    I think I can give Mikoto herself a bit of a pass on the whole heavy-handedness on the grounds that she at least gives some acknowledgement to the fact that Corrin is in a very strange and awkward position and at least tries to work around it. This is in contrast to almost all the Hoshido siblings who more or less assume Corrin is going to come back into their embrace with no reservations. Especially cringe-worthy is the end of C4 where Hinoka is openly racist about the entirety of Nohr right in front of Corrin (and then the whole scene is made weird because Corrin apparently doesn't even have a word to say about that). Ryoma is maybe the next closest to empathic in that he vaguely thinks about Corrin's feelings in that statement that the whole kidnapping bit is a lot to take in, but his priority after that seems to be just proving how evil Nohr is to the point that he drags Corrin off to a battlefield. Then Takumi is actively hostile in an attempt to push away a Corrin he probably assumes wants back into the family. I mean, he has every right to be suspicious, but his approach is far from endearing (ironically, this is probably the most realistic response, but that's not going to score any points with the person he's directing his anger at). Finally, Sakura is a giant doormat who says very little when her other siblings are mouthing off. Nooot really something that's going to build an emotional response from me. Basically, Mikoto was the only one giving Hoshido any kind of positive impression and then she got offed pretty much as soon as she was introduced.

    Now, Sakura and Takumi (meanwhile, Hinoka spends more time threatening to cut Zola than anything else) have been coming across more sympathetically in Birthright, but that's more than a little late to help with C6.

    Openly racist? Please. Nohr killed her father, sends faceless to kill innocents, kidnapped and brainwashed Corrin, killed her mother, tried to kill Corrin, and are invading them.

    Hinoka is right to call them Nohrian Scum as they're scum who happen to be the hated Nohrian invaders.

    Zola is not in their side, he literally tried to capture the Royals and betrays you multiple times. The only one he doesn't want Garon to kill is Corrin. He happily would watch the rest be killed by his plot.

    The other royals probably have a lot more retainers as well, we only see most of Corrin's retainers because he is the main character.

    Also, Azura doesn't have any retainers because no matter how much the Hoshidan Royals treat her as family, she still is a war prisioner.

    It would be weird for a war prisioner to have retainers.

    Actually, she was treated as family and had the same rights as them.

    Azura could have had retainers however the rule states that the Royal must choose their retainers. As Azura was very anti-social she never chose any thus she has none.

    My Caeldori is related by blood or marriage to Shiro, Kiragi, Kana, Dwyer, Sigure, Midori and Asugi.

    Only Hisame isn't blood or marriage related to Caeldori, Kana and Midori.

    Hisame...

    No matter what someone's getting the marriage or blood cousin loving...

    I'm sure that the family tree is far more complicated in Revelations if you don't marry the Royals together.

    Marrying Ignatius for +10 DEF Kana has made me hate visiting my home. I never bond with him, so I always have to check home to see if I can invite guests because that "!" of his desired attention is omnipresent.

    I realize Caeldori could give me the same DEF, but Ignatius gives better stats in general.

    Ignatius, for my Corrin, is a loveless marriage made by a woman whose gifts in eugenics made her realize what was necessary for a great Kana without the benefit of Aether-granting Lucina being an obvious choice.

    That beautiful tank healer that both draws range 2 fire and heals without any regard for his own defense (he doesn't need to) is a wonder to behold.

    Oni Chieftain Ignatius getting -4 damage from personals (his and Corrin's) while carrying Horse Spirit and having a General/Malig Knight Wife at his back leads to a similarly indestructible unit (even if his hit chance leaves much to be desired at times).

    Honestly, none of the female children units have been that interesting, and while Forrest has so, so much to offer as a man, I just can't seem to find any appeal in +MAG Kana in comparison to what +DEF Kana provides.

    Well, why not give Kana that Nohrian Trust and have their pair up give them Aegis/Pavise/Miracle/Aether/Lethality as well?

    Pairing up is so troublesome when you find a good support chain.

    I like Hana but I'm not that fussed about her getting access to Cav, haha, I'll just pass---Silas can always A+ Ryoma for SM anyway.

    I'm pretty sure there's ways to strike a balance--while she'd have to show up to public events and stuff, there's no rule against queens being more private outside those situations. You don't need to be a public figure 24/7. I'm pretty sure most historical queens weren't.

    And if Corn the special snowflake can keep Touma and marry one of the niichans, then something can be worked out with Rinkah too.

    I suppose.

    Though how does FemCorrin work out if they marry Xander or Ryoma? They have their own Kingdoms.
