  1. ... people played like this? Have you ever played one of these before? Or maybe started one yourself? What you see above are maps from a game I was doing several years ago. The second map is from chapter 4 were I stopped (the first is from C2, the last from C8). It took just too much time (~1-2 hours per turn, editing the map and calculating the damage as well as writing the text and updating everything else) and if the other players are not interested in RPing, well, it doesn't motivate much. So, anyways, as written above, have some of you actually played these forum games? Back in the day when FESS still was a thing, I know there were a few really good ones (especially the one were they traveled throughout various gamingverses... Worlds Collided or something like this?).

  3. Well, I didn't feed the kills to a single unit, but if the level ups proc like no strength, bleh. =/ Anyways, I am now at chapter 12. After just rushing through and not trying to feed kills to certain characters (especially Tana) I reached Amelia with relative ease. Chapter 10 was a bit tricky once the promoted units appeared (I did manipulate the RNG at one time because I had no intention of redoing a whole hour), however I managed to trap the Nomad Trooper and let Amelia chip damage him for 1/2 dmg per hit. She reached level 10 and after this chapter Neimi, Vanessa and Lute were all promoted. I made Amelia a Cavalier and plan to make her into a Great Knight, for the simple reason that I want to have at least one Character with axes. And her being on the mount now means she can actually fight and not fall behind the rest. Neimi became a Sniper, since I have no other Bow user and I would like to use Longbows. Vanessa became a Wyvern Knight for no particular reason except I don't get another Wyvern. xD Lute became a Mage Knight, because mount. I plan to turn Natasha into a Monk for the Slayer skill and L'arachel maybe into a Valkyrie. The game now became actually quite a bit easier, thanks to promotions and because I FINALLY have more then 6 useable units. I actually planned to allow Colm to open doors/chests and steal from enemies, but he is so slow that he is useless. I either completely ignore stealing or use Rennac, if his spd is high enough. Also, Natasha is currenty level 13. Does it make more sense to level her to 20 before promoting? With L'arachel I now have a second staff user (and even a third with promoted Lute), so another one who can fight might actually be a good idea.
  4. I actually could promote all three, but I wanted to train them to 20 before (Lute is missing like 10 exp and the others also have over half a level). If nothing works I'll just promote them here, since I really want Amelia now and not in chapter 13 or whenever she rejoins (as training her then would be even harder).
  5. If the items are actually worth it (so no 1-100 gold drops) I wouldn't mind.
  6. Wasn't there someone working on a FE 8 hack who was going to make custom skirmishes? I sadly forgot his name and FE project, but I definitly saw screens and I think even a small video. Edit: Ah, it was Midnight Sun!
  7. I am not sure about that. You could just leave the map if you don't like what you see. And also it would give more (each?) location also one highend battle. It would be cool to have more then 1 viable location as a potential endgame area (well, there are the tower and ruins of course, but having a change of scenerey would still be nice). Then again, even if 2 of 3 possible battles in Za'ha woods would still be level ~8 or whatever they were in the original in the last one would be level 10 promoted, if that would be your first battle it would still suck. It's just an idea of course.

  9. So, I bought both Blazing Sword an Sacred Stones on the Wii U Virtual Console. After playing through FE 7 normally I decided to spice things up in FE 8. So I started my very first "Girls Only" run. I did allow thieves and used Ephraim (and only him) on 5x but aside from that, I only used male characters if it couldn't be done otherwise (like Arthur getting attacked in C4 because he was the only target in range). It's definitly harder, even the early chapters are quite difficulty because you have such a small fighting force (chapter 6 was a nightmare if you wanted to save the NPCs). And since pretty much all of my chars decide to simply not procc any strenght but get (nearly) speed capped, well, yeah. For reference, With Str/Spd, my Characters currently are: - 17 Eirika 10/19 - 4 Tana 7/13 (joined this chapter) - 7 Natasha 7/10 (then again, she is the healer, so it doesn't matter so much) - 16 Vanessa 11/20 - 16 Neimi 10/18 (and she even got an Energy drop. She had 6 Str before I gave it to her in C8) - 17 Lute 15/14 (the only one with actually hight Mag, but she of course lacks the speed to double enemies) I have now reached C9, Eirika's route. I was just gaining control of the situation because there are just so many units I have to deal with, Archers (and that damn Sniper) who can kill my fliers, Axe suers who can kill my fliers, magic users who can kill Eirika and pretty much all of them who can 2 shot Tana. And then Amelia decided to LEAVE THE FRIGGIN MAP! Seriously, I didn't even know she could do that! So, with that in mind, are there some similar "events" later on? I am quite happy to actually get a few characters to use (Tana and Amelia this map, Tethys and Marisa the next one and then L'arachel) but boy, I am not really happy to know I also have to hurry to get to Amelia. D:

  11. We all know it will be random villager girl B which has been rescued in chapter 6 from the big mountain spiders. Hmhm, she will have her revenge now.

  13. I actually would like it to be more like a branching path, like Ephraim/Eirika. Basically, the start would be the same, but after a few missions you would have to choose a side and the following missions would be completely different. Maybe even up to the final instead of only a few missions.
  14. It would also interest me if FEXNA will have the option to create a world map with skirmishes from the get got or if that would also be something to program yourself.
  15. Yes please, Tana kidnaps Gheb and we can get him after Ephraim C9 instead of her (because she is the boss). In that case, Warrior Triangle Attack inc!
  16. Actually, any plans for the skirmishes? Completely removing them, only adding them later, let them as they are (and just buffing them here and there like all other mission)? Since the world map is unique to FE 8 comparted to FE 7 I am really interested in what your plans are for that.
  17. So, I've beaten Kjelle's Paralogue and was actually able to let her and Lucina both gain 2 levels (I think Kjelle even gained 3). Of course I was totally stupid and only saw the chests when the Reinforcements stopped spawning. Since I didn't die, I just thought "fuck this shit" and finished the map. I luckily had a single chest key, so I grab the Bullion (M) for 5,000 gold instead of the short spear. Bought a reduced Master Seal since I only have 1 at the moment and Donnel, Nowi, Kjelle and Lucina all need promotions sooner or later. Donnel is already level 7 mercenary and got D swords. Nowi is level 2 or 3 as a wyver and still has E axes.
  18. ALRIGHT GUYS, FEXNA RELEASE DATE CONFIRMED! But eh, I am happy it will come eventually. I have seen way to many such projects to just simply die.
  19. I want to use this thing already and finally be able to create my own FE game. xD Any ETA on a sort of public release by now?
  20. A more varied mission design beside "Rout all enemies/kill the boss" would be nice. Seize, Survive or even reach tile X would be a welcome change. And yeah, playing awakening without pair up is pretty much suicide. I fear enemies will be around that difficulty again. :/

  22. Nope, this is 14. FE 10 was Radiant Dawn, Shadow Dragon was 11, 12 was the Mystery of the Emblem remake and 13 was Awakening. This is 14.
  23. Waifus are great, but I can also have them with a normal support system. Mia and Marcia FE 9/10 Waifus, for example. <3
