  1. I feel bad for only finding this thread now, but I'm glad the words of others have made Rena feel better regardless. Honestly, it was rather disheartening to see so many people sending her so much hate and disliking her so much. While I've been trying not to majorly spoil myself, I have heard Lost in Thoughts All Alone via the smash soundtrack, and once the point in the game where Azura is performing in front of Garon (Don't quite know the context for that yet) was leaked in english, I couldn't help but want to listen. Not only was Lost in Thoughts All Alone absolutely incredibly done by Rena Strober, but I've practically listened to it on repeat every day since I first heard it. And the Nohr version of that performing scene was absolutely stunning and just amazing to listen to. Oh, and as a bit of fun information, my mother has gained some interest in the Fire Emblem series as of late, and I'm planning on sending her a playthrough of the game to watch very soon. From what little she knows about Awakening, her favorite characters are Olivia and Inigo, and she's already gained interest in Azura due to the similar class to Olivia. I've sent her Lost in Thoughts All Alone and shown her the leaked performance scenes, and she absolutely loves your voice already. I hope knowing a slightly old mom is looking forward to getting to know your character very soon makes you feel happy as well. You deserve all the support you get and more, Rena Strober. I can hardly wait to listen to you once my copy of the game finally arrives in the mail. (Sadly that won't be until a few days after the release, but it'll be worth the wait regardless.)
  2. Overprotective: Def and Res +2 and Avoid +5 to all allies within two spaces, -5 Def and Avoid to the user I tend to be very protective and a worrywart towards really close friends, so maybe better buffs would apply to those with at least a C support, or something along those lines. Also, I feel like I'd probably be a tank-y unit with low resistance, so I'd probably die to magic attacks easily enough already. Another possible option, Cleanfreak: When user fights in terrain with no terrain effects, Speed +5 and Avoid +10
  3. For my first run through Nohr, I'm thinking of having my Kamui become a Blacksmith. As the Hoshido's Hero-esque class, that would've been interesting enough to me on it's own, but it's Smithy skill gives a lot of interesting possibilities. With a more luck focused Kamui, the chance of getting free Hoshido weapons without having to buy them definitely feels like it'd be fun, as well as a good possible way to get more money on the Nohr route. A hopeful encounter with a castle who's Kamui has the Easy Life skill could also help with that quite a bit.
  4. While I think Holy Bowman is overall the class you'd normally wanna go with, I'm very interested in Takumi as a Trueblade. Not only because he's a critical hitting machine, but he gets a unique model as one that looks way too good to pass up on. Plus, it's easy enough to get his supports with Hinata up to give him access to that class. Although, one class I feel tempted to use him in is Great Merchant. If only for my love of spears and bows with a little curiosity.
  5. Overall, I'm kinda liking what Fates is doing with stats. Stats caps and growths are a lot smaller, but each slight boost to them is worth a lot more. Luck having a slight boost like that feels like a fitting change, at the very least. While I'm still not 100% sure how I feel about killer weapons getting that extra critical damage, I do like how it's other features are handled.
  6. I absolutely love unique models to characters, and I got really curious as to what Trueblade Takumi looks like. I actually found a really good reference, and it's honestly making me want to reclass him to that in my playthrough for the look alone. (that and he'd be absolutely killer with Astra.) Here's the link! (auto play warning)
  7. While I'm not in favor of so much sexualization in video games and stuff, I can understand why it's there. Not accept it, but understand it. However, at some points it just gets way too ridiculous. Having classes that ride horses go without pants would be god knows how painful, especially into battle. Have you seen how those things jump for some attacks? I didn't even notice it until recently but the armor knight and general classes go bottomless too. While it's obvious that isn't the main target, you'd think protecting your own ass would be important for such a defensive class.
  8. I would've loved to see Arthur/Harold and Odin have some supports. An unlucky man with a passion for heroism and the dark, dramatic theatrics of the heroic Owain of old in the form of Odin would have been wonderful. Not only that, but with them both having a neat gameplay synergy between 'em with their skills and being able to get them each a chapter apart, it felt like there'd be some supports between these two wonderful losers. I could easily see them being rivals fighting to see who can be the most heroic and victorious, or maybe even have Odin trying to help out Harold with his horrible luck and give him some good ol emotional, well, support.
  9. I can definitely agree with you there. Its best use could probably be for flying units that can't counterattack, but that's a fairly niche situation. Nosferatu not being able to attack twice or inflict critical hits makes it a lot less useful too, and I feel like I'd only really use it after forging it to have a lot more might.
  10. While I did favor weapon durability in the older games, with how Awakening handled weaponry, you never really had to worry about weapon durability after a couple chapters. Durability felt more like a minor chore than an interesting and important part of the gameplay. In many of the GBA games, making sure your units even had enough weapons to fight was a fairly big worry, and one you had to plan for. Awakening made that much less of a worry, but in turn, made durability much less important to the gameplay overall. And with how Fates has built up and improved on a lot of Awakening's mechanics, it felt like a good move to give more strategy to weapon uses and take away durability. There's a lot of interesting weapons and I'm already planning a lot around which ones to use and where. Bronze weapons no longer having critical hits and weapons not meant for combat like sticks each have interesting options. A lack of critical hits could help with feeding kills to weaker units, and weapons not meant for combat could help for units you feel will gain a lot more kills with critical hits and skill attacks. However, there are some weapons that have downgrades that far outweigh any usefulness they have. Xander’s Guiding-lance is an absolutely horrible weapon, and the Expert Yumi seems far too weak and inaccurate to just have a range of 3. And with ballistas coming back in the form of the ballistician, there's probably gonna be even less use for it. The fact that there's really only one wind and dark magic spell now really bothers me. All in all, if they bring weapon durability back in future games, they might increase durability and have the effects of certain weapons be much more minor. If they don't and stick with Fate's system, I feel they'll build and improve on it and make the balance between usefulness and strategy a bit more fair.
  11. I'm hoping that the MT for throwing weapons will be boosted a bit to make up for not being able to double anymore. Not to the point that it's just as strong as a double, of course, but enough so that there's still some good incentive to use it.

    Level Cap?

I forget which thread I saw this information on, but apparently if you reclass and are a higher level then when you get that class' skills, you get one of its skills per level up. Same works for promoted units, I think.
  13. While I'm not too bothered by a majority of the designs, (I'll always prefer long flow-y robes when it comes to dark mages) but I will admit that the skinship stuff feels a bit iffy to me. I'm not too bothered by it, and since it's optional I doubt I'll make use of it much, but it does bring up some minor worries for the values of future games. Overall, I'm not too bothered, but still worried and slightly uncomfy here and there.
  14. I think I'll go with a male Kamui for my first playthrough of the Hoshido side, then female Kamui on my first Nohr run. Then probably vice versa on my second runs. Though I am somewhat tempted to go with female Kamui on my first run just to see more of Joker.
  15. This is honestly shocking. The children mechanic was the last thing I expected to make a comeback. It made sense in Awakening, and the story revolved around that to aid it. I'm not really sure how to feel. The future kids were my favorite part in Awakening, and I feel like part of that was because of the doomed future and how that shaped who they became. I'm not sure how the story of two waring nations could implement that as well as Awakening did, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. I was looking forward to Fates working with characters in the style of most of the past games, giving each side a large cast you'd recruit normally. I'm not sure how I'd feel about
  16. Just woke up and wanted to say thank you very much on the translation. It looks as great as ever, if not even better. You definitely deserve lots of respect for this heap of translation work.
  17. I'd just like to cheer you on and thank you ahead of time for any translation work you put in. I can't even imagine what working on four pages must be like, let alone ten. Try not to push yourself too hard. Snack and nap breaks are important.
  18. It took another rewatch of these videos to realize it I must be on my fifteenth by now but I think I know what helps me love the looks of all these classes. The animation looks even more fluid and detailed than those in Awakening. I always loved how amazingly detailed and well done the sprite animations in the GBA Fire Emblem games were, but the animations for Awakening felt fairly simple and easy to follow. These animations, though, feel like they capture the style of those GBA sprites in full 3D perfectly, but with the addition of having far more details and stylistic things than the sprites could have had.
  19. So far I am absolutely loving the looks of both the new and old classes. The way they've worked in the looks an aesthetics of each side into the classes is amazing. I'm a sucker for little details, and the amount in all the classes looks so breath taking I think I already watched each video around 8 times. I'm very happy with how they kinda slimmed down the look of the knight, great knight and general classes. The ridiculously bulky look Awakening had for them always felt iffy to me. Here they look a bit more practical. I'm also excited for the Hoshido equivalent to the great hero class, and absolutely adore that phoenix rider. Plus the shapeshifters getting actual class upgrades is something I'm extremely happy about. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the looks of each class.
  20. Normal Casual No Reset A little grinding Hoshido For my first runs on Hoshido and Nohr, I think I'll go for casual just so I can get to know all the characters first. After that, I'll go for hard and classic run. Plus, I'd feel safer going in blind the first time around. Once I know what's coming for me, I can plan for it on the runs where I have more at stake.
  21. I kinda like the design of Kamui's armor. It's got a lot of flare to it that clearly originates from Nohr, but it's color scheme kinda fits with the aesthetics of both sides fairly well without feeling out of place. I feel it could be a bit better, but for what it is, I like it. For Kamui's character development, though, I'm hoping they'll take a similar route with Robin's, but tweak and improve things here and there. While Robin was the player's character, they still had their own personality and quirks that made them their own character, and a pretty damn good one at that. My personal hope for character is a more casual, but responsible lord. One who's easily relaxed and willing to joke around, but when things get serious, gets serious along with them. And as a theory I have and am hoping for, is that Kamui turns out less like a hero by the end, and loses control of their powers, to the point that you may have to fight against Kamui. That dragon form looks so intimidating, and doesn't even look like a living creature. It has such a metallic, unnatural look, I can't help but hope it's a sign of something more sinister. Hell, it doesn't even look like it has eyes or a mouth.
  22. Oh god, I can't believe I didn't even think about the possibilities that come from Harold and Odin having supports. Not only would those probably be extremely entertaining, but a good A or B support with them would probably increase Odin's critical hit rate even more. Far enough into the game you could probably get around 30 to 40% extra critical chance.
  23. I have a tenancy to think out strategies for games way, way too much. To be honest I only reached that strategy when thinking about Owain's hilarious hero talk and if Odin and Harold will compete for best hero.
  24. So far, I think the character's personal skills hold the most interesting potential so far. Not only does this help make characters of the same classes work very differently, but there's a lot of interesting synergies that could be worked out. One I thought of that I'll definitely make use of in my Nohr run is Harold's unique skill + Odin's. With Harold decreasing the critical evade for enemy units and Odin increasing his own critical hit rate just for having weapons with 8 kanji, you could gain more than an extra 20% chance to critical hit nearby foes. Add weapons forged with higher critical hit ratios, and bam, game set and match.
  25. I think I'd only make use of the prison in Hoshido. I'd probably do so to get a mercenary on my team if the Hoshido story line doesn't offer one, mainly since that's always been my favorite go-to class. Then I could utilize streetpass to grind it up a bit. On the Nohr path, though, I think I'd just focus all my experience on my main units. Could probably use the dragon vein points I'd put into the prison on other things too.
