What is your opinion about Mario Kart Tour, the new Nintendo mobile Game?

For me, the game is cool. It's pretty fun to play, although I still need to get used with the gameplay.
I can see myself spending some time each day playing it. It doesn't have multiplayer yet, but it will be added in the future.
The pay-to-win is not visible for me for now, although the Gold Pass is kinda... unnecessary? Speaking of Gold Pass:

You can get a 2-week free trial for the Gold Pass. Once the 2 weeks end, you will start to pay the Gold Pass, but
you can cancel your Gold Pass until 24 hours before it ends. So it can be a good boost for new players, like me
because it will give you more resources, free drivers and free vehicles during the 2-week time.

The soundtrack is amazing, and it's nice to have the convenience of mario kart on the iphone- and that's unfortunately about everything positive I can say.

This seems like a generally less forgiving gacha compared to others that I play, and there isn't exactly a whole lot of content in the game yet (what I mean is I can't play Rosalina).

The controls are atrocious, so if there's a way to play it while holding your phone in landscape mode, someone please tell me, because right now it's awkward and nonresponsive.

Considering I'm already playing Heroes, Clash Royale and Pokemon Go a lot, I'm guessing the same thing will happen to this as did to pokemon masters- I'll enjoy it for a couple days but ultimately will stop just because it's not a priority.

I went trough the tutorial and immediately uninstalled it. The touch controls just don't do it for me. I'm severely missing a jump button to control my drifts, so I'm gonna give this a pass. Auto-accelerate in such games is bad enough but with MK's focus on boosting this control scheme seems like a complete mismatch.

Nintendo's adamancy on using the screen vertically is also weird. I had some hopes before release but after playing I'd prefer holding the phone horizontally and maybe even using gyro + jump on touch. Dunno, racing games on mobile are a hard match in general and I have yet to see one with tight touch/motion controls.

*Urgh* I can't believe this exists. Super Lootbox Kart. Bloody gross.

Seriously, how can this even be a thing? Pokemon had to get rid of it's in-game casinos even though it only uses in-game currency. But the moment you gamble with real money, it's suddenly okay again? That's completely backwards.
Nevermind that in games like Mario Kart Tour, gambling is the cornerstone of the whole game, unlike in Pokemon where it was just some side thing.

I thought it was pretty fun but put it down after I got 1st place in the first and second lap and still failed to meet the point requirements for getting all stars. I joked about it happening while on the tutorial but I wasn't actually thinking that the game would pull that shit. It also has a cap on how much you can level your characters/karts/glider per day which made the problem even worse.

Sad because I did think it was enjoyable but very obviously p2w (because even when you win races f2p you still lose)
