  1. I like it. It harkens back to quite a few JRPGs I grew up with and it adds a fun layer of world building to the game. Huge step up from the barracks in Awakening. The face rubbing stuff is weird and I've kind of outgrown the more blatant fan service, but they're not game breakers for me. As long as those things are kept to a minimum this is an idea with huge potential.
  2. Using the same engine for graphics gives them the chance to expand upon/improve in other areas, including adding details that Awakening didn't have (feet). I'd rather have them focus on gameplay and story then throw out a perfectly fine engine after only one game.
  3. The avatar is most likely going to be back in some way, just based on how popular Awakening was (yes, it get mauled to death here on an hourly basis, but the people here are a minority). If this is the way they do it, I'm ecstatic. Making the avatar the lord character outright is obvious, prevents them from competing with another character for narrative space, and will allow for storytelling more in line with what older games in the series did.
  4. Am I the only one who didn't really see all that much of a difference between Awakening's support system and the one's in previous games beyond being able to marry at any point rather then just in a throwaway line at the end? Incidentally, I'm fine with marriage as long as they keep it in the background and give me options for different files. As for the Avatar? Keep them, with the caveat that they just take the lord position for themselves or be a background unit. Awakening's hodgepodge compromise between the two didn't work out well.
  5. It's normal, it's natural, it's a safe and fairly harmless way to deal with horniness as long as done (like anything else) in moderation. I'm not particularly interested in hearing about your kinks or tastes, but what you do with your sex life is none of my business unless it involves harm to others.
  6. I forget what chapter it was specifically, but the chapter in RD where you have to rescue those villagers from the swamp and the game robs you of Jill to add fake difficulty was infurriating. There's also the Black Knight fight in PoR, but everyone thinks that was bullshit.
  7. Because having a teenage girl stomp around in heavy armor impaling things on her rocket spear is comedy gold. Also, she has some pretty good supports. If you don't like using trainies or are ant-grind? Probably not your speed. Ultimately comes down to personal preference.
  8. If I had to pick three from this game specfically? 1.) Snipers: Good for Bowfaire, not much else. I like versatility in my units and barring pair up/ galeforce abuse, these guys don't really have what I want. I like bow users, but I'll stick with Assassins and Bow Knights for my needs unless I just really like the Double Bow. 2.) Swordmasters: Oh how the mighty have fallen. Without the crit+ skills, swordmasters are nothing more then inferior Assassins without bows. Sure, they get two fairly decent skills, but there's no compelling reason to not just go to one of the many other sword weilding classes that have better stats or more options once you get them. 3.) Great Knights: Speaking of good skills on a bad class, this thing has two of the better skills in the game with Luna and Dual Guard+. If you like to optimize you will be sending so many units through this bulked up abomination that you will be sick of it. I think the big reason I don't like this thing is that it's just so supurflous. If I want a high movement unit on horseback, there's the Paladin or the Bow Knight or any of the flyer classes. If I want a Tank, I've got General. Great Knight wants to do both and triest o make up for its master of none status with a complete weapon triangle, but even that isn't enough to make this class worth staying in after you grab those skills. Besides, if I want a mobile tank, I'll just use a Wyvern Lord. It's what their there for.

    Hello

So, might as well get the ball rolling on this, eh? My names Northwind, real name Joe and I've finally desided to come out of the shadows and join in on Serenes Forrest. Where to start? I guess I've been a fan of Fire Emblem since the mid-2000s or so. Got into it with Sacred Stones and it spiraled off from there. I've currently played through every Fire Emblem game released in America, and have enjoyed each one of them, with enjoyment ranging from ( 'good game' to 'one of the best games I've ever played.' I like a challenge when gaming, so fire Emblem fits right in with other franchises i like (the Souls series, Shin Megami Tensai). I've found even the easiest of the games in the series to be fun though, so I'm not going to be looking down on anyone for liking what they like. Outside of gaming, my other hobbies include fencing, historical european martial arts, reading, and writing. I'm currently working on finishing up a BA in history and sociology, after which I plan to pursue a career in public health. I think that's enough to start off on. I hope I can acclimate well to this place.
