  1. Yep, it's 21 states (plus DC and all federal employees, regardless of location), I believe. Most states do not have such protections. All states have laws on the book where it is illegal to fire someone on the basis of race, gender, disability, and age, but only those states (along with a few cities like Austin) also include sexual orientation and gender identity. Heck, some of these protections don't even apply to gender identity, just sexual orientation...>.>

And it should be noted that there was a bill up for a vote in congress a couple of years back that would have enabled these protections, but most people were against it, even gay rights groups. You see, the bill didn't include gender identity, and it had a religious exemption. Basically, your boss could fire you for being gay if his/her religious beliefs said being gay is a sin, regardless of what the job was. Basically, you might as well not have the law in place at all.

As for gay people suing their former employer for believing their termination was due to their orientation? You could say the same for stuff like race, gender, disability, and age too. Should we get rid of those? Also, seems kind of an asinine reaction to such a thing. "Some gay person could sue their former employer for firing them when it could have been because they were a bad employee, so we should make it so no gay person has any protection for this sort of thing!" Seems similar to the argument of "some boys could just say they're girls and go into the girls' bathroom and locker rooms so we should make it so transgendered people still have to use bathrooms and locker rooms based off the gender they were assigned at birth!" (and I realize that that statement was phrased to be less offensive than how many phrased that back when this was in the news lol). You shouldn't punish an already marginalized group just because a few jackasses would abuse the law, especially in ways that are laughably transparent.

  2. Um...Eail, what you're asking for is gender equality and most people (even most feminists and MRAs) are for that. I certainly am. In fact, part of fighting for equal rights would also lead to gender equality. Some men are indeed victims (as I actually did state earlier when I discussed the fact that most abusers are women and most victims of sexual harassment in the military are men), and the media has a hard time addressing that fact. In fact, there was an article about a man who was raped by a woman (he was the one who wrote it) and the reason he didn't fight back was a combination of being really drunk and the fact that he figured that him fighting a woman wouldn't go over very well with not just his friends, but the law, as well (I do doubt many would take "but your honor! She was trying to rape me!" as a defense, sadly). And yes, his girlfriend did leave him since she thought he cheated on her and all that.

Anyways, basically, yeah, men do have it rough at times, and I wasn't saying that wasn't the case, and I really feel that was at least half of the point I was making up there too.

  3. Thank you for pointing that out, Eclipse. It's one of those things gay people don't like to talk about because it would be a weapon against them when it comes to equal rights (because we all know straight couples don't have that problem...>.>). And actually, women are more likely to be abusive than men are (last I checked, girls aren't taught to not hit boys), but no one ever talks about because men are supposed to be strong and women are the victims. Heck, over half of all people sexually harassed in the military are men (probably partially because just under 20% of the military is female, but still).

But yes, no one ever talks about gay couples being abusive, nor any unique problems that entail. Is the victim scared to come out to his/her community? Well, s/he'll have to in order to get help. Not only that, but since the couple is a minority, their actions will cause people to think badly of the group as a whole, so all the more reason to pretend it isn't happening, for the sake of the gay community as a whole. And this is of course assuming said victim won't get discriminated against when s/he actually does seek help. I mean, we all know men should be able to stand their ground and women can't be abusive, right? >.>

And it isn't just this, but also the fact that IN MOST STATES, YOU CAN BE FIRED FOR BEING GAY! Sorry for the caps lock, but most people aren't aware of that fact and in fact think it is already a protection gay people have. No, we don't have that. I have protection in my home state of California, but if I need to move to say, Oklahoma, then my boss can fire me and state his reason is that he doesn't like having a gay employee and any suit I take against him would be thrown out since what he did was legal. Even before this great ruling by the Supreme Court, some states had marriage equality, but still lacked these protections. Some people are afraid to come out under such a thing and thus avoid getting married or talking about their personal life (when their straight coworkers totally can). No one wants to get fired and have to deal with unemployment.

Sorry if this stuff gets you down, people. I really am super and incredibly happy about the SCOTUS ruling. I really am. But equal rights aren't over yet and I am tired of the only thing being talked about is marriage equality, like that is the end goal that solves all our problems. That just gives us equal benefits in places that don't overtly discriminate and allows some gay people to "live the straight life" like most gay people on TV do.

  4. Yeah, that's why I picked "maiden", since it also gives off a sense of innocence and purity while avoiding sexual connotations.

And I just realized something when going through and editing that Google Document. I didn't think my suggestions were sent! XD Aubergine knows my real name lol. Well, I suppose it is fair since I know his due to that document, as well. Good luck Googling it! I don't even appear on the first page! XD

  5. I was looking around to see an English translation of some comprehensive rules for this game and most of the info I have seen is scattered and, at a few times, contradictory. I feel the wiki needs a page like this. Now I am gonna put down a list of rules and anyone who knows better, please correct me.

*Deck is at least 50 cards. There is no max.

*A deck may contain no more than 4 copies of the same card.

*Players decide who goes first by whatever method they both deem fair.

*Set aside one cost 1 unit from your deck face-down as a "Main Character" (now referred to as MC). Any unit can be used, as long as it has a deploy cost of 1. Be sure that this card has a marker (can be anything) to signify that it is a MC. Starter Decks come with a marker one can use. This unit counts towards the 4 card name limit.

*Both players shuffle their decks and draw six cards as their opening hand. Players may mulligan, but they send back their whole hand to the deck, shuffle it, and draw another six cards. Only one mulligan is allowed.

*After mulligan, players put the top 5 cards of their deck face-down into their orb area. These cards cannot be looked at by anyone, except by effects.

*Players start the game by flipping their MC face-up ("Stand up! The vanguard!" :P)

*Phases go: Draw Phase, Bond Phase, Deployment Phase, then Action Phase.

*Player who goes first skips their Draw Phase.

*Units "untap" during the Draw Phase. This consists of turning any horizontal units vertical.

*Bond Phase consists of the option to place a card from your hand into your bonds area.

    * During the Deployement Phase, turn player may place units from their hand into the battlefield or promote their units. Promoting consists of placing a unit with a promotion cost on top of a unit with the same character name (this uses the promotion cost and not the deploy cost). When promoting, the player draws a card.

*Things of note for this phase:

**The total cost of all units played during this phase may not exceed the cards in your bond area (1 card means one cost 1 unit, 2 cards mean two cost 1s or one cost 2, 5 cards means one cost 5, five cost 1s, a cost 2 and cost 3, etc.)

**To reiterate, when promoting, one uses the promotion cost and not the deploy cost. Keep this in mind with the above note.

**When effects activate when a unit promotes or when it enters the field promoted, the draw happens first, then the effect.

**Promoted units may be played without promoting into them as "normal units". They do not count as promoted, you pay the deploy cost, and you do not draw a card when they are played.

**You may promote your MC and the new promoted unit is now your MC.

**You may promote on an already promoted unit, as long as the promotion goes from a lower costed unit to a higher costed one. All other restrictions and benefits still occur.

**The unit the promoted unit used to be stays under the new one to signify that it has been promoted (this is key to keeping track for all sorts of effects). Includes any promoted units that the unit used to be.

**You may "upgrade" a unit. This consists of playing a higher costed unpromoted unit on top of a lower costed unpromoted unit of the same character. This is not a promotion and the former unit goes to the retreat area. You pay the cost for an upgrade by paying the deploy cost. You may upgrade your MC and the new unit is now your MC.

**Color restrictions are as follows: you may only deploy a unit if you have a FACE-UP card in your bond area of the same color. The amount in the bond area does not matter, as long as it is at least one. If all cards of said color in your bond area are face-down, then YOU MAY NOT PLAY THAT UNIT!

**You MAY NOT deploy a unit if a unit with the same character name is already deployed, even if it is a different card name (this is why upgrade is a thing, among other reasons).

*Action Phase consists of using the abilities of your units, in addition to moving and attacking with them.

*Things of note for this phase:

**Some abilities ask you to flip a certain number of bonds face-down as part of the cost. You must do so in order to use the skill and be sure to keep in mind what is stated above about about color restrictions. Flipped bonds stay face-down, unless flipped back up by an effect.

**Some abilities require you to "tap" the unit and/or another one as part of the cost. This consists of turning the unit(s) horizontal from vertical. This must be done in order to use the effect.

**Moving consists of moving a character from the front line to the rear line, or the rear line to the front line. You tap the unit when doing so.

**When attacking, the attacker may select any target within their range. A range of 1 means from front line to front line and a range of 2 means front line to the rear line, or the rear line to the front line. Units with a range of 1-2 have the option of picking either range when attacking. You tap the unit to attack.

**The player who goes first may not attack.

**You may not tap a unit that has already been tapped (a tapped unit would be horizontal). This basically means a unit may not move and attack in the same turn, among other things.

    *Attacking consists of:

**Declaring an attack by selecting which unit is attacking (by tapping it) and selecting a legal target (within range) for the attack.

**Skills that activate upon attacking with the unit activate, then any skills that activate when the other unit is defending activate.

**Both players now flip the top cards of their deck face-up into their respective support areas (at the same time).

**Any support skills that activate upon supporting an attacker activate, then when the attacking character is supported, then when supporting a defender, then when the defender is supported (I realize this order hasn't been established but the order has yet to really matter, so I defer to turn player here).

**The support power is added to the respective card's power. Say, a Marth with 40 power is attacking and is supported by a Caede with 30 support power. Marth's power is now 70. Same goes with the defender, naturally.

**A character may not support itself. Basically, a Chrom card may not support a Chrom. If the card trying to support an attacker or defender is of the same character, then no power is added, not any skills that activate when supporting activate.

**The attacking player may now choose to discard a card with the attacking character's name (may be a different card name, but still must be a card of the character). If they do so, then the attacker performs a "critical attack" and their power is doubled (including any support power added) until the end of the battle.

**The defending player may now choose to discard a card with the defending character's name (same rules as when going for a critical attack). If they do so, then the defender performs an "evasion" and the attack is nullified, as if it never happened.

**Now, if the attack wasn't evaded, the attacker's power is compared to the defender's power. If the attacker's power is greater or EQUAL to the defender's power, then the defender is destroyed by battle. If the defender has higher power, then nothing happens. The attacker does not get destroyed.

**When a unit is destroyed by battle, if the unit is not a MC, then it goes into the retreat area. If the unit is a MC, then instead, the controlling player takes a card from their orb area and puts it into their hand.

***IF THE PLAYER MUST TAKE A CARD FROM THEIR ORB AREA AND CANNOT DO SO DUE TO THERE BEING NO CARDS THERE, THEN THEY LOSE THE GAME!

**At this point, regardless of any outcome, the cards in the support area must now go to the retreat area.

*After the player is done with their Action Phase, their turn ends.

Once again, if there is anything wrong here, or anything needs adding, then please say so.

I'm sure "virgin" is the more accurate direct translation here, but in context, I'm sure what it's going for is something like "innocent female" and I feel "maiden" is a more accurate term to use.

  7. Yeah, Cain is oh so very superior to Abel. There's a reason he was on the short list of cards people could vote on to get sleeves while Abel didn't.

Anyways, can you work down the Awakening part of the set and I'll work up (starting with Anna)? The set numbers clump all of the cards of a character together, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Watch, you'll do more work than me lol :P

    EDIT: http://serenesforest.net/wiki/index.php/Anna_%28Cipher%29

There is my effort in making a page for Anna, but I'm not entire sure where I went wrong. Can someone check my editing work to see what the issue is? Is it the template? Also, how do you add a card to a category? I noticed this page is already tagged as part of the TCG, but not as a Blue card. At some point we need to do the same for all the affinities and powers, but let's get the cards up first and have them easily accessible from the home page.

    EDIT2: http://serenesforest.net/wiki/index.php/Guide_to_editing_on_the_FE0_Wiki

I figured I should make that page. If anyone has any questions or comments about that page, then lay it on me! And after I made that page, it has become apparent the issue may lie with the template seeing that table should be completely blank in the "insignia", "other", "promo cost", and "booster series" areas and those are the issues with the Anna page I made.

I'll continue adding cards in, despite these issues, in the hopes that when the template is fixed, so will those pages.

  8. My two cents on the matter (probably more than that, but whatevs lol):

It is awesome that this is in here.Truly, it is. I am happy and grateful Nintendo listened to fans and included this. BUT, this is just baby steps. I tolerated no LGBT stuff in Awakening, as I thought all that would be a one-time thing and I will tolerate this, as it is a first time Nintendo is doing this sort of thing, but I will stop tolertating this if it keeps happening like how this game does it. What is there to tolerate, you ask?

*Only two options, one for each gender. They could have added a few more. Not saying everyone, but some variety would have been nice.

*Each option is locked into a route. Too bad for any lesbian Nohr players or gay Hoshido players. Guess you're gonna either have to buy DLC or suck it up! Could have easily added characters available in both routes as options (Silas and Azura would have made great additions!)

*They're still S rank support for opposite sex Corrin. Nothing against them being bi, but it's clear they felt the need to have a hetero option for them to please the straight pairers. Can't help but feel like this is a bit of a double standard due to them being the sole options.

*Why did the only options have to be psychotic characters? Nothing against them (and I do like them somewhat), but is this a 90's horror movie? Do you have to be unhinged to be gay or something?

*Why are the only gay pairings between Corrin and somebody? Why can't others have that option with others? Azura x Effie, Camilla x Luna, or Foleo x any male child (because have you seen Foleo?!?) as examples.

*I've seen the S support endings involving them and without giving out too much, it is clear that they are held back by Japanese culture seeing such relationships being taboo. A few lines from those come straight out of yaoi and yuri (and I read a fair amount of the former and a little of the latter, so I should know that those lines are practically word for word in a number of cases). The conversations are sweet, however, so it's hard to really sin them. I just wanted this bit to be heard, is all. As long as the sweetness is kept, they can do these convos until the end of the series, as far as I'm concerned.

There, I hope this has been enlightening to any of you who are failing to see why some are still complaining.

  9. Sooo. . .can "Marth" Lucina be supported by Marth?

(this'll cement which deck I build in my mind)

As far as I can tell, that effect means she counts as both Lucina and Marth at the same time and such an effect is a double-edged sword. She can promote into any promoted Marth or Lucina cards, she can also be used for the discarding for critical, evasion, and persona blasts of both Lucina and Marth, but this also means you canot play any Lucina or Marth cards while she is out nor can she support Lucina or Marth or be supported by them.

But I heard most people are gonna use just one copy of her in a Marth deck and make her the MC, just so they can max all the regular Marth cards in the deck itself.

  10. Promo Card #008

    Cost: 2 / Promotion Cost: N/A

    Insignia: Shadow Dragon

Affinities: Female / Lance / Flying / Mount

Quote: “Hmm, maybe it’s ok to indulge a bit from time to time.”

Skill 1: “Winds of Macedon / ∞ / If there are two or more flying-affinity units on your battlefield, this unit’s attack is increased by 10.

    Skill 2: N/A

Support Skill: “Flyer’s Emblem” / Attack ♥ / You may choose one ally that is not an attacking unit and move it.

    Attack Power: 30

    Support Attack Power: 30

    Range: 1

    Rank: Unpromoted

    Class: Pegasus Knight

    Title: Princess of Macedon

    Card ID: P01-008PR

    Illustrator: Mayo

Her cost is 1, not 2. I'll check the rest later, but from what I saw of the promos and the starter deck cards, that is the only mistake I caught. And I do assume that it's super cool to use these translations for the wiki?

  11. Lucina doesn't actually gender or state change. Her rules say that she only takes on Marth's name, not gender, abilities, stats. Of course if she is upgraded, then this effect is replaced with the new card.

You misunderstood me. I meant that she turns into Marth when you promote her into Marth card and since Marth is male, a gender change occurs, is all. I was just hoping that they would do the same for Robin and Morgan. Ah, well.

  12. Oh, I swear, if same-sex couples don't get any children...

And don't go "but gay couples can't have children!" This is a world where people can turn into dragons and shoot fire out of their hands with the aid of a book and that is what would be unbelievable?

Besides, if they really do come from another realm where time passes faster, then all the more reason so, since they are technically the kids of another version of themselves, and not themselves.

  13. http://serenesforest.net/wiki/index.php/Fire_Emblem_TCG

I started up some preliminary pages for each color, as you can see there. I also added links to nonexistent pages in each of those pages that should suddenly work when the pages exist. As for the pages for the Nohr and Hoshido cards, I just put up links to characters confirmed to be getting cards. I'll add the one white card we have full knowledge of (a male Corrin promo) later, if I can find a good image (or one gets uploaded).

If anyone can help me come up with ideas for that "guide to editing" thing I also put up there. Basically, I want that page to teach hopeful editors how to add cards to the wiki while also showing them how it works, formatting wise (which we don't even fully know yet! lol). Basically, what I mean by that is, stuff like all the cards for a character go in one page and all of those pages should go by the character's name followed by "(Cipher)", to differentiate the page from their character pages on other parts of that wiki.

My goal is to have every known card translated and added to that wiki by the end of the week! We can do it guys!

  14. So I was looking around some places, and apparently some cards are called SR+? What's the deal with that?

I assume those are the signed cards, which come at a rate of one in every four boxes. They're extra special. For any wondering what signed cards there are, it's SR Navarre, SR Lucina, R Female Robin, and R Lissa. And they are signed by their VAs.

  15. Oh, I am fully aware of that (hi Inigo and Lon'qu!), but then they would affect/be affected by that card, rather than the character, yu know? Besides, as I said before, Lucina already gender changes. Her cost 1 card has an effect where she is treated as Marth, as well, at all times, correct? That means she is a viable card to discard for criticals, evasion, and persona blasts when it comes to Marth. But it also means she is a viable card for promoted Marth cards to promote onto, thus making her gender change from female to male (though since it's Lucina to Marth, it won't be much of a change! Ba dum tss).

Of course, this is assuming I am understanding the rules properly.

  16. So is it confirmed there's no MaMU or FeMorgan cards? That'd seem quite biased to only include one of the Avatars.

I'm slightly irritated that they separated Robin and Morgan into two different characters each (via gender), especially since neither is all that different when their gender is different. I kinda wanted class change to include gender change too (guess only Lucina can do that). I suspect male Robin and female Morgan (along with a few other missing people, like Panne, Yarne, Laurent, and Nah) will be in the next set that has Awakening cards. At least they didn't go full bias and went with both female Robin and female Morgan. And male Morgan is super cute with a great ability, so I'm personally fine.

  17. If Silas was a gay option, then I would never marry anyone else! XD

At least Zero is cool. I might take Nintendo up on their offer to marry him as a guy. I would do the same for Shara, but yanderes are not my cup of tea. It's nice that peeps have the option, though.

Anyways, good first step, Nintendo. And you put it in a game that mattered! I'm just kidding to any Tamodachi Life fans lol.

  18. You know, Scarlet, that isn't a bad idea. I mean, how many cards will one character have, anyways? Marth has the most with five (he's getting a V Jump promo, making him have a card for each cost of 1-5) and it's not like he's bound to get many more anytime soon. Yeah, that could be a way to reduce the number of pages. If it does get to be too much, we will have to make a page for each card, with a page for each character, linking to each of their cards, but I only see that happening if a page reaches more than ten cards or something.

And thanks, Eclipse! I was worried about those tags and they bugged me too, but I didn't feel confident enough in my abilities to remove those without making things worse. And I realized that "booster series" was never added, so I added it and it didn't make things worse, so I'm glad. It's important for people to know where the cards come from in order to know how to obtain the cards. And please do add those symbols. That would be a big help!
