TheMoniker
SECOND HALF OF UPDATE: They won't move for another turn or two, but these guys are more than happy to get themselves killed. They can help a bit more now that they have better weapons and stats, but you don't want them engaging too many enemies. Serra caps speed. And snags some treasure. HECTOR is the better archer! Dangit! The archer's been distracted by another flier... ...Who had a delphi shield! But anyways, these guys don't move the turn after the door opens either. They're just sitting there. And this merc? Steel sword. If you don't start eliminating them, they pile up real quick, since there are 4 or 5 of them that come straight out. Luckily, we're in a good position to take them down. Unnecessary crits happen a lot this chapter. Steel swords CAN counter each other here. Bolting battles are possible! So, some guys head to tend to the Caelins, while others move to the top. This knight finally moves, and immediately puts himself in danger of getting zapped! The cav reinforcements in the bottom start piling up. Notice anything funny? Lowen grabs one... Marcus grabs another... And Wil can't quite reach his, so let's move on straight to Priscilla showing her contempt for steel swords. She was given, like, three more opportunities to crit, but never chose to take them after this time. Bartre breaks into the treasure room, and nabs us another promotion item! We have a cavalier AND a knight, so we have the exact amount we need! I MAY have done a bad job of protecting Merlinus. now I gotta savestate... We're coming, buddy! Bartre loots the other chest. FINALLY we have one of these for ourselves! But...Serra doesn't need it, I'm not sure if Guy can use it, and I KNOW Priscilla can't use it... Merlinus makes it behind the defense line. He's safe, for now... I miss a Wil level, but I remember it being good and containing resistance. As you can see, he's already picked up a very nice stat spread. Where will 11 more levels take him? Marcus isn't nearby, so Florina's strategy for these guys is, "Hope they don't hit". Florina, you gotta think BIGGER than not getting hit! Raven picks up Lucius. Another view of the map. The cavs have stopped coming, and the castle is mostly clear. Hector begins the assault on the throne room by getting badly hurt, but not lethally so. ANOTHER excellent level? Are you Guy V2.0? This guy gets a bit too close to the fray, so I use CREATIVITY! I think I may have mentioned this before, but steel axes give insane WEXP to make up for its sucky stats. Erk is at A now. Almost done... USEFUL. Pretty good Erk, but you need some DEFENSE. Please? The cavs are gone! I'll have Florina escort Bartre to the bottom chests, as I never killed the dark mage earlier. Hector... Serra seems the best choice for the boss kill. Done! But she again doesn't even get a full level from it. I gotta stop giving this lady all the kills. Priscilla with horeslayer seems the best choice for the Extra! Both sides miss, and then...the animation continues forever. Klok, I thought you said you FIXED this issue? Anyways, it takes surprisingly little RNG abuse to kill this guy. Normally I'd hide it, but the glitch... Not even a good level? Well, we did get this thing. Florina approaches the enemy heretic. I have to be careful, as he can actually 1-shot her with that attack. She 1-shots him instead. She heads back up for support grinding, and Bartre gets...an unlock? Oh, infinite uses. I guess that makes it a bit more handy. Not something I'm gonna have my guys carrying at all times, though. Wooo, another promotion item! Perfect for Erk! SUPPORTING! Erk and Serra FINALLY get C. Last one! HectorxLyn FTW! Okay. Let's leave. "Bitch" is mother. Also, this is a GREAT line. Didn't we ALREADY stop Laus? It's the black fang now, Lyn! The soldiers show up again and help us out by instantly winning a chapter for us. Woo! I wouldn't miss it for the world. Well, okay, I probably would, but... Oh come on! It can't be THAT hard! ...Can it? So...I'm assuming the image limit for posts is 100, as this double update had barely more than that? TheMoniker
Hello everyone, and welcome back to... The CHAPTER 17x PRELUDE! NEVER! In this hack, parents=owners. This leads to some people taking "apowner" interest in the start of the hack. In all honesty, this actually makes MORE sense than stealing a castle's chair. Only 6? Man, I thought we'd have at least 8! Oh well, seems we're on a slot budget for this chapter. We've had to cut all but these guys. You can actually sell lord weapons in this, for a sizable hunk of cash. And there's only one other person who can use the rapier later, and I have no plans to use him/her. I'll keep it as a collectible for now, but if we're ever short on cash... I do some inventory rearrangement, which involves giving Eliwood Raven's stuff. We have to do some shopping this chapter or the next, as we're running out of stuff and there will be no shops on the dread isle. And of course. Klok uses this old tactic to make your life harder. So many chapters in this hack have Fow its insane. Like, every other chapter from here on out, seriously. Of course, Klok has modified fog mechanics a bit in this chapter, if you look closely. In the caelin chapter, you could actually see 4 spaces around you, and here, we can see 5. It makes things a bit less horrific. I'm actually going to play the chapter a bit here, by visiting... THIS house(man I cant believe I forgot which one it was) It's Canas! And he's revealed the entire pirate force. Wow, that's WAY better than bartre! We can actually steal thief lockpicks now! Yeah, Bartre PERMANENTLY DROPPED! He even brings gifts! An extra lockpick, killing edge, and secret book! Over here, these pirates are even more insanely powerful. I have a bit of a plan to handle them... But level 17, seriously. Oh gee, I wonder wh-ITS FRIGGIN LUNA DEFENSE PIERCING. Yeah, I'm not gonna let any suspense build up around that at all. Of course, it still has backfire chance. There's also this killer axe, which I'm mostly certain is new. Anyways, that's all the prelude for now. CANAS'S GROWTHS: HP: 75% Strength: 35%(-10%) Skill: 60%(+20%) Speed: 65%(+25%) Defense: 25% Resistance: 55%(+10%) At last, a thief that is actually a thief! We need to protect him from combat, unlike Bartre, but in exchange, we get someone who can steal stuff from the later enemies. He'll always be fragile, but he's actually a pretty good magic tank. man Klok, what is it with you and magic tanking physical units? We keep getting SO MANY! It's so nice to finally have a real thief...
Klokinator
I just make it so whenever there's two units of the same class, they have completely different stat spreads so they're useful in different ways. Bartre is the slow tough tank thief, Canas is the speedy weaker thief.
TheMoniker
Hello everyone, and welcome back, for the umpteenth time, to... FE7 CHAOS MODE: EPISODE 9: CHAPTER 17X: In which much death is Had Here we are, Canas recruited, fighting our way across a village filled with pirates who don't actually want to destroy the village...not sure where I was going with that. This house here has the recently-shown devil axe, but for us this time. I guess maybe I'll use it if we ever encounter a super high-def Extra!. I place Serra close to the bottom, but then some guys charge out of the fog! This is the bad news. This is the worse news. That level doesn't stick. Second try, as you can see these derps just RANDOMLY rush out of the fog, and two are the level 17 supermooks! This is what killed Serra. Yeah. The other one has this weapon. It's...very powerful. Priscilla here can actually one shot this pirate. Oh man, now this guy and his dudes are in the fray too! Oh, and Damian has a steel sword. Like all the other enemies, he can't hit with it, but its still annoying. Lances>swordslayers...but Lowen still can't dodge a 23. A level...right? RIGHT??? RIGHT!??!? Right. Also, Canas got his first kill! Of course, now we have to deal with Damian's mooks... Canas can't deal with them. A level...but WILL IT STICK? Again, WILL IT STICK? Before I give out the epic conclusion, I would just like to point out that marcus can support with Lowen. I don't actually do it. Priscilla will almost certainly die, so... Go on. Once Priscilla is removed and Marcus retreated...spot the mistake Klok. I dare you. Hector moves in to tank out stuff...but the mistake it still there... The mistake is DAMIAN ONE-SHOTTING CANAS. Seriously? Serra re-gets her level as I try a different tact. Canas hangs back this time. But hanging-back Canas is not useful Canas. Okay, second setup! I had to leave the halber guy alive...once again, CAN YOU SPOT THE MISTAKE? STUPID 2-3 RANGE HALBERDS Serra re-gets her level. Again. Okay, third try! Halberd guy is dead this time, Eliwood tanks top, hector tanks bottom! Hector mostly neutralizes Damian's horsemen... And we live! But now we have to deal with a bunch of supermooks! Oh wait, these are just normal mooks. Nevermind then. Hector will again handle the top, where the majority of the enemies are. Ill have the other take care of the bottom. Lowen's proving really helpful here. Glad I brought him. He's gonna cap defense. Calling it now. This troubadour doesn't stand a chance against Serra. NOT. A. CHANCE. Eliwood though... Astonishingly, nothing happens to Priscilla's perfect level! And all that's left is Damian. My original plan(before all this crap happened) was to go behind the wall and eventually reach the other side of town, where I would attack the pirates from behind. Damian will be a problem, but I'll just have to grin and bear it. Canas gets...a thief level. In all the confusion, I forgot to mention I wasn't actually able to pick this up earlier. Merlinus will hide in this corner for the whole level. Look close, CAN YOU SPOT THE MISTAKE? Yes, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. In this chapter, if you make even one tiny positioning mistake, it's all over for any squishies you have. Okay, again, but without the mistake! This time, Damian actually runs up and attacks Serra, who he shockingly doesn't kill. He does waste the last of a steel sword though. I have plenty more. Of course, keep in mind that Damian is now all alone and RIGHT NEXT TO US... I was gonna try and let Canas have revenge, but Priscilla gets revenge first. Oh well. It's okay, I guess. Lowen does a flyby on a house, and we get another short bow. Canas kills what is pretty much the last ordinary pirate. Grrrr... I make a miscalculation, and one of the supermooks kills Eliwood. Marcus gets a level with magic in it. Lowen visits the last house and gets this. It looks useless, but it is the first non-highbrow sword you get that isn't a bowsword. Lowen reveals Fargus. The guy's still insane. And that Earth seal? You technically can get it if you favoritism Canas or get lucky with Bartre. But really, its just there to troll the unprepared. We aren't prepared. Now that we're here, we can just slowly bait-and-switch the supermooks out, since we don't have an invisible line to worry about anymore. Man, Hector really needs some speed. Lowen picks up some staves and thunder tomes. Ill do more shopping next chapter. And now Dart comes into view. I think I'll wait on revealing his stats. Hector...you shouldn't have done that... Because it resulted in you finally getting speed... Only to un-get it a minute later. I have Lowen move around a bit, and...apparently there a line here too? Anyways, there aren't many supermooks left. We'll be fine. Eliwood is a mage who is both defensive and resistant. Hmmm...I've got a savestate ready, and I just HAVE to try it... Naturally, Priscilla doesn't even give him a CHANCE to kill himself! NO FORGIVENESS! Hey, the maps clear! We snag the last bit of loot. This could be handy. Anyways, there's no one here who I want to support grind, and I was thinking... Maybe some arena abuse? Dangit! Yeah, Klok made arenas totally inaccessible to all units. I sorta wish he'd done something more unique, like make everyone in the arena invulnerable gods, or made the arena tile traversible JUST by Ninian and Nils. Anyways, let's leave. Again, this isn't a good sign... Many people say that it's not until 19x until the hack shows its true nature. Others say its not until 20. I believe it waits until 20, but gives us a glimpse of it here.
Klokinator
This troubadour doesn't stand a chance against Serra. Man, Serra really is so strong!
TheMoniker
Man, Serra really is so strong! *facepalm* Hello everyone, and welcome back to... The CHAPTER 18 PRELUDE! The black fang gathering on the dread isle. Not reeking of evil or anything, nope. No, we aren't going to actually promote anyone this chapter. Almost all of our units CAN promote, but I need to wait until level 20, and for many I don't have the proper items. I don't get this title. You fished up a Ninian! NOW THE BLACK FANG WILL ATTACK YOU. Our team! We've swapped out Bartre for Canas. Guy is just offscreen, I've decided to keep him on the bench until either I have room for him or the other dudes catch up. Inventory management! We will need a LOT of steel sword for 19x... Canas starts with A-rank swords, so I give him all the things. Lyn gets the devil axe. We'll see if I find a place to use it...also, remember the silver axe? Erk got that. This setup is good enough. I never got why your ship was already half-taken over, even in normal FE7. Starting the chapter, Priscilla says something. I didn't know that. I think this is new? Remember, -- range is 3. Shine. Very dangerous in enemy hands, especially since 60 isn't actually that low. Zoldam initially looks nothing special statwise, but he has a luna tome. 3-10 range, guaranteed 14 damage. And we WANT that guiding ring. Random droppable flux. New sword! We do want that. There are future people who can use it very well. Stealable elysian whip! We want it for Lowen! 10 speed! Man, SO MANY WEAPONS! This slim sword is less weighty and more hitty than the iron sword, but its useless for us because 10 uses. Okay, I admit to forgetting a few things here. Like the emblem blade(I accidentally got the lance twice...), and their position on the map(they're all grouped together at the bottom of our ship). These emblem weapons are actually kinda useless, except as backup weapons. Other than their high uses, there is nothing special about them, and I'm fairly certain Klok didn't actually change their stats, even! Well, no new characters or growths to end on, so I guess that's it! I'm starting to think I should slow down with these updates. Klok said it would be a while until the 1.3 patch, which adds 19xx(which I need to show off), and so I can't go any farther than 19...and were at 18! Klokinator
I'm not gonna be doing the 19xx patch for a long, long while. Next patch is a long way off. Everything in the next two patches is basically optional expansion packs. Aside from bugs, chaos mode is p. much finished, oh and I need to adjust the Iron Blade's stats. TheMoniker
I'm not gonna be doing the 19xx patch for a long, long while. Next patch is a long way off. Everything in the next two patches is basically optional expansion packs. Aside from bugs, chaos mode is p. much finished, oh and I need to adjust the Iron Blade's stats. Oh, so now they're optional expansion patches? INB4 PAID DLC But seriously, if it's gonna be THAT long, then I guess I don't need to show it off. I just hope that I'll be able to show off all the T3 classes by the end of this. Hello everyone, and welcome back to... FE7 CHAOS MODE: CHAPTER 18: Part 1: The seas awash in blood This update had just over 100 images, so I decided to make it a two-parter. But ignoring the bad news, let's get started! Florina starts us off poorly. In all honesty, I'd say shes my worst unit at this point. She'd better shape up, for her own sake. TWO misses? Oh well, 69... First one! Wil gets a crit against this poor guy. Excellent, excellent! It doesn't last long I buy a bunch of stuff at the armory and shop. Steel lances are nice and cheap, so I get plenty of those. Man, I really need a STEEL BOW...but its SO EXPENSIVE...I guess I can hold off... Here's out setup for the first turn(I had Marcus visit the shop just to grab one door key because YOU NEVER KNOW) That hurt! Dangit Lyn, you gotta dodge these! WHY? Why would you attack Florina, you stupid Elysian whip peg? And then Lyn dies. Savestate. Forget all the levels and stuff you've seen so far. Canas gets a worse level... Lowen is awesome. And he's not even Guy! I rely on him heavily in the initial turns to tank out some of the onslaught of enemies. Wooo! The Elysian whip peg is gonna live this time! Lyn gets badly hurt. She doesn't take kindly to it. She gets everything...but the stats she really needs. Theres one! Ow! Dangit, this is still the first turn! Why won't enemy phase END? There we go. The onslaught hasn't exactly lessened, but we survived! Florina gets her level again, but does it better this time. I think this was a crit. Yay, two down! Hector re-gets the level he failed to get last chapter. 5 speed! Hurray! Serra is like, the opposite of the speedy-but-weaker sword user archetype. Although its not really a lack of speed as much as using an axe for a sword. Am I blessed with a tanky Eliwood? Or is this normal? Well, I did say he needed to work on his right column... Almost... Lyn steals Canas's lockpick... So that this can be mine! I was planning on waiting on promoting Lowen until a later patch, so he could hopefully grab some extra weapon ranks on promotion, but I guess its gonna be too long. Lowen positions himself so as to mitigate the merc threat, and grabs the last emblem weapon. Hurrah! Why yes, it HAS only been two turns! But our ship is finally almost clear! On the third turn, a merc and myrm show up on this ship. Theres also a flux heretic on the boss ship. The myrm has this thing. The 60 crit is high, but...2 mt. Hell crit almost every time, but it won't do anything because 9 attack just isn't enough. Also, since that means 7 mt...Lyn, a level 9 axe user, has the same strength as a generic low-level enemy myrm. Canas can really killing things with the silver sword! The myrm drops the longsword and I accidentally put the silver one in the convoy Priscilla grabs back Eliwood, who would have been in danger from some offscreen mages. I think about it, and change my mind. I go back and buy a steel bow. I know this is a short update, but it contained a lot of action. Don't worry, the next one will be long and boring because there are so few enemies around! One thing I've noticed about defense missions in this hack is that they have kind of...inconsistent difficulty. The first few turns are nightmarish, and after that, you just wait for the reinforcements to come out so you can kill them. Also Klok, you DID make the...canon alterations...to the next chapter in this patch, right? If so, guess I'll be the first one to get to show them off! Xtremekiwi
Finally made it through Chapter 20. That was a rough one, especially for one who wanted to grab everything (Even though I did end up losing one item). Just some of my reactions: "Legault of Legends"? Well, I can see the reference, even if I don't care for it... Oh good, another luna asshole...hmmm, droppable berserk staff? shame I'm not gonna get it... Oh joy, high magic physic druid... Goddamnit! Wait, I think I might have screwed myself...yeah, lost the speedwings. Oh well. (Only item I lost)(Okay, and a goddess icon, but it's a goddess icon, no big loss). Okay, open the door...into the breach! Wait, HE MOVES?!? Get back here thieves! No you won't! Hey Fiora, might getting a good level?!? Well, guess I'm benching you... Whew, that was close! (I dodged 4-5 lethal blows that turn, one of which was >60% accuracy that would have finished Legault). Derp, left Canas in range of swordslayer fighter... ...and that about covers my experiences in this level.

TheMoniker
Hello everyone, and welcome back to... FE7 CHAOS MODE: EPISODE 10: PART 2: THE SEA LEVELS ARE RISING... AND ITS NOT GLOBAL WARMING A remind of our current situation. Its pretty good, actually. But then an ENTIRE PEG ARMY enters. This looks threatening, but then you realize that all the fliers are really weak. LOOT Start of the fifth turn, more sword-users have arrived, and the pegs are right at our ship. For some reason, the lancereaver works well against lances. Who would have thought. Strength! Also, the guy has low skill for a future assassin... Steel sword are great. Hector vs pegs is just overkill, really. One of the main problems we have right now is how to approach this ship. The magic users deal some very heavy damage, and they'll also be pelted by the luna boss... I forgot to save a state, and so am very worried... Phew, he didn't even cast his spell! Turn 6, ANOTHER flier army comes. I'm fairly certain that's just about the last of the loot. Canas is gaining insane EXP from these enemies, beyond the normal thief XP. Did Klok forget to nerf their superexp? I decide that now is the time to push forward and kill all these stupid heretics! SERRA! I needed that guy dead! Nevermind. Crit=forgiveness. Its surprising that Serra can one shot almost everything with the mani katti, but doesn't actually have maxed strength. I guess thats 18 mt for you. Hurrah, the ONLY one left is th- Oh. Right. Enemy phase reinforcements. Florina is hurt. Luna is MUCH more threatening than the steel sword thanks to its hitrate. Ironically, the safest place for her is right next to the boss. Marcus acts as ferry and hands a hand axe to Lyn, who was out of them. Canas, you do need skill, but not like this. Hector HIMSELF is overkill. Another 4-dude mix wave AND a flier army? The pegs put Florina in danger, so... Im quickly glad I used that. Erk manages some very good damage with the silver axe. And OF COURSE doing that was a positioning error. This guy actually DOUBLES hector. Get some speed, man! ANOTHER enemy wave comes on! Here too? AND A WO DOA MYRM? I decide to kill the boss at this point, as I doubt there are reinforcements on the 11th turn. Priscilla starts the party... And florina finishes. Strength! And some other stuff! LOOT! And the chapter ending? I thought the game would make me wait! Oh well, I didn't get to route the chapter, but there wasn't much to be gained but a few paltry xp by staying anyways. Not quite, but close enough. We arrive at the dread isle. Dart will be shown off next time. Hmmm...A chapter title that actually relates to the plot? Well, guess I'll see you guys next time! I would have updated earlier, but imgur adamantly refused to not be crappy.

TheMoniker
Can not read past ch17x yet (self rule) but man that was good. Laughed so hard when I saw you bring serra to tank at the devil axe spot. then the canas deaths...yeah too good. daimain really hates canas for some reason. Glad you're enjoying it! chapter19chapter19chapter19omggggggg Someone's gotta LP this fucking chapter. Prime, Skitty and I put too much effort into it. Well Klok, now that you've said that, I have to draw things out as long as possible. Hello everyone, and welcome back to... The CHAPTER 19 PRELUDE! No, klok didn't remove the fog on this chapter. Really, the merlinus chapter is the only one where he gave us that mercy. This title will...be fitting. Nergal's been promoted to the elite rank of sama. And we cut to leila down here. I initially thought Leila was a good spy, what with her saving Marquess Caelin and all that... but then you see her loudly talking to herself about her spy-ness in the enemy headquarters. And then Jaffar... ...just barely doesn't kill her? She is understandably shocked. But she still falls unconscious. Oh sure. You didn't quite kill a random spy with uber prepomote lategame stats. In normal FE7, he at least did it with FIREWORKS, but now... We encounter her "body" on the island. That's the sprite for a dragoon, Wil's promoted class. Pay it no mind. Are you sure? Check for a pulse! Okay. We'll have time for plot later. For now, here's our team. Guy's just offscreen again, and I WOULD have room for him but I need to bring Matthew. He may come in handy. Just a feeling. Maybe I should stop letting Guy hold all the good weapons while being on the bench...nah. here Matthew, defend yourself(I regret this later). The fog is rather heavy here. This guy has a droppable torch. We can also spy... This guy! He has a torch staff, if you can catch him. Starting the chapter... Here's Dart. He has immense con and res, at the cost of loww mag and def. 8 mag? Thats not much offense... Lightning NEVER misses. Seriously. Its insane. Anyways, I ended up getting myself an update backlog. If I wanted, I could show you half the chapter and Klok's special dialogue right now. Buuuut I think I'll stick with the normal update schedule. Anyways, heres Fiora. She brings us another lancereaver and a slim sword. Ill look at her more in growths... DART'S GROWTHS: HP: 80%(+10%) Magic: 70%(+10%) Skill: 20% Speed: 70%(+10%) Defense: 20% Resistance: 15% Dart is...very specialized. He'll easily max HP, mag, and speed, but he may have a hard time hitting or taking hits. His immense con helps his speed even more, and he'll basically never be weighed down. He could be useful, but hes probably not the best. FIORA'S GROWTHS: HP: 70% Strength: 45%(+10%) Skill: 60% Speed: 60%(+10%) Defense: 20% Resistance: 50% This lady's growths are quite good, even though she hasn't really received many buffs from FE7. She can also use the katti weapons, and as such, if you aren't using Serra, she is a good second choice. However, we already have Serra, so we don't need her. Ladies and gentlemen, Klok has actually ADDED a unit to the game, and it appears in this chapter! I will discuss the MYSTERY UNIT'S growths here, and show the unit off when they arrive! Yes, I'm going to make a show of not knowing who it is, even though its very clear who it is. MYSTERY UNIT'S GROWTHS: HP: 40% Magic: 30% Skill: 50% Speed: 35%(+20%) Defense: 20% Resistance: 50% This mystery unit...sucks. More than a little. They don't have higher than a 50% in ANYTHING. And that +20% is actually a buff that Klok gave them, but it really wasn't enough. What use could they possible have, other than being them? Well, I guess we'll find out, because we're using them. I've already played ahead in the chapter to see stuff...and it was great. Can't wait to show it off.

Xtremekiwi
'tis only a shame that said mystery unit is more useful for the equipment that the unit brings then for the stats and growths. Hmmm, that sounds familiar... *cough*Isadora*cough* Also, I'm curious to see any conversations between the mystery unit and a certain unit I didn't bring because a different one was outclassing him in every way, and, though I was expecting the mystery unit, I was still surprised. Don't ask me how. I'm on Ch. 21, so I know that it's Leila, but I want to maintain a bit of suspense and avoid spoiling who the unit is. And if you're reading this spoiler...well, it's called a spoiler for a reason :P Also, I wanted to say this before, but I'm doing so now: The Javelin is slightly different from what it was in before: It's hit rate has went up from 60-65 I think to 80. It's not much of a difference, but a difference nontheless. Edited October 4, 2014 by Xtremekiwi

TheMoniker
Hurry up and post it post it before that MrNight scrub beats you to it XD Edit: And whenever it gets posted, I'll upload a video of the event to my channel. Dang, looks like I've already been beaten. But he only did a half-baked job. I WILL SHOW ALL THE DIALOGUES unless theres stuff I missed because dudes I didn't have on my team. Hello, and welcome back to... FE7 CHAOS MODE: CHAPTER 19: PART 1: The Isle of Dreadful Prepromotes With some tricky trading and torch usage, Canas reveals...is that an Extra!? Oh no, it's just a normal prepromote. Yeah, this is where Chaos Mode starts mixing in prepromotes with the normal enemies. Did I mention that Klok doesn't muck around with level 1 promotes or anything. These enemies, especially after this chapter, are always high-level and very dangerous. Even if she's not an Extra!, she still has a goody for us! We NEED that angelic robe. Comeere, you. 9 speed. Mine(OR IS IT DUN DUN DUN) Two misses? Erk, listen, if you want to be trained, you gotta put some effort in! With my little eye I spy an eclipse turn. Losing half your hp can be very problematic, and eclipse has a VERY HIGH hitrate... Here's our setup for the first turn! The pirates break this snag, which is kinda bad, as now Canas is in danger. Gah! Pegs out of the darkness! NOOOO Yeah, you can't let squishies near the upper-right corner. There are pegs hiding there. Ill let Lowen handle it. New setup, Canas is moved, Serra has retreated. Lowen just doesn't care about these pegs. But anyways, look at that foggy sea background. Its so weird. WAIT WAIT WAIT WHAT Is...that our third bolting weapon? Lyn. Getting hit by 20s is just barely forgivable. But PLEASE try to avoid the teens hitrates! This lady will be quite annoying until we dispose of her. Start of the second turn. We're alive, but enemies EVERYWHERE. The tomahawk isn't that strong, but its the first 1-3 range axe, and it has immense crit and hit. I actually have to let Dart help here, because thats how many enemies we're facing. I think this was actually the first pirate. or maybe a different one? I don't remember. Either way... I'm immediately glad I did that, as it reveals another prepromote who was JUST out of our view range. That...is a very good weapon. Better than the lancereaver. Its a pity we may never have it for ourselves. Either way, this peg is going to be a very dangerous magic-slinging enemy... BUT THERES ONE THING SHE LACKS I have Erk retreat and heal. I still don't know where axereaver is, and it would kill him in a second engagement. COME ON LYN. GET. STRENGTH. Study Eliwood's example. See, he doesn't care about the 45s. He just crits them. Better. That could have been a real headache. Serra finds a way to help without endangering herself. Lowen seems to be prioritizing very hard in this run. Heres our setup! Most of the enemies are clear, but the chapter is nowhere near over. OH NO MY PLAN NOW THE NOMAD CAN ATTA-Oh wait, the snag falls that way. Poor Canas, always living life on the edge. I like how Marcus is tough enough to not instantly disintegrate in a combat engagement. OH COME ON! AGGHHH Canas, tired of dealing with this BS, helps me by shifting out of reality! NONONO STAY AWAY FROM MATTHEW HES LIKE LEVEL 4 DO YOU HAVE NO PRIDE Oh thank goodness. He didn't get doubled. Enemy phase ends, thanks to my masterful flawless positioning. As you can see, pirates are coming from the top, and the valkyrie couldn't find anyone to heal so it offered itself to us instead. I also see this. See, here's the interesting thing about bolting. If you enter a combat engagement with it, nothing can counter you. You'll never take counterattacks. In exchange, when the enemy attacks, it also can't counter back. It's interesting, but when you think about it, not that amazing for either side. Hector gets a good level. I catch sight of another new weapon, the axereaver! Just LOOK at it. Better than the steel sword in EVERY POSSIBLE WAY, except for the steel sword's 5 crit. However, due to still being an axereaver, it is ironically countered by the very thing its better than. Well, now we have seen the bolting triangle. Priscilla starts on this prepromote... And Florina... FINISHES! Florina, its nice you want strength(more than lyn, apparently), but please try to get some defense in the process. Well, at least we got this! Marcus gets a unique level. Serra attacks the axereaver peg with a steel sword, in what I believe is actually first person view on the pegs part. The thief is getting away! AFTER HIM! STOP! THIEF! The initial rush is all gone! We can start really pushing forward! OW! Dangit, Serra! Wait...this steel sword DOUBLED Erk? Oh right, iron axe. I try again, and this time things go differently. For some reason, even though Erk isn't on a forest tile, the stats look totally different. But then I remember: He supports with Serra, who is close to him now! This has all been only 4 turns, and I'm starting to worry. Shouldn't our two dudes have showed up by now. Don't worry, they're coming. Canas snags the angelic robe! I can finally kill the nooby steel sword! I also should have showed this off earlier. The crit isn't that daunting after seeing 60 last chapter, but it is a good bit more powerful, and also MAGIC. We also spy the most dangerous prepromote in the level. We haven't gotten too many levels in this chapter. Wil lets the ones we do get be concentrated. Goodbye, steel sword! Okay, now I KNOW there was a second droppable torch somewhere. Oh hey, Luna! All the siege stuff in one level! Oh, I'm SO scared. This guys swordslayer is more a weakness than a buff(he misses, if it isn't obvious). More loot! We finally have Fiora and the MYSTERY UNIT arrive! Yep, it's Leila. She lived. Dialogue is meant to be read left to right, then top to bottom: Sounds nice! I don't know if Leila's capable of recruiting herself on Matthew during her phases. Dangit, they get a turn to themselves! The AI doesn't cheat in fog or anything, nope. She seems competent enough, but I still don't want to use her. Gah! LEILA! She wastes not one, but TWO uses of her Luna! I guess I'm glad I have that extra one... Here's her stats. Despite her aforementioned bad growths, she comes at high level with some good bases. Shes basically a prepromote. I'm going to use her because I've heard there are plot changes in later chapters revolving around her. Is that right Klok? The rating is only half-right. Okay...let's have Matthew work his magic. But because there are too many images to dump the text right here, I'll have to do it next update. The three dread isle chapters are basically where the game makes its transition from: pretty hard, lightly trollish, to: INSANE DEATH WORLD HACK
TheMoniker
Okay, I'm not gonna make you wait any longer. FE7 CHAOS MODE: EPISODE 11: CHAPTER 19: PART 2: The dialogue dump Okay. Matthew talks to Leila, and... This is such a d'awww moment...but how did she survive? Uh yeah, now we get a good prepromote on our team! Uh...Leila...? 0_0 This isn't looking good... *startling music kicks on, the same one used when Eliwood kills Ninian* Wait, what? Leila! What are you doing? And Matthew dies without saying his death quote, which would have been impossibly fitting here. And she's on our team now, at the cost of Matthew. I'll put my thoughts later. However, there's more dialogue to show. Florina can't quite reach Fiora yet, so I'll transition by showing a bit of gameplay. Oh also, if you press start to skip the scene, you can recruit her without killing Matthew. Wil weakens swordslayer guy. He retreats next turn, for some reason. Fiora spends her time wasting more slim sword. Here we go. This conversation ALSO recruits Leila. So there's really no need to let Matthew die. There's two ways to skip it! I let him die though, because I don't like him. Hector has no convo, so I'll assume thats the end of the modified dialogue. Unless there's more at the end of the chapter, and I'll catch it then. If I missed anything, I hope you cover it in your video, Klok. I'll finish the rest of the chapter in the end of the first three-part update. My thoughts(DON'T READ UNLESS YOU'VE READ THE SCENE): So, Leila kills Matthew, in vengeance for herself. I'm not going to rate the scene, as I'm not really sure how to make of it. However, I do think I know why Leila murdered Matthew. When she was buried, she went COMPLETELY OFF THE DEEP END. We now have a mentally unstable unit on the team. Also, the florina convo is the same whether you do it before or after she kills Matthew. FURTHER LENDING SUPPORT TO MY THEORY. Also, how would Fiora know to dig her out? Is she actually a grave robber?
Xtremekiwi
0_0...well, now I'm glad I had benched Matthew long before this chapter. Then again, I benched Leila right after this chapter, so :v:... Also, observation: Quite a few bosses seem at their weakest at 1 range. Zoldam doesn't move and can't counter at 1-2 range, Uhai's Longbow is easier to counter then the Killing Edge or the Steel Bow, Darin, despite moving, can only attack via Javelin at 1 range... Finally, I can now say that I have a (ir)rational hatred of poison lance-wielding fliers, courtesy of Ch. 21.

Okay, I'm not gonna make you wait any longer. FE7 CHAOS MODE: EPISODE 11: CHAPTER 19: PART 2: The dialogue dump Okay. Matthew talks to Leila, and... You guys really did consider everything and created a suitable interesting response. thoughts on that HAHAHAHAHAHA FUCK YOU KLOK YOU WAS TRYING KILL ME! oh man I would have been pissed after that because I would have had to do a full fucking reset. Thanks for taking the bullet on this one moniker.
Klokinator
[spoiler=lol] Oh also, if you press start to skip the scene, you can recruit her without killing Matthew. Fucking glitches, man. We spent a whole week trying to make this work, damnit! And Matthew dies without saying his death quote, which would have been impossibly fitting here. The death quote was glitchy so we removed it. It WAS really fitting tho tbh. Here's her stats. Despite her aforementioned bad growths, she comes at high level with some good bases. Shes basically a prepromote. I'm going to use her because I've heard there are plot changes in later chapters revolving around her. Is that right Klok? Yeah, but it isn't added yet :B Still the best scene evar. Credits to primefusion.
Klokinator
Uh, Moniker bb, if you could replay this chapter offscreen again with the new hotfix, that'd be great. It fixes the Matthew/Leila event so you can't skip it, and more importantly it adds a very important flag at the end of the event. That flag will be used in a later chapter.
