  1. Next week scares me the most out of the remaining schedule. Brees has been going OFF the past few weeks and if Stafford waits until the 4th Quarter to show up then the Lions are going to get blown out.
  2. They had an even bigger lead in 2013 (they were 7-3 iirc) and they still managed to blow it. The Lions just have a way of breaking my heart....
  3. This has been the craziest season I can ever remember. Badford throwing that pick at the end of the game (and the penalty that led to the play) was downright surreal. I still have a bad feeling that they're going to collapse (remaining schedule is tough) and the Packers will somehow come back and win the division.
  4. I remember Toussaint when he was at Michigan. He sucked then and he's still bad now. His only good season was because the defense was so keyed in on Denard Robinson that they basically ignored him every play. lol
  5. Peyton Manning gets to end his career with one final loss to New England. Perfect.
  6. I think we're destined for a Patriots-Seahawks rematch. Only this time Malcolm Butler will force the game winning fumble.
  7. I feel so bad for Rams fans. STL was the one city that was actually trying to keep their team there and they're the ones who end up losing. I wonder if Kurt Warner is going to go in the hall as a Cardinal now.
  8. Oh man that final play triggered some PTSD from that Thursday night game. Now that the dust has settled I'd like to point out that that Stafford literally finished the season with more yards, more TD passes, a higher YPA, and a higher passer rating than Rodgers. Jim Bob Cooter the goat. =P
  9. A win next week and the Lions finish 7-9, 2 games shy of my pre-season prediction of 9-7. And if you factor i nthe two games that they had stolen by the refs (@Seattle, Vs. GB) then my prediction was right on the money. =) Season was obviously over months ago, but I'm glad they've managed to look respectable down the stretch. Hopefully the new FO doesn't blow everything up. This team isn't terrible, just needs better O-Line play and they could be in business next year. I think Stafford at the very least has shown management that he deserves to stay. He's easily having his best season since 2011. Don't wanna see Megatron get traded/released either but with his contract who knows what will happen. At the very least, next year's schedule likely won't be as brutal as it was this season. (8 games against playoff teams)
  10. The Sports gods owed the state of Michigan that free timeout after what happened to Chris Webber.
  11. Blake Bortles actually has the second most TD passe sin the league behind Palmer and Brady. Him and Allen Robinson have been quietly having great seasons this year.
  12. Its hard to even be mad or disappointed when you're conditioned to expect these things to happen... Tough loss, but probably doesn't even crack the top 10 for worst losses I've seen. Just off the top of my head from the past few seasons: 2010 opener against the Bears that ended with Calvin getting robbed of the game-winning TD. Had the TD stood this win would have ended their record road game losing streak. Losing Stafford to injury and a double-digit lead in the 4th qtr against the Jets in 2010 Matt Flynn having the greatest performance in Packers history in the final game of the 2011 season despite half the Packer's starters benched and playing against a Lions team that was desperately fighting for playoff seeding to win in GB for the first time in decades. The following WC game where they got annihilated by the Saints in New Orleans, who they could have avoided had they been able to beat Matt Flynn. Colts scoring 2 TDs in the final 2 minutes in Luck's rookie year, including the game winner as time expired. 2012 Thanksgiving game against the Texans when they got screwed because Schwartz threw a challenge on a Texans TD run, thus drawing an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and nullifying the review which would have showed that it wasn't a TD. Not to mention Jason Hanson missing what would have been the game winning FG in OT. Justin Tucker going 6/6 on field goals, including kicking the 61 yarder to beat the Lions on MNF and essentially end their season in 2013. Last years WC playoff against the Cowboys Calvin fumbling at the 1 yard-line against the Seahawks, followed by the missed illegal bat penalty by the officials.
  13. Honestly I have a feeling that the Pats win this one easily. Gronk will have the game of his career.
  14. Hahaha. No, they just don't have the luxury of playing the Eagles every week. Plus the Lions generally play well on Thanksgiving. The offense hasn't really been that much better since they canned Lombardi, the victories in the past two weeks over GB and Oakland were more because of the defense. Stafford and company didn't do much. Hopefully they continue to play well down the stretch and finish with a somewhat respectable record. 4 of the remaining 5 games are winnable, and finishing 8-8 after starting 0-5 would be a fairly impressive turnaround. Caldwell is probably gone either way but I don't want the new GM to burn everything to the ground by trading Stafford and Megatron. This team is not terrible, they just need a better offensive line.
  15. So the Lions hired a new team president today, here's an actual quote from him during the press conference:
  16. Manning's career is probably over now that he's been benched, so technically he's not a current QB anymore. =P
  17. Prime time Andy Dalton has to be the worst QB in the league. No one does less with more.
  18. you just better hope the G-Men don't sneak in with a 7-9 record as NFC East Champs. :3
  19. First time I'll get to watch Suh play since he left. Rooting for the Pats but I hope he tears it up. Motown misses you Suh! =(
