  1. Its designed for Normal mode play (since I've never unlocked any Hard modes before). Also, its supposed to be a bunch of Nightmare changes, because thats the only part of hacking I fully understand. Even after watching tutorials, I can't get it, and I get locks and freezes. And I'd kinda like to create a hack where I don't have to deal with the stupid buzz of death.

  3. With my finals being completed now, I can focus more on this hack. Here are somethings you might expect: -2nd Tier cap changes, possibly to a universal value -All trolling removed, unless it makes the game easier. I will be focusing on strictly making a hard-type hack now. -New faces, including a certain Troubadour -Thracia Fog of War -Promotion Level changed -Reduced Deployment Slots on all chapters -Roy movement change If anyone has any sugguestions, I'm open to all of them. Also, would anyone be interested in playtesting the 2nd version?

  7. So after the male cavalier animation plays in FEditor, I insert the female one?
  8. Rather than make a new thread, I'm going to ask a new one here. I want to put in FE8's Female Cavalier animation into FE7. The class has data in FE7, so I don't know what to do with it. Does it matter where I put it in FEditor? And how would I go adjust the pointers in Nightmare? Misso: IIRC, that was covered in Ch.49, I think.
  9. It's /just/ hockey. I don't see why there is ANY need for this behavior; it's dreadful. This hopefully doesn't change the opinion of others about us Canadians; we're rarely like this. After watching the news for the past 3 hours, I'm proud to say that I've got a new definition of idiot; the crazed fans in Vancouver. Seriously, if you're taking part in: fights, loots, destruction of property, fires, etc, and you go and show your face on camera, you /deserve/ to be called an idiot. Plain and simple.

  11. Not everyone's broken. I only posted a few of the examples of the "lackluster" characters; there are many more. It wouldn't be a trollhack without having 75% of the cast nearly unusable. All enemies have a boost of 5 to all of their bases, and some have a con boost of 5 as well. Enemy Growths have also been doubled. Oh, and the bases of bosses have been doubled, making Murdock, Zephiel and Idoun (now that Legendary Weapons aren't effective against Manaketes) are huge tanks.

  13. Well, hi. I'm WINgull, and I'm a new member of the hacking community. </obvious intro> So, what is this project? Well, for my first hack, I wanted to try something simple, but still have fun trying to build it. There aren't many FE6 hacks around, so I thought "Why not base one on FE6?". So that's what I did. The other part of my inspiration comes from watching Astra's (and Cam's) LP of Super Thracia. I then came up with the idea to create a hard game, possibly as hard as FE12 Lunatic. But, I suck at FE, so my view on hard is probably different from yours (Note, I'm looking for playtesters). So, here came my project: The Blessed Binding Blade!. So, what's up with this project? Like I said above, this project was to try to make a hard game. During the development, I figured that I'd try to do some trolling as well. So, expect shenanigans from this game, and a lot. Here are a few examples: -Marcus joins with Paladin bases and growths -Ellen, Saul and Yodel have zeros in all their stats, except Con, and 5% growth rates on all stats. The same can be said for dancers. -Buffed growths for, mostly, everyone. Enjoy Karel with 255 growths in all stats (for his measly one level) -Sealed Sword and "S" Ranks lack effectiveness on dragons -Speaking of Dragons, Bolting and Thunder are effective on them. Fimbulvetr is now effective on fliers. -Archers don't suck. -Most characters have a buff in bases, some for troll reasons (Sofia and 30 luck). -Crit Rate boost for Swordmasters, Berserkers, etc has been boosted to 45%. I'm not fully done, so I am willing to take suggestions (as long as I can figure out how do to it). FAQ Why the Japanese version? For two reasons: 1, for added strange-ness. (Note: I'm not saying that Japanese are strange) 2, if you've noticed in the Questions forum, I tend to struggle with FEditor. And because I'd like to add some other characters, I don't have to edit the text, because many SFers don't know Japanese. So what else do you want to do? Probably add some new PCs, like Guinivere and Gale. Possibly some others from the other GBA FEs. Maybe some original characters as well. Some Screens Horray! They're actually pretty annoying. One of the many examples of a solid base buff. Expect many little +1s, +2s or even +3s. Unless... You're using one of these guys. Marcus got old...fast. Thany. One of the many trolled characters. I know that compared to some of the other hacks (like Elibian Nights, Yuri's Sidestory, Tactics Universe, Dream of Five, etc), Blessed Binding Blade may seem very simple. But I really hope that you'll give this a try.

  16. I changed Wolt to a Soldier, so I wanted him to start with an Iron Lance instead of a bow. And I knew I had to use Nightmare, I just wasn't sure which module. So thanks Bryan.
  17. Is it possible to edit a unit's inventory without using Event Assembler in FE6?
  18. So I've loaded up my hack with my first events, and I was ready to play it for errors. Well, I encountered one as soon as I moved my units. What it looks like before I select my unit is shown in the following attachment. Looks kinda normal. I haven't selected Sage!Marcus yet, so everything looks fine. But, when I select Marcus, I get the image in the following attachment. Woah, where did Marcus go. And why does Elfire (the only weapon he possesses) have infinite range (the map is 20x20, and Marcus starts in (IIRC) [6,5]? I'm not going to move Marcus anywhere, and just press A. As you could guess, Marcus can attack anywhere, as seen in the next attachment (Note: After this, if I attack any unit, even if I could normally attack them, I get a freeze.) But wait, there's more. If I select a unit that can't equip its weapon (The Prince only has Thunder, and his Anima rank hasn't been altered), my screen looks like the following screenshot. I'm not sure what happened. The only things I've edited in Nightmare are: Having the Chapter fade to map, and editing where the Prolouge Map is located.
  19. I sure can. If you're wondering about the classes, I haven't gotten around to making a definitions.txt EDIT: I tried opening the ROM again. Only now I can't do anything with it. I get a blank white screen when it loads, and resetting it results in the game blank screen too. So I tried a back up to fix this, and I get a freeze when the game tries to load the map. I've gone back through and checked my offsets, reinserted the map, and repeated the process that worked the first time. But nothing changed. This is happening with all of my backups.
  20. The only turn event I have is to load the units through the opening_event.
  21. So I started over (not a big loss), and everything was working fine. I decided to edit the names of my characters. I saved it with FEditor, and went to test the game. Everything loaded fine. Player Phase played by on the screen, and then all the units (player and enemy) disappeared and it froze. What could have caused this? I checked it again with FEditor, and my text was saved.
  22. Okay, I am really confused now. So I went into my text file, and removed the event that triggered the cutscene. Then I went into my game, and I got a bunch of vertical green lines running through the screen. Then I went into FEditor to remove Selena's portrait and try to replace it with Marcus, the original character. But I can't even access the Portrait Editor now. All the other tools work fine now. I'm debating restarting now, because I can't figure out what the heck is going on.
  23. It was a cutscene where Hector and Eliwood were talking about sparing, and their win loss record with each other. It was their C-support text. It worked before I inserted the Cecillia picture. Like the Cecilia picture, it was a test to see if I could figure out how to do it. Here's the text. It hasn't been edited in anyway. So you're wanting me to get rid of Selena's blinking frames. Because I have her in to replace Cecilia's sprite, and it's still freezing.
