  1. There is much, much more to World War II. What you describe is just pure human failure. "Sanity" is a social construct as much as idealism is, don't forget that. I do see your point, but i respectfully disagree that what you call realism and idealism cannot be told apart so easily. The social creed we adhere to, for example is a social construct based on idealism, as all of humanism is. From a realist viewpoint, we are mere animals, nothing more and nothing less. Violence is not an universal taboo, rather part of natural law, while pacifism is a social construct as well. I assume ideals are nothing more than a nuanced, human-exclusive form of instinct. Also, you get bonus points for JoJo. Back to the main topic, what you describe as idealism, realism, and greed or desire can't be told apart in the given context. The threat those three pose is natural, and inevitable, as they are irremovable pieces of human nature. You folks also confuse realism with humanism a lot.
  2. And he comes with the Falchion, Noble Rapier and Mercurius (or is that a generic Silver Sword.)! Bloody adorable is an understatement, however. After viewing these, i probably need a checkup regarding diabetes.
  3. Alludes to at least three different video game franchises within avatar, personal data and signature.
  4. I'm as new as you, but i'd still like to welcome you. Depression and anxiety are serious issues, thus i'd like to commend your bravery for reaching out to others. Mechanics are something you learn as you play, and in-depth mechanics are not neccesary for a conventional playthrough. It's counterproductive trying to force this knowledge upon you, so i recommend taking it slow and learn as you do. This is mostly a friendly gathering, no university that expects you to redeem your value through results, if that helps you.
  5. Indeed, they deserve another honourable mention. Personally, apart from what's been mentioned so far, i'm really fond of Milka and Ritter's Sport. Favourites are the white varieties or those with biscuits embedded. Though this got me thinking, how about we join one of countless candy exchange clubs on the 'net or yet open our own?
  6. Indecisiveness is a privilege. Stagnation is glorified suicide. You already know the answer yourself. Hypothetically speaking, in the worst case she won't be interested or is already in a relationship. There will be always more women around than your acquaintance and thus the possible gains do outweigh the losses by far. Other people, even your crush are as insecure in certain areas as you are in making contact. This is universal, and does not only affect you. If i may give some advice, you should try to remember that. 頑張れ!
  7. So that is why he lacks the vents, vulcans, head cameras, V-crest and the beam sabers. Your user title however, now makes a lot more sense to me. Although i probably don't even want to know what a Super High School Breeding Club is supposed to be. Much better. Much appreciated. That's Aristotle for you!
  8. Huh, didn't expect to make such a splash here. Thank you folks for the warm welcome. Thank you. Finally found someone on the internet who is magnificiently proficient at getting my name wrong. Thanks. どうもありがとう. May the glorious red comets strike fear into the hearts who dare to defy us. ORAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I thank you as well. Thank you~ If you don't mind explaining, what is a "Tanaka Gundam" supposed to be? Cheers. Don't you consider it strange that no one linked me to Guns N' Roses yet? If that makes you comfortable, just imaginarily replace Awakening with Gaiden to make the hipster bomb drop full stop blow up in the faces of the haters. Wicked. Thank you~ Thank you. I've known characters like Marth and Ike from earlier Smash Bros. installments and especially Nintendo franchises seem to have a vast history that's always nice to explore. To be honest, i only read most of it because i didn't had a clue where to start, with many games being Japan-only. If you could point me in a certain direction, a PM would be highly appreciated. It's not just the avatar character. I guess i have a penchant for redheads, but it's always less embarassing when meeting someone with similar tastes. Fates does truly have wonderful reds to choose from, but what i miss is the third body model, whose absence is well explained given the context. Whoops, i did exactly that. Fortunately the expierience of playing is completely different from the theoretical knowledge. Reading up on Awakening i was initially pretty underwhelmed the noble saves the world from a dragon and/or dark warlock (now with 20% more wincest) formula. Playing the game itself and having more content to immerse into the setting than a stoic summary was truly relieving in comparision. "lovely"? Are you perhaps from Something Awful? Also, CORDELIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
  9. Greetings, you may call me Aramis. Like most of the new recruits members i have been a lurker for quiet some time, measuring close to a year, since i discovered this website. I am also one of those dreaded newschool players that started out with Awakening, as the red-haired Robin from Smash Bros. was just such a delight to watch battling which convinced me to pick up a copy of her game of origin. Despite being heartbroken that i couldn't recreate her appearance in the game, the positives outweigh the negatives by far, as the chess-esque SRPG gameplay and the character interaction won me over. The latter feels a little like having a social equivalent to an ant farm, which is nice to watch over. But so far, i've spent most of my time in my new hobby reading about it at databases, and as a result of this i now know the plot of every single Fire Emblem game, most of the important characters and some bits and pieces about the mechanics without having played them. As you can imagine, that is pretty boring and to leap into the action and get started i decided to sign up here. I'm looking forward to play more Fire Emblem and getting to know you all better. Sincerely, Aramis
  10. I suppose the series is in the process being killed off silently. With the emergence of games like Mass Effect and their extensive world-building the Metroid series, in it's traditional state just cannot compete. To uphold the name and legacy while updating the neglected aspects of the series seems too much of a burden for the development team to bear. And then there is the dreaded measurement by financial success, which severely limits the creativity involved in a possible development process. In short, i don't consider you a pessimist but a realist instead.
