How do we know whether a "Trigger skill" triggered? Like Ignis

You get a cut in and the text on the top left or right (depending on your position on the battle screen).

Oh right so its like those Critical Hits right?

Damn I've never triggered a trigger skill before. This sucks. I can't see that video you posted BTW... but its similar to that Critical Hit cut in right?

Also I realised this in 1 skirmish:

I trigged Ignis a few times myself = trigger rate is 14% due to my skill = 14.

Fred's Luna triggered a few times trigger rate 15%.

BUT Donnel being a Mercenary and all his non-expend weapon use skill's trigger is rate is supposed to be Luck x 2. Ok so his luck is 25. 25 x 2 = 50. 50% chance of triggering. However in about 6-7 times he attacked or was counter attacking that skill didnt even trigger once. This skill is bugged? I cant be that unlucky can I? Given that I triggered Ignis and Luna several times already in the same battle.

Spendthrift is "silent", unlike other active trigger skills, because unlike the others it is not mutually exclusive.

What do you mean not mutually exclusive?

And where did you find out that spendthrift is silent? I guess the most obvious way is to simply observe the weapon uses and see how many is left after each of Donnel's attacks.

  1. Lethality (Skl/4)
  2. Aether (Skl/2)
  3. Astra (Skl/2)
  4. Sol (Skl)
  5. Luna (Skl)
  6. Ignis (Skl)
  7. Vengeance (Skl*2)

The game generates a random number for each of those abilities that you have, In that order. As soon as one of those abilities activates, it stops checking. So if you have 40 Skill and Sol, you have a 40% chance to activate Sol. if you have both Sol and Ignis, you have a 40% chance to activate Sol, and (60% * 40) 24% chance to activate Ignis, for a 64% chance to activate either ability.

At 25 skill, this is a 25% chance to activate Sol, and (75% * 25%) 18.75% chance to activate Ignis, for a 43.25% chance to activate either ability. As you can see, the benefit to multiple skills is maximized at lower skill levels.

As your skill goes up and the number of active skills you have goes up, the benefit you get significantly lowers. I wouldn't recommend having more than two, preferably Sol + some other (particularly Lethality or Astra.

How would Rightful King fit into the calculations above? It's a given what it's effect would be on the first skill, but what happens in the case where the first skill does not activate?

Say for example that you have Great Lord Lucina with a Skill stat capped at 46 and she has Rightful King, Aether, and Luna as equipped skills.

For the first skill check, Aether, would be (46/2 + 10)%, giving Aether a 33% activation rate.

But for the second skill check should Aether not activate, how would Luna calculate Rightful King?

Would it be (.67 * 46 + 10)% or (.77 * 46 + 10)%?

I'm thinking it's the first case but I just want to double check.

Both are wrong, it's 0.67*(0.46+0.1)=0.3752 (=> 37.52%) that Luna will activate.
