  1. So I had a thought the other day on how amiibo were integrated into the game. If you're unaware, Fates can tell if you have Awakening streetpass data and give you an emblem shield accessory, which means it's capable of reading this streetpass data to some degree. My thought is, why couldn't Fates at the very least detect your avatar customizations from the Awakening streetpass data and change the appearance of Robin to match when the amiibo was scanned? I feel like this was a missed opportunity here by IS.
  2. Just thought I'd ask this question. Of all the games to feature a playable "avatar", which "avatar" do you like best, for any reason you might have?
  3. What if the Pegasus knight class wasn't gender locked but instead avaliable to certain characters (Chrom, Robin {M + F}, Donnel, Gaius, Maribelle, Lissa, Emmeryn, Cordelia, Aversa, Sumia and street pass characters/bonus map characters)? How would that change skill sets (if at all)?
  4. Something I've noticed...I scanned them in the fourth time, and all of them had the Armory Shield equipped so I could have them work in the armory. I scanned Lucina last...and what I noticed was that she was in both armories...Dawn AND Dusk, in Revelations. Secondly, after multiple battles, the Amiibo never showed up again, in the armory or otherwise. And then I tried rescanning them in...at least, Marth. By this point, I had removed the accessory, and he was working another shop. It seems that the Amiibo only work in a shop ONCE after you've scanned them in, and, in order to get them to start working again, you need to re-scan that Amiibo. Does anyone else know if this is the case?
  5. I know that I have seen a post like this some where, however I am no good at math and the formula has practically left me in the dust like formulae often do. Can anyone help me work out what our lovely Lucina's stats will be? Any and all help appreciated! Chloey's current stats pre chapter 12: 78 HP| 29 Str| 31 Mag| 34 Skl| 34 Spd| 35 Lck| 42 Def| 32 Res Chrom's current stats pre chapter 12: 80 HP| 44 Str| 7 Mag| 41 Skill| 42 Spd| 46 Lck| 41 Def| 27 Res Chrom is capped in all but Res and Magic and Chloey is capped in strength. Chloey's asset is defence and her flaw is luck if that will help to work out her base stats Again thanks for helping ~TSC
  6. ROBIN CUSTOMIZER http://luminescentblade.github.io/RobinCustomizer/ Some of you in the Kamui Customizer thread over on the FE:Fates board and over at tumblr wanted me to make a Robin Customizer, and here it is! Big shoutout to SF user Twylis for cutting out the Robin sprite for me. I would not have gotten it done this fast without their help. Yeah, it's about 3 years late, but better late than never!
  7. For this theory, I'll use default Robin's(the one in Smash 4) as reference, since that's the "deafultest" look possible. Hey there! So recently I've noticed something while playing FE13, and it kinda shocked me when I realized it. We all here know that most children in FE13 inherit their father's hair color, right? And since Robin's hair color is up to the player, most children can have any of the selectable hair colors. Now, very later in the game, we discover that Robin is the child of Fauder/Validar, and that becomes quite the plot point, as it explains how Validar managed to make Robin kill Chrom at the very beginning of the game. He was controlling Robin through his blood, which was related to his own. But here's what I noticed. Robin and Validar do not share their hair color at all. ...Quite shocking, I know. This can mean a few things: 1) Robin could not actually be Validar's child Which seems quite an idiotic thing, since the game explicitly tells otherwise to us, but bear with me for a bit. I think that Robin was some random kid that Validar kidnapped and ended up brainwashing said kid to believe that he was their real father. Maybe he saw the potential Robin had to be Grima's Vessel and decided to seize the opportunity, so as to not take risks. Eventually, something happened to Robin, and that something triggered their memories. That and finding out that they had been lied to the entire time made them flee from Validar's reach, only to be found by GimRey (That's what I'm calling the Robin from the future, who decided to accept being the vessel. Thanks shadowofchaos.)in Ylisse and have their memories disabled until later in the game. The shock from GimRey and their memories made Robin faint, only to be found later by Chrom, Lissa and Fredrick. When Validar controlled Robin, it simply was controlling using Grima's power to seize a good vessel for Grima.Since the fell dragon wanted that too, he lent Validar some of his power, so that he could be reborn as GimRey. Now there might be a few errors within this theory, especially the fact that Robin never seems to mention that, nor does Validar or Aversa. Or the fact that this game seems to love plotholes. But it has enough evidence to make it at least plausible, so I guess it's up for you to decide if you'll believe it or not. Now, onward to "thing" 2. 2) It's just a silly plothole, and I should stop thinking too deep. Don't forget that we are still talking about FE13, and it's tightly-written story. This seems to be enough evidence to break the theory too, so yeah. Or maybe... 3) They may use this not-resolved plotline to make another game in Ylisse that follows Awakening. Which seems likely too, since Awakening revitalized the franchise in the West and is the best selling in the series. Who knows? Like point 2, I won't delve too much into this, as it is real-life speculation. Endgame I'd like to invite you guys to share your thoughts in this thread, be it evidence, criticism or any kind of commentary. After all, this is why people like to come to SF...right? I don't know if someone else already posted something like this, but if they did, sorry in advance. I hope we can spark some nice discussion out of this! And who knows what will happen in the future, right? Thank you for reading until here! Have a nice day!
  8. Hey, I figured I'd try something different and do a let's play. Sadly I lack the gear currently to screenshot or record 3DS games, so this will have to be all text. But I'm a fairly good writer, so I'm hoping this'll be worthwhile to read anyway. Figured out how to do screenshots. I'm going to be doing what I call Fire Emblem STEAM. I'm going to play through the story mode of Intelligent Systems' latest game (for the west anyway), Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., and I'm going to do it entirely with the fire emblem characters whenever possible. Now, since I hate most of the color changes characters take on (and all of the amiibo ones) when you retry a mission, I'm going to be going through each of these missions on a fresh file, first run, so there will be mandatory party members I'll have to let tag along for certain missions and drop one of my amiibos for (*cough* Ike *cough*), and missions 1-1, 1-2 and 1-3 will be done without amiibos since they're not available at that point. Scratch that, turns out those color changes are only for challenge modes, which I won't be doing. I'll be playing through every level of the game using just those four units. I'll be honest, while I vow to stick with this as long as I can, I don't know if I'll be able to see this through to the end, or if it's even possible. Being locked to a specific party that lacks access to three crucial gameplay elements (a halfway decent overwatch attack, a healing weapon, and a weapon capable of hitting weakpoints on big enemies) just seems incredibly limiting. What's more, the amiibo units... vary... drastically... in terms of quality, and even the best ones don't last long against the final boss due to a special strategy involving tanks and healing seeming to be pretty much required from my limited experience fighting it. If anybody has any advice for me I'd appreciate it. Also, while I may go back on this later, for now I plan to try and do this without using save points, and refusing to reset until I get a game over. I had a tendency to play through the game on fire emblem instinct, resetting the moment somebody was defeated, and I think it would be fun to exploit the fact that this is the one strategy game where you can play as fire emblem characters that don't suffer from permadeath, and see what kind of exciting down-to-the-wire struggles I can find myself in. I'm not going for score, I'm aiming for just winning. I'll skip gears unless they're basically free to grab, and I won't care about medals unless I later decide to use save points. I'm going to skip talking about the first set of missions since that's going to be standard fare, nothing unique or interesting there. So the first entry you'll see of this will be mission 2. Again, change of plans, I'll be starting on chapter 1.
  9. I currently have a problem for my normal F!Robin run through Awakening. I am debating on getting non healers to max out to level 20 or second/master seal them while they are at level 10. I have several units that are near or past the level 10 threshold and are able to second/master seal. I am pretty sure that I will be second sealing Chrom and Robin at level 10 (if my luck with Anna holds!) or at the very least master sealing Chrom. Is it better to go to level 20 or second sealing/master sealing at level 10? ~TSC
  10. I already posted this in the Awakening forum, but I was informed that it would be better here. For those of you who don't know, LEGO Ideas is an online feature where you can post your own ideas for LEGO products (as long as it doesn't break any of LEGO's rules), and if the idea receives 10,000 votes, it can be made into a LEGO product! A few days ago, I submitted an idea based on the Premonition chapter of Fire Emblem Awakening. Included is the Fire Emblem, the dragon's table, Chrom, Validar, and Robin (comes with male and female versions). Here's a link to the site; when you get to the site, click the support button on the right to vote (you will need a LEGO ID though, but it is simple to make one). https://ideas.lego.com/projects/121131 You can also comment on the product on the site. Getting 10,000 supporters is mainly a question of advertising, so please tell others you know who would be willing to support this. Update (December 20, 2015): It is currently sitting at 14 supports, and it has been almost a month since anyone supported. Please support this LEGO Ideas project.
  11. Summary: What if Robin/Avatar had woken up in a different timeline? What if he had woken up in the dire future of despair that the children came from? Could destiny be changed once again or would he fail this time? -Feel free to review by PMing me :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Prologue: Premonition ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "This is it! Our final battle," he told her determined. "You seem anxious. I've never seen you like this," She responded to him surprised. It was true. They had been through a lot together, and in that time he never expressed any sign of nervousness. He was always calm, smooth, collective, and ready for battle. This time he looked different, as if something was troubling him. "It's because everything has led up to this moment. Everything we've done, all our hard work, and our struggles. They are what got us right here, right now," Robin said with a serious tone. "I can't afford any more losses. Much like I can't stand losing you." She smiled. "We've faced so many things together, so I think you should know by now that I can watch my back. Right?" "Yes, I know. It's just that, I would never forgive myself if something happened to you tonight." He looked straight in her beautiful eyes. In those two pools he saw his own reflection, and the best out of himself. "Neither would I, if anything happened to you. Do you remember the plan?" She asked him seriously. "Of course. I created it after all." "Right, and this is like the Valley. Risen had us surrounded, we were outnumbered and alone." She pointed to what she could see in front of them. It was getting dark, and there was no sun to light the way while Risen covered the land that expanded before them. They couldn't even see the grass beneath the zombie horde, only the dark gray sky and the burned trees were visible. "No, the Valley differs from now." "How's that? I see no difference," she asked him curious. "Ehmm… because of this." He pressed towards her, and she couldn't help but feel the adrenaline of her heart when he put his lips on hers. She felt so protected and joyful, because she had someone right by her side. Someone she knew that had stolen her heart and would do anything for her to smile. Her blood flowed rapidly in her cheeks, making them as red as ever. He put his hands around her waist and she put hers around his neck, pulling him closer. "We should focus on our mission, we're about to start the battle. Did you forget that?" She told him in a slightly bossy tone while pushing him away, but she was unable to hide her excitement and her rosy cheeks. "I did." He replied with a broad smile, like she hadn't yelled at him. "Although, when this is over, I have prepared a small surprise for you." She nodded and asked, "Really? Then, shall we go ahead so I can see it later?" "Yes. Tell the others to guide our forces towards the enemy. We must focus on entering the castle. It's your job to tell us how to get in, and with our new weaponry, we have a chance of winning." "I know. Tonight, we will write a new future for Ylisse." "Together." He told her confidently and held her hand. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------And so the battle began. The zombie fighters rushed at them with a vicious aura. They couldn't listen or feel. They could only see their enemy in front of their eyes. That was their mission, to kill with no remorse of their actions. That was why the fell dragon was so powerful. Although he had great power himself, his army was the one that terrorised the countless cities it found in its path. Did that mean they were better than humans? Of course not. Although their enhanced battle abilities and skills were something to notice, they lacked human's skills like improvising, insight and the two most important ones, compassion and supportiveness for each other. Those skills, unheard to Risen, made the remains of humanity gather and forge a team with one goal in mind, the fall of the fell dragon, once and for all. In this battle, that dream was about to become real after all those years of pain and slaughter. It was the time for the sun to rise, and for the long period of peace to begin. The man, followed by his beloved one, found a path that guided them and their selected forces inside Ylisstol's castle. The building was the key for them to open the door to a bright new world. At least, that was what they thought as he looked around the room. They had just gotten in, but he told them to stay alert for anything. "What is it? You looked troubled," she asked him worried. "I don't know. This is way too easy. It was never that easy," Robin responded concerned. Right then, they heard a huge noise from outside. The man quickly turned around to see what was going on. Unfortunately, in that moment their forces were surrounded by Risen. He couldn't understand what was going on, but before he could even think, he was knocked out from behind. The last thing he remembered before closing his eyes was his beloved one and the feeling of extreme disappointment. He had failed her, something he swore never to do. He awoke disoriented and confused when he slowly opened his eyes. He tried looking around to get his bearings and unconsciously moved his hand only to find that it was tied tight to a metallic chair. With a quick look around the room, he saw nothing but a dim light from a candle nearby. At once, he tried to think of ways to get out of this condition. Alas, the metallic chair was bolted to the ground so he couldn't break it. His hands and legs were also tied with a plastic-like cord making it impossible to move. Not to mention that he seemed very weak. Unable to find an idea to escape, he waited there looking towards the candle's light, and smelling its wax scent. All he could do now was worry about his friends and his love, about their failure, and about the person who betrayed them. Suddenly, he heard noises of footsteps. Then, the sound of a door cringing open. Before he knew it, a man appeared before him, holding another candle and a knife. "Thank goodness! Hurry! Cut the ropes and let's save our men! Hope isn't lost yet!" The man in front of him laughed sarcastically. "Your plan failed tactician. We've been holding you here for a while now. The battle was lost before it started, and there is nothing you can do anymore." "What?… We? It was YOU! You hit me from behind! You… Traitor! How could you? We trusted you! I trusted you!" He tried to move in a fury but he couldn't. "I am definitely going to enjoy this. You are alive because I ordered them not to kill you. You know, for old times' sake, but I came here with a deal. You will tell us where you are keeping it. You kept that secret for yourself and-" "Don't speak her name!" He cried furiously as his face reddened in anger. Robin moved his body with rage to escape, only to be stopped a third time by his ties. "Haha! I won't. I was so close, but so far away. You lied about its place. It wasn't where I thought it was. Tell me where the real one is and I will grant you a place right next to lord Grima." "I prefer to die before I help you! Snake!" He spat at his face using the only way to attack he could think of. However, the man wiped it away from his eye and continued like nothing had happened. "Don't worry I am not in hurry. I have all the time I need. I finally defeated you! Could I ask for more?" "Arrrgggghhh!" It was a female scream. One he recognised immediately. "NO! What are you doing to her? You crazy psychopath! Tell me, damn it!" "You will tell me where you hid it! Or she will die. I will slaughter her in front of you, but if you comply then I will let you keep her head! Haha!" The man laughed evilly. "Now, tell me where you hid it!" Robin was lost in thought. He had no other choice but to comply. "Tell me Sir Robin. How did everything begin? Tell me everything you know or she will suffer." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fire Emblem: The Man That Never Was Prologue-Premonition ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A/N (Author's Note): Hello everybody :) This story was created to become something completely new, based on the characters we all love (from Awakening) and maybe answer in some interesting questions, like "Can Robin change the fate of a doomed world?, Can love be found in such place?" Well... I believe there is only one way to find out :P This prologue is a bit shorter on purpose to smoothly proceed into the main story. Please don't mind any grammatical errors. No copyright intended. Until next time! Please have yourselves a darn good one :D ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ J.D. 12. So in my current playthrough, I am trying to determine who my Robin should marry to that will give him Morgan and an additional child (I always went with waifus that didn't give second children cause I liked them better). But I haven't really decided on who. It's less about which waifu I like and just who I think it would be fun to have Robin as father. I am not trying to min-max or something. It could be for any reason. Maybe I could make the perfect Gerome everyone talks about. Maybe I can pass down tactician to Laurent cause he is an aspiring tactician. Maybe I should go for Lissa because Owain and Morgan makes the perfect scatterbrained sibing duo. So yeah, who should I go for?
  13. :Roy:Well... I've been thinking about what FE smash character is the best. I vote Roy. Who do you think is the best?
  14. Kind of like how one of staff responsible for Halo said Heroic was the canon difficulty. I'm torn between it being either hard or Lunatic, but is it possible for it to be Normal? Also, without any DLC, is it possible to beat this game without using any skills, on hard or lunatic?
  15. .... or do they function like Einherjar in Awakening once recuirted.
  16. I don't know if this is better in the SSB forum or the FE13 forum, and I don't even know if this has been done before, but whatever. So, my thought is, we could collaborate and make a WiFi team based on the (humanoid) cast of SSB4 using Robins, with classes, weapons, skills, and stats that reflect on their usage in the game, but making sure they're still able to put up a good fight. I'm doing a really bad job of explaining, so I'll give an example. Shulk Class: Swordmaster Asset/Flaw: +Skl/-HP (Based on his stats in Xenoblade, if you are wondering about the Flaw.) Skills: -Rally Spectrum (Monado Arts, except for his fellow Robins instead of for him) -Luna (Back Slash I guess; mostly for Generals) -Wrath (Buster Mode, you deal more damage in exchange for taking more damage) -Vantage (Just because we want to win) -Counter (Vision) I still need a weapon that looks like the Monado, but I guess a Brave Sword kinda works? Get it? Cool! Another I've come up with is: Link Class: Bow Knight, 'cause Ocarina of Time. Asset/Flaw: +Str/-Mag Skills: -Swordfaerie -Bowfaerie -Aegis (His Hylian Shield) -Astra (His Hero's Spin or whatever you call it) -Agressor (Because he's powerful offensively, but is succeptible to attacks due to his big lag after using a Combo or a Special) Don't know what would really look like the Master Sword, but he'll probably wind up using a Brave Sword anyhow. A Brave Bow should suffice outside of Swords. Also, the Mario Bros. could be Dread Fighters (Hammers and Fire Tomes), and Luigi would have +Spd -Skl and Mario would have something like +Skl -Spd or something to mirror their SSB counterparts. If this seems interesting to you, feel free to contribute to the brainstorming!
  17. I'm just curious which "special" marriage is your favourite, if you have one. These marriages are restricted to only the Avatar (depending on gender) and some are only recruited in DLCs or Spotpass. The polls are multiple choice, so feel free to vote as much as you'd like. (If I'm forgetting anyone, feel free to tell me and I'll add them asap.) For Female Avatar, I'm quite fond of Priam (even if he can't get Aether, it's cool) and Gangrel. For Male Avatar, I'm less picky and like all of the marriage options (but I'm really attached to Tiki).
  18. Does anybody else feel like the makers of Awakening sorta-kinda intended for the player to pair up their Avatar with Chrom (if female) or Lucina (if male)? I know there aren't really any canon couples in the game per se, but it does feel like there are certain pushes from the makers. Obviously they also really try to hammer in Chrom X Sumia as well, but it's safe to say that doing f!Robin X Chrom and m!Robin X Lucina brings out the most epic plot-driven drama the game can produce. In either instance, Lucina tries to come to terms with killing her mother or her husband, and the scene is just so heartbreaking and powerful, especially because of the music and dialogue. It's gotten to a point where I now consider at least m!Robin X Lucina "canon", just cause their relationship makes the game a decent bit more compelling. I also found their supports and their conversations at the DLC hot springs to be cute as hell. Obviously this is just opinion-based, and I'm happy to hear replies from people completely disgusted by the pairing ("That's his best friend's kid, you sicko!"). From the sounds of it, though, m!Robin X Lucina and f!Robin X Chrom are really popular ships. Like.....really popular, so if anyone has a reason why they ship them so hard, feel free to respond! =P
  19. Well, a thought occured to me today (it happens a lot) that maybe Robin,Mark, and Kris are all related by blood. Basically, FE7's tactician Mark's children lead to FE12's my unit Kris, whose Children lead to FE13's Robin. My only real basis for this theroy is Lyn's DLC convo in Smash Bretheren 3.Obvious reference is obvious. So if there is any real contradictions here, I would like to know. Also, I know Elibe and Archenea are possibly differnt worlds, but Awakening proved travel between worlds is possible in FE.
  20. Anyone know when and where preorders for these bad boys (and girl) will be? It wasn't announced in the direct and so far Amazon and Gamestop listings have not been posted.
  21. PIT: There's something weird about this fighter, Lady Palutena. PALUTENA: That's Robin, also known as the Avatar. PIT: I wonder where Chrom is... PALUTENA: Who knows? Probably taking a nap at home. CHROM: I'm no idle layabout. PIT: Whoa! Where did you come from?! CHROM: Robin is a skilled strategist and master of both the Levin Sword and magic. Certainly more useful than a simple swordsman like myself, though each of Robin's tomes, along with the Levin Sword, can only be used a limited number of times before it wears out. VIRIDI: Hey look, it's that Ike wanna-be! CHROM: Excuse me?! I think you're sadly mistaken. I lead the Shepherds, not the Greil Mercenaries. VIRIDI: Shepherds, Greil Mercenaries, same difference. CHROM: The Shepherds may have a lot in common with the Greil Mercenaries, but both my leadership style and my fighting style are very different from Ike's. VIRIDI: Pfft! You and Ike are pretty much carbon copies. This is the reason why you were rejected as a playable character. CHROM: If I was rejected for being a "carbon copy" of Ike, then explain why Dark Pit is able to fight alongside Pit. VIRIDI: Because Dark Pit has a wicked staff that Pit doesn't have. Meanwhile, your Falchion is pitifully short compared to Ike's Ragnell... DARK PIT: Yeah, suck it, Pit! This is why the ladies love me! PIT: Don't drag us into this, Pittoo... CHROM: Too late! I'll turn you into bear meat... Once Robin gets a hold of a Smash Ball. PIT: Why wait for Robin to get one? Don't you have a pair of Smash Balls already? Unless the doctor removed them when you were a little boy... CHROM: If they had been removed when I was a little boy, then how could I have possibly fathered Lucina? VIRIDI: Perhaps "Freddy Bear" is the real father... CHROM: Now I'm angry!
  22. What if you can have a custom final smash, like the custom moves? It sounds kinda OP,but then again, custom moves are kinda OP too. Here are some examples of a custom final smash I made. Robin- 1.Normal Final Smash 2.Robin uses vengeance, the percentage you have is dealt back to the enemy. For example,if you had 75 percentage, Robin will hit that 75 percentage back at your opponent. 3.Robin uses a very slow Lethality. It KO's in a hit,but can be blocked by rolls and shields, and stopped by projectiles. Lucina-1.Normal Final Smash 2.Lucina calls Owain,Severa, and Brady (similar to how robin calls chrom in his normal final smash) Lucina,Severa, and Owain hit the opponents who get caught in the hit with Lunas and Astras while Brady slightly heals Lucina. Not likely to KO something though, just deal damage. 3.Lucina catches the opponent in a hit, using Sol and Luna, and then using Aether.Sol and Aether slightly heals her.Is pretty weak, but has high knockback. This is all I thought of for now,but if you like this idea, give me a custom final smash you'd like to see happen ;)
  23. As I'm sure many of us have, I've been playing a lot of Smash for 3DS, especially with the four Fire Emblem characters. Gotta say it's great, and they're all fun. Except... I think I'm missing something with Marth. So, I know the main difference between Marth and Lucina is that Marth does more damage at the tip of his sword and less damage on the rest of it, while Lucina's damage is a balanced middle along the entire blade. My first thought was "oh, so Lucina is a kind of skill-gate character. You play as her to get used to the mechanics, but Marth will be better since he takes more skill to use." I thought the tipper was enough to make Marth the superior character. Except, in practice, it isn't; at least in my experience so far. Because Lucina's sword is balanced throughout, she doesn't have to rely on keeping the enemy a certain distance away. As long as her sword can touch them, it will do solid damage. This means that she actually has a useful up-smash, unlike Marth's, which is completely useless unless you land the tipper (which is more trouble than it's worth, and you should probably up-tilt instead). Also, Marth's sword has been shortened even more since Brawl, which itself had shortened it from Melee. I'm pretty sure it's shorter than Link's sword now. Lucina's Falchion is of the same length, but if you have to get that much closer to hit someone, it's easier to just close the distance and attack than closing the distance while also worrying about landing the tipper. And the tipper itself. In Melee, the tipper was much easier to land, and was integral to his attacks. In Brawl, the tipper was made significantly smaller and much harder to land, which continues into SSB4. This was fine and dandy in Brawl, but now he has a clone who is better off without the tipper. (And he doesn't have chaingrabs anymore, but that's beside the point.) Ironically, I can't help but compare Marth to Roy. Roy 'sucked' because he had a poor sweetspot on his weapon, and sourspotting his attacks would hit like a wet noodle. Marth is the same way in this game. If you don't land that precise tipper, that forward-smash isn't doing anything. Meanwhile, Lucina's forward-smash is amazing, and can kill at medium percentages. Not to mention how both characters have the revamped Shield Breaker, which is basically the same thing in case their forward-smash is stale. Except Marth's Shield Breaker runs into the same problem as his up-smash: gotta land that tipper, bro. Stabbing is not Marth's strong suit. So I'd deduced most of this while playing, but then a thought occurred to me. The two Falchions deal different damages, but what about knockback? From what I've been able to determine since then, I've found that they are pretty much exactly the same. That is, Lucina's knockback isn't distributed throughout her sword; rather, it's identical to Marth's Falchion. An example is both character's down-aerials. I had assumed that Marth was the only one with a meteor smash, since you had to land the tipper for that to work and Lucina, well, didn't have one of those. I had also tried to land a meteor with Lucina several times and failed, but apparently those failures were just me sucking at the game, because I now know that her dair does, in fact, have a meteor smash at the tip. It seems to be just as powerful, too. I basically dropped my 3DS at this point, completely dumbfounded. What does Marth have that Lucina doesn't? Lucina appears to be superior in practically every way to Marth, with his only advantage being that little tipper. I posit that question to anyone reading this: am I missing something with Marth? Does he have some other advantage I don't know about? I hope the great Marth doesn't have to step down from his consistent place in the upper echelons of the tier lists. TL;DR: What's so great about Marth compared to Lucina? Thanks for the reply.
  24. I love that Intelligence Systems put this into the game. It literally serves no purpose, and most of Old Hubba's judgement can be disregarded entirely as fanfiction. (Really, Old Hubba? Chrom and Robin are having a miserable marriage because secretly, Chrom longs to confess his feelings to Frederick? Really?) Anyway, the feature itself is entertaining and a good way to regain your sanity after frequents Lunatic mode restarts. My question to you is what ludicrous pairings did Old Hubba give you, and how believable were they?
  25. While replaying Radiant Dawn, I've been reminded that Zelgius might just be the most badass antagonist (at least for a while) in Fire Emblem history. He's calm, he's clever, he's powerful and he's the only character in the game with a good English voice actor. Every time he's shows up it means bad news for Ike and the gang. I never felt that way about any of the enemy generals in Awakening. They were incompetent flunkies who's only jobs were to be cannon fodder mini-bosses. Even the enemies that were important to the plot like Gangrel and Validar were a pair of easily outsmarted idjits in the end. Why didn't IS give us a antagonist on par with Zelgius? I wanted to see a bad guy who could Robin a run for his/her money show up, but they never did.
