I started playing in January, here's my current roster, more or less.

I got really lucky the last week or so and went from 3 to 5 5* servants after picking up Holmes and Anastasia.

That’s pretty good rooster. However I would not use those Rider Embers for now. You see the next event GudaGuda 3 is mission based event, like Shiki’s event was. And one of the missions is getting the welfare to the third Ascension, and the welfare is a Rider, so those Embers you have will save you a lot of time.

One thing that was on my mind was does every servant deserves a np interlude at some point?  I can think of the following to get an boost in power in the future.

      Reveal hidden contents

Rama, Arthur, Nobu, Nezha, Ereshkigal, lancer Artoria, lancer Tamamo, Georgios, caster Gilles, Avicebron, caster Liz, Kato, Consort Yu, assassin Nitocris, Izo, Cursed Arm Hassan, assassin Scathach, assassin Li, Chacha, Paul Bunyan, Kiyohime, zerker Lancelot, Angra Mainyu, Kiara, Irisviel, Miyu, saber Gilles, Benkei, Caligula, Mata Hari, Gawain, Yan Qing, avenger Nobu, and Suzuka

But for the likes that already have sky high damage (Jalter, Musashi, MHXA) should they get a buff to have damage in the 6 digits easier?

It’s worth noting that it’s extremely unlike for Summer Servants to get NP interludes, though some Summer Servants did get Rank ups. Welfare it’s kinda weird, I think Shiki got one but she’s sort of a special case.

Having more tanks than Mash/Leonidas/Georgios sounds interesting. From those you mention Lip sounds like a match made in heaven for Penthesilea, 6 buster cards, Penth buffs Lip's cards with her charisma and buster buff. Sounds like fun! Yeah, I think I'm going to level Lip then. She's cute too, so win-win.

Tfw you're a broke college student that can't even afford FEH pass

Thanks! Sumanai sounds interesting but I kinda can't bring myself to level him when he's only NP1 and Mordred is NP2, not to mention I'd rather bring Shiki to deal with the usual Rider dragons if only because I always look for excuses to bring her to the fray.

Fionn is a no only because I don't like his smug face. Petty, I know.

Emiya...hmm. I think I should level him, he's a bonus servant in events extremely often, I got him at NP3 from spooks and Hawkeye is a really cool skill despite me not liking his mismatched deck. Yeah, I'll probably level him up after Lip.

About Sumanai, even with Mordred at NP2 and Sumanai at NP1, Siegfried will hit harder because Siegfried has a skill that gives bonus damage against Dragons and the NP deals bonus damage to dragons so both of them together means HUGE damage against dragons. The reason I compared Siegfried and Mordred is that while their niches seem different at first, since Siegfried deals bonus damage to Dragons while Modred deals bonus damage to Arthur enemies, they are actually the same since all Arthur Servants are also Dragons so Siegfried is often the best Servant to kill all forms of Artoria.

Of course it’s ultimately your own choice, if you prefer Mordred then use her. This is a primarily a waifu/husbando collecting game and gameplay is second.

The EXP from farming the hunting quests racks up really quickly, and that's not very good when I'm starting to run out of space (Second Archive is full already) to keep them...so yeah, time to level unused servants time!

I'm not really hurting in any class so I'd like to know who has a more unique niche from this list. Farming is not something I value as much right now because I have plenty of reliable 3t setups that cover almost everything.

Despite all the memes about him being bad, Fionn is actually quite good as a NP looper. He has a NP gain skill and his Arts buff works quite well with looping. He also gets a NP charge in January next year. That NP charge skill also have Taunt and Evade so it can work to avoid ST NPs. However it does have to at Skill level 10 to be a 100% evade.

Sumanai also has a bad reputation, but his buffs made him actually really good. With a Buster buff and NP gain buff on his NP he will hit hard and often NP. He also deals insane damage to Dragons even being better than class advantage in some cases. He’s the best dragon slayer in the game and beats Mordred at her own niche.

Emiya is arguably the best SR Archer other than Chloe. His Hawkeye skill gives a 100% Crit buff so his crits hits really hard. He also has a universal card buff so no matter the card color he will always deal good damage.

Just out of curiosity, this is if you not count SSR sabers right? yeah must be

And if you don`t mind, as someone who doesn`t play nor even follows jp too much, why was Medb not considered so strong? Or why it took so long for jp to realize it? Just giving a quick look her kit seems fairly decent no?

Charisma + crit dmg  / battery (20% x 3) and extra stars are always nice / charm + arts resist down on AoE

That’s cause Saber Medb was really unpopular in japan.
Here’s the explanation from Reddit from this thread:

    Hype-Backlash explanation: Medb (Swimsuit)

Medb's swimsuit in terms of appearance and design-wise, which is looked down upon by most fans due to shown with mediocre design especially her infamous second ascension’s bust-size becoming a meme. Not just Japanese fans feel distracted about this, even some feel the same way too, like this one for example. Her third ascension is based on fashion choice for gravure idol.

There was a JP blogger posted the rant topic of her breast anatomy explanation.

Biidama [ビー玉], literally translates to marble ball, referring to the shaped-sized of Medb Summer’s breasts. Surprisingly her original counterpart didn’t get this term because Dead Heat Summer event shows she is being endowed, as what Conditioner1000 has explained in their comment.

The most popular criticism about why Medb Summer gets overshadowed, in terms of appeal and craziness factor: Many summer servants we’ve seen so far have crazy background story or meme behind their design: Leviathan Ballerina, King Bunny-girl, Flying Jetpack Shinsengumi, Maid Rider, Space Office Lady, One Punch Saint, Cowboy Samurai, Medjeb, Chuunibyou Doujin Artist, and the list goes on. The criticism sounds reasonable for some feel disappointed when they see Medb lacks craziness factor and being a generic gravure idol.

It’s confirmed that her draft design got rejected according to her profile from FGO Material VII:

    Artist Comment

I also got some really extreme Medb-like suggestions from Takeuchi, and well after I kept stacking things on her the design was obviously rejected (lmao).

Although the character design is not a major issue there, it's her plot-relevant is what people find it underwhelming

    • Medb barely contributes to the Servant Festival’s central plot, despite she has her own role centers around her being an idol rich girl, and rival of Ushiwakamaru, Some fans feel this way about her plot-relevant does not impact the overarching conflict between Jalter’s circle, Jeanne's circle, BB and Mysterious Foreigner. She did help Guda and others to fight the XX temporary because she thought the alien stole her limelight (OH DEAR...).

    • Several criticisms of the character are her gravure idol-persona gets flak for being obnoxious and egotistical in a bad way when comparing to Nero, Lambda or Elizabeth, her rivalry with Ushi does not last long then ends up a one-note, and gets her seen as a wasted potential of character writing. Which speaks volumes why she gets a swimsuit but gets the weakest contribution to the plot.

Related to the fanart discussion. When Lambda made her debut, she stole Medb’s thunder for being another character has associated with the penguin Leviathan. It’s barely to see fanart of Medb hanging out with them.

It’s kind of difficult to find Medb Summer on Twitter fanart these days

Random fun fact: We only noticed how strong Medb is around a month ago lol. Shes considered really weak when shes actually so strong she completely shits on the compeititon

I think the reason no one noticed Saber Medb’s strength is because I’ve heard she quite disliked in JP, so people didn’t talk much about her. And her niche probably wasn’t noticed she had to compete with Summer Jeanne’s looping and Summer BB’s card locking and other OP skills(I don’t think she aged well though). Summer 3 was also when people found out about Skadi looping she that also took attention away from Medb. I also heard good things about Summer Ibaraki so maybe Medb had to compete with her for attention too.

Funny thing about this, i actually think Saberlot > Hokusai when things are put into context in JP as is now

IMO Saber arts ranking right now is Caesar > Twins > or >= Medb > Saberlot = Hokusai but yeah a lot of people does tease me about Hokusai when she was released(i actually joked about it as well) but after testing her some things just doesn't click

It doesn't help that Hokusai skillset is in the worst possible position for arts servant

Interesting you mention that, I remember when Saber Hokusai was released, everyone was saying how she outclassed Saberlot because she’s guaranteed NP5. But honestly that’s all she really has above him.
Summer 4 was weird. A lot of people’s first impression of the new Servants ended up not being true. I remember people calling Summer Hokusai a god and was the new Chloe/Rider Kintoki, while saying that Summer Musashi and Summer Okita were trash because of their demerits. And while they’re annoying, you can work your way around them. It’s a little difficult but possible.

However my first impression of Summer Lartoria was the she was trash and that she was the worst SSR Ruler and that impression hasn’t changed to this day. She just sucks.

First, I'm going to try to go back and read the dialogue I skipped, after that, I'll probably try to play them in release order, unless I get into another time crunch.

Ah, all right then. And don’t worry there’s no need to rush. The next event that requires having a late story chapter completed is in October.

  9. 1 hour ago, Rezzy said:

Thanks, I'm now at five 5* servants total: Arthur, Drake, Waver, Holmes, and Anastasia.  The last two I need to level.  I do have Sieg max NP, but he also needs leveled.  I have the problem of lots of nice Casters and not enough XP cards.

It’s still a little far away but an event called Gilfest will solve your exp problems. It’s a lottery event so it gives a lot, and I mean a lot,of exp cards. It’s in early September so as I said, it’s a little far away. Also are you planning to do Part 1.5 first, or do you plan you to rush straight into Part 2? The events that require completing Part 2 are still far away, so you can take your time with Part 1.5 if you want.

Holy shit, that’s insanely lucky! Summer Mordred is a great looper and a great farmer! Anastasia is a great Arts Aoe Caster, but do you have Sieg at NP5? If so his NP might hit a little harder, though both are pretty similar. Sieg loops better but Anastasia can offer support. Stheno is...Stheno. She’s not that good, but she would have been amazing in the Gawain fight teamed with Euryale. Sherlock is a Ruler so congrats in getting your first Extra class Servant outside of Mash. He can be a little hard to use effectively, but he is amazing in the right situation.

Personally I'm at the point where I only look for Lunchtime or one of the 50 Bond Point Heroic Spirit Portraits, so your friend's list looks fine to me. (Outside of events, of course, where first priority is whatever event CE I'm looking for and 2nd priority is a servant that's fun to farm with.)

Since Achilles doesn't have a 50% battery he might be better off with Kaleidoscope or a MLB Imaginary Element, but Mona Lisa is probably better for most people. (Not for me, personally, but I farm hard enough during events that I usually don't need to farm doors for QP.) And is that a non-MLB Dive to Blue?

My reasoning for not giving Achilles a Mona Lisa CE is because I thought that since everyone puts Mona Lisa on their Rider Support, I thought someone could need Rider support for a hard battle and wouldn’t be able to find it since almost puts Riders for farming.

And yeah, that’s a non-MLB Dive to the Blue, I’m really at a loss at what to give to Nero Bride. I’m putting her there because I know that some people may want to use double Bride or even a single Bride for 3t farming shenanigans. Especially when she gets her upgrade to her first skill.

And thanks to the both of you for your opinions! And congrats on NP5 Lancelot! Now if only he would get a NP interlude. Maybe he would even outclass Saber Hokusai!

  12. Could you guys give me some advice for my support list? I’m also planning to replace Herc for Hijikata when I raise Hijikata’s skills. You can suggest any CE and I’ll see if I have them.

oooo Two new servants. Kijyo  who looks like Ibaraki if she has more option to benefit the party. Maybe Ibaraki can get her 2nd or 3rd skill improved. Voyager, interesting being the "newest" servant in Fate. I'm not sure how to calculate how good he is without mention Skadi memes.

Speaking of Ibaraki, I was watching Honako’s 4* tier list and she was a pretty low on the list. To be fait, she aged badly. And Herc beats her at her own niche.

About Voyager, I see videos and damn, he can loop stupidly easy, his only real flaw is his low damage.

Well, yeah, but even in Camelot difficulty tends to be concentrated around a few specific boss fights, and the fights where the difficulty is concentrated in modern content are generally just as or more difficult than what the difficult parts of Camelot throws at you.

Surtr in Gotterdanmerung, just about every major boss in SIN, Arjuna Alter, etc are all waaaaaay harder than Ch 4 Gawain (the hardest thing Camelot has) is.

While I did hear about QSH and Arjuna Alter, I don’t hear people bemoaning about them as much as say, Gawain and Demeter. So I didn’t think of them as super hard.

I remember appmedia made a tweet about Olympus. Where the writers gave up going a low rarity run since it was impossible. I have a bad feeling about what DW will pull next to make fights difficult excluding massive health pools and crits for days.

Well, Honako Green a FGO Youtuber and Streamer managed to do it. He’s famous for only using low rarity Servants and managed to beat some Olympus boss fights without mostly Gold Servants.

  15. 11 minutes ago, Glaceon Mage said:

Eh, I'd say most of the post part 1 chapters harder than Camelot, since break bars introduce quite a bit of difficulty.  The only Camelot fight I'd say still competes with modern content is Gawain, maaaaaybe Mordred but she's really easy to just stall to death.

Break bars do add difficulty but not that much. The only really hard chapter after Camelot is Shimousa I think. Others chapters have difficulty battles, but nothing as hard as Olympus. Sure a certain wolf Avenger in Shinjiku and a certain Berserker in Agatharta can be hard but a friend’s BB and a friend’s Foreigner can beat those battles.

  16. 2 hours ago, Rezzy said:

I have now beaten Camelot, thanks for the help, everyone

Awesome! Babylonia is not as hard as Camelot but it still can be challenging! Expect to see more boss fights with gimmicks for now on. There is a chapter even harder than Camelot, but it will only release in NA at April 2022, so plenty of time to build a strong team.

  17. 4 minutes ago, Rezzy said:

I've got 3* Cu on my team, and have been working on leveling my welfares, too.

Cu is a pretty good survivalist and welfares are often great. Sorry if I sounded pushy, it’s just that sometimes people who comes to FGO from other gacha games often think that the lower rarity Servants are worthless.

  18. 2 hours ago, Rezzy said:

Yeah, I'm pretty reliant on supports, since my own roster is a bit lacking.  The only 5*s I have are Arthur, Waver, and Drake.  They get most stuff done, but against enemies they're weak against, it's hard.

You don’t need to rely solely on SSR to wins battles. 4 Stars, 3 Stars, 2 Stars and 1Stars in this game are actually pretty damn strong and sometimes even better than SSRs. It’s definitely worth you time raising them.

  19. 5 hours ago, DehNutCase said:

Not sure how I feel about Divine Wine, Spirit Roots, and Lamp of Evil-Sealing being in shops so often. I have hundreds of the stuff, and it's not like they're used much either. On the plus side, it means I can skip farming for them without caring too much.

To be fair Divine Wines are a pain to farm, so I don’t mind them being in shops.

Ortenaus Mash is actually really good too because of 2 turn controllable timing taunt

I would agree that some forced cases in LB5 is dumb though. Orten mash actually humiliates Castor and Pollux, and Caenis had a hard time

Orten Mash also destroys Toilet paper

    Zeus?

    Fuck off

Also they give you roma who is useless too. Seriously i hate that fight.

I wouldn’t call Romulus useless in that fight. He can deal good damage with his roman trait niche so at least he’s not a sitting duck like Mash. Plus I believe you can put him in the backline, unlike Mash.

  20. 12 minutes ago, Glaceon Mage said:

At least Roma could be thrown in the backline in favor of a more suitable damage dealer (and from what I remember you still get the normal damage to rulers buff if you do this).  Mash has to be in the front, wasting that precious slot that could have gone to a real buffer.  Regular Mash would have been amazing to have instead with her better NP gain via skill 3, skill based teamwide defense buff, and targetted invincible + battery.

Honestly, I'd love the Zeus fight and it'd be one of my favorite boss fights in the game if it just didn't force LB Mash.  The gimmick was legitimately cool, but Mash just made the whole thing much less fun.

This makes me fear for LB6. We’re definitely facing a Rhongo user in that LB if regular Lartoria has AoE Ignore Invincible, the new one’s NP could have it too. And if LB Mash is forced in fight against them it’s going to be hell since she contribute nothing.

  21. 24 minutes ago, Glaceon Mage said:

Yeah OG Mash is really good, but LB Mash... My heart kinda broke when I saw her "buff" in Olympus.  Just make that skill targettable, that alone would have helped so much.  A Defense ignore doesn't help when Mash isn't an offensive servant to begin with.

It's even worse in the Zeus fight, where the one kind of useful thing LB Mash can do, have two taunts, is basically rendered utterly moot by the fact all the boss's attacks are AoE.  And you can't even plugsuit her out because there's a fight specific Mystic Code.  So she's just there, eating up space that could have gone to someone much more helpful, and likely dying slower than the more helpful non avengers you brought due to the story buffs to her defense.  Why

That Zeus fight really baffles me. On one hand, the forced Romulus is really good and they gave him a skill to allow everyone to deal regular to Ruler enemies and on the other hand we have LB Mash who doesn’t contribute and doesn’t die easily. What even more infuriating is that if it was regular Mash that was forced it would have been perfect for this fight as she would help keep Romulus alive for his skill to deal normal damage to Rulers.

  22. 21 minutes ago, Glaceon Mage said:

Spent three 10 rolls on Poster Girl and snagged one on the third.  Now I can do more memes and help get rid of Mash without plugsuit when the game insists on bringing her with that defense buff and guts in Olympus.

Forced Mash wouldn’t bother me if it was original Mash, but who the hell decided that it was a good idea to turn Mash into an offense based Servant?

  23. 8 minutes ago, Glaceon Mage said:

Yeah this was my reaction too.  With Color Splash I could at least think, "well, they started too soon after Sticker Star's release to see the backlash and by the time people's reactions to Sticker Star were well noted they were too far along to completely change gears, or something"

That... doesn't really fly anymore, so all I can do is blink slowly in confusion over what they might be thinking.

I get the feeling that some big executive is to blame for this. People blame Miyamoto but I don’t he involves himself that much. Maybe is a new director?

3 minutes ago, Etrurian emperor said:

Well, I'd say its too soon to say for sure that its really Sticker Star 3. I think its more likely then the alternative but we haven't yet seen the combat and Bowser does seem to be a partner so Mario isn't fighting on his own anymore. That's got to change something compared to Sticker Star

Actually it seems Mario is still fighting alone.
