      Keep this in mind: bad things in life will only affect you as badly as you let them. Or if it's a self confidence issue, sometimes you yourself have to boost up your confidence and self esteem. I learned you can't always rely on others for that. Just remember all the good you've done for others (even here on SF), recall the purity of your intentions, and remind yourself how good of a person you really are.
