What class/skills should Chrom and Sumia generally be as a pair?

Thanks for the suggestions! I like switching their classes every so often just so things don't get monotonous. How would a Bow Knight ChromxSumia pair work, or the Sniper one that you mentioned? -

Thanks for that, are there any pairings I should switch around to make Noire more useful/ make Cynthia a sniper? I mainly chose Donnel to give her a Galeforce, is that worth the drop in power or should she become physical instead?

I've made a few changes to my team, here are the pairings I have now: Physical: Gaius!Kjelle X Virion!Yarne Lon'qu!Severa X Henry!Gerome Stahl!Inigo X Vaike!Nah Magical: Sumia!Lucina X AvatarM(+Mag/-Def) VVDS Sumia!Lucina!MorganF(+Mag/-Def) X Ricken!Owain Sumia!Cynthia X Libra!Brady Donnel!Noire X Gregor!Laurent I'm looking for any suggestions on these pairings to improve everyone's performance. Also can you recommend me class combinations for the pairs above? Thanks!

Thanks, do you have any tips for feeding Sumia? What I've done is to create a huge wall of fred+kellam in the longfort and have her spam javelins in the back, however I'm not sure how to proceed in the really open maps where it's hard to set up and I need to kill units before I die

Thank you this is exactly the specific type of advice I was looking for! Do you have any specific advice on how to feed a particular unit, and how to organize my pairings? Do I only want to enter battle with the units I'm training and not reach the limit? In that same vein, do I want to be just creating a big wall with Fred/Kellam/Avatar without items and give javelins or something to Sumia and level that way?

Can you explain this part to me? Is this because as a base class, you gain more experience when facing the same enemies vs in a promoted class? However doesn't the promoted class tend to have higher growth rates along with higher base stats? In terms of reaching GF the fastest, that's the only option right?

Thanks for the advice, yeah I can feed Donnel a ton of kills to get him to 6 but then I think if I won't be using him I'd rather level him up and feed the rest to Sumia instead. How about general Lunatic strategies? I realize after a certain point in ch5 my MU is doubling and overkilling enemies, should I be feeding most of the rest to Chrom? Or Stahl or something?

Hi guys, starting my first regular Lunatic run on classic. My avatar is +Mag/-Def and I've done around 5 chapters so far. I'm getting to the point where I have to reset countless times to win, and I'm wondering if that's because I didn't optimize leveling for my characters so I want to try again. So my question is, what's the general strategy for distributing experience on Lunatic? I know to keep Frederick to a minimum, and also to try and use weaker weapons to get the most exp possible, but it feels like all the maps I barely have any breathing room for doing that. Oh btw I'm trying to play without grinding on DLC. Also I'm planning on Chrom X Sumia, is it possible to get Sumia to learn galeforce by ch. 13 (Assuming I use a master seal at 10) without making too many sacrifices? And also which characters should I generally be lvling and who should I be avoiding (like I know you'll have a bad time trying to level with Donnel)

Thanks for the great explanation, definitely really useful in getting me started. I have a quick question though- when people are saying they need to hit 75 Spd or 220, what are the exact calculations to get there? Can you walk me through some examples, ie for reaching 75 Speed- Unit A x Unit B= Unit A's max stats (from class + inheritance) + Support level (2) + B's stats (3) + Rallies (10) + Tonics (2) + B's support class + A's skills + B's skills (Which ones count btw, I know the faires do?). Are those everything, or did I miss some? Also what would I need to do to calculate Attack? I know there's some variables I'm missing

So just to be clear I want to pair MaMu(Grandmaster) x Cynthia(DF) and Lucina(Sniper) x Berserker if my goal is to run VVDS+ on Lucina? But if I wanted another VVDS+ pair I would want to marry Lucina and pass that down? Thanks for the help, do you have any suggestions for the rest of the pairings? I'm a total noob at this

Okay so I wanna make a really strong postgame team to take into Apo and generally be strong all around (No restrictions but I don't want any DLC characters except for rallybotting). Thanks Czar for the post, it was really helpful in getting started- here's a list of my tentative pairings: Sumia!Lucina MaMu(+Mag/-Def)!Lucina!Morgan Ricken!Owain Gaius!Kjelle Gregor!Laurent Chrom!Cynthia Libra!Brady Virion!Yarne Lon'qu!Severa Vaike!Nah Stahl!Inigo Henry!Gerome ?Noire How are these pairings in general, and who should Noire's father be? Feel free to switch around any of them btw. Also can I get advice on supports and classes between the children, I'm not sure how to pair them to bring out everyone's potential, or if there are any stat targets to hit. Also I want Lucina to be the main VVDS+ with Owain or Brady, should their fathers be reversed? And if I wanted another VV unit would it be a good idea to pass DS+ to Morgan and pair up with the other boy? Or should she pass down RK. Thanks!

How do you typically build a team? Do you focus on creating the strongest children first and then pair them between each other, or try to create the best pairings and find children to work with each other? I'm trying to get started on teambuilding but I have no idea where/how I should begin. What are some typical strategies for attackers and supports?
