Aleph
Reposted from FEU: (6:08:49 PM) hectorofchad: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/336940/Hextator%27s%20Doc.7z (6:10:33 PM) hectorofchad: there's a sample patch in here (6:10:34 PM) hectorofchad: Hextator's Doc\Fire Emblem Series\#FE 8\Skill Editing (6:10:54 PM) hectorofchad: and the patcher is Hextator's Doc\$Development\@Misc\New Patching Format (6:10:55 PM) hectorofchad: there (6:11:03 PM) hectorofchad: the Java Implementation folder has the actual application (6:11:14 PM) hectorofchad: the folder above that I just mentioned has the specifications file (6:11:21 PM) hectorofchad: in case you're curious about the data format (6:11:45 PM) hectorofchad: the system currently has no support for files that are of different sizes (6:11:48 PM) hectorofchad: that may be added in the future You're welcome. Report bugs here, quit using UPS, suggest specification improvements, etc. The sample patch mentioned was given the extension "JFP" if you're unable to find it. Edit: Updated. If you're wondering about what's different, I suggest you read the documentation. Edit: The system now supports mismatched file sizes and patches that are meant for files that aren't as big as the resulting file. Crimson Red
I have no intention of being rude, but how is this any better than UPS or any other patching format?
Aleph
It pretty much just does the checksums better. It only applies them to changed bytes. It also uses 2 md5s for insane overkill on data verification >_> Edited July 28, 2010 by Obviam
