That Jags defense is downright terrifying. Also Bortles has looked like a real QB the past month-ish. Jaguars are gonna make noise come January
-
Oh I know. But it all starts with my homie Marv

I hope too. Because it seems like every time the Ravens make the playoffs, the Steelers have to face them. We get enough of them in the main season, seriously. Go away! >_<
Buuut... I can forgive them if they do us a favor and kick the Pats' butts first...
Luckily I can bank on the Jags and Steelers taking each other out
-
Fucc the Ravens. That's a team I'm not trying to see in the playoffs. I wonder if Marv can do me a solid and beat them next week
-
you can say Burfict "had it coming" all you want, the fact is, celebrating an injury in the same game Shazier likely ended his career is sort of unbelievable to me
-
To be honest I didn't know Marv was pulling the GM/Coach combination bullshit. That alone gives him a lot more credit in my book. You're right, he's survived two eras and had some quality talent on his squads throughout the years. Seems like Marv the GM is more effective than Marv the coach.
Burfict is definitely the one of the dirtiest players of all-time, but he's very talented, too. I'd argue he's a top 8 all-around LB... not to mention, he's 27. It seems like the dude has been in the league at least 8 years
-
You're right, he isn't a joke. My mind will just be permanently married to the idea that Marv is a joke. Something about his face and the idea of 7 trips to the playoffs with 0 victories. This isn't me going off on a soapbox and ignoring what you're saying, because you're right. Marv Lewis is a richer-than-poor man's Jeff Fisher
-
I appreciate the knowledge you provide on the Marv front. However, I will always see him as a joke, and there really isn't any changing that. Sure, while he isn't solely responsible for his "perfect" playoff record, Marv-led teams are among the most undisciplined in the league and simply cannot handle adversity. I have no idea what that man has done to keep his job for so long (also, I find it hard to give him a point for "not fucking up a defense with generational talent")
-
I love the consistent dysfunction that Marv brings. This nonsense with the report that this is his last year, then him saying the report isn't true, is hilarious. The bengals will be screwed forever as long as they employ that joke
-
To clarify my earlier comments, I think the call was correct as far as the rule goes. I disagree with the rules and believe it should've been a catch, but then again I thought Dez Caught It, which he allegedly didn't, so clearly I know nothing.
A victory is a victory, though, and going from the #3 seed to the #1 seed was huge. The Patriots are remarkably banged up this year, and missing that bye week in the playoffs would be a massive blow to their Super Bowl chances.
That being said, I don't think next week's game against Buffalo is a gimme. Our defense has looked like hot garbage with Van Noy out so it could see Tyrod/McCoy carving up the front 7 with ease
-
Yeah, that was complete horseshit. Stuff like this makes the NFL look bad. They think people stop watching because of anthem protests when even longtime fans can't tell you what constitutes a catch. It's embarrassing, frankly.
Don't cry, Ana. The Steelers proved they can beat the Patriots. They played most of that game without the best WR in the NFL.
-
Wow. That's gotta be the worst possible way to lose a game
EDIT: I still mean this statement, it it now applies to the Steelers
-
Looks like the Patriots need a defensive stop to have a chance at winning this game. I like the Steelers' chances at this point. Fuq this game
-
Yeah, you're right. It could be just precautionary, but at this point who knows
-
From what I've seen so far, it's the type of injury that looks worse than it is. He shouldn't need more than a few weeks rest, if that much.
of course, if the Patriots can't win while AB misses more than half the game, I'll officially be scared
-
Hopefully it's nothing serious. Bryant is killing Gilmore right now. It's quite unfortunate
-
Yeah, you're right. I actually listened to Patriots talk radio all week and they said the gameplan was to injure the Steelers offense as much as possible. Doesn't look like it's working so far...
-
I wouldn't accuse the other team of intentionally injuring Gronk or Brady if either of them was injured. Please stop being ridiculous
-
Oh yeah, I'm sure the Patriots intentionally caused all those injuries. It's still a tie game, anyway, so what are you freaking out about?
-
I had my doubts about this matchup before I realized how injured the Patriots were. Missing 3 key starters in the front 7 is going to hurt big time, especially when attempting to stop LeVeon Bell. I think the Patriots will devote most of the defensive attention to Antonio Brown and let Bell run wild between the 20's. He might pile up 200 yards but I expect more of the same boring defense that prevents the big play and aims to allow field goals only.
Of course, the Steelers have the talent to rip off many big plays. We shall see
-
Nah, I wish they played in Boston. Would make getting to games a hell of a lot easier for me. They play in Foxboro, Mass.
recently the patriots haven't been unbeatable at home. They lost their first 2 out of their first 3 home games (and should've lost all 3) the crowd certainly isn't competing for world records, but it isn't really a factor, either.
-
The Patriots play in Foxboro. And honestly, in a vacuum, I don't think it's all that tough of a place to play for visiting teams
-
Yes, when determining 3 way ties they use combined win percentage against the other teams first
-
I mean, I posted the link to the NFL's official tiebreakers page, so you can find out for yourself pretty easily. Either way, you don't need to apologize. I'm pretty sure you're the only one in this thread who doesn't know that head-to-head matchup is the first tiebreaker when determining playoff seeding.

I have a really bad feeling about this game against the Bills today. Brady looks shaky on his first throw and Bills are converting 3rd downs at will
