  1. Unless you're having major trouble, just wait to promote until level 20. As stated by some above, it will allow for more efficient experience gain and more stat gains.
  2. Why didn't Almer and Layla recognize Alicia? Wouldn't they have seen here in Chapter 7 or something?
  3. Glad to see that the Chiefs are playing well so far. Not. 2 straight turnovers will do that.
  4. Keep up the good work. It's so nice to see you working on a hack that's top tier after certain past games.
  5. Wait, what do you mean, Moulder's protecting her? Knoll's a guy...right?
  6. FE6: Peak: Chapter 13. Very fun chapter as far as game play goes, and an important turning point with lots of intrigue for the story. Bottom: Ilia Chapter 19. What happened here...oh, right. Nothing. FE7: Peak: The whole Bern arc. Great storytelling going on here, good game play as well. Very enjoyable as a whole. Bottom:Leila tells the group that Elbert was the second lord in all of Lycia to answer Darin's call to rebellion, and then the game never gives us any more info on that subject. FE8: Peak: Last Hope. A Fire Emblem defense mission that effectively conveys desperation like it should. Very well-designed, difficult but fun map. Also, Lyon's death. He was a great character, and his death scene was very well done. Poor guy... Bottom: Two Faces of Evil, Eirika Route. This is why we need brain doctors in FE. Because Eirika obviously needs one. FE10: Peak:...Gotta be honest, this isn't a popular opinion. But I loved part 3 as a whole. Not 3-8 though. That chapter sucks. Bottom: 4-5. We really didn't need Oliver to make a return. So why did he? Also, very tedious chapter gameplay-wise. FE11: Peak: The last several chapters were cool, I guess. Bottom: Most of this game is boring. So...most of this game. FE13: Peak: The first half of the scene where Lucina attempts to kill Robin (before Chrome arrives). Bottom: Chapter 23. Today's lesson is on proper storytelling and not randomly cobbling stuff together so that it will fit the narrative. Seriously, Awakening. FE14Conquest: Peak: Chapter 25. Difficult, good story. Etc. Bottom: "Well, I just so happen to have this orb which just so happens to have the power to reveal the true self of your father, who just so happens to be a literal sludge demon in disguise. And it just so happens that this can only be viewed by someone with immense magical power, but I just so happen to have immense magical power." Storytelling! FE14Birthright: Peak:Probably Elise's death. Legitimately emotional in a series that struggles with emotion. Bottom: Xander's reaction to aforementioned death. Can't have a villain follow the obviously rational choice of action, compounded by the fact that is his sister's dying wish for him to change sides. Nope, he's a villain!
  7. Awakening>Fates, in my eyes. Fates has better, more enjoyable gameplay, and its aesthetic feel is comparable to, if not better than, that of Awakening. However, the story and worldbuilding of Fates make Awakening look like a masterpiece, and as one who highly values story (even if I'm horrible at producing actual critique), that kinda ruins the games for me. So yeah, I like Awakening over Fates.
  8. Initially, I would've said Xander. However, Ryoma is better in terms of gameplay, and story. Especially [spoiler=Lategame story spoilers] in their respective death scenes. Xander went out like a mindless idiot, Ryoma at least retained his honor and died in a way that made sense.
  9. To be fair, that's one person out of 30 E4+Champion. 78 really strong trainers sitting on their butts in the first six generations if you count gym leaders. Though at least the Unova gym leaders fought Team Plasma once.
  10. Pretty good first update. Informative, and pretty humorous as well. As for units, Lance and Alan are probably the only non-Roy units worth using. In fact, if you support them together, it's not unreasonable to use both. The others all suffer from various problems that are somewhat crippling to their potential. And yeah, archers aren't great, though Tellius does have some of the best, along with adding in a crossbow (1-range weapon) to make them somewhat better. Keep up the good work.
  11. Makalov summed up part of it pretty well. A not insignificant portion of Plegia's population was voluntarily sacrificed to Grima. And while the Spotpass paralogues are a nice way to retcon this whole issue, I don't think they carry a lot of legitimacy, nor do they make sense. But hey, it's Awakening. And Awakening has never been very strong on legitimacy or making sense.
  12. I'd say Ephraim. Story is more enjoyable and more of a story as opposed to just going around fighting stuff. Like FLR said, Ephraim's route does have two pretty difficult maps, but only one is really bad on normal mode. Plus there are some very minor story differences later on and Ephraim's is slightly better in that regard.
  13. Aww, dude, don't let Ross die. :( But don't replace Franz, he's looking pretty solid.
  14. You basically just summed up my feelings on Awakening's plot. It mostly follows typical FE formula, and it does so in a mediocre fashion, but it's not terrible because it followed typical FE forumla.
  15. Just a heads up, you can quote multiple posts in one singular post. Just in case you didn't know, so that you won't necessarily have to make as many posts and you can compress stuff a bit.
  16. Just fyi, for the future, you might want to cut down on how much info you include. Chapters can take 20 turns or longer in the late game, so including all the details of what everyone does will become laborious not only for you to type, but also for us to read. Just give a general summary of what's going on, point out important stuff, etc. Just a suggestion. Also, use both Artur and Lute. Like Matthew said, they use totally different types of magic. Lute specializes in having high magic and decent speed, so she'll basically be a glass cannon. Artur is more well-rounded, but if you promote him to Bishop, he gets a very useful ability for late-game.
  17. So, basically, you get teleported between universes to find a Mudkip. GG, game.
