Primefusion
But the mapping comp helps you get better (I know it helped me over at SoS). We all learn from each other and it's fun
Chocolate Kitty
My brother from another mother Prime speaks the truth, I say give it a go at least once, you don't know what you're missing! It's a party over there yeaaaaaaaah
RNG Princess
Look at this and now look at this You can't deny the 2nd one is flawless, HoT fixed it up it looks so beautiful ;w; and it kind of tells me what I need to work on which is everything lol; trees, mountains, paths, and grass. RNG Princess
I made a big map ;w; did I do ok? I need to practice those grass paths and the desert map for Round 14 Competition: Edited August 26, 2011 by Queen_Kittylincia
deranger
The river seems too straight in the first one, it should look more random. The pathways are all really stubby and go down from villages which doesn't look random enough either. The second one's pretty good except there are no transitions between the flat sand and rough desert (middle of the map at the top).

Basically my thoughts on the first map, although a straight river isn't bad, it just looks unnatural there. Some of the mountains are cut off, while others look quite good, which surprises me because of inconsistency... Ignore me, I'm fading into another tangent... Don't really have any comments on the desert map, since I hate them quite a bit xD The transition tiles would be nice, yes, but I think you'd have to make tiles for it to actually be possible. RNG Princess
I added the river to suggest that part of the map is very special ^^' but it does look ugly, and how exactly are those grass tiles supposed to be aligned? I put them in random order, no wonder they're so ugly. and its supposed to be a Seize different Places map (like Ch.25H in FE7) and save as many villages as you can map can you tell? :3 Edited August 29, 2011 by Queen_Kittylincia
Chocolate Kitty
Well grass paths work the same as regular paths for the most part, just grass paths are generally much larger. I can't really explain via typing lol if you were on skype still this would be easier..., but it's the same basic principle as normal paths. Of course, paths in general are difficult to look right... eh I'm such a fail
RNG Princess
She's made out of Tethys, Eirika, and Sophia iirc.
Phoenix
*hears snapping neck bones* In all seriousness though, it looks like a great pose, but could probably use some more work. I'm sure more GBA savvy folks could elaborate further.
RNG Princess
2 basic ideas for animation ^^' Based on older dancers/mage knights: Mage Knights is using ranger class animation, because imo Rangers could use Rath's/Sue's class animation instead. and Dancer using skeleton's animations, those legs are hard to work with. RNG Princess
How can I make her look like she's running and not walking?
RNG Princess
Totally copied from FE4/5 Does it look better? ^^'
Celice
It looks a lot more like running, but it's also very juttery. Maybe the GIF is switching frames too slow, or the animation should have a couple more to smooth out the movement...?
RNG Princess
They aren't aligned correctly and one of the frames was misplaced ^^' i'm wondering how to smooth it out and make her look like she has a sword while running Thank you for the feedback btw
RNG Princess
My first custom ^^', she's based off Sylvis from Berwick Saga (but she doesn't look like her QQ). What class does she fit best? Edited September 18, 2011 by Queen_Kittylincia
Joerachi
Ehehhyyeaaaahuhhhhh It has issues. Hair and Chin are pillowed all the way across the sky. Headband has no definition whatsoever. I really don't think you're ready for FCing yet, I'd keep splicing until you think know how the sprites shading and anatomy. After every, say 1-2 months, try your hand at it again. RNG Princess
YAY Peggy ;w; I have to learn how to shade Ehehhyyeaaaahuhhhhh It has issues. I really don't think you're ready for FCing yet, I'd keep splicing until you think know how the sprites shading and anatomy. After every, say 1-2 months, try your hand at it again. Kriemhild
My first custom ^^', she's based off Sylvis from Berwick Saga (but she doesn't look like her QQ). What class does she fit best? That... actually looks pretty good for someone's full custom sprite. Obviously, you still need more practice but if this is your first attempt at FC, I'm sure you could make some really amazing ones in the future. YAY Peggy ;w; I have to learn how to shade QQ is it her face thats weird or is it the horrible shading/pillowing? This looks like a nice improvement. Her face doesn't look weird, unless you didn't want her to look timid. But yeah, it still needs more shading and pillowing, which will probably take quite a while... Nanami Touko
YAY Peggy ;w; I have to learn how to shade QQ is it her face thats weird or is it the horrible shading/pillowing? It's pretty much the whole thing. The face looks the best out of all of it, but the nose is undefined, and the shading around the face is bleh. And her eyes don't match, which is really weird. They shouldn't be identical in shading, but the difference between them shouldn't be that apparent. The hair shading is so magnificently pillowed and unrefined. Good effort, but... it's really not that good, sorry. Her face doesn't look weird, unless you didn't want her to look timid. But yeah, it still needs more shading and pillowing, which will probably take quite a while... Pffft, Proto. But yeah, it still needs more shading and pillowing Wait... ... still needs more... pillowing ... what? Thor Odinson
Goddammit Proto, pillowing is something you want to AVOID in spriting, not get more of. ._____.
Kay
Hey, it's really nice of him to try to help. Clearly he went out of his way to do so. Nanami Touko
Hey, it's really nice of him to try to help. Clearly he went out of his way to do so. It's not help when it's wrong. All that does is slow someone down. Go white knight elsewhere. I can't tell when i'm pillowing..Thank you all for the nice comments ^^' i'm not good at spriting but I won't get better unless I practice. @seph, thank you so much ;w; now I know what to work on Pillowing is... well, they've got a tutorial for it hanging around somewhere. http://www.natomic.com/hosted/marks/mpat/shading.html Right, this works well enough.
