Pegasus are only weak to bows if the AI is controlling.

Light Javelins are, like, one of the best moves in the entire game and outranges archers. Peggies are one of the best people to actually fight archers.

If you have Oboro and Azura, then you can have two peggies paired with them and the last under your control. Simple stuff. Iote's Shield is also a thing now, and Bowbreaker helps.

Not true; even the fodder archers can leave some nasty hits if you try going in with no crests or Iote's shield, and bowbreaker is only really good at CAUSING damage, at least from my perspective...

So far it's one cross game, and one not. Not exactly a lot to go off of.

If I recall, Fates didn't have any cross-game ones shown (I could be forgetting one; December was kind of a crazy month beyond the usual 'here's your damn gift you adorable little brat')...

Besides, Cordelia couldnt even use that Gradivus even if she wanted to..... because FREDRICK himself uses it in his awakening attack. along with the sword Mercurius. so camus was rip the moment fredrick got in XD

I think it's just silver weapons; they seem to perfectly match when using the Silver Axe after all.

  4. Obviously they could bring in Summer Scramble things for Awakening and Fates (alongside some new costumes for the SD/other cast) or the haloween stuff could be cool. As odd as it is I'd like to see some costumes based on the generic captains or even the units from the origin games, since some of those designs are actually quite fetching. Oh; and just give Anna costumes based off the three games she appeared in.

I'm so excited for all of this pack! I'm super behind though as I've only completely finished Cold Reception from the Fates pack and though I've cleared Grief (but not completed) I haven't even cleared Land of the Gods or Together to the End for Celica, though I detest her character. I also only have 4 characters at 110 though everyone is at least at 100. Time to seriously grind and get paragon on everyone for that new level cap.

The boss map on Together to the End is the best place to grind for Darios' materials (up to five a sitting). You should finish it at least for that sake.

lmao, Minerva looks so pissed about something; moreso than in the artwork her image is based off of.  She's probably thinking about her asshole of a brother.

Marth looks pretty dapper, too.  Nice that Lyn gets a more proper adaptation of that costume as well.

Also, I knew we'd get those maps.  Ghoul's Teeth?  Check.  Castle Diel?  Check.  Knorda Market?  Check.

Some other interesting info out as well, and I also am actually quite surprised this is coming out next week.  Though Tiki isn't getting an exclusive weapon?  I mean, I know she's the only one who uses dragonstones, but still...

I might be wrong, but isn't the stone she's holding in her costume artwork a new one? I don't recall any of them being that kind of translucent golden, least of all with such a basic design...

Considering how cheap KT and Omega Force can get sometimes, she might ride as normal. Unless they borrow Zhen Ji's old side saddle animation that is.

As for the wedding dresses in general, at least they're way more interesting than what several ladies in DW9 are getting as pre-order costumes.

...aside from the ring girls' new dress (which to be fair is quite lovely) these look like what could be broken armor models for those characters. also that dude's armor is an...interesting, color scheme.

What I worry more is if the poor horses skin is gonna get clipped in just because her dress is so big, and I dont think she sits with both legs on 1 side. XD

Oh that's going to happen; make no mistake about it. I wouldn't be surpirsed if we barely see any of the horse outside of its hooves and wings quite frankly.

    Big poofy skirt - check

Silly big poofy sleeves - check

Silly giant colored sash on the skirt's waist -check

    Lots of frills - check

Yeah, they're the same dress with some minor variations. I'd like some dresses that aren't super poofy, some that are shorter, some with smaller sleeves or even no sleeves, etc.

Is there confirmation that this is the dress Caeda gets married in? We never actually saw official art of their wedding, did we?

I don't think there's enough variation. Like I said, they all have big poofy sleeves, big poofy skirts, etc.

The swim outfits have more variation though. Some females wear one-piece swimsuits while others have two-piece bikinis. The males have long, loose shorts in Awakening, and short, tight ones in Nohr. And Gaius's shorts look different from Frederick's, at least, since Gaius's are black with candies on them, and Frederick's are silver and blue like his armor and bearing the same symbol that his pauldrons have.

So you're ignoring the more compact gauntlets, or the fact her forearms are covered? what about the layering of the dress itself, or the omission of thin, fabric in Ceada's design as well as the lowered emphasis on gold inlay?

Nevermind; it's clear your not willing to actually humor the merit of this costume...

They are the same dress, though, just with a slightly different color palette. There are lots of different style wedding dresses in real life, I would just like to see that in the FE world too. Like for Hoshido, they'd get Japanese themed wedding gowns.

Yeah, but I'm not asking for several guys to don the same swim shorts and hoodie. lol

The dresses have sufficient variation in their patterns and flourishes to justify separate costumes in my eyes (not to mention the fact that they're mostly seperate classes, with only Ceada and Cordelia sharing a moveset). Besides, would Xander, Ryoma, and Chrom be in the same outfit and vest or would they be wearing something besides swim trunks since Frederick would already have them? Who gets the 50s stripped onsie?

  11. 6 minutes ago, Anacybele said:

An homage to what? That bride dress debuted in Awakening, not SD, you know. And Lucina already got that dress as a costume as well.

It's the variant featured from Heroes. If anything I'd like to see Lyn, Cordelia (and if she was in this game, Charlotte) get a matching outfit(s). More costumes are never a bad thing, especially since I'm sure you'd want a summer Scramble Frederick, hmm?

I won't be bothering with Caeda's dress. I don't like it at all and I wish for once they'd use a different dress design instead of using the same one over and over and over. Even if that dress DID look good, what happened to different styles/designs? I'd like to see variety here.

It's a game built off of homages and call backs from across the series' history; they'd be getting loads more flack for changing her dress as opposed to just letting it be a straight homage.

It's less that they wanted to focus on Fates and more like SD really didn't matter as much as the other two games. It's basically only there because Marth is popular and he comes from the very first game in the series.

There's not that many movesets but this is a starting warriors. One Piece for comparison got only 13 base movesets which are also 13 base characters. Sure, Hyrule Warriors exist, but it exists in a different contest where it was from a much bigger (and more flexible) franchise than FE, and was a Wii U game. The Switch had basically one big game a month and I'm sure this aggressive 1st year strategy led to no-negotiable deadlines, unlike with the Wii U. And it shows with how a lot of the game's content has glaring holes such as the missing personal weapons (Look at the no-scroll timerifts in the first two maps, only Lissa doesn't have a map that could've easily been about her scroll) and the NPC 4 that became DLC despite stuff like datamined supports and profiles detailing moveset elements that enemies don't use (Oboro's whirlwind).

I also feel like people REALLY underestimate the work put into clones. Their fanciest moves are unique. Each clone is 2 new models besides Elise (who kind just gets stuff on her shoulders and that's it lol), and Warriors is fully voiced, from battle banter to character-exclusive supports. 8 clones is a fair bit for the game they had to design their systems from the ground-up.

You're not wrong, but with how many times they ended up shooting themselves in the foot regarding the marketing for this game, I think it's fair to say that SD had almost no thought put into it compared to Awakening and Fates. We could argue the reasons why until we're all blue in the face; it doesn't really change what happened. I pretty much agree with everything in else and just want to add that personal weapons should've been a free patch (or at least not hide the likes of Tiki's 'personal' weapon on her amiboo)

You know what, I'm pretty sure we're agreeing with each other here then, but it's not that hard to believe Marth isn't still a popular character.

Forgive my butting in, but that's really not all that relevant; Marth was the introduction to Fire Emblem for nearly everyone outside the west thanks to Melee. Even if he wasn't in the first proper game released overseas, a lot of people still associate the series with him.

The complaints did indeed include the roster. But not to the extent of how much the west did.

    I share that notion.

It was indeed a shame that their roster was mostly composed of Fates/Awakening characters. I will admit that much.

I think the bulk of it was simply that Shadow Dragon had almost nothing in comparison; a self-same Pegasus knight, the only dragonstone user, and Marth. I'll admit I'm not so familiar with SD and it's follow-up, but I think they could've at least included an armor user and say, Camus. I do ultimately understand they wanted to make JUST a Fates-themed warriors game, and if they'd done so that would've been fine...ish, so long as they included characters beyond the royal family and their retainers. Hell, even having Garon, Sumeragi, Mikoto, and Arete as playable options (or at least as enemies) would've been an interesting notion for Fates Warriors.

Despite how fun the game is (nearing about ninty hours thus far; not bad between the likes of BoTW, Odyssey, and Xenoblade 2), there's a startling lack of play-styles outside of the sword types. We now have three distinct spear sets, but still none of them that are 'armor' type a la knights and generals. I'm fairly confident that Awakening will add a new sword type for Oliva as well as a magic type for Tharja, but by that point its too little too late. If they wanted to go with clones sets, they could've gone for broke and added a lot more characters to at least balance things out. I dunno; part of me does want to see a FE:W 2 if only to see what they'd add (fingers crossed for more magic types, hidden weapons, dragon-users, and featured games).

Oh shoot. The edit didn't go through.

    It had the translation.

"They had their complaints, but none of them were super extreme selfish ones". The latter which I've seen of pretty much saying people who enjoy the game or are excited about it are terrible fans.

An honest mistake, and google translate did give me the gist (I was perplexed at the use of selfish, but turns out it was more accurate then I gave it credit for). Personally, I've got no issue with people not liking the roster decisions (although those that keep quipping 'call me when x or y are added' have long since run their course...), but belittling those that DO enjoy the game...yeah that's a few steps too far IMO.

Popularity is largely irrelevant when it comes to Marth though. He is the (old) mascot. He is Fire Emblem. They said it best in that you can't have a crossover without Marth.

Isn't that just the nature of this community?

You're not wrong on either accounts
