  1. Voted 10/10/maybe. Maybe because I just paired her with Lindhart in my just-finished Blue Lions run. Some things are better left to the professionals.

Completed my Black Eagles run and had the wanted end pairing with Edelgard.

I did not know until the A support that Edelgard shares the same fate as her.

This puts her in a total different spotlight to me regarding her motives.

I am really glad that I discovered this support because it is not only a good ending for Lys, but gives very important backround knowledge.

    Spoiler

I haven't played Edelgard's route, but I figured as much since Edelgard has white hair. Watching cutscenes with child Edelgard and checking her status on the battlefields late-game pretty much confirmed what I suspected.

  2. I hope bumping a 20-day old post is OK here. I just finished my first playthrough because I spent way too much time fiddling with menus and actually walking in the monastery instead of using the R button map.

I've been wondering about the same thing, and my first reference (https://h1g.jp/fireemblem/?クリア後に表示されるもの) said pretty much the same thing, except that A (if no A+ available) is treated as the same as A+. And I think that's probably not right, seeing how I've got Dimitri with A support with multiple characters and somehow ended with Flayn (who does have A+ with Dimitri, I think), who should be the last in the list among those with A support.

Now, I'd like to know if anyone has a more solid conclusion on how are the endings determined, and if there's any way to tell A+ from A, since I think the "Share a Meal" list shows only A+ for pairs with explicit A+ supports (or Byleth, who has potential S supports), unlike the internal B+ and C+.

Personally, I do wish to have some control over these pairings, since they affect what can be unlocked in the next playthrough. Intentionally holding off A support would mean the same A support cannot be unlocked in New Game+.

  3. I finally managed to recruit all students.

Nothing good ol' bribery can't solve.

I managed to recruit them all in a span of 2 months (5-ish visits to the monastery), spamming flowers and gifts until their support levels are good enough.

EDIT — see comment at the end

It seems that it's not just the letter grade that's important, as raising support points without going to the next level can also change my recruitment attempt from being unsuccessful to being successful.

It seems to me that this applies to the weapon levels too: Riding D+ and C support → Marianne didn't join; went to a battle to raise Riding to almost C (still in D+ range) and no change in support points → Marianne could be recruited.

It turned out that it's a case of Byleth getting C+ support with the students. Doesn't quite explain what I've seen with Marianne, though…

    END EDIT

And now I just realized that maybe I shouldn't have tried to recruit them as soon as the opportunity is there. For each passed month they join at 2 levels higher. Since the number of units that can be deployed is almost always 10, I don't really have any chance to use students from other classes.

Y’know I’ve always wondered why olivia was the third character chosen. I mean owain and tharja I get cause tharja was the third most popular female character and owain was the most popular male child. While Olivia is indeed popular(placing 8th on the female popularity poll) , I’m wondering why she was chosen over say Severa or Inigo.

I think Owain has fulfilled not only the child's spot, but also the one for being a cross-Awakening/Fates character. Leo and Niles even discussed this in their support conversation. Severa or Inigo would be redundant for narrative purpose.

As for why isn't it another parent character... I don't know. Maybe playstyle. Olivia's back-handed weapon seems to suggest she will be getting a unique moveset.

I'm curious if Gangrel will be played by Darios in either Tharja or Olivia's maps. Or if somebody will be Campari in the former's.

I can see Darios reprising Gangrel's role. Maybe Olivia's map will ignore Campari, since it's Gangrel who gives a bigger impression in that map anyway.

It'll probably work. Horribly. But a smarter strategist wouldn't use it on a mission where they're the only one available. :P

I can imagine it now. Get the blessing, enter battle as the sole unit, fail to attack, get a game over, try again, wonder why nothing works and slowly go insane.

Then why show off all the other models? His is literally the only one not here out of the base Awakening group save for Chrom, and that's probably because they're showing off his costume instead. So I assume Frederick's not getting one.

EDIT: Oh, Robin's isn't here either, so I guess he/she also won't have one.

They didn't show Robin either. (EDIT: okay, you noticed that as well.)

But yeah, armor break models apply to all characters in that game. DLC1 gave all Fates characters armor break models, and DLC2 did the same to all Shadow Dragon and miscellaneous characters.

Skill info. Note that the skill names may change, although at least one should remain the same.

Olivia has Galeforce, which raises Awakening and Warrior gauge each time a strong enemy is defeated.

Tharja has Destruction Pact, which increases attack power with high HP, but causes HP to slowly decrease with time.

Owain has Balancing Resonance (very loose translation), which increases attack power the smaller the difference between the STR and MAG stats.

Tharja's skill raises attack with low HP. The lower her HP is, the higher her attack power.

Is this at all like Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate? Reset a maxed level character to 1 up to 10 times, each time adding additional stats to their level 1 bases which stack with the prior resets.

The page only mentioned resetting the level to 1 in exchange for materials. Given how long it takes to raise a character's level to 130 (probably 150 after this update), I'm not going to do that even if it does ultimately result in stat gains.

  8. Wait, what?

    March 22?

    We're getting the update soon?

Oh, and the accompanying update gives the option to reset your character's level to 1 (not gonna do that), and there's a new weapon property that changes the damage to a fixed value, negating damage deduction induced by unit effectiveness.

There are also new blessings that raises enemy level to 150 (good for grinding, I suppose?) and introduces tactician mode (make playable characters unable to damage enemies, and make NPCs much stronger).

    Looks interesting.

  9. This is how I level up (with DLC 2):

Level 104 Pincer Escape, Linde's map. Most enemies there aren't standard infantry units, and if you have effectiveness against dragons and either riders or fliers, you can take them down very quickly. They're at level 104, and can provide almost a full level even if you're at level 125 with Paragon active.

  10. Switch version player here. I hate those timed maps too. There's this level 107 Shadow Rush DLC mission with the shadows spread so far apart, and half of the enemies are regular infantry units that you can't use weapon effectiveness against. Reaching 1000 KOs within 7 minutes is going to be really difficult. I think I'll manage that once my units get more powerful (they are at level 104-ish and don't have Astra or Luna now, and not getting S rank at this point isn't exactly surprising).

So, I've finally got around to playing the DLC and I must say the new history mode maps are pretty interesting, the new characters as well (though I can stand Azura even less now and they utterly botched Linde's voice, but that's beside the point).

But... there is that ONE battle in Oboro's history mode map that restricts you to Spears only, so it's only Azura, Oboro, Hinoka, Cordelia and Shiida, three of whom are fliers, who are weak to bows. And what does half the map consist of? Archers and Snipers. Consider my pet peeved.

    Thoughts?

Also, I have a new found loathing for "You have 5 minutes, kill as many mooks as you can" missions. Especially if an S-rank rewards you with a scroll for a weapon for a character you (want to) main, but you can't get it, because 1) none of the males are fast enough to kill 1,600 people in the span of 5 minutes and 2) they spawn slower than... something that is really slow.

Can't say anything about the voices. I play with Japanese voices (actually, the game itself is Japanese) and they seem fine to me. Except that Azura's singing gets in the way of the BGM and I don't like that.

I cleared that Oboro's map with Oboro and Azura (who aren't weak against bows) with the other two fliers hiding behind them via Pair Up.

As for that male-only mission, I gave Leo (level 104)'s weapon dragon effectiveness and Astra. I reached 2060 at the end, just above the 2000-KO requirement for S rank in the Switch version.

Oh hey I meant to ask this earlier, but for some of the arena,s did they aadd more special dialog for characters coming to the rescue? Caeda & Oboro had a conversation that I swear I hadn't seen before (about fashion) and Owain & Lissa had a really cute one in another.

e: I know the base game had some, but it felt either more generic or wasn't there for everyone. Like Caeda & Marth had one when they rescued each other, I think Marth & Navarre had another, Owain & Niles, but I think Owain & Lissa were involved but didn't have one? It's been a while since I've done owain areans, however.

I've seen Marth and Linde, but that's pretty generic.

  12. Question regarding the Personal Weapon column: Does it count the DLC? I'm asking because Tiki, Caeda and Anna should all be on the same page. They all have personal weapons obtainable in History Mode if you have DLC 2. (Or are you counting Tiki's amiibo but otherwise ignore DLC 2 weapons for non-DLC characters?)

I think this column is ultimately going to be all yes. DLC 3 will give Awakening characters their weapons.

Also, Fred is weak against armor effectiveness in addition to mount.

EDIT: I think you may have misspelled Iote's Shield.

EDIT: HP doesn't go beyond 999? That's disappointing.

  13. As of version 1.4.0, the crashes still happen. In my case, it always happens when fighting the bosses, but it's not limited to specific characters. I just had one while playing as Linde.

I wonder if developers are aware of this issue.

FYI Camilla's kill count farmer is her flying strong attack. You fly around with her and press strong attack which will make her slam into the ground. It has a great radius and just instant kills normal mooks. Note that her flying strong attack is not the same as her strong 1 which is what she does while on the ground and you press strong attack.

Oh, My bad. I knew the read mentioned flying strong, and I was somehow under the impression that strong 1 is the same move. Thanks for letting me know.

  15. I got a question!

I know from the gameplay tips thread that using Camilla's Strong 1 can be a good way to rack up kill counts, but this is risky when I have to face a Falchion wielder. I also haven't leveled up Camilla enough to the point that I feel safe bringing her (Lv 45) to Lv 60+ battles. Is there other way to raise kill counts?

An example for such tough battle is the one that unlocks Brynhildr's Scroll. I could only get up to 1600 KOs, though I admit I did so using rather ineffective units (such as infantry without Astra or other skills).

  16. I play the Japanese version and read Japanese guides, but the History Mode-related badges are:

    絵画コレクター  / イラストをすべて完成する
    (Finish all illustrations)

    英雄たちの軌跡 / ヒストリーモードのバトルをすべてクリア
    (Finish all History Mode battles)

    年代記の覇者 / ヒストリーモードのバトルをすべてSランクでクリア
(Finish all History Mode battles at rank S)

    かけだし戦士 / ヒストリーモードでSランクをとる
(Finish any History Mode battle at rank S)

    収集癖 / イラストを一つ完成させる
    (Finish 1 illustration)

    運命か、絆か / ヒストリーマップを一つクリア
(Clear the FE13 History Mode map)

    その手が拓く未来 / ヒストリーマップを一つクリア
(Clear the FE14 History Mode map)

    悪の司祭ガーネフ / ヒストリーマップを一つクリア
(Clear the FE11 History Mode map)

    キアランの公女 / ヒストリーマップを一つクリア
(Clear the FE7 History Mode map)

    再会そして・・・ / ヒストリーマップを一つクリア
(Clear the FE2 History Mode map)

I have no idea what the hidden items may refer to. Compare the SAMURAI GAMERS list with this page shows that the badge Seeker of Truth isn't there. My save file has them all listed as ????????????, so I can't tell what's going on there. Cross-checked with this page and this page, and I couldn't find anything related to Seeker of Truth either.

    Unused badge, maybe?

  17. I paired Odin with Elise in Fates too.

I don't think they're going to add support conversations for existing characters, but I was hoping for Chrom and Caeda.

For the DLC characters, I want to see:

Tharja / Tiki (♯FE-related, although I don't know how can that translate to Warriors)
    Tharja / Caeda (same)
    Owain / Leo
    Owain / Niles
    Navarre / Caeda
    Oboro / any Nohrian royal
Minerva / Lucina (to talk about Cherche's wyvern)
    Azura / Olivia

Too bad there aren't even more characters; I imagine Olivia talking to her complete-opposite granddaughter to be entertaining.
