  1. *Axe Fighters won't attack Aira in the spirit forest because she has too much avoid. They'll just move next to her and block the way. That's something unique in FE4 in that you can actually have stats that are too good.

*Unarmed Aira is a pretty decent Jamka bait indeed. Being immune to criticals and having high avoid is worth a lot.

*I wouldn't say that Aira does particularly well in the second half of Ch.2 ... she can like help out a bit but she won't kill anything except mages without an Astra proc and she gets 2HKOd by everything. Road tiles also means she gets hits by a lot of shit, including those stupid ballistas.

    * She's legitimately good in Ch.1 though if you recruit her way over to the west right on turn 5.

actually in general most of the footies like Ayra and Holyn would be higher than units like the Chalpy Knights, Cuan e.t.c. if this was the case

Aira is still the squishiest of the squishy and gets like 2HKO'd by shit left while failing to ORKO anything without an Astra proc [unpromoted]. Unpromoted Aira is legit not a good frontliner for the most part - Azel has more consistent offense than her, for example, because he hits res and can safely attack from 2 range.

Cuan with his HP, defense, raw offense, 2 range options, access to the Hero lance, support with Ethlin and chances to proc Continue would still be better on the frontline than Aira, even if we didn't regard mobility at all. People seriously oversell Aira's offense and underrate how poor her defenses are. Unpromoted Holyn is also only insignificantly more consistent than Aira is because his defensive specs aren't trash.

  3. I hate them too. As it if wasn't bad enough that they're a horde of violent crackpots, they're also casting a slur on an otherwise righteous cause. It's a huge disservice to all the people who are actually legitimately worried about the increasing tolerance towards fascist tendencies these days. Fuck those idiots, they're only making matters worse.

I would say English is the worst example.  I can't think of another language that has been so bastardized from its original form.

Not sure what makes you think that english has been more 'bastardized from its original form' than a lot of other languages. In that regard the worst offender is clearly Latin which in its original form -as spoken by the early roman tribes- is borderline unintelligable when compared to the Latin of the Catholic Church.

  5. Turnbull has already suggested that in case the USA withdraw from TPP China could take its place instead. If that's what going to happen the role of the USA in the pacific would be severly compromised.

Trump being unable to communicate like a grown man surely won't help his case here.

  6. Holsety has one downside though: it can increase Levin's Spd to a point where enemy units will refuse to attack him altogether. If you park him on a forest, a village or a mountain tile enemy unit may legit stop considering him a viable target which can actually hurt his enemy phase. Not a very common occurance but it can certainly happen and it's pretty bad when it does happen.

Also, we should move on to rating substitute units next imo.

    That's actually quite pathetic.

Trump has displayed his blatant incompetence on several occasions during the election campaign for everybody to see. Why people would regret their choice all of a sudden now that Trump actually keeps his promises [or at least tries to] is beyond me. All he's doing is trying to implement what he's been talking about for a long time now, people who voted him must've wanted it to be that way.

    Pathetic.

anyone who voted third party is complicit

    Wrong.

Just because the entire Trump administration has turned out to be a basket of deplorables doesn't mean Hillary would've been an even remotely decent candidate to vote for. And she's not more entitled to Stein's or Johnson's votes than they are to hers. You don't get to blame 3rd party voters for how this election has turned out.

Apparently a bunch of people (at least in YouTube comments and the newspaper I got today) are saying that Trump should have banned Saudi Arabia instead, because it apparently funds terrorists (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Apparently they also say they didn't ban it because they get oil from it. What do you guys think about this?

Starting with the Mujahideen in Afghanistan, over Al-Quaeda - a terrorist group founded by Saudi citizen Osama bin Ladin - and to the Islamic State the Saud Kingdom has supported, and indeed still does support, several terrorist organizations with money, arms and ideology. One of KSA's most influential imams was even quoted saying that their ideology was the same as the Islamic State's, the only difference is that they disagree with their way of spreading it through violence. This attitude can be seen mirrored very clearly in the societies of countries that turned away from a rather secular outlook to a much more extreme kind of religious conservativism - Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are the most prominent examples of countries that have undergone a strong islamification of their society under the influence of Saudi-funded missionaries and preachers over the last decades. Right now similar tendiencies can be observed in certain areas of Malaysia, Indonesia and -worse still- in Bosnia which after the war in the 90s was completely left to rot by the EU. Meanwhile Saudi Arabia started to fill the idological vacuum in the area by building salafist mosques - reports from people in my circle of acquaintances that have bosnian roots have it that there are areas in Bosnia where women can no longer walk the streets without wearin a hijab. I can't personally confirm this claim though.

It's generally worth pointing out that the countries in the ban-list don't have particularly strong affiliations to international terrorist groups except in Lybia's case, which is entirely the west's fault. Iran, for example, is often claimed to be one of the main exporters of terror yet none of the many terrorist attacks carried out by radical islamists since 9/11 is the work of an iranian citizen. Iran also directly combats IS in Iraq and is one of Al-Quada's sworn enemies. The terrorist groups supported by Iran - Hamas and Hizbollah - are not international players and have overall very limited influence and power. This stands in stark contrast to Saudi Arabia who provided 15 [!!!] of the 19 terrorists that carried out the 9/11 terror attak.

These contradictions in the relationships between the USA and Saudi-Arabia are well known among people who concern themselves with geopolitics and contemporary history. The USA's utter dependancy on oil forced them into this contradictory position where they had to pretend to be completely blind towards the Kingdom's ambitions. Some of the things Trump said during the electoral campaing raised hope that he'd continue Obama's more distant policies towads KSA but the Kingdom's absence on the ban-list renders that hope obsolete.

It also has the really dumb side effect of banning certain people who have never set foot in the country they banned due to naturalized citizenship that you cannot opt out of. If you were born in Western Europe but your parents are from Iran, you're a naturalized Iranian citizen, and despite never having set foot in Iran you can never come to the US. That is another facet of the executive order that has come under heavy scrutiny.

From what I could gather this already started to have quite an effect, even on the gaming community. The well-known dutch smash 4 pro player Mr r, who is of iranian heritage, is said to no longer be allowed to enter the states.

If it was a Muslim ban, Saudi Arabia would've been on the list.

Saudi Arabia also would've been on that list if it had anything to do with stopping terrorism. They're the world's #1 exporter of islamist terrorism after all.

So why aren't they on the list? It couldn't possibly have something to do with the Trump's commercial interests as an enterpreteur, right? 'Cause that'd totally be a conflict of interests that should instantly disqualify Trump as POTUS ...

It's really nice for the pegs but Altenna's flying work is pretty superfluous.

I'm not arguing specifically for Altenna's case here but just the way flying in FE4 is looked upon in general. Fee being better at doing the same things as Altenna is a different matter - that's Fee just being the better unit but flying is still a very useful ability that doesn't get its fair share of credit imo.

  12. 4.5/10

She'd be more appreciated if she wasn't locked to Grustia Castle. I don't know who thought that it was a good idea to do so but it's a pain in the dong to recruit her, it wastes turns to do so and doesn't even make sense storywise. She should've been locked to Thracia Castle and everything would've been fine. Probably the worst game design mistake in the whole game.

Her combat parameters are ridiculous and contrary to what people keep claiming her flying utility is a great asset. It's useful in both Ch.10 and Endgame and should totally be held in her favor. It more than compensates for her lack of road bonuses, especially if you're doing RescueDance strats and bumrush the remaining maps with Leaf, Leen, Aless and Celice - leaving behind most of the party anyway.

She's the only unit I know of that can oneround KO Alvis - with a speedring and the Gae Bolg odds are around 10%, I don't think anybody else can do that [though I personally prefer Aless taking him down to 4HP with odds around 20%].

  13. Fee still has all of Ch.6 and Ch.7 to use the Hero Lance for herself and get the +Mag/Promotion she needs to go to town with a Magic Sword.

Fin doesn't strictly "need" it but at some point somewhere between Ch.9 and Ch.10 he'll start benefiting massively from having it and the difference between him having it or not becomes obvious. Before that he'll do just fine with any Lance via his base stats though. But by Ch.10 you should have enough powerhouse / 50kill weapons in your inventory to give Fin back his good ol' Hero Lance.

  14. Fin comes back as a pre-promoted Duke Knight with a 50+kill Hero Lance and the Prayer Skill. What a pal.

    13 hours ago, Zeems said:

Unfortunately he won't keep up for very long and his brave lance is Fee's, but he's certainly helpful to keep around.

Fee, being the best Magic Sword user in the game, doesn't need the Hero Lance. She'll either have the Critical skill on her [Levin, Noish or Jamka are her father] or enough Mag on her to never really need Critical in the first place [Claude or Azel are her father].

  15. Shanan x Patty is good because it's fast and allows Patty to distribute the money Shanan makes among units who need cash. Shanan's very self-sufficient, he won't need a lot of money himself so he should be able to donate a good 15k amount of gold to the pot at the beginning of each chapter

Aless x Leen is good because it's fast and it allows Leen to make some good money without having to go through the arena herself.

Leaf x Nanna is good because it's relatively fast and convenient. Once Leaf promotes their movement matches, which means they'll often provide lover bonuses to each other which increases rates of dodging, landing hits and proccing crits.
