  1. TBH, for PvP, you can't make Brave Weapons less broken by reducing Def/Res more. Even if Brave Weapons set your Def/Res to 0, they would still be the most used offensive weapon as you can just Galeforce super charge(re: Flamboyant+Astra+Great Aether) OHKO two times in a row.... and technically you could have a second copy do it again. Since statues and forging are both not banned from wifi, it will remain that way FOREVER... unless you agree with friends not to do that.

Like... for the current meta, you'd have to make the condition that Brave Weapons halve Str/Mag when you initiate battle to make them not broken. Even Lightning is a OHKO when min-maxed.

That is why i dont like how they implemented forging, i understand that is technically difficult to make a +7 forge brave weapon, but in reality hackers can do it im 30 seconds and they are considered legal in pvp because is something possible within the boundaries of the game, i mean every other forgeable weapon currently is nice to an extent, it helps to characters who dont have legendary weapons to be able to be used, but braves just shutdown everything, tanking is still impossible because of that and the extravagance+line of death+aggresors skills, i like a lot of changes but still cannot understand who in all of IS tought this was a good idea, pretty sure it was a chess player.

  2. Numerically speaking, the Brave Weapons are "acceptable" of sorts in PVP (I still maintain that 4 Defense is "way too low" of a drop, though 10 may be "way too much" for PVP). The game isn't really built to handle both PVP and PVE, at least, not what PVP I've seen of it anyway (forging breaks both anyway)

    (This isn't really related though)

As much as I'd like a Nihil, I think they probably won't because....."obvious reasons".

One thing I would like, in my opinion anyway (because I still feel that Guard Stance is too strong, and the copycat puppet + guard stance everyone strategy only does the same thing)

..Two in fact, they are skills I designed for enemies in my own Apotheosis (the rest are mostly either revamped, hilarious, or "situational" skills) are related to Guard Stance. I gave them silly names as well

    Overwhelming Victory:

During User Initiated Battles, negates the effects of enemy Guard Stance

(Negates the pair up bonuses, shield gauge will not fill, also negates dual guard and passive dual guard. If the enemy has Attack and Guard Stance, enemy will not dual strike either)

    Prophesized Victory:

During User Initiatied Battles, when attacking a unit in Guard Stance, any damage the front unit takes is taken by the support unit as well

(Self explanatory, but it'd be a bit weird to kill the supporting unit and leave the front unit alive)

One other skill I designed, it sort of works like adept, and is probably too powerful as well (it was a personal skill no less!) was this

    Brandish:

When user initiates battle with a sword or axe, and the user would double the enemy, both attacks are delivered consecutively. Effect is not applied when using Brave Weapons

I was actually imagining what personal skills could the amiibo have if IS wanted to put something on them:

    Brave Lion

Provides a brave effect(not applied to weapons already with one) to a weapon, cannot attack with this unit next player's turn if used.

I was also thinking about Nihil, but it would make a lot of skillsets pointless obviously...

Or a skill like Parity to negate Guard Stance bonuses and special weapon effects, not too sure, they should have made Defensive Formation stop Brave effects since it was created.

  3. Adept in all honesty is probably too strong, unless they nerfed the activation rate to 0.5 (or 0.75)...and even then, it might still be a leeetle too strong.

(Ironic though). The number of hits does matter a bit more now since Guard Stance shenanigans

(Honestly I'd like a few more strike skills, or things like those, or with the same idea, rather than necessarily straightforward skills)

I'm not sure really, some of my skill ideas are all sorts of crazy

(It also depends on the game itself, rather than just the skills)

I always felt that there weren't enough dragons to justify using wyrmslayer/wyrmsbane outside of game that actually featured dragons (and not in the final boss sense)

It would be not as broken if they make it not work with braves, that would make the other weapons more useful in a way.

Also falchions/wyrmslayers are at least more useful in pvp since everyone is going to use the Avatar so at least there is that, and actually if they released Adept in a way that Braves dont work with it you would see more wyrmslayers around.

I mean i want an skill that provides more versatility to the online feature builds, something that negates weapon bonuses not relates to stats(brave effect particularly) would be good, or anything that encourages the use of other weapoms/builds for that matter.

  4. So the only thing that could break more the game would be if they include something like Adept, i was just thinking if they include Roy with one or a couple new skill what would they out in, and the only thing hat came to mind was Adept, imagine that with a +7 forged Brave Sword, lol.

  5. I'm experiencing issues when trying to play a hack to FE10. I've tried using both the nightmare method and the hex editor (via windhex) separately. Each time I try to play the hacked .ISO file, it gives me a popup warning saying "Invalid write to 0xfd2c2fd0, PC=0x8007840c." And each time I click OK the same warning pops up with a different invalid pointer. I've tested a clean version of FE10 and it works on Dolphin (this is all on a mac). I'm wondering if I'm doing anything wrong in the modding process or if it's the emulator I'm using, or something else.

I tried to follow the hacking process listed in the steps carefully: 1) opening the .ISO into wiiscrubber [v1.2] 2) save the FE10Data.cms 3) decompress the .cms file with NLZ77 Compressor 4a) open a clean file the file into nightmare (the numbers were not messed up so I assume the file was in the proper format) with class modules and make the desired alterations [no class caps or bases exceeded 50] 4b) open a clean file into windhex and find the same hex values for Ike that were shown as an example and make changes [in proper hex values] to base stats and growth rates 5) once changes were applied/saved, I compressed the file back into the .cms format via NLZ77 Compressor 6) load the new FE10Data.cms in place off the original inside wiiscrubber

Am I doing anything wrong here or have things just gone wrong for some other reason(s)?

As far as i know that is a common problem with wiiscrubber,i tried like 3 different versions and even if the "best" one was the 1.2 it still had issues, that is why i stick with Wiitools since even if it takes a little more to compile the ISO it will not be glitched when loaded unless is your fault of course.

I'm a little confused how to get the wii-tools and needed files. I keep finding wii-tools databases listing code commands and no downloads. Also when do I use that BatchLZStuff and WindHex?

To use Wiitools you must create 2 notepads alongside installing it, one for compiling and one for decompiling and then rename the extension to .bat, if i remember correctly there are instructions for that when you download it or you can search for a video in youtube.

I also had the same issue when trying to find wii-tools, so I went with wiiscrubber instead which I found to be easier to find and did what I wanted it to do. I use NLZ77, but I imagine it functions similar to BatchLZ.

    ~When to use the compressor~

Essentially, once you extract out the .cms file you want from the Radiant Dawn ISO (such as FE10Data.cms, I'll use this as the example) you open that file up into the compressor you have, then you decompress it into a .gba file (I name it FE10Data.gba). You can check to see if you did it right by opening FE10Data.gba into the nightmare program and using the modules. If it is incorrect, you'll see the numbers are all messed up such as -127, 201, etc. If done correctly, for example, Ike's base stats should be HP:6, STR:15, MAG:1, SKL:15, SPD:12, LCK:14, DEF:12, RSE:5. After you make the changes you wanted to make, you take FE10Data.gba and open it up into you compressor and compress it back to FE10Data.cms.

    ~When to use WindHex~

WindHex does the same things as a nightmare module, and much, much more. For instance the Nightmare modules for Radiant Dawn can only allow you to edit base stats and growths of characters and classes, and the maximum stats for classes (as those were the only ones made). If you want to edit items, class skills, and so on, you'll need to do so in WindHex as they do not have a nightmare module made for them.

    ~How to Navigate WindHex~

Here's what you need to know. The left side of the WindHex shows a long list of numbers like 00000010, 00000020, and so on. At the bottom you'll see Dec: XXX Hex: XX Bin: XXXXXXXX Offset XXXXXXXX [XXX%] Asc 'A'=41. To the right is stuff I don't get, and the middle is the hex you'll be editing.

VincentASM mentions a bunch of pointers at the start of each chapter that indicates where the data starts, this is the offset. Class data starts at 0x926C, this means 0000926C in offset terms. To find this point, scroll down to the point where it says 00009260, then move to the right until you see the offset say 0000926C.

That's basically all I know with this stuff, hope that helps.

You dont need to rename the file extension from .cms to .gba to use nightmare, just make sure that it is uncompressed and it should be fine.

  6. Those differences? That "overpowering defense"? That's just their class bases. If you immediately reclassed Oboro to Oni and raised them both:

    20/0

    Rinkah

    26 HP, 15 STR, 16 SPD, 20 DEF

    Oboro

    31 HP, 21 STR, 16 SPD, 21 DEF

    20/20 (Shura)

    Rinkah

    33 HP, 27 STR, 29 SPD, 36 DEF

    Oboro

    40 HP, 34 STR, 28 SPD, 36 DEF

Oboro, reclassed to Oni, is a better Oni than Rinkah. Rinkah's bases and growths just aren't very good.

    Marrying Asama to Rinkah:

    Asama 20/20 Shura

    49 HP, 36 STR (41), 30 SPD, 37 DEF

Now of course Asama is good at everything, but what I am trying to convey is that while 25+20 is a usable STR growth, it doesn't mean much when almost every other character has or can have better. She also has nothing to compensate for that low STR. Her SPD and DEF are good, but not overwhelmingly so, especially when many other fast or defensive units have STR or HP as well. Her HP is so low that she can't be used defensively anyways. Moreover, unlike Hinata and his inferior growths, she doesn't even have high enough bases for her to float on until late game. She's just not up to snuff with the rest of the cast.

Rinkah is not that bad because at least her peraonal skill gives her a solid +4 in damage, of course this is much better if capped since that way rinkah outdamages almost every 1st gen with that, i think what kind of stresses me is that with a 10% more growth in strength she would be much better, IS should have gave her Villager and everyone would be happy.

  7. I've seen a +6 Brave Sword before, let me see...

    Brave Sword +6: 16 Might, 90 Hit, 10 Crit

    Forges are consistent.

    Player forges anyway......

(At least, until there's evidence to the contrary)

Braves do use their effects on Dual Strikes (on player phase only, of course)

By regular weapon, if you mean debuffs, weapons don't debuff their user when the user is support unit

Crap, i hoped it was not too high, but it has the same power as Yato and also doubles, what the heck was IS thinking when they made again Braves forgeable into a +10 MT? I suppose PvP is like a chess game with Brave weapons...

Is there any option when battling to customize the rules? like no forges or something like that?

  8. To be fair Rinkah may suck(well it kindah does) in regular play, but can be useful in PVP, altough the only useful stat it has is a +1 SPD her personal skill is one of the best, giving her a +4 in damage, so in a sense when activated is like having +3 STR and +4 MGC and if i remember correctly with tones you can activate it easily, making her a great unit when capped especially for mixed sets.

  9. So I want to know if the amiibo can be used in the avatar logbook and if they keep their personal weapons or so, i have not played the game yet since i am waiting for the english version, but i thimg there is a way to power up your units something related with statues or so, if that affects the amiibo in someway i would appreciate if someone tells me, thanks in advance.

  10. Tuning counts as a Rally, right? If so, I'd do this:

    Jakob!Shigure:

    Tuning

    Rally Speed (from Shigure's Pegasus)

Rally Resistance (from Jakob's Rod Knight class inheriting to Shigure)

Rally Defense (from Azura's Pegasus Knight becoming a faction parallel for Shigure)

Rally Magic (marry Shigure to Mitama)

Rally Luck (marry Shigure to Mitama)

A complete 5-skill rally bot, no logbook/MyCastle skill buying needed, no DLC needed

Rally spectrum does not stack with the other ones anymore?

  11. I don't think the Speed Drain skill item has been made available, in spite of existing in the game data.

It is very possible for it to be included in a dlc, tough even if she never gets access to it is not that godlike on her because aside from having speed mods, and a fast class her Falchion also has a nice +3 double attack threshold, so she is doubling almost everything anyways.

And lets be honest Great Lord has the best skillset of the amiibos by far, is not like she needs a skill of one of their classes, she is better with something like Aggresor to patch up her average damage, if only she could get Ogre Strike...

Kamui (and I would guess it applies to Kanna as well....and any of Kamui's children) are always weak to dragons

Same deal with Nishiki/Kinu/Flannel/Velour always being weak to beast weapons, the same happened in the previous game where the weakness is tied to the character

I tought so, but just wanted to be sure, thanks.

  12. Thoron

    12 Mt, 70 Hit, 10 Crit, 1-2 Range 0 Avoid, Critical Evade +5, Resistance +3

It's Robin only, of course, bleh

I just need to finish Lucina's and I can compare and describe..maybe...

    Update 1.01

So I finished them, after crunching a few numbers

Marth and Lucina are both fast (and kinda overly strong as well, what can you say). Lucina has slightly better resistance

Ike and Robin are both slow, and both have 1-2 range. Ike has defense, Robin has resistance, in a "attempt" to balance things out.

Realistically speaking Ike is more of a tank, Robin, not sure...

Marth and Lucina would probably reliably 1rko stuff for you then

When you look at their growths overall, Ike has "the best" overall growths, followed by Marth>Lucina>Robin. Robin's low speed and defense kind of hurt him, though he does have 45 Strength and 55 Magic growth...for what it's worth

Lucina's lower growths are "compensated" by her better resistance, more or less.

In general their growths are fairly balanced anyway..somewhat, Robin kind of gets the short end of the stick when you only count Str/Mag

Let me calculate their 20/20 Stats...

Marth and Lucina both cap Skl/Spd/Luck

They're both pretty similar, though I think Lucina has a slightly advantage

    Marth has a 3 HP, 4 Skl, 6 Luck, 3 Def lead

Lucina has a 4 Str, 2 Spd, 7 Res lead

Ike probably isn't going to double except slow enemies (Generals<Great Knight<Dark Knight<Revenant Knight<Wyvern Lord, or roughly in that order), and even then he might not make it with Ragnell (With Ragnell he can only double 17 speed enemies)

His resistance is only 10, but I suppose his other stats are pretty nice

Robin's main problem is that he has only 21 Speed with 20 Defence, kind of like Orochi if you ask me

Do you know if the effect of Falchion's damage boost against dragons applies to Kamui even when not holding a dragonstone? it should but i just want to confirm.

If they could use that empty skill slot that would be too godlike(well just a little bit), sadly is not the case.

The personal skill slot is special and stays empty, so amiibo units and prisoners get five. Which is odd, since ememy Faceless often have Miracle or Pass in their personal skill slot.

I've found that Ike's personal weapon is handy, as 1-2 weapons that can double and crit is a huge deal in Fates, and Ragnell has higher Might than every 1-2 weapon other than Ginnungagap. I just wish I could take it off and give it to someone faster, as it's a great weapon.

Marth has the edge over Lucina because of his ability to access the other DLC classes. I just adore Speed Drain, too, ans Lucina's the only Amiibo who can't use it.

Robin has Rally Spectrum, so you can use him has a Rally bot and for chip, I guess.

Actually Speed Drain exists as an item, so in that sense they are equal, also Awakening is by itself is better than every skill that Marth has, and his Falchion altough slightly weaker lets her outspeed almost everything.

  13. Lucina seems to be the best of the lot his personal weapon lets her double pretty much anything alongside a nice +2 inherent speed mod, Falchions are supposed to be super effective against dragons, so it could be useful for pvp since everyone uses Kamui, and also Great Lord comes with pretty good skills, especially Awakening and Aether, they would be much better if you could reclass them mostly for skills, and next i am unsure if being a female amiibo is that good, the thing is it looks to have better skills, nice mods and a respectable prf weapon going for her, but because of being female she does not have acccess to any of the other amiibo classes.

Ike has one of the few 1-2 physical range swords in the game, and it packs good damage, it suffers from speed, but you still are able to use Katanas with him to patch it or reclass to Lodestar, and Ike is the only one that can have Aether and Ignis for skill stacking without wasting limited resources(since grandmaster is basically limitless), its main problem is still the speed since you would be forced to waste the Lodestar item so he can patch it( he could be a nice Lodestar).

Robin has the best overall prf weapon, the thing is aside from that his class is the least special since you can have limitless Grandmaster items, unlike Lucina it does not have godlike skills going for him or mods, and unlike Ike he needs more "resources" to obtain more skills.

Marth has usable mods, but even if his falchion is stronger it will double less times than Lucina, his skillset is nothing special, it has free access to Grandmaster like Ike tough, but wasting a Vanguard item seems more costly because of Aether, as gameplay I think it should be nice, but with capped stats it seems to be inferior to the other ones in its prf weapon, skillset or mods.

Depending of the Roy class they could become more useful since is another class to grab skills(tough not for Lucina).
