  1. I don't get why Nintendo of America hasn't released yet FE12 since they released FE11. I think that if Nintendo localized FE11, then the most logic thing is to release its sequel. It's as if having released FE9 but haven't localized FE10. Where's FE11's "second part"? I'm sick of seeing how Nintendo releases "every second" "happy games" sticking around with the "mii", "wii", and "u" terms. Where have FE games gone to? Nintendo is now clinging to the "make a harmonious familiar environment". That's ok, but where do we, FE fans, end on? Playing games from two, four, six years ago? I think it's time for them to make a serious announcement about a new FE game. Besides, here in Colombia, Fire Emblem isn't really famous and only ten out of a thousand people know (but rarely plays) FE, (I guess I'm the only colombian member in SF...lol ), and to have a game I must occupy my aunt in Puerto Rico (I'm waiting for my DSIXL since last Oct. and for Radiant Dawn since past June). Sigh...still waiting...sigh.
  2. I think both Titania and BEXP abuse. There's no playthrough I don't have Titania, mainly because of her good growths as a pre-promoted unit and the great support she gives the Mercs at the beginning of the game. Also, characters have both decent growths and stand for long on the battlefield (if well used, I mean knowing all character's virtues and weaknesses) against the enemies that are relatively weak, taking to the point that non-promoted enemies have better stats than the promoted ones, as an example Ch. 17, I guess.
  3. Right. Most of the time, Lucius with 30 res receives illogical damage from other bishops, sages, druids and valkyries and these ones double him with capped speed. I've calculated according to damage calculations and bonuses and, arena enemies do colossal damage. And yes, they're like morphs just as Sonia and Limstella in FE7...Hopefully I can write/load states in no$gba.
  4. Canas's appearance (no glasses please) and "thirst" for "magic". Also Pent's personality. I identify myself with mages. Sometimes Soren (cold-minded), Ilyana (only when starving, no sad-looking).
  5. Totally in agreement. It is all about logic; if someone needs a hand and seeks advice, the most logic thing to do is recommend characters that'll do fine in the playthrough. Recommendations must be for the best units. Then, it's up to him to choose which suggestion best suits his inquiry.
  6. There's no absolute truth about anything. Opinions and suggestions are subjective, therefore, they lack real knowledge or truth. Realities are also both subjective (personal) and objective (global), and there's no reason to turn a subjective matter into an objective one, especially since out of a thousand people, one can deny a statement. A class or character can only be good by the reality the game (RNG) offers to the player. Suggestions just leave traces, but not all of them are followed.
  7. What if Canas caps Mag, Skill and Speed and has a B support with Pent? Wouldn't that be +1 Atk, +2 Def, +5 Accuracy, +10 Avo and Crit. Evade of full bonus, and also a double hit against the fire dragon? Thinking about it, I feel encouraged to begin a new playthrough with no arena abuse.
  8. I totally prefer Canas than Athos for casting Luna. Aureola takes more time to defeat the dragon.
  9. First of all, the last thing I would do is to give a swordmaster a secret book or a speedwing, I think it's a disrespect to the class since their outstanding stats are supposed to be both skill and speed. In the other hand I don't think Stefan is stronger defensively since Mia and Zihark have up to 21 and 17 levels, respectively, to gain better defenses. It's ok about Stefan's bases but the two myrmidons have more chances to raise def and res; keep in mind their promotion gain for def and res are +2. In my opinion, both Mia and Zihark are fine as Myrmidon/Swordmaster, however, I always go for Zihark because of his Earth affinity that comes somehow handy for Ilyana. Regarding Rolf and Shinon, both of them have a decent outcome, however, their availability is what marks them ferociously. Shinon starts excellent, he's almost on par with Titania. His bases makes me sad, his growths are fairly good, his early role in the game is really of vital importance but his "retirement" pushes him down to an abyss. Nonetheless, a blessed training may adjust things. Rolf's availability may be early but his bases aren't adequate for the chapters he makes appearance. He's a little pain in th....(for the first chapters), never mind; but his training may turn in a positive outcome. However, his training is really stressful when dragon riders and ravens come to the battlefield. Besides that, nice stats for Ike. Anyhow, I would've dedicated more work for Boyd's skill and speed. In my playthroughs he always capped skill and speed, have in mind that I gave him one speedwing in Ch. 5.
  10. Sure about it, I just consider Canas as a help/support unit unless he gets ridiculously blessed, and as though, I abuse him having a B support with Pent. Both of them are my favorite characters, especially Pent, however I acknowledge they're not the best.
  11. Eirika x Saleh Seth x Natasha (mostly if she's valkyrie (white horses)) Lute x Artur Tana x Ephraim Marisa x Gerik
  12. Lute - Sage (more capped magic) Natasha - Valkyrie (I pair her with Seth. As they "marry" Seth persuades Natasha to love white horses lol) Artur - Bishop (Slayer and higher res than sages) L'Arachel - Mageknight (I don't usually like redundant classes) Tana - Wyvern Knight (Pierce, higher spd and avo) Gerik - Hero (higher skill, I don't like Rangers) Colm - Rogue (Pick) Joshua - Swordmaster (To follow her mother's class heritage)
  13. I choose Marcus. He has good availability, gets S rank really quick, especially if tanking. However, his growths aren't fairly good, his bases, a bit low in comparison to other lance users that may promote with a dedicated and blessed training. Well, Marcus is the main character's right hand, he is sent to battlefield to have news for Eliwood, he plays an important role in the story (Eliwood's loyal knight) and also he clears the path from enemies that menace your weakest units. Rise up, Elibe's Poseidon!
  14. Hector's the best. He's strong in both Str, Def, and Hp. He handles axes very well, especially when promoted. He has stats of a General, but however. Another option may be Bartre, if well trained, go for it.
  15. Seriously, just use your blessed magic users. My favorite character is Pent and his level ups were above average (3-5 stat ups per level up). It's up to your experience with mages.
  16. I voted for Canas since he's the only dark magic user in the game (Athos is only an endgame character). He's really useful and efficient when well trained, especially if wielding a Nosferatu tome in the enemy phase (note that making a good use for Nosferatu means having good Hp, Mag, Def and Res(relatively high). Also, Luna is an excellent option to wipe out enemies with a high chance of dealing a critical hit (20% + Skill/2 + support gains (Bartre or Nino)). All in all, Canas is one of my must-have units. Lucius does his job well done, however, his low luck and def is really tricky since he and Erk can be KO'd by two physical hits unless they have good supports and have gained points in HP and Def on their level ups. I'd go for Canas definitely.
  17. I prefer to use Boyd, he has good bases, good growths, good supports and his awesome to be a fighter and by then a warrior because he has both nice stamina, str and high skill and speed, his other stats are average but somehow good; if Tempest is of matter, then remove it and try adding another skill, I usually give him Colossus only not to waste an Occult skill (without use) but it's free choice. Largo is also good, his stands with great hp and str, he caps skill in three or four level-ups and his speed is nice, but he lacks luck, def and res; so it's a risk to have him at the range of any sage or bishop, worst when equipped with bolting, purge, etc... In fact, I recommend using Boyd, he's better in my opinion and has better luck and def stats than Largo; nonetheless Largo is also nice but he lacks defensive stats. I defenitely go for choosing Boyd.
  18. I think that to make a good comparison, you should make both objects equal to see who's better, it's insane to compare a sage with a still mage, where the sage obviously wins, but it's unfair because maybe the mage could be better sage than the already sage and to have a balanced and fairly done comparison you must first promote the mage to judge both sages and define who's best. It's obvious that a sage can heal. I've spent 8 years playing fe and it's more than obvious that for all that time I must know what is or what is not. You should know that he can attack and heal as a sage, it's absurd to compare the usefulness between a sage and a mage where you already know that is ALWAYS BETTER TO HAVE A SAGE THAN A MAGE. I think that when we're talking about healers, we are talking about curates/clerics and bishops, for that I placed Promoted Mage at the Poll; but however I recognize my mistake was to put Wendell on the poll and include him on Promoted Mages were sorcerers are also included. As the Poll says "best healer", it only stacks up to Wrys, Lena, Maria, Boah and Elice, and the other included options that are reclassed units and promoted mages. In the way that why to reclass Wendell, simply thing is, that Wendell has a better attitude as Bishop than as Sage, since he increases Res and Luck mostly. You're agreeing with my opinion, Lena must promote to be compared with Wendell and as though it goes for Merric too. Lol arena? In PEXP, arena isn't to be lolled, my lv.20 Caeda (peg.knight) has: Hp 22, Str 16, Mag 1, Skill 20, Speed 20, Luck 20, Def 12, Res 6 at the arena and without an absolute dynamic growth (reclassing her to cleric to gain more res and reclassing her back to peg). That's up to me. Totally false, Boah in lv.1 as a Bishop has better bases (not all) than lv.1 Sage Wendell. Another thing is to compare a Wendell lv.8-12 with the coming Boah. As I had said, both units must be in equal conditions to be fairly compared. When there's no balance things are harder to assume, when there's balance and stability things are easier to assume an as though to flow in the situation. And? Boah doesn't join at last chapters, he joins just in the middle of the game. The only usefulness you're seeing on Wendell is that, as he comes early and is a Sage he can battle anyone and heal, though. But, what will happen if it's Boah the one joining at C5 and not Wendell? I think you had not read my previous comments; Boah has better bases than Wendell but Boah's growths are equal and slightly lower than Wendell's, but if you're stuck on comparing a lv.8 or lv.10 Wendell with a lv.1 Boah then it's useless because obviously if Wendell is well-trained, by that time he'll be superior to Boah, but what no one wants to see is that Boah as a lv. 1 Bishop, is better than Wendell as a lv.1 Sage, mostly in base stats since growth are similar. I guess I've said this hundred times. And so are a promoted Wrys, Lena, Maria and Elice, and so is Boah. I think you both are only seeing that Wendell is the best healer because he joins as a good unit at the time he joins , he has combat abilities and doubles most of all of the early enemies with magic; yes, I'm not sayinge he's not, but also the other healers in the game have those same or better attitudes when promoted as it's Wendell. What will happen if Wendell comes as a curate or mage? As I already said, it's insane to compare a curate/cleric or mage with a Sage. You're only seeing the superficial conditions, just as a cleric/curate with a sage. But what will happen if that curate/cleric is promoted to Sage/Bishop? They might be BETTER than Wendell. It's possible and you find a solution when dedication is within you. Wolf/Sedgar can be reclassed to sorcerer and heal additional units (Duadexa, Hendexa, Unil, etc...)at the arena, they're no much problem because they have excellent growths, the only worry is mag and res. But they won't have great opportunities as Sorcerers, they're better as General/Hero/Warrior/Horseman/Berserker. Oh...I forgot to mention (but it's deductable) that Sorcerers are also part of promoted mages. Just to clear. That's my opinion.
  19. I agree, Aether in the top, then goes Luna & Flare and it follows Sol, the rest are nice but not as good as the debated ones. I used Colossus on Boyd because I hadn't the habit of having a General nor a Halberdier. I only used Nephenee but I didn't give her Luna because she had Wrath, so for example: - Nephenee is seriously damaged. - Counting that she has a good Dodge, she evades most attacks. - By evading most attacks she was a walking slaughterhouse with her Wrath+Vantage. But it's also good idea on giving her Luna, as Flare to Ilyana.
  20. You're Ike is nice but I recommend you to increase like 4 points or more on str and 2 on def. As Ike has high str, skill, speed, luck and def, try him to maintain those stats higher than the number of level. But it isn't so grave, his skill, speed, luck and res are really good, those aren't a great worry. Instead try to increase his str and def. Equip him with a Wyvern/Knight Band and switch it often with an Archer/Thief Band.
  21. Wise choice, it is better to have all of your team as a solid, bold, balanced and well-trained one than to have only one or two that are strong and the rest may be determined as weak and fragile to the enemy.
  22. I guess I don't to specify nothing at all, Lena's "nice growths" are in general by spontaneous growth of the character, Wendell is crappy because he's terrible as a lv.1 Sage, even Merric has better Skill and Luck at lv. 1 as mage. But I don't know why are we going too deep on Wendell since he's no original healer nor Bishop, yes reclass exists but Lena will have better stats by the time she heals people at the arena. In fact, if having a Bishop I do prefer Lena than a reclassed Wendell, or even though Wrys or Maria will do good; umm...yes Wendell may give a hand because he doubles almost everyone and uses magic, so it hurts since there is no clear opposition for magic. But it's ok, if you want to stay with Wendell then it's ok but well, Wendell's worst than Boah, it's only that at c12 your team is bolder than in c5.
  23. I only put the occult skill on Boyd because I prefer him to have Colossus than to having Tempest that is really risky.
  24. The thing about Wyverns was just sarcastic or ironic say, not so truly but Marcus won't stand so much because his bases are too low to be a Paladin, and a well-trained cavalier such as Lowen rushes Marcus. He's just a meattank and "savior" for me. However I respect your opinion and I'm no one to tell you what to do or not, simply I see that I could a better Paladin excluding Marcus, that's why I had chose Lowen, because in personal exp he went a thousand times better than Marcus but let us not drown in the whirlpool, we're just giving an advice so nothing goes with opposing comments. Let's just give our opinion and lets let her to choose the Paladin she wants. It's free decision, it's like: "choose between all the meats, chicken, pork, etc..." Well, Lowen actually DID MATCH Marcus's offensive prowess and DID MUCH BETTER (PEXP). In fact, each player has a personal affinity with the character, you choose Marcus (a prepromoted Paladin whose bases aren't as good as to having a lv.1 paladin) and I choose Lowen (a cavalier with nice bases that if trained to lv.20 and promoted to Paladin will KO Marcus with 2 or 3 strikes).
  25. Tip: If Ike doesn't have his skill capped then give him secret books, with every stat capped (str, skill & speed) he'll almost kill BK in two or three hits. This battle never gave me trouble, it's easy he'll activate Aether as fast as he can dependeing on his skill. If you're cornered and don't have nothing to do then try once more, this challenge is easy, you just need to wait until Ike performs Aether, meanwhile give him elixirs and heal him with Mist.
