3DS save using 2.2.0 encryption (like FE:A) is decrypted

By the flash-cart "MT-card" 's Launcher v2.1.

This means

1) Dumped save can be converted into a flash-cart compatible one.

2) You can restore any flash-cart compatible save into legitimate carts regardless of any cart's unique ID.

3) By the "legit cart - flash cart - legit cart" conversion, you can duplicate one cart's save to another.

I am guessing this requires a 4.5 3DS, just like Gateway.

Man, and all those saves I have...

...feel free to mess with any of those if you want.

There's just no way for me to have fun with it without bothering you though.

Maybe you should test one and take a screenshot with my MU on it to show you can decrypt saves.

I recommend this one:

The Lunatic Casual File on the top is my main one.

I want to see any decipherable names on Unit Data for MU (original and logbook) in a hex edtior xD

Really, I'm interested in hacking Wrath, Gamble, and Focus on Masked Marth Lucina to see if they really are hardcoded not to crit.

Or see if there's a byte in the save file controlling the attributes of the unit... like how Outrealm ones have a blue aura and/or coded not to have cut-ins.

IMAGINE GENERICS WITH CUT-INS.

I apologized that I hadn't mentioned the following informations:

In conversion, MT-card re-encrypts the decrypted save with Flash-Cart's universal Key-Y immediately.

So I can't get the raw data.

BTW, to decrypt-re-encrypt the save, MT-card needs to read the save's original cart ID (usually in the ROM header dumped from the source cart).

Eventually, it won't even be 4.5 dependent since saves can be put on SD cards without the aid of that flash card.

You're forgetting about that AES-engine that encrypts with a key unique to the NAND of your 3DS.

It will not recognize it for the digital copies.

Until smealum releases SSSPWN, I guess I'm going to have to keep my hopes down.

I was just wondering if we could ever edit the save file of the game, if we could give MUs hair colors they normally wouldn't be able to use.

I wanna give my MUs red hair like how female Robin has as an alt in Smash.

Latest news:

It's available to export the decrypted cart/digital saves now.

Cart save

1) Install SaveDataFiler CIA version into MT-card's emuNAND (GW is NG).

2) Dump the game and save, then load them with MT.

3) Run SaveDataFiler to export the CTR card save. It will be stored as several separated .dat files.

Cart save - CFW version

1) Install SaveDataFiler CIA version into CFW.

2) Insert FE:A Cart and run SaveDataFiler to export the CTR card save.

Digital save

1) System Transfer the Digital game into GW/MT-emuNAND.

2) Run SaveDataFiler (CIA or 3DS) to export the Digital save.

3) SystemTransfer-back the Digital game 7 days later. (Optional)

Self-tested injecting FE:A JPN decrypted save into FE:A USA.

Only Global.dat (which includes Support Log, Renown, Logbook, etc.) works properly.

You'll get Blackscreen when you try to load any playthrough.

BTW, Logbook also causes Blackscreen if you have stored any Japanese Einherjar/MU inside it.

Assuming the data format or something got changed with the English font and/or the voices bit flags or something.

Just like how Maniac Mode got turned into Easy mode in FE9 causes freezing in FE10.

(New bugs)

- Japanese MU in Support Log causes crashes or halts. Creating a new playthrough (to replace JPN MU with created local MU) fixes this problem.

- Most of the children's hair color and face become weird in Support Log. Saving a children-existed local playthrough or recruiting children fixes this problem.

You must find out where the hair color is saved for MUs. You must do this for me.

Man I hope the Gateway has the same feature for decrypting dumped saves like MT Card does.

EDIT: Got the Gateway. Now waiting for the darn 9.2 update. :(
