  1. Do you guys think it'd be cool if some Fe7 characters returned in the Fe6 part?

I think it'd be awesome if Lyn showed up as an exclusive to the Sacae route. They could shed some light on how her character developed over the years.

She could come as a pre-promote with weaker stats than early-game myrmidon/sword masters, but also have the Mani Katti.

I feel like this would kind've make sense because didn't she lay low and go back to Sacae at the end of FE7?

  2. If you recruit Percival in Ch 13, it seems you automatically get the Knight's Crest at the end of Ch 15. Several members of his NPC army were defeated when I recruited him in Ch 13 as well. Despite this, I still got the Knight's Crest at the end of Ch 15.

Please note, I deployed Percival in Ch 15 and he was not defeated. I'm not sure if these two factors influence whether or not you get the Knight's Crest.

  3. This has likely been discussed in the past, but is it possible that FE6 had map inspiration from FE5?

Maps 6 and 15 of FE6 look nearly identical to maps 6 and 15 of FE5.

What is even weirder is that they the seemingly identical maps correspond to the same chapter numbers.

Edit: never mind FE6 CH 7 looks like FE5 CH 6, not both CH 6s. So the numbers don't completely line up.

I know that there are some differences, such as more locks on FE 5 map 6 and parts of the castle being inaccessible in FE5 map 6, but still, the maps look pretty close.

  4. Good read. It was especially interesting to learn that some of what makes it into ninja fiction is loosely based on real ninja history.

It's pretty easy to see how the hand signs and incantations are interpreted the way they are in fiction. Just take what the magic that they were pretending to do in real life and make it actually work in the fiction.

The real-life earth ninjutsu doesn't seem too far off from the earth ninjutsu in Naruto.

  5. Does anybody play Blazblue/plan on buying Blazblue Central Fiction?

Blazblue is my favorite fighting game (I suck at it), and I love the Serenes Community.

So I think it would be really cool to catch some members online.

Does anyone who plays want to share gamertags for when it comes out (Is this done in topics or PM)?

I think Central Fiction is cross compatible between PS3 and PS4.

  6. Yeah, I remember Final Fantasy Versus XIII as well. Back then, it seemed super hype since 2006 coincided with the Kingdom Hearts popularity explosion. Just in general, more action RPGs were a big deal.

Seems that people are hype now too.

Out of curiosity, did anyone pre-order the Ultimate Collector's edition or know when it went on sale?

  7. I'm not sure if anyone else feels this way, but I always pick her for the Spiky Hair option.

That's my favorite anime look (probably passively influenced by DBZ) and the Male Kamui doesn't have that option.

Plus the hair goes over the eye which I think looks sick with the Spiky Hair.

I picked Female Robin for the Spiky Hair too.

  8. Does anyone know if changes were made to the difficulty of Fates as it was localized? Is one localization harder/easier than the others?

For example, Blazing Sword had tweaks in the US release such as switching from a Rune Sword to a Light Brand for the Cog of Destiny boss. Also, bosses often received stat decreases in the US version.

Path of Radiance had Mania difficulty removed and gave Swordmasters, Berserkers and Snipers their typical critical hit bonuses in the US version.

For those who have played multiple versions of the older games, do the difficulty tweaks make much of a difference? I'm sure FE9's Mainia difficulty is significantly more challenging, but do tweaks like the one's mentioned in FE7 make a noticeable difference in the difficulty?

For example, would you play the Japanese version of FE7 over the US version for the extra challenge?

I'm mainly referring to this link:

  9. Like you said, inevitable end might not be too nuts on player units given the nature of player/enemy characters. It may be useful for powerful bosses though.

Have you tested Entrap with Staff Savant out of curiosity? I bet you could basically just move gradually and pull enemies in one-by-one to make things really easy.

These all sound like they were really fun to mess around with!

Great Post! Everything is well-organized and the info sheds a lot of light on the specifics of each skills mechanics!

  10. That is an interesting idea. Lucina's support with her sibling was all about inheriting her weapon. When you finally realize that the sibling can inherit it, it is a little disappointing that they cannot use the Falchion.

From a gameplay perspective, I still think it's a bad idea for the reasons stated above.

However, your perspective takes into account story which is also important. It's important to consider all angles to see the full picture.

I like the idea of earning it through an A or A+ support. It's always motivating to progress when the rewards are high (i.e. Regalia)

  11. Personally, no.

It's a fun bonus for the Heirs storyline, but unique weapons make characters standout. The kids already have a stat/class advantage over their parents. The regalia weapons give the parents a potential edge, making it so that the kids aren't straight-up stronger.

What about you? Do you think they should?

  12. I first heard him in The Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel as Jusis. He did a pretty amazing job there, if I'm being honest. I didn't recognize him in Fates, though. Which character did he voice?

Also a little bit of confusion on my part: The voice of Nyx sounds exactly like Cassandra Morris (i.e. like Edea Lee (Bravely Default and Second) and Sophie (Tales of Graces), but I can't find her name in the credits. Strange.

I made the same mistake with Nyx. She sounds almost identical to Cassandra Morris. It can be hard to tell the difference between voice actors sometimes. I'm just now learning to differentiate Matthew Mercer and Troy Baker. Luckily, for the latter two, they each voiced Tatsumi Kanji in the Persona 4 Anime for roughly half the episodes each. That gives a nice side-by-side comparison because it's the same character in the same show. The next best you could get would be them reciting the exact same lines.

Though, admittedly, I'm not learning the difference from watching each voice actor's performance of Tatsumi Kanji.

  13. I'm glad Fates has a lot of voices I'm not familiar with. I know the dub had a mixed reception, but I found it very refreshing to listen to. It has some of my favorite English VAs and I found a few new voices I got very fond of. For example, the actors voicing Takumi/Hisame/Niles, Sakura/Charlotte and Leo/Forrest/Kaden were a joy to listen to. I hope I get to hear more of their works in future. (I don't know if it's a shame so many, if not all, of the actors did several roles for the game, but some of them have very impressive ranges. It really makes me appreciate the work they do.)

I think Awakening's dub had a few new voice actors, too. I recall having similar feelings about it.

I couldn't agree more. Fates had an excellent mix of old and new voice actors. Everyone in this thread makes a good point. The new voice actors really got to show off their cords! Given how big of a game Fates was, this may be very good for the new actor's careers

Can Anthony del rio still be called new? He seems around long enough to have voiced Kratos but Pit was his first major role. After uprising I always wanted to hear more of him so I was happy to see him doing two roles in Fates.

I don't recall hearing Takumi before.

Takumi's voice actor Roger Rose has been around since at least the 90s it seems. Apparently, he played the goatee guard in Avatar the Last Airbender Season 3, episodes 55 and 56. That plus Takumi gives a great example of what he can do as the guard sounds gruff/manly, whereas Takumi sounds more like a teenager.

  14. Awesome man! What game are you working on or is it confidential? If you have a deep voice, you could probably play the cool tough characters like Travis Willingham, Chris Sabat and Patrick Seitz (though Patrick Seitz has a more "badass" than "cool" quality. Hell, you may even get unique roles based on if your voice sounds very different like Beast Boy's voice actor (forget his name)
