  1. You guys might be on to something important. Keep researching please.
  2. I'd never want to have my children have Cynthia as a sister. Having such an ignoramus as a sibling isn't something I'd wish to anyone at all, actually. I think all the children characters would make for great siblings.
  3. You'd have to have 100 in your secondary attack stat make to RFK equal to a weapon faire when it's RFK+Ignis vs. Faire+Ignis. The same as for the enemy having to have more than 100 def/res to make RFK+Luna be better than Faire+Luna. In a world with Limit Breaker, RFK can't compete with against Luna and Ignis. Results might change if you include Aether. Whether Ignis+Luna or one of either and a faire are better depends entirely on the situation you find yourself in. Let's assume you're using a physical weapon. The choice between Luna and Ignis is easy. Compare your own magic to the enemies' defense. if your magic is higher, use Ignis, if not, use Luna. Entirely dependent on the enemy. if you give me exact numbers I can tell you which one of the two setups you mentioned is better in certain situations.
  4. Vaike's Nah has these base classes: Knight, Mercenary, Thief, Mage, Wyvern Rider Unique skills which must be inherited: HP+5, Zeal, Despoil, Gamble, Rally Strength, Counter, Wrath, Axefaire Skills available: 40 Mods: +5 Str, +4 Def, +1 Skl/Lck/Res Mobility: Movement+1, Deliverer, Acrobat. Pass Physical offense: Strength+2, Axefaire, Rally Skill, Rally Strength Magical offense: Magic+2, Tomefaire, Rally Magic Offensive utility: Focus, Lethality, Wyrmsbane, Luna, Zeal, Despoil, Gamble, Counter, Wrath Defensive utility: Defense+2, Dual Guard+, Rally Defense, Pavise, Bowbreaker, Sol, Axebreaker, Lifetaker, Swordbreaker, Lancebraker, HP+5 Generic utility: Odd Rhythm, Indoor Fighter, Armsthrift, Patience, Lock Touch, Tantivy, Slow Burn, Quick Burn, Lucky7, Gamble As you can see, she's very flexible and can adept to any role very quickly, as well as stay good at that role. Edit: Underappreciated characters for hardmode run: Vaike, Kellam, Lon'qu, Gaius, Anna, Cherche, Say'ri, Tiki, Basilio, Flavia, Are these enough to make it work?
  5. I think it's better to do it the way you did. Getting experience from paralogue 1 to make chapter 5 more stable.
  6. That's impossible. You quoted the epilogue yourself. It states that she left during the winter.
  7. I don't know what is exactly written in Tharja's and Lon'qu's s support. You posted this in the OP: So I assumed that this is the content of their s support, because it doesn't make logical sense to mention it as the ending when it's not their s support. My bad for being wrong. I'm having trouble rationalizing what you're getting at - with the OP - in this case. What's wrong with leaving your partner from time to time?
  8. I've been thinking of starting a really chill hard mode run with average characters. I'm going to use Kellam, Cherche and Gaius for sure. Who do you think is under appreciated as a character?
  9. Read your own OP. It's written that she left time and time again. This means that she returned time and time again. They never broke up. How you interpret this part: out of their s support is beyond me.
  10. I don't have a terribly large amount of experience with Sully, but in one of my runs, I put very much effort into her earlygame (she was planned to be Chrom's spouse from the start). I ended up giving her a second seal very early and reclassed to Myrmidon. Everything was fine for the first half of the game, but after the Valm arc started, I couldn't deploy her as a frontline unit anymore - she was stuck with supporting Chrom out of fear of dying. I believe that Cavalier and it's promotions will be more benefitial for what you want to do, partly for reasons which you already mentioned. Wyvern Rider is also interesting since she gets innate Discipline.
  11. Two possible scenarios which would be interesting are: 1.) Ten 1v1's, with or without Limit Breaker. 2.) Our team of 10 units versus a single pair by the opponent player which is being deployed with state of art optimization, with or without Limit Breaker. Which one should we go for?
  12. I'm trying to work off your Cordelia and +mag/-str avatar here. They'll easily annihilate all enemies if I give them both Limit Breaker, Rallies and All+2. It's pure brute force, it will work. The question is, do you think it's fun? Personally, after the tenth run with my apo challenge team I'm starting to get sick of brave weapons.
  13. More feminine than any woman... but he's a guy!

  15. Indeed. DLC skills make it much easier to skyrocket one's units' performance. Just put Limit Breaker, All+2 and Aggressor on anything that moves and watch them go~! To add to that, conditions includes the weapon triangle. Hero's can use Axes and Swords. Zerker Avatar uses Axes. Cordelia can use her Axe against enemy Lances. The lances will fall to the double Axe combo of Avatar and Cordelia. Cordelia can use her Sword against enemy Axe users. Avatar doesn't care. Again we gain WTA. Doesn't look like much, but the weapon triangle is a big deal, as it reduces the damage and accuracy of the enemy. Gaining WTA is similar to gaining a free S rank support (sans dual strike/dual guard percentage increase). Notice how the enemy's weapon rank bonus is being suppressed as well. Applying that to your personal avatar, maybe a war priest with bolt axe would be okay for a magic based Cordelia? I don't think it'll be awesome or anything, but it might be interesting.
  16. The only guys who ever have listed crit against my units in apo are the great knights with crit skills in wave two (three groups in south-western corner of the map, NS is the boss unit, wave 2). I don't consider solidarity to be worth it for only the 10 dodge. I never used the pairing in post game, but I'd imagine there are many working iterations of it. Hero/Falcon Knight/Bow Knight Hex, Anathema, Vengeance, Galeforce, Limit Breaker Hex, Anathema, Vengeance, Galeforce, Lancefaire or Speed+2 Cordelia has crap magic. Her mod is -1 there. Her magic growth is bad. I never went to the trouble of making her a Sorcerer for anything other than skills. Same for Dark Flier. Thankfully Dark Mage skills are so broken that she is still on comparable power level to some of the weaker children. It allows Avatar to fully focus on brute force, disregarding hit. Berserker Avatar: Strength+2 Axefaire Hit+20 Solidarity? ... That's as far as I get.. Avatar as physical support loves to get Hex and Anathema himself as a Berserker. Maybe Sniper Avatar is good. They both love to provide the Dark Mage auras by themselves, so I'm having trouble finding good sets for the two of them in tandem.
  17. Don't give up. Homosexuality is a great thing, let it blossom wherever it may. This is the 21st century after all. Use Lucina's Dual Strike+ to balance the loss of S rank. Same works for Chrom. FOLLOW YOUR HEART! I'm hetero sexual, just for the record.
  18. Generally, 1 or 2% of Dual Strike isn't a big deal, but if you lose percents to not having Limit Breaker, or utilize classes with low skill stat cap or a combination of these and other smaller but similar reasons, then it will make itself apparent soon enough.
  19. A supports aren't as reliable as married couples, that's all.
  20. I don't know what meta you're talking about since the game didn't evolve in any way since it's launch, but Virion has Archer, Mage and Wyvern Rider available to him. He is very versatile with +2 skl, +2 spd, -1 lck, -2 def as mods. He can't help improve his children to the point at which they're top dogs, but they'll be decent at what they do, at least that's my impression.
  21. This looks to be a good starting point. I wonder if the AI recognizes Charm, Demoiselle and similar skills as a bonus the same way it sees forts, thrones and wood tiles. The main point of auras would be to keep the team together. Does Anathema accomplish that? I don't think so. 10 hit is nice to have at least. 10 crit is not worthwhile since all crit will be negated by the enemies' luck. Charm is +5hit/avoid. Will that really make a difference in the end? I'd use it if it keeps inspires the AI to keep the formation closed, but I don't know if it does. Maybe Miracle/Vantage/Vengeance is worth a shot? Chrom might be useful in a mounted class, with Aether/Luna/Aggressor/RFK/<filler> I wouldn't give a rally unit any weapons. It's purpose is to rally each turn and die if attacked. That is a very obvious weakness. If it stays in the rear, it won't be able to support the front. If it stays in the front, it won't be able to support the rear. Is giving a few other units a second Limit Breaker worth sacrificing 20% of our combat strength for? it might be. Movement seems to be the only way to gain anything reminiscent of control over the team. It might turn out that half of the 10 movement team spawns together with half of the 6 movement team to turn it into one big mess. Do we have to make a single squad of 10 which operates with the assumption that is has 2 out of 3 factors at the ready? For example: Bond, Anathema(or other auras), Rally? Since the AI is stupid, is there even a point in trying to work out specific team comps when all they do is mindlessly rush into the enemy to the best of their abilities? Overall, I think Hero is the best physical class. A tank unit could have Ragnell, Res+10, LB and two other skills to make use of. Is this hypothetical unit good enough? Assuming we deploy a General: How does it fight back? It doesn't have the stat caps to survive 12 fully powered attacks by a single pair of units. It needs to be able to do something while it's taking that damage. [...] Is there meaning in trying to fight and win against four pairs of Limit Breaker'd, Rallied, S-Ranked combat pairs operated by superior human intelligence? Telling the player to fight without pair-up through any means and building on the basis of that might be a path worth considering to take. Just like in the beginning of this thread, it's necessary to determine the enemy we're optimizing against, otherwise this'll progress nowhere.
  22. Dear diary. Today, people started complaining that Tharja isn't stalking her husband on every step. Did hell freeze over? Clearly she must be a horrible person and cheat on him on a regular basis (or something). You guys should read their S-support. It's obvious why she doesn't cling to him.
  23. From personal experience; If you like setting up crits: Use a staff bot with Anathema/Solidarity next to Noire. Skills: Vengeance, Dual Support+, Wrath, Bowfaire, Limit Breaker If you don't want to rely on rng crits, exchange Wrath with All+2. To make crit good, one really needs to balls to the wall with forges and all kinds of stuff. But I believe it's worth it. Though relying on multiple die rolls is dangerous in it's own right. This is why I like Vengeance. It's very reliable to go off and deal huge damage even if one does not crit. Incidentally, Wrath works wonderfully with Vengeance. Even Thronie craps his pants whenever he is about to get crit by a Longbow. I've been there. It's not as unlikely to happen as one might think, especially with Limit Breaker. Exploiting Olivia to the max is a given.
  24. I'm just thinking a bit: Reading #98 makes me think about creating a team which has synergies among it's units like a squad instead of everyone recklessly suiciding into the enemy without regards to their own life with the intention to kill. They don't have to necessarily work as a 10 man group, but maybe two groups of 5, or something similar. Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to use rallies. If we can manage to keep our units stay together, then the effect of rallies is more pronounced. Even a good player will have trouble fighting fully rallied stat capped units with limit breaker. With regards to that, I do not know how the AI behaves in such cases. Will it decide that it's beneficial to stick together if there is an aura like Demoiselle in place? In secret Apotheosis, going for a tank lineup is not doable because of Luna+. Players do not possess Luna+. Does this mean tanks are viable in streetpass? Not really, since 100% dual strike slices them apart. But we do not have a chance to beat a person who has enough skill to utilize 100% dual strike to begin with. I'm also feeling a bit sad about the legendary weapons which weren't utilized at all. Ragnell is an awesome weapon. Maybe it has a niche use? Why can't generals use swords?? Looks like Manaketes and Heros are the best tank classes, or am I wrong?
