  1. I personally like the numbers she gives Flannel. She boosts Velour's Spd up to +2 and her Skl to +1, while Flannel boosts Shigure's Str to +3 and his Def to 0. Deere also likes her, but he likes Charlotte more for the Str and Fighter access. She and Ignis balance each other out, but maybe too much so, it would make both kids mediocre. She has a neutral mod in both Str and Mag, and gives great speed, so she's pretty much Lon'Qu alongside Setsuna. Her Mag growth isn't actually THAT bad, at 25%, and it could be fixed by kids like Foleo with crazy Magic to begin with.

Well, not many need Spellcaster unless you want to give everyone Breaking Sky which IMO is unreliable on mages.Orochi is either A)Used on a mixed character such as Deere(Though he mainly is offensive Orochi just lets him be more of a support)and Gurei or B)A mage who wants to be better such as Ophelia in IK and Shara.

    Felicia is used with A)Mages who are going to also be doing something with healing or B)What should be offensive characters who got screwed over by their parents including Midoriko(Which is where I tend to put Felicia)and Eponine who are mainly going to use magic weapons such as Shining Bows and Shinrai Pikes.

    If you are playing Femui by the way, Felicia IMO should be the single female.(Or Rinka if you don't have a tanky child for her)

    Thanks for the info! :) Yeah I was thinking of Breaking Sky xD but I realised Orochi gives Shara the Puppeter class so maybe I'll think about it, even though I like Felicia mods for Shara better than Orochi's. And I'll be playing as Mamui so sadly I'll have to marry all the girls in order to have all kids

  4. Yeah Felicia could be good too, but I generally put Felicia else where but she can still be goof with Shara.

    What's a good place for Felicia? I thought of her because I want Sakura to marry Saizou and not sure about where to put Orochi, but I don't want to waste the Spellcaster tree on Shara who already has it :/

  5. Well, the reason I consider Orochi great for Gurei is..

    1)Orochi and Saizou seem to have an established relationship since they are seen together a lot and join together

    2)Gurei is weird and has great Mag

    3)Purple hair is awesome.

    For a set-up, I would say the following:

    Orochi!Gurei@Jounin

    -Kunaifaire

    -Breaking Sky

    -Astra

    -Swallow Strike(From Matoi or Kanna via marriage or Saizou A+ Subaki)

    -Aggressor

    I definitely recommend making him use an Explosive Shuriken or Felicia's Ice Tray for maximum affect.

    Oh I thought that with this nerfed spd and str and good mag he was suposed to end up as smth sifferent than a Jounin. What could be another possible good mother then? I'm not sure of choosing Orochi now, but idk if other mothers are worse xD

  6. Can someone explain me why it is considered Orochi a good mother for Gurei? I know he has a high MAG growth but talking about final mods and grwoths, best class and skillset?

    And if someone could also tell me other great mothers for Gurei I would be really pleased! I really like Gurei (I love Gaius) I want him to be the best he can!

    I'm not sure if what I ask is already explained in this topic but I couldn't really find anything really deep about it when checking (not checking really good bc there are 58 pages xD)

  7. Well, the topic creator was considering Hoshido, so if Kanna wants to end in a class where she can actually use her personal skill she'd be ending as a White Blood.

    Unmodified White Blood Stat Caps (only really relevant if a cap is rammed against or if grinding to caps):

    60 HP, 34 STR, 28 Mag, 29 Skl, 30 Spd, 33 Lck, 31 Def, 28 Res; A rank swords, B rank staves, A rank stones

    Dragonstone (which her personal skill encourages the use of) runs off of magic. Let's consider a magic asset as an optional here (although Hinoka!Matoi as was being considered earlier drops Kanna's magic growth by 7.5% if the (Mother+Child)/2 guess is correct, from 30% to 22.5%. Although since growths also include class growths its really 40% to 32.5% in actual growth in this case, such that she'd still have 81.25% (relative) of her original growth rates. Obviously, if Father+Mother+Child is right instead then Kanna is in a slightly better situation here, reaching or exceeding her original base growth of 30%). And hey, Matoi improves both of Kanna's defenses and boosts her HP growth substantially regardless how the growths inherit; for they do obviously inherit, the only question is the exact formula for it.

    But anyways, growths don't matter once the caps are reached, if the caps are reached, and Kanna does have a decent starting magic personal base anyways and Dragonstones have high might.

    Back to the mods:

    +MAG: +4 MAG, +2 Spd, +2 Res

    Now, we would like to try to keep the defensive mods Matoi gives intact if Kanna is going to be using her Dragonstone. Consider -LCK; Dragonstone also gives +10 crit evade anyways. Yes, this slightly hurts STR and MAG, but let's see the result:

    +MAG/-LCK: -1 Str, +3 Mag, +2 Spd, -3 Lck, +2 Res

    +MAG/-LCK Hinoka!Matoi!Kanna: +0 Str, +3 Mag, +2 Skl, +2 Spd, -3 Lck, +3 Def, +4 Res

    ---> 60 HP, 34 Str, 31 Mag, 31 Skl, 32 Spd, 30 Lck, 34 Def, 32 Res; A rank swords, B rank staves, A rank stones

    So this makes for a nicely rounded Kanna with no sub-30 stats. Dragonstone cannot double anyways so SPD isn't too important, except for preventing being doubled…. Dragonstone happens to assess -2 SPD when equipped, so the +2 SPD mod offsets that. White Blood had quite high luck (33), so we can take three away from it in the flaw without hurting her that much.

    Now, alternately, if we were willing to engage in some defensive mod clash…. you could also consider the high defenses that Matoi gives as a place where you can eat into it with a -DEF flaw without actually putting Kanna into negative defenses, allowing for higher offenses.

    +MAG/-DEF: +4 MAG, +2 Spd, -1 Lck, -3 DEF, +1 Res

    +MAG/-DEF Hinoka!Matoi!Kanna: +1 Str, +4 Mag, +2 Skl, +2 Spd, -1 Lck, +0 Def, +3 Res

    ---> 60 HP, 35 STR, 32 Mag, 31 Skl, 32 Spd, 32 Lck, 31 Def, 31 Res; A rank swords, B rank staves, A rank stones

    Everything is still kept at 30 or above. Defenses are weaker, but both offensive stats have also increased.

    So it does not look that bad at the end... it all depens of the asset/flaw finally, doesn't it?

    Btw, sorry because my English is not perfect but is there any reason why you choose MAG as an asset? Do Dragonstones work with magic now instead of strength? :O

  8. I don't have a list of all the mods, but I can give you Hinoka/Oboro!Matoi (the formula works the same as in Awakening, so add in your own desired assets and flaws thereafter for Kanna).

    The problem with growth rates is that we STILL don't know how they actually work. It seems that (Mother's Growth's + Father's Growths + Child's Original Growths)/3 might not be the solution, but this still isn't confirmed. There is also suspicion that it might be like (Mother's Growth's + Child's Original Growths)/2, but this needs confirmation. When I say Mother's Growths, I actually mean "variable parent's growths".

    Matoi's Personal Growth bases before parents's effects (will be used in the below formula):

    55% HP, 35% Str, 15% Mag, 40% Skl, 40% Spd, 45% Lck, 35% Def, 20% Res

    Hinoka!Matoi:

    +1 Str, +0 Mag, +2 Skl, +0 Spd, +0 Lck, +3 Def, +2 Res

    Growths:

    Matoi's growths' after considering the effect of the parents, under various ways of growth inheritance

    If (Mother+Father+Child)/3: 51.6% HP, 36.6% Str, 16.6% Mag, 43.3% Skl, 35% Spd, 36.6% Lck, 38.3% Def, 21.6% Res

    If (Mother + Child)/2: 50% HP, 40% Str, 15% Mag, 40% Skl, 42.5% Spd, 42.5% Lck, 35% Def, 30% Res

    ---> Before parents, Kanna has:

    30% HP, 35% Str, 30% Mag, 40% Skl, 45% Spd, 45% Lck, 25% Def, 25% Res

    ---> Hinoka!Matoi!Kanna's growths if (Mother+Child)/2:

    40% HP, 37.5% Str, 22.5% Mag, 40% Skl, 43.75% Spd, 43.75% Lck, 30% Def, 27.5% Res

  9. Omg I just woke up to all this info and discussion xD I was not expecting that to happen when I started the topic, looks like a perfect guide for marrying Matoi haha thanks all for posting.

    So looks like marrying Matoi is so much trouble... Tbh I really don't like Pegassus on my Kanna or my avatar because of the skills and weapons but Matoi is the only female I kind of like in Hoshido that won't make me lose any child D:

    So looks like knight, mercenary or dark mage could be the best options for a Kamui secondary class.

    And I had no idea the mods of a Matoi!Kanna are so bad this really increases the doubts of marrying her. Is there any post where I can check the mods of some (or all xD) possible kanna? Or does someone know the mods and growths of Hinoka/Oboro!Matoi!Kanna?

  10. So I'm planning to marry Matoi in my first Hoshido playthrough and also planning to make Samurai the secondary class of my avatar. My question is the next one:

    What happens if I use a Marriage Seal on Matoi? She already has the Samurai class (because of her father) and I've heard that Dark Prince is not passed when using this kind of Seals. What class will Matoi get?

  11. Hair color is tied to the mother in this game. Male Kanna will get the Avatar's hair color (whatever it is).

    Are u sure? I think the kid always gets the colour of the character who is not "tied" to. I would say Kanna will get Oboro's hair colour.

  12. The later you recruit a child, the higher their Level and stats. If their initial Level is higher than 10, add the corresponding number of Level Ups using the child’s growth rates in their current class to estimate their stats.

    So from the moment u get the paralogue if u keep playing other chapters the kid will level up till u enter the paralogue or how? Sorry I don't understand this part, can someone explain me?
