Honey Bunny
I like spell blade. One promotion could be Dark Knight for the gaining of a mount, and the other branch could be Warlock for increased Spell Bladeyness. The more I think about Spell Blade the more I like it. It gets the point across, doesn't reference another class creating false expectations, and it sounds like a first tier class. I'm sold. NinjaMonkey
I'd like to see the Tactician class back in this game, together with Veteran and Rally Spectrum (even though I didn't use either).

BlueLore
With troubadours and myrmidons, the series already has a standard for not caring why classes have names. Well that can be excused by early installment weirdness,no reason to continue the it. I mean many things improved over time in the FE series(something I found out the hard way with FE11 xD),so why shouldn't the naming get a bit better too? BlueLore
Namely at this point I think its just tradition. But stuff like mage fighter is rather old,I mean where would be the big advantage in calling them mage fighters instead of tactician? In a similar way I'd say that dark knight is already better than mage knight too,so its not like they aren't open to name changes.
Chiharui
The Tactician class seemed to get a bit too strong but it maybe just me

It's not limited to early installment weirdness. We didn't get a name for Canto until Fe10 and it really has nothing to do with the word. Which is all the more stranger since in Path of Radiance it was Reyson's galdr skill where it made sense. A Canto is a song or poem. Unless there's another meaning that is completely lost on me. There is no other meaning, its a divider of long poems of sorts, I guess you could say their movement is divided into very long strides.
