Jags defense looks pretty stout right now. Looks like we have a real game on our hands (assuming the Patriots offense gets it together)

There's no way to really tell before the game, honestly. It's definitely worth speculating about though without question, given that the Patriots had to pull Brady from his media availability in order for him to see a doctor. It certainly doesn't hurt Jacksonville's chances, at the very least

I don't think the Jags have much of a chance in Foxboro this Sunday. If they stick to the same offensive gameplan they've used all season, they're going to find the sledding to be very tough. Fournette is the type of back that gets swallowed up by this Patriots front 7 (if you don't believe me, look at Henry's numbers from last week.) Part of that is because of James Harrison, who is an absolute beast playing against the run.
I think Jacksonville's only chance offensively is to mix in a ton of spread formations with quick passes, and to utilize Yeldon out of the backfield. Yeldon is a huge mismatch in the passing game against any linebacker on the Patriots.
Offensively, I think the Patriots will utilize their own running back's heavily in the passing game. That and a steady mix of Gronk/Amendola should probably be enough to win the game. Granted, if that Jacksonville defensive line can play out of their minds, this game could turn into a slugfest and come down to the wire

I doubt that changes his demands from earlier. I'll be watching his situation closely. Hopefully the Patriots can sign Dion Lewis long-term before Bell does inevitably reset the RB market

I read speculation that the safety was trying to avoid a head-to-head hit so he went low, but he honestly just launched himself without even trying to look. It was a pretty tough way to end your season, no doubt

That was definitely an incredible play, but if that safety had any common sense whatsoever, he tackles Diggs inbounds and the game ends right there. Either way, that was a fantastic game and a quality win for the Vikings

A lot think of the problems on the Steelers start with Tomlin. One of the things Bill Belichick does without fail is ensure that his team is focused on the opponent that week and absolutely NOTHING else (also led to the infamous "we're on to Cincinnati" line from Bill after the blowout KC loss and death of the dynasty.) Tomlin's team this year showed that it was not always focused on the opponent at hand by constantly playing down to bad opponents. Obviously I'm not trying to trash the Jaguars, but Leveon Bell's tweet is an example of a player (and an important one, too) clearly not 100% focused on that week's game.
Hell, even Tomlin himself said on national tv in NOVEMBER that he was looking forward to the rematch with New England in the championship game. I think Tomlin doesn't help in any aspect whatsoever, leading to his coordinator's doing the same old crap they always do.
Is anyone watching this Vikings-Saints game? I find it bizarre that the Saints are having their punter play with an obvious injury. I feel like he could be seriously hurt and shouldn't be in the game.

I don't quite understand multiple Steelers players coming out and talking about next week's game. Hopefully all that BS will inspire Bortles to do amazing things and throw for 150 yards

lol I'm very aware that the Patriots make it more often than anyone else. I'm just explaining why basically everyone outside of Pittsburgh is rooting for Jacksonville today, including me

It has more to do with the fact that the Steelers are in the mix for the AFC title almost every season. There are very, VERY few (if any at all) people rooting for the Steelers or Patriots that aren't fans of the teams themselves. I mean, only one QB who isn't Ben, Brady, or Peyton Manning, has represented the AFC in the Super Bowl in the past 15 seasons? And that guy turned out to be basically average at best. Fans want to see something new, can you really blame them?

I understand why you'd feel that way. And, while you're partially correct, you have to think about the other factors in play. The Steelers are already paying Antonio Brown huge money. I'd estimate Bell is going to get a long term deal somewhere around $15m per year. In the short term he could be worth that money, but he's also had a lot of touches the past couple of seasons (including and absurd total of like 425 this season)
There's really no way to tell how much longer he can go like that, even at age 26. Plus, paying him, AB, and Ben top tier money would really hamper the Steelers, cap-wise

Really interesting reading LeVeon Bell's comments about the franchise tag today. Specifically, he would consider retiring if he gets tagged again. That man is going to break the bank next season and I'm excited for it

The numbers in paranthesis indicate the spread. For example, if I were to bet the Steelers -7, I wouldn't win the bet unless the Steelers win by more than 7. However, if I bet the Jags +7, I win the bet if the Jags lose by less than 7 (or win) because the Steelers are favored by 7 points

Sounds like Artie avoided major injury. He may not be available Sunday, but it's not like the Jags have much talent at WR (or QB, for that matter)

I want so badly to pick the Falcons, but I find myself actually believing in Philly. I can't really explain why, either, as I've been hating on Philly since before Carson Wentz went down. Note: I have 0 faith in Nick Foles whatsoever. I just think Philly can pull off the same strategy Denver did when they carried decrepit Peyton Manning to a championship. That strategy being defense and a healthy dose of running the ball. Atlanta really struggled in Philly last season, and the conditions for this game are shaping up to be pretty shitty. If this game devolves into any sort of slugfest, I think Philly stands a very good chance of winning. And at least covering 3 points
Tennessee @ New England (-13)
Honestly, if Tennessee even manages to cover this spread, I'll be very dismayed heading into the AFC title game. The Patriots are getting back key players on both offense and defense, and the Titans are legitimately a bad team. Playoff Tom is here, unfortunately, so you can chalk up at least one awful interception. Hopefully he gets it out early
Jacksonville @ Pittsburgh(-7)
As much as I want Jacksonville to win, I just don't see it happening. The defense would have to play out of its mind at each level for the Jags to have any shot. Granted, while this is possible, it just doesn't seem likely given the talent they're going up against. As for Blake Bortles, just... please exit my life. The Jags with a real QB would probably win the AFC handily this year
New Orleans (+5) @ Minnesota
This game will certainly be entertaining. While Minnesota definitely has a better chance to win, 5 points is too many for a team that is QB'd by Case Keenum. Also, I can't believe Drew Brees is 39. He carried the offensive load last week, and I won't bet against him doing the same thing again
