  1. I like it. I do feel that the whole "He's too powerful" could be why he was unable to become a spirit. His power was too great and in a way traps him in his body.

I do feel that not all of the Dark Dragons should willingly play a part in the war, but the ones that took part forced the remaining ones with a join or die ultimatum and were greatly outnumbered by both the Dark Dragons enemies and the Dark Dragons that sought war.

  2. Well there is the stuff in the supports, but those have no impact on the story so they are practically a waste.

Especially the hate filled assassins that are little better than a brainwashed Hydra!Takumi and appear in the Kamui/Aqua Nohr supports. Too bad it's bog down by the "Wah I don't want to kill innocent Hoshidans who do no wrong!"

Or that Aqua got kicked out of the country just for being Nohrian, which is also glossed over. At the least Ryoma and Hinoka objected to that, but the rest didn't.

  3. Well, Ryoma still uses the situation for his benefit. It's true that he didn't need to move out of the way for the sake of Elise's treatment, but he did forgo his original plan to fight Kamui when he grasped the situation at hand and went "hey, I am on higher ground right now. I should make him to do what I want or he dies", essentially coercing Kamui to do what he wants. Not very honorable.

Coercion. That's what I should have used instead of blackmail. I've just been used to seeing blackmail used when someone has held a cure for a persons illness over someone in order to serve their evil scheme before.

But after watching the video, which is nice to see Nohr chapters are being translated since I've only seen the Hoshido ones, it does feel like Iago set this all up and the two royals needed to actually talk with each other instead of just being so dang stubborn.

I do agree Taka-kun that he could have done better, as honestly I do feel Ryoma would have helped Elise on Hoshido because Kamui wasn't on Nohrs side and that's likely the reason he is so dang stubborn.

And I agree that Ryoma should clearly see that Kamui has siblings he cares about in Nohr, while he has at most known the Hoshidan siblings for a day or two.

  4. Wasn't Iago the enemy for that chapter?

Though if Takumi got sick and Marx tried to use the situation for the same reason I have no doubt people would still use it against Nohr for doing something underhanded like that. Not everyone would because some people dislike Takumi or if they're especially twisted they want him to suffer as a form of bullying.

Teasing both him and Leon is a thing apparently.

  5. @Sunwoo: I don't hold a person in real life up to such expectations. Mostly because real life people are not something I'm as careless with my words towards, because I know even the most innocent of statements could have a big impact and hurt them.

And I was referring to how at the time when he was under Hydra's more subtle brainwashing he didn't see what he was doing as wrong or even as flaws. Not until he was truly free of Hydra on his death.

Actually now I kinda wish if there is future DLC of potential scenarios where the other Hoshido or even one of the Nohr siblings get possessed by Hydra.

@Thor Odinson: I could see Marx getting blamed for doing something like that to be honest. In fact people would hold it as another typical Nohrians being "evil" for doing it. Especially if his main reason is to take back Kamui and punish them for betraying Nohr.

If your talking about the Barrier, that doesn't work on Nosferatu/Faceless. They're mindless afterall. It only brainwashes people with minds. That's why Nohr made them in the first place. Or Hydra did. I'm not sure considering even Syalla has some as her minions because they obey anyone with strong dark magic.

They could have had a Hoshidan general in the area that forces a fight instead. Kamui and his men having to fight them off and while I might not like it, sparing the Hoshidans might make Ryoma consider giving them the medicine to heal Elise. An actual legit reason to spare all the Hoshidans in a chapter for once. Especially if Saizou let's his hotblooded nature get the best of him like he does in that one chapter of IK where he nearly commits suicide to take them down before Sakura intervenes.

  6. @Sunwoo: I can understand Ryoma, but Hinoka didn't even get one of Hoshidos legendary weapons and she's not in line to take the throne should something happen to him. To be honest I feel like he should be proud of himself for getting as far as he has and coming off as a better warrior than her. But I suppose he himself likely does not see it that way.

In fact I don't even think he sees what he does as mistakes considering he's under Hydras subtle control on Nohr and Hydra is as NekoKnight put it "craycray". So he could influence him to see any action as a flawless plan to make Kamui suffer. I wouldn't be surprised if that's why Takumi shot Elise after she said something that annoyed him in the Chevalier chapter. Poor Takumi

I just wanted to know to be honest. So thanks.

I see nothing wrong with not moving aside for an enemy

    Kamui is the enemy

It doesn't matter if Elise is sick, she's the princess of the enemy country and it is not Ryouma's job to move aside to make sure she's okay, she joined Kamui on the battle field, she's fair game, if you're gonna voluntarily join the battlefield, the enemy has no obligations to make sure your health is in good shape, what do you expect Ryouma to do, just be like, "oh okay" and move aside for Kamui to take the meds and get out and save the fight for another day? It's not exactly his fault Elise is sick.

They were gonna fucking fight anyway

Which would be fine, if the Hoshidans didn't portray themselves as paragons of virtue while Nohrians are portrayed as evil. In fact letting the sick die because they are the enemy is something I'd expect from a Nohrian like Iago or Ganz.

Of course Iago was up to some scheme to make Kamui suffer so he probably set things up to happen. So I can partially blame this on Iago being a moustache twirler.

    Dear Naga I hate Iago.

  7. That's still blackmail. No matter how you sugarcoat it he's still trying to manipulate Kamui into rejoining Hoshido. Kamui even mentions that Elise is sick just to be clear about that. So Kamui has to fight their way through.

Plus he goes and says stuff like he'll gladly give away food for free on Hoshido to Nohr after learning about their lack of food. He was clearly letting his desire to have Kamui rejoin Hoshido affect his judgement.

Considering the time for the chapters I feel like chapter 17 happens later than that chapter. the dance in Muse doesn't even happen in Nohr until a couple chapters later.

  8. Leon's too smart to die.

Most of the issues I've actually heard about Takumi are why he even has these issues in the first place considering he lives in paradise, has loving siblings, is talented, a adoptive mother that he loves, retainers that care about him, etc. Generally I've only heard them say it's because Hinoka and Ryoma care about Kamui more than they do Takumi and Sakura.

The whole not trusting Kamui is the only one that I've ever seen brought up here.

As for Marx, I'm more ticked that for some reason Marx is suddenly no longer the person Kamui knows after accidentally killing Elise, despite him being like this in all three routes and it takes a slime monster/threatening to destroy Nohr for him to betray Garon.

  9. No they bring up that calling them evil is going to far. Their support was more about how both nations were supposed to be a form of balance and that the people of each nation are not evil, just different. Hoshido is super perfect while Nohr is shitty, Hoshidans want for nothing while Nohrians hunger, Hoshidan retainers are usually nobles or people from noble positions while most Nohrian retainers and playable characters are from the lower classes or not even from this world with a few exceptions, etc.

  10. It's only really justified in that the top leaders of the nation are moustache twirling villains, but the people themselves are just trying to survive in a harsh unforgiving land. That's why Aqua and Kamui in IK support mentions just calling them evil for doing the best they can to survive is too extreme. They're aggressive and hostile, but they aren't evil.

It would help if Hoshido actually proved they were better like they are constantly proclaiming instead of just saying they are right. Especially when they employ assassins just like Nohr and had Aqua kidnapped to trade her for Kamui. Even if she enjoyed her time after the plan fell through they still kidnapped her with the intention of sending her right back without a second thought.

Even Ryoma tries to blackmail Kamui for the cure to Elises illness for one chapter, which is completely glossed over by the story because we can't ever act like anyone from Hoshido ever truly does anything wrong.

Plus if being Dumb and Good was not equal in Hoshido. Seriously the fact that Aqua is needed for her supposed brilliant tactics suggest how stupid it is. Heck Hoshido doesn't even know about the whole lack of food until near the end of Birthright. This is despite having spies and assassins sent to kill people in Nohr for ages. Finally that barrier that in my honest opinion is worse than the IK curse.

  11. You should probably have Shenmei do something to protect/help Nohr since they generally mention that's what she used the last of her powers for and it took her life, then using what little time she had left to do as you mentioned and take her daughter to Touma.

The destruction could be caused by something visibly water related since Hydra is tied to water. Something like torrents of water that act similar to a water jet cutter to come down from the sky and slice up anything they come into contact with. Spirits being nearby to finish off whoever is fortunate enough to survive.

  12. This. There was no "who-done-it" part of Sumeragi's assassination. Everyone knows why (except the players, lol) Sumeragi went to Chevalier, everyone knows that Sumeragi was murdered an everyone knows Kamui was kidnapped. There are several characters who witnessed or make mention of the event. This idea that Hoshido needs to "prove" Garon did it, is absurd. It's war, not a court room.

The best reason I can think of if this event was at the end of a long war, and Hoshido didn't have the resources to continue. But that raises the question of why Sumeragi would be so trusting of a guy he was still at war with. Maybe Garon sent him a letter like "Dear King Sumeragi, come to Chevalier, a country far removed from Hoshidan support. I want to talk about our feelings. Don't bring any guards, they will just get in the way of our honest discussion. Oh, and bring your infant son with you. I love kids."

B-but...why? Does Hydra just have a massive hate-boner for Kamui in particular?

Because Hydra is insane. That's literally the answer. He's cuckoo for destruction puffs. So insane that even when he removed his madness and made it into Lilith he was still crazy.

As for Garon, we'll probably have to wait for a decent translation of the final battle on Hoshido, but he mentions some goal besides killing Mikoto yet he doesn't remember what that goal is anymore. Even the killing Mikoto might just be the result of Hydra tampering with his memories.

Also people are ignoring that even if Hydra was removed they'd just make one pure Japanese nation against one evil Western themed nation regardless, because IS can't write anything decent. So you'd still have super generic bad guys leading Nohr. It's like they expect things to change about that.

  13. Hydra and Gooron are out to make Kamui suffer before they die. This is pretty much why the battle after Mikoto's death was supposed to be about, making Kamui suffer for bringing the weapon that would kill Mikoto, who would die protecting them, and then finish them off with the units that have dragonslaying weapons.

Hydra could have likely had Mikoto killed long before that point since Sumeragi can appear in Hoshido with ease, but that wouldn't be as enjoyable.

@Sunwoo: Aqua's kidnapping was apparently a big influence on the tension between both nations as well, which is why Asura feels responsible when he admits to kidnapping her for Hoshido to start a conflict. Elise was born after she was kidnapped, while some people tried to keep them from getting her back like Garon wanted.

  14. I like it. Can't wait to see what you do with Nohr's lore, besides them not being happy the Dark Dragon gave them Mordor.

They'll probably have the four symbols as actual dragons as well since they're tied with Dragon's Vein.

Oh should there be something about the Golden Kites and the Tenma (Pegasus)? Tenma are Celestial horses in Chinese myths and don't care about gender like the common FE Pegasi, and the Golden Kite acted as a divine messenger in to an Emperor in Japanese lore. Hoshidans probably believe these celestial messengers were gifts given to them by Koryu to ensure they could fight back against the Dark Dragons.

  15. @Phillius: You might include something about the Four Symbols as well, because when using Dragon's Vein they invoke one of four dragons based on said symbols.

It's the one group of deities both groups might pray too because Nohr can invoke their power, unlike the Dark Dragon. In fact their dislike for the Dark Dragon could be why they used the corpse of a different dark dragon as a fortress.
