Remember that the vanguard (lead unit in a pair) gains access to the adjutant's Level 1 Support ability when they reach C support, Level 2 at B support and Level 3 at A support. (Some character spoilers below) Adjutant centric abilities plus notes: Spoiler Rally Deluxe When this unit is an adjutant: increases the active unit's Str, Spd, and Res by 10. Rally Magic When this unit is an adjutant: increases the active unit's Mag by 10. Rally Strength When this unit is an adjutant: increases the active unit's Str by 10. Rally Charm When this unit is an adjutant: increases the active unit's Cha by 10. Rally Defense When this unit is an adjutant: increases the active unit's Def by 10. Rally Dexterity When this unit is an adjutant: increases the active unit's Dex by 10. Rally Luck When this unit is an adjutant: increases the active unit's Lck by 10. Rally Resistance When this unit is an adjutant: increases the active unit's Res by 10. Rally Speed When this unit is an adjutant: increases the active unit's Spd by 10. Dark Assist When this unit is an adjutant: adds a dark element to the active unit's strong attacks. Fire Assist When this unit is an adjutant: adds a fire element to the active unit's strong attacks. Ice Assist When this unit is an adjutant: adds an ice element to the active unit's strong attacks. Light Assist When this unit is an adjutant: adds a light element to the active unit's strong attacks. Lightning Assist When this unit is an adjutant: adds a lightning element to the active unit's strong attacks. Wind Assist When this unit is an adjutant: adds a wind element to the active unit's strong attacks. Elemental Assists: The vanguard's strong attacks are imbued with the corresponding element. The elemental strength is the same as strong attacks of classes like Dark Knight and Gremory. Assists have no effect on strong attacks that are already imbued if they are of different elements (Ice Assist has no effect on Dark Knight C1). If they are of the same element, the attack is upgraded as if it was using the corresponding Essence (IE Dark Assist upgrades the Dark Knight C1). Warrior Assist When this unit is an adjutant: increases the fill rate of the active unit's Warrior Gauge. Awakening Assist When this unit is an adjutant: increases the fill rate of the active unit's Awakening Gauge. Harmonious Specials When this unit is the active unit or an adjutant: increases the damage of Partner Specials. One Heart One Mind When this unit is an adjutant: greatly increases elemental effects of Adjutant Follow-Ups. Each unit uses an element when they perform their Follow-up. OHOM increases the level of elemental effect they apply to enemies. Trust When this unit is the active unit or an adjutant: increases the fill rate of the Adjutant Attack Gauge and Adjutant Guard Gauge. Fabulously Olivier Posted August 27, 2022 Share Posted August 27, 2022 I feel like anyone with an elemental assist (see Bernie) should automatically be at least C rank. And Mercedes/Dorothea offer enough that they should probably be B rank. I'm also not sure why Felix is B when he essentially has a non-existent support ability to share, and his support toolkit is otherwise pretty average. Most of these are a result of giving the adjutant abilities equal value but giving support abilities different values. Bernie only has Trust and Ice Assist. Persecution Complex is mostly useless. (2) Mercedes has Awakening Assist, Harmonious Specials, Light Assist and Live To Serve, which is also a weak support. (3) Dorothea has Awakening Assist, Rally Charm, Lightning Assist and Songstress actually being useless. (3) Felix has Trust, OHOM, Warrior Assist and Lone Wolf, which is a situationally useful ability. (4) I could go back and give different weights to each adjutant ability. I think it would look something like: Rally Delux, Trust, Elemental Assist Rally Str/Mag, Harmonious Specials Other Rallys, Awakening/Warrior Assist, OHOM Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Surprisingly, all abilities that increase damage seem to affect the follow-up attack when the adjutant is using them. Can't verify just yet if things like Fiendish Blow affects them though. Does it depend on route? It's a survey spot in chapter 12 (I think, it has an unlock requirement) but once unlocked it's available on all routes from the go.
