I think he should not be banned, he just speaks things out from his mind, to prove one thing, guns are not the problem, the people are.

The kind of people like him is exactly the problem of USA, who make the situation worse for them and everyone else.

How very astute, hanhnn. I see you still hate America as much as ever.

  2. Glendwr wasn't exactly sure what to think of this new situation. Apparently, in the many years since Misea's stay here, someone put a door up, as if this was a sort of secret society. Whether they were still there remained to be seen. "Shall we push on? We have no idea what went on here in the decades since your stay, sir, so why don't we find out? " Glendwr slowly walked past the door and into the room. "Let's see what we can find."

  3. Astaroth snapped back as Aurelio shoved him. "Why do I need an army if all I need is faith?" Astaroth uttered a prayer under his breath before stepping somewhat forward. "I can speak for myself, Princess. Chief Lobos, surely you are aware of Abeloth of Asarai? I am his son, and I strive to be every bit the warrior and leader he was. He taught me all that he knew, and more. My father would marvel at these who are here, as I do. Surely, something worthy of him is worthy of you. " He hoped Cassandra would at least let him say his piece on that. If not, surely she would see that killing him here and now would only diminish her standing, if not her chance of survival. What would she do? Did she value survival over authority? Even at this moment, Astaroth wasn't fully sure.

  4. Even though neither of these games were actually cancelled, their final forms were vastly different than what was shown, so I'll count them. Both Gamecube Kirby and Spaceworld Zelda probably would've been really good and very well received, but whether moreso than Wind Waker (by now) or Return to Dreamland is hard to say.

If you lean towards gun control:

What kinds of guns specifically do you feel we should ban? What regulations do we need?

Would you agree there are parts of the nation that need guns to live more or better?

How would you propose implementing bans on guns that have been commercially available for years?

How long do you believe gun reform will actually take?

Do you believe the media posting manifestos and pictures of the gunmen (in other words, ideology) is more of a motivating factor than guns?

If you lean against gun control:

How much gun regulation do you actually believe there should be? If so, can you name specifics?

If guns are used for self defense and more should arm themselves, do you believe the government should take initiative? What prevents this from making a "Mexican standoff" society so to speak? Where everyone is paranoid because everyone has a gun -- is such an anxious society desirable? If not, then what do you propose we do about this?

What do you think of the argument that we need guns to form a militia against a tyrannical government?

How much would a gun buyback program have to give you in order for you to relinquish rifles?

What do you think of the mental illness argument? In what ways should mental illness be addressed to prevent shootings? Which mental illnesses are targeted? What mental illness did the Vegas shooter have?

I think based on my questions asked it's clear where I lean, but anyone's free to answer. I'm not really expecting anything specific, I'm just gonna take whatever answers in good faith.

I'm gonna answer both because I'm heavily conflicted:

    • Restrict magazine size to 15 rounds
    • If I lived in places where large wild animals exist, take a gun
    • Force a recall on the manufacturer, hope people send in their guns to be modded to follow the law
    • Decades, if not longer
    • Yes

    Here's the against

    • Probably enough that most unofficial mods should be outlawed, and that official ones can't improve fire rate.
    • I don't think this is an easy question to answer, purely because it's a theoretical.
    • I would support it if the militiamen were properly vetted for being able to safely handle the weapons
    • Several times more than the guns are monetarily worth.
    • I would support more research into it, certainly.

I've outlined this in other threads, but I'll say it again here just to put a concrete proposal on the table and see if we can get some meeting-of-the-minds on common ground here.

Don't ban guns. Treat them like cars.

    • License needed to own and operate.
    • Training Course + Field Test + medical fitness evaluation needed to get a license
    • All guns must be marked with an identification number + registered with their owner
    • All changes of ownership must be logged, recorded, and reported to public records
    • Unlawful sales, unlicensed operations, and unsafe operations shall be punishable by degree of severity with fines, criminal penalties, and/or loss of license.

      Acceptable? Unacceptable?

I'm gonna say almost everything is fine except public records and the registry, because those are illegal under the current laws, and actually do go down a slippery slope when implemented.

Guns will never be controlled in America.

This same argument has been used in vain as an attempt to debunk feminism, civil rights, abortion, gay marriage, and many other things. It has never worked, and it never will. There will come a time where your sentiment is seen as a dangerous anachronism, and hardly anyone will want a weapon at all. Maybe not right now, or even in our lifetime, but under no circumstance should you say never.

No gun control. I swear, people are anti-gun just to look good. In America, it's the right of every citizen to possess firearms. To stop tyranny and/or crazy/bad people. Less government is good. It's not their job to take care of us. Their job is to keep the country running. The legislative is to make laws, the judicial to enforce those rules with the help of cops, whom I wholeheartedly support, regardless of circumstance, and the executive branch basically just lets the laws become laws.

America is free because of free speech, where you can say racial slurs or promote bad ideas and not be put in jail for that. We have freedom of speech, or 1A, because we have freedom to bear arms, or 2A. Limiting arms destroys any semblance of freedom, and screw that...I sure ain't down for that.

There are limits. You can't reasonably expect that threatening someone verbally is covered under 1A. So too should there be a limit on what 2A covers or how it's interpreted. And if you think the Bill of Rights should be untouchable, then I should remind you that Amendment 13 supersedes 10A because it says no state can enslave people. You defeat your own argument because not only has the Bill of Rights been overridden before, there have been absolutely valid reasons for it to be so. This is such a case, especially since actual gun lovers are finding out that the NRA and other lobbyists are gaslighting them.

  8. Glendwr heard a distant clap of thunder. "I don't know whether this is the best or worst time for it to be raining, but hopefully, it won't matter that much if Misea's hideaway is nearby." Hearing Almira compare Misea reminded Glendwr of what felt like a different lifetime. He watches closely. I give the money back to the customer. He tells me I could've gone a little higher on the haggle, but I have time to get the hang of it. The rest of the day goes by and they tally the earnings. I didn't make as much as he did, but he wasn't expecting me to. He looks and tells me that nothing could stop me from being a better merchant than him when I get to be his age. Glendwr stopped. Under his breath, he offered a swift condemnation of his uncle's arrogance. "He was wrong." He shook his head. That didn't matter right now, if it ever mattered beyond that moment. Right now, there was only the rain, and how long until they could be sheltered from it.

  9. "Pardon my manners, but I don't think talking philosophy is gonna get us out of harm's way any faster. Not that I haven't thought about similar things, myself. I've killed for money. Money. Worthless metal  with the face of a man long since dead to fuel a system of greed. No offense, Miss Sharena, you are a credit to your occupation. But I sold the lives of people I never knew to men who I would have rather robbed of their lives, all because I was taught by my father that moral superiority was a luxury beyond the grasp of any man. Is that true? Even the brightest of scholars, kings, and sages wouldn't be able to answer that, much less a sellsword." Glendwr was surprised to hear such words leave his lips. It made him sound much wiser than he was, which made him wonder if he even knew what he was saying. He felt that he wasn't in control of himself again, just saying things to make him sound smarter than he was. But it didn't matter, because the words were already spoken, and now it was up to everyone else to respond. Or not.

  10. Once he was safely on the wagon, Glendwr opened his coat to look at the damage the deluded diocese dished out. He saw the sunburn like mark on his skin, and then pulled out the bottle of Pure Water. "Good thing I used some of this, otherwise this would've been a lot worse, and I'm not even the v-word. Oh, well. I must have paid back his charity 3 times over, and Lady Astrid getting in the last word of this debate was gold. I only wish this victory of ours came at a better time. 3 vampires and 2 murders ain't gonna make us real popular for a while. But if this hideout works out, people might forget we even exist. " Glendwr kept his pistol ready, just in case anyone from the village got any funny ideas.

  11. Glendwr looked all around. Everything that happened just now, everything, was the priest's fault. Alex warned him he was coming. "I'm ready for him. This ends, now." With nearly the same anger in his eyes Astrid had, Glendwr glared and retreated slightly as he took a bottle out of his bag. " You bastard! " He splashes the water all over his clothes. "Are you willing to die over this farce?! Haven't enough people been hurt today?! If you be a man, you will answer my challenge and mine alone! No one innocent has died today, and I will keep it that way! I am not a righteous man, but neither are you! I may serve monsters, but so do you! We are no different! Your arrogance blinds you, and thus you must die! Come, then! Render your judgement! " Glendwr keeps his hand near his holster.

Glendwr moves to 14,10 and expends 1 use of Pure Water.

I dislike that reasoning of why the show got canceled in the first place. Of the show being "unsafe" for kids to watch on Disney. It's called Star Wars: The Clone Wars for a reason. I'm a bit worried for next season of it being tone down compared to the rest of the series.

Remember this was about what happened before Rogue One was written. Rogue One was very dark by canon standards, and the new Mandalorian show that's apparently coming is gonna be even darker. Rebels also didn't pull punches in its later seasons, although Resistance is probably gonna be not as dark for a while.

  13. Glendwr cringed as Astrid's fist hit Lua's face. That had to be the hardest punch he'd ever heard. Much as she probably deserved it for selling them out, it was nonetheless brutal. "I could feel that all the way over here, damn!" He then looked further at the priest of this chapter of the Church of the Sun. "Oh, I think he's really mad, now. I think we need to teach him a thing or two about humility. Or just keep running. It's really your choice, sir. " Glendwr was ready to do whatever Misea needed him to do.

  14. Astaroth was totally paralyzed with fear. This was the fearsome Lobos he had heard about, and the legends were more true than anyone was able to recount. He could not speak, and dared not, for he seemed terrible enough to want to eat men. He just stared ahead, away from anyone in the tent already, with a stern look that hid his crippling terror.

Please be respectful. Even Trump wants to fry this guy, and that's saying something. It may be true, but this isn't the time to do something like this.
