  1. For Hector, there isn't really a reliable way to get copies back. I suppose you just gotta play it right and keep Hectors when you absolutely need them. This means taking damage and then when they amass a field, you discard so that they don't hit ya. The problem with that is they can still crit you. Well, anyone dies to a crit anyway so it's kind of a big deal.

Correction: Cost-1 Archers can't crit you, as you'll be at least 20 higher than them. Of course, they can solve that with any +10, so it's not that big.
  2. Topic says it all. There's a whole bunch of characters in Cipher, and only so many are that great as MC. Divine Weapons had good expectations, but ended up being yet another supporting Insignia, like Mark of Naga. Both have good potential for Main Characters, but each have their own issues to overcome.

And if you want, add how you think they can be made viable. Or overpowered. Choose one, choose both.

    I wouldn't mind a viable Ryouma, though.

  3. Alright, since Mark of Naga got their support (and needed it badly), I'm gonna guess it's gonna be like, Gaiden, Sacred Stones, and Hasha, which may result in eVEN MORE MARTH EMPOWERMENT.

... not that I mind. Femui's still in power, so seeing more potential for variety wouldn't be bad. I myself wouldn't mind a Roy MC being viable, either.

    something, something, MagicScrumpy

  4. Awakening is only one game and it stands on its own just fine.

only one game and it stands on its own just fine.

stands on its own just fine

    holy shit what

Aside from added utility in stall decks, Mark of Naga does not add much to decks. Lucina is too slow to play due to the inherent nature of Class Changing, Lissa is now left a corpse after the coming of better MCs, and Itsuki's still not that great, compared to the likes of Marth, Elise, Lilina, Femui, and Ayra.

Compare this to Blade of Light, who not only thrived right off the bat, but now has an incredibly powerful MC, and moreso with the advent of Thite. Chances are, Marth'll improve when Set 7 releases more Divine Weapons cards.

  5. Not sure if this is the place to ask, but do black and green cards have good synergy? Or do they not work well?

    ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Medallion, much like most of its fans, tend to circlejerk about itself, so it generally doesn't synergize well with other Insignia. What kind of deck or Main Character are you attempting to build? That tends to make or break certain combinations.

  6. I think switching them would be a better idea. I wouldn't particularly like to see a unit fly half way across the map because there's no available space for them to land nearby. Alternatively make it a version of Shove so it requires more set up.

forced switching (and maybe also lowering of shield gauge?) sounds pretty valuable, without being too crazy

maybe on a very brute force, non-high movement class?

  7. Here is an idea I had for a different Fighter line. I'm going to shameless copy other peoples' templates because I like pretty data tables.

Sort of, as of Fates they have 15 speed growth which puts them above most Nohrian classes and tied with most Hoshidan classes. Perhaps it could be said that have slightly above average speed.

    if it works, it works

A little above average doesn't really put them into speed category, but I suppose it could be attributed to "swords need some way to compensate for lower damage output" also what non-speedy sword classes are there

    [spoiler=Stand proud!]War Magus

    Promotes from: Dark Mage

    Weapon Proficiency: fefates-icon-tome.png (A)

    Role: Defense

Description: Practiced users of magic that have taken to the frontlines, their stout defenses keeps physical weapons at bay, but magic easily pierces their armor. While not as slow as Dark Knights, they nonetheless will not easily double enemies.

    Skills:

[Lv. 05] Armsbreaker - +15 Hit/Avoid when battling enemies wielding an Axe, Lance, or Sword.

[LV. 15] Hellbreaker - Skill * 1.5% chance for half of enemy's Magic (if a physical weapon is being used to attack) or Strength (if a magical weapon is being used instead) onto final damage.

  8. three speed-slanted swordfighting footsoldier classes; Mercenary, Myrmidon, and Thief

I mean, can you really call Mercenary speed-focused?

I'd think of it as like, the base version. Anyway...

    [spoiler=Stand proud!]Centurion

    Promotes from: Lancer/Spear Fighter, Mercenary

    Weapon Proficiency: fefates-icon-sword.png (A), fefates-icon-lance.png (A)

    Role: Offense

Description: Leading the charge into battle, the Centurion valiantly strikes down foe after foe, and can easily wipe out enemies foolish enough to attempt attacking them. Though they lack the extreme Speed or Skill of Swordmasters, they make up for it in durability and Strength.

    Skills:

[Lv. 05] Strong Formation - When initiating battle while being the leading unit in Guard Stance, +3 damage dealt/-3 damage taken.

[LV. 15] Parry - When dodging a physical attack at 1-range while not initiating battle, inflict damage equal to [Enemy's MT+ Unit's STR - Enemy's DEF] back to the enemy.

  9. Is flipping bonds face up really that gamebreaking on the competitive metagame? Does that resonate as well with Nowi and Cost 2 Tiki as it sounds?

Well, Femui4White (aka Corrin (Female), Final White Flame) has the nice ability to summon a 70-attack card every turn for 2 bonds. Some Flip 1 effects are pretty good on certain cards, like Lena3, Elincia4, Clarine3, Yubello/Yumina 3s, and Lilina4. If you could unflip the costs for all of those effects, then that's some CRAZY value there! (t. TrumpSC)

Also, I saw Anankos at 50 Yen. Hot damn.

    RIP you

  11. Personally? Depends on how you play the game.

If you're cancer as shit, and love to cheese your opponent with crits, that's Marth. Enjoy Thite crit.

If you're bad (like me), and go for the long game, Ryouma and Ike have you now.

If you're bad (like LoY and I), play Lucina.

If you can't decide between Hoshido or Nohr, play Femui.
