  1. Ok, so I'm pretty new at Fire Emblem. I played Birthright and part of Conquest, Revelations and Awakening like 4 years ago, and some weeks ago I decided to do a marathon and try to play all the games. I've started with FE7 normal mode and FE8 hard mode (yeah, at the same time) and I think I'm doing OK so far. But I still have a lot to learn. I have to reset like twice every three chapters or so. I already know the basis (check enemy range, let the enemy attack first if you can only survive to one hit, weapon triangle, magic trinity, etc.), but I'd really appreciate it if you guys could share some of your tips with me. Thanks in advance!
  2. Short story shorter: I'm borrowing my cousin's copy of Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest for a few months (her "borrowing" my copy of Kid Icarus: Uprising for five years may or may not have anything to do with it), and I'm curious if there are any general tips or advice I should know before diving in. For reference, I have completed ironman runs of Awakening on both the Normal and Hard difficulties (and the first Normal run was technically a no-grinding run, even if in truth I did it four times. To be fair, two of them were getting to shops that I wanted to buy from, and another was to test out support facts from the site), as well as Echoes on Normal and Hard (does it count as an ironman if everyone survived and I never resetted, but still used the turnwheel?). I've also tried Mystery of the Emblem, Blazing Sword, and Sacred Stones, but my emulator crapping out prevented me from getting far in any of them. I have experience with this series, but I'm not all that knowledgeable on the specifics of what Fates does differently. I know that they changed how pair-up works, the reclassing system is expanded upon, there are still children, and weapons don't have durability but instead have drawbacks, but other than that I know next to nothing about Fates. Also, is there anything I should brace myself in regards to the story, supports, and characters? I don't want spoilers, but I know that Fates is infamous for its... let's say lackluster story, and I want to know what to prepare myself for. This is coming from the guy that thought that Awakenings story was alright (personally believe it's over-hated, but at the end of the day it's merely average) and that its cast and supports are underrated (although I can understand why some don't feel/think the same way). I also liked Echoes plot (although I will also be among the first to admit that it is very, very flawed) and enjoyed the characters. I admit I don't have the highest hopes with Fates in the writing department, but I'm also going to decide for myself how good or bad its quality is. Thanks in advance!

    FE4: Tips

I'm thinking about starting Geneology of the Holy War. Since this game is a bit more complex, what are some overall tips. While I dont want any spoilers in it, I already know about Alvis's family BBQ and the 2cd Gen. I'm trying to play this game mostly blind and am avoiding strategy or pairing guides.
  4. Hey i am trying to get good at FE and i want to play FE 4. I have already played FE 7, but it still isn't enough. Any help would be appreciated
  5. I thought that this wasn't weighty enough for the Serious Discussion forums, but I still want legitimate answers. What are some tips, advice, and habits you have for going to bed on time to get enough sleep for the next day, as well as waking up at an assigned time without snoozing or accidentally going back to sleep? For the full (and very long) story of why I'm asking this: The Short Version:
  6. I'm becoming so frustrated with this chapter that I had to take a break from Conquest for a little while. I don't know how I'm supposed to beat this, does anyone have any tips?
  7. I intend on playng FE4 and i don't like going completely blind,so i would like some tips for the game.Thx
  8. 5 stars Ursula with blarblade, chilling wind, death blow 3, desperation 25 star Camus with Gradivus, darting blow 3, goad cavalry5 stars Xander with Siegfried, g tomebreaker 1, and hone cavalryolivia with Dance and Wings of Mercy 1 Skills listed are the only skill that were require to win.have Ursula honed up and ready to atk the lance cav with xander on right and Camus below. Ursula kills lance cav, camus moves up one and olivia below. red mage should get Ursula to WoM hp and peg kn destroy wall above Camus with Cecilia above and lilina at left. Camus with hone buff kills peg kn, xander kills Cecilia, ursula desperation kill lilina with chilling wind 2 space left of Camus, Olivia WoM above Ursula and dance her, ursula at the right of olivia desperation kill archer. That leaves the red mage at below half hp. Take ur pick for the final kill. Replacement units:For Ursula: hard to replace and has to be 5 stars to get an exact victory. The only I'm aware of replace her is a Atk+ Olwen neutral spd. Or a infantry blue mage if you have someone to dance her (though blarblade will be hard to use without horse buff). For Camus: any lance cavalier with 50 atk and 45 spd (with weapon and horse buff and darting blow) or lance breaker 1 if u lack the spd. Goad cavalry is a must. also make sure res is less than Ursula so that they will aggro Cecilia. For Xander: any sword or axe cavaliers with g tomebreaker or have natural spd to double Cecilia. Sword cavalier must have 45 atk or 39 atk with TA3 or Ruby Sword. Axe cavalier must have 54 atk. Make sure to have Hone Cavalry. For Olivia: Can be replace by any dancer at any lvl. Her only purpose is to dance and aggro the peg knight. Just make sure she has Wing of Mercy to dance Ursula. Having Hone atk can help ur Xander unit get enough might if you lack the atk to ORKO.Hopefully this helps anyone having trouble with Infernal.

  11. So I just got my hands on a way to play GBA version FE7? I don't know what number it is but it is the GBA version, I'm extremely excited but I was just wondering if there were any tips and/or tricks to not screwing up since the units die and stay dead in the older games.
  12. Alrighty well then I plan to tackle Dark Dragon and Sword of Light again soon and well. I remember my first time playing through the game being quite hellish due to the way a few of the mechanics work one being item storage having so little space so it is hard to have stuff for my team. But I can push all that aside if it were not for one glaring problem clerics. Ugh I have a playthrough of this game up on my youtube channel that I stopped midway awhile back and I wanna do again and finish but the way clerics work in this game is a big turn off for me and is one thing that is stopping me from going back again. Do any of you have any tips for easy and safe methods to level them? See someone like me is paranoid as heck putting units like that out in the open to be attacked with no defense at all. So I wanna know some safe fast level methods for my clerics since most enemies can 1 round them low speed and no Def easy targets to double attack or 1 shot. A friend of mine said there was a glitch in this game you could exploit in the arena where you can bring any unit inside including clerics and they would get EXP is this true? And if so how do you do it? If such a glitch exists I`ll go with that so the weak healers can catch up with the rest of the team safely and not in the line of getting shot by a steel bow or something or a random critical hit done on them. If it matters at all the two I plan to use are Lena and Maria eh I might dump Lena for Maria though when I get her I personally prefer Maria over Lena but might use them both so yeah.
  13. So I'm thinking of going and doing a hard mode run of FEA and would like to know if there are some basic tips that should help me get through without anyone dying. The plan is to try and actually finish the game on hard mode, although I am not too sure where to start. I would assume that this would be more than a significant challenge for me (I'm not that great at Fire Emblem in general) so practical help would be appreciated greatly. I would assume that this is the point where it would be pointless to pick up Donnel, even though it is tempting to get Donnel!Kjelle.
  14. So I'm going to play FE6 now. I don't know much information about the game, or know all the characters, therefore I need help in order to play this game. So, here's what I know: Wendy and Sophia suck, but I'll still try to use them(although it'd be a waste of time) Axe wielding characters are not that great, because the game is biased towards swords and lances(?), but I may be wrong here. Milady is awesome, Roy is not that good. Zephiel's the baddie. Legendary weapons are to be found in order to get the true ending. Yeah, that's what i know so far. In all honestly, I'm not expecting much from this game, but who knows, this might turn out fun Thanks in advance for all the advice.
  15. As the title states, I'm planning on doing an Ironman Let's Play of Fire Emblem 7 on YouTube (I'll post a thread in the Let's Play/Stream section on here too), and before I start I figured I might as well ask the veterans for some tips! I'm not planning for it to be a low turn count run or be locked into certain characters like a draft or PMU (although I'll probably use characters that are suggested), just looking to get advice on what I should consider for an Ironman playthrough in particular, especially since it'll be the first one I've ever done.
  16. So I really want a Ebon Wing, and doing the Royal Royale DLC seems to be the best way to get them - Problem is, I can't to save my life not beat it. I mean, I'm by no means bad, but the rng just screws me so incredibly hard it isn't even funny... Anyone else who has problems with this dlc? I'm looking for some tips, to make my life a little easier. I've tried Ryoma, but due to me not landing hits, getting crits or triggering astra, I just get absolutely destroyed. Kagero and Saizo die from one hit anyway, so it's a given I can't rely much on them for anything other than lowering stats and chip damage. I've tried pairing them up with Ryoma, pairing them up with themselves or eachother, but no - If Effie as much as glances at any character they're dead :/ I have tried Elise, which went ok, until I missed a shot and then a couple turns later misplaced Effie one square. Leo get's hammered pretty hard once Effie gets down to the southern part - And Sakura can't seem to scratch Leo's team. Xander seems obvious, but Peri is super squishy and can't take a hit either - So I'm not sure what to do there :/ As you can see, I'm not sure what to do - I've read some people having an easy time with the DLC, but that must mean I'm doing something horribly wrong :/ Any tips or helpful advice is much appreciated!

    Questions?

Hi can i just get some tips on the best programs for hacking a fire emblem game? I actually just want to make one of my out that i can play. I have a lot of questions regarding the modding because i have absolutely no background to such. I just need to know how to first make customized sprites and their animations? Making the story per chapter. Basically changing the entire game. and is it more advisable to use FE7 or FE8? Also i downloaded the FE Edition ADV but i havent got the slightest clue how to run it haha apparently im too dumb to open the program.
  18. So, I'm a decent chunk of my way through writing my first novel, and I often find myself in some spots where I'm like "that's a really good line" or "that was some witty dialogue" but too often I get the feeling of "am I writing complete crap?" I often get into situations where I'm unsure whether the audience knows what's happening in the scene, or whether the setting is described well enough, or if I'm going into too much detail and it's getting boring. So I'm wondering if there are any other writers, authors or critics who have any good tips to share, and hopefully those tips will help not just me, but for all aspiring writers on the forum. Anything that will help me out of the trudge of writer's block, expand my wit and ready my typing fingers would be much appreciated please. If it helps, my story is historical fantasy adventure.
  19. Ok, so I recently went to my Goodwill and I actually found a copy of Final Fantasy VII, with all 3 disc, (THANK YOU GOD) and the ps1 version of FF IV (the one from FF Chronicles)...somehow all in the same game case( ...a mix up I guess, but hey...I'm not complaining). I'd been wanting to play this game for a good while now, but......I'm a newbie to the ps1 FF games and I feel like a few tips would help me out greatly since I've heard about rare steals and some hidden stuff(weapons, items, summons, etc) and I would to not fall for or miss some stuff. So any tips and tricks would be helpful to me (No spoilers please...expect the one about Sephiroth using "Jump" on Aerith...almost everyone knows about that)! Please and Thank you in advance!
  20. So I decided to take a shot at making a portrait because so many people do it and make awesome ones. So I took a rather spotty one as inspiration and tried my own portrait. It's that MarkyJoe portrait and I made my own version of it (because I saw it in those ragefests so often that I decided I wanted to try that sprite because it was pretty simple). I don't know, I think that he might be a bit too *small* so to speak. I don't think it looks particularly bad, but is it Fire Emblem? I don't think so. Any advice? I feel happy about the chibi portrait though. I'm pretty good with Chibi.
  21. Okay so I have played all fire emblem games excluding the Jugdral saga. The reason being is they are very intimidating as I here they are very punishing to the uninformed. So i guess what I am asking is any tips for a newbie. Im not sure if we are allowed to discuss fan translations but does anybody have a link to one for either game (if we aren't supposed to discuss them just don't mention it.)
  22. Ok, I need help. I'm trying to go for the special ending that consists of But I can't seem to have Soren attack Pelleas (or vice versa) in the Part 3 Endgame. I have no long-ranged tomes, and I'm doing hard mode, so there are more enemies (meaning it's a lot easier to get the kill-count to get to 80). I've gotten really close before, and then Nailah killed Soren, and Pelleas attacked the wrong person. I've tried having Haar rescue Soren, and have him follow the Gallia path, but it didn't reduce the kill-count because Phoenicis will take the center path (the path that you're supposed to take). I've had Soren equip Pass, and have a few people (with a lot of defense or avoid) do a berserk strategy without trying to kill many people, but someone usually ends up dying (mainly Haar). If anyone can give me any tips, it would be most appreciated.
