  1. Once you realise the game was made harder too, the game becomes notoriously hard. And not in a fun way. As in "Everything has capped stats in Normal Mode" hard.

I wish that anime didn't have so much "fanservice" in it.

Granted! But now, the animation itself becomes extremely dull and lifeless, making it unbearable to watch for anyone!

I wish that Fire Emblem Warriors would not have only characters from the 3DS games

  2. The Super Axe Brothers got a 4.63/10 (Johan) and a 3.53/10 (Johalva). That is a big fall, considering that they are still related to Lex in some way...

Now that we are done with Chapter 6, its time to move on with the first fixed unit in Chapter 7, which I decided to be Shanan! :D

    Class: Swordmaster (Level 12)
    Holy Blood: Major Odo
    Personal Skills: Astra

    Class Skills: Continue, Pursuit
    Stats:
    38 HP (120%)
    18 Strength (30%)
    0 Magic (5%)
    22 Skill (80%)
    23 Speed (30%)
    13 Defense (40%)
    4 Resistance (5%)
    10 Luck (20%)

My thoughts: If he wasn't a special case, he would've been the weakest of the Odo swordfighters trio: While his bases are really good, his growth rates (except in HP and Skill) are pretty bad for G2 standards, which would've been quite detrimential to his performance. And while his skillset is very good on its own, especially if he's in a sub run, Larcei and Ulster will most likely have more than that as a bonus (Elite, Critical, etc.) which makes it suddenly not as impressive, even with the god-blessed Astra. All of that, plus the fact that he's a foot unit, would've made him useful in the beginning, but made him fall quite hard afterwards.

But then, why am I so conditional? Well, Shanan's a special case. Sure, he's the weakest of the Odo trio, but he's got a special weapon on him, both figuratively and literally: the holy BALMUNG.

Sure, when you look at it, it's basically just a 1-range and physical version of Holsety, but its still a 30-might weapon that gives you 10 Skill (useful for Astra!) and 20 Speed (useful for Continue!), and THAT what makes him carry through the whole game without much difficulties despite everything mentionned above. He's now an efficient bosskiller and enemy-phase soloer, and probably even more! Really, I don't have much to say...
I'll still give him ''only'' a 8.5/10, despite him being a bro to Seliph, because he still has problems stat-wise, but it barely even matters with the Balmung in hand...

  3. There are a few exceptions to this ((mostly for bosses but there are a couple of them for what in-game appear to be generics for some reason)) but those are all located in one of the other editors. I can't remember if it's in the character editor folder or the enemy editor folder.

Yeah the big bosses with holy blood (like Eltshan, Ishtar, etc) have their own seperate editor where you can edit pretty much everything about them, leadership stars, stats, skills, etc.

I was also wondering why I couldn't find Alvis in the enemy editor. Now I know why :P

Thank you once again to you both! ^^

  4. I'm fairly certain enemies just use the Class growth rates, which i'm pretty sure are on site. You can just edit them in nightmare.

It was that simple? Wow, I thought they were no ways of editing it in Nightmare, and then, I double-checked my modules, and bam...

    Thanks for the help! ^^

  5. @OliKad

I'd like to change my rating for Julia from 4 -> 3.

Johalva gets a 2 from me. He's actually better in ranked runs than Johan because he can avoid Swiordfighters in the arenas by switching to Bows. I'm not taking that into consideration though, arena performance is just for self-improvement and doesn't affect a unit's rating for me. He can take on a few enemy units in the early stages of a chapter, like Hannibal's squad but he won't be doing a whole lot regardless.

Johan gets a 3 including -0.5 points of negative bias for being annoying to recruit when you play through the game in a non-casual fashion. It's easier to just kill Johan and recruit Johalva, which honestly happens more often than not for me. If Johan were actually a good unit it'd be a different matter but he doesn't do enough to actually justify recruiting him for me. If you do recruit him you might be able to make use of him as an auxiliary unit.

That wouldn't even help them all that much - enemy units will just stop attacking them because of the defensive bonuses they get from the Swanchika. So for the most part it'd nullify their enemy phase performance and only slightly improve their player phase :/

    Done! :)

I don't think that the Hellswath would nullify their enemy phase, because while they do get a +10 bonus in Resistance, it's still not enough against mages, so they will attack Johan/Johalva if they can reach them, and since this axe has 30 might and 1-2 range, well, they,ll suddenly become quite competent mage killers! ^^

  6. Kawaii Final Boss eraser got a rating of 4,91/10 according to 18 users! Guess availability and starting equipment really does matter in this game :P

Because I am the master of this show/trainwreck, I decided that we shall do a double feature today! Can you guess which people it's gonna be?

    JOHAN

    Class: Axe Knight (Level 12)
    Holy Blood: Minor Neir
    Personal Skills: Ambush

    Class Skills: None
    Stats:
    40 HP (110%)
    15 Strength (40%)
    0 Magic (5%)
    10 Skill (20%)
    12 Speed (50%)
    12 Defense (60%)
    1 Resistance (5%)
    5 Luck (10%)

My thoughts: Johan is such a cool character, solely for the way he talks! Sadly, I can't say the same for his stats and skills...
He joins your party at Level 12, which is sort of like a poisoned gift, because you won't immediatly notice that he's quite mediocre. Sure, it's an automatic plus that he's mounted, but as Anime Charles Bronson CappnRob pointed out, he's basically just Discount Lex. Well, this thankfully means that his Power and Defense are still great, and so are his Hit Points, and for an Axe Knight, he's not really that slow. But MAN, THAT SKILL. It's awful, just awful. It means that despite his positive assets, it's gonna be very likely that he'll lead you to frustrating misses, so that kinda sucks. However, even with his actually pretty decent stats, its really his skillset that ruins him. Remember when we all said that Paragon is what made Lex definitively good? Welp, Johan doesn't have it. Owch. And that's also where you realize that his high Speed barely matters, since he does not have any multi-attack skills, and that really sucks :/ Also, Vantage, I guess...
Still, despite that, he still got access to the super cool Brave Axe and still has a horse, so Johan will perform quite decently in certain situations, but he's certainly one of your weaker units in the game. I,ll give him a 5.5/10 while being generous...

    JOHALVA

    Class: Axe Fighter (Level 12)

    Holy Blood: Minor Neir
    Personal Skills: Charge

    Class Skills: None
    Stats:
    42 HP (110%)
    16 Strength (40%)
    0 Magic (0%)
    7 Skill (50%)
    16 Speed (10%)
    14 Defense (60%)
    1 Resistance (5%)
    5 Luck (10%)

My thoughts: THAT SPEED GROWTH SUUUUCKS *ahem* Anyway, Johalva is a much less interesting character, but let's look at him as a unit...
He also joins as a Level 12 unit, but with better stats almost all around compared to his brother, except for his Skill. But his growth in that area is perfectly fine, so no worries. Speaking of, his growths are mostly kinda lame for Gen 2 standards, but perfectly fine on their own, with good Defense, HP and Skill, too! Except for one thing: his GOD. AWFUL. SPEED GROWTH. Yes, his base Speed is good enough, but that's not a reason for having only 10% in Gen 2. It' just not good at all! Especially since, unlike his brother, he has a Skill that allows multiple attacks. Sure, it's Charge, the worst of the bunch, but it's still a Speed-based Skill, and that kinda screws him over.
To further hurt his usefulness, he still has the endless curse of being a foot unit. However, as a tradeoff, Johalva is still the only playable Axe Fighter in the game, so he does have his niche there. Said niche is also his promotion to a Warrior, which grants him solid bonuses and the niche access to bows, which does make Charge a bit more useful when it does proc, but when you have the Brave Axe, bows will not matter that much anymore...
Now, for the big question: which one of these two do I pick, personally? Well, I think that while both are pretty mediocre but still useful, I'd rather pick the one that is on a horse, so my vote goes to Johan. Which means that Johalva will get my rating of 5/10.

  7. Edit: On the issue of Johan and Johalva, I honestly like Johalva more. He isn't mounted, but his bases compensate for his defencies better (Johan has bad skill, Johalva has bad speed, but Johan has a bad skill base Johalva has a great speed base). He might be footlocked but as I keep saying infantry has its place in FE4. Once he promotes he gets bows so you can drop the brave bow and brave axe on him and hell probably the pursuit ring too if noone else is using it and wham have at it. Johalva does offer something new in that regard where as Johan sadly is just Discount Lex. I really don't know why they did that... at least both brothers have fun personalities. I wish you could recruit them both tbh :V

Keep it for later today ;)

  8. Even if you decide to recruit Johan, it's still possible to get Nosferatu. Just wait until the axe knight brigade captures Isaac, and then recapture Isaac, give Nosferatu to Julia, and then capture Sophara. Although I suppose it's easy to miss if you don't know what you're doing.

Yep, pretty much. Even though it's the ultimate anti-LTC way, that's what I did 2 times out of 3, just so I had a mediocre mounted unit instead of a mediocre foot unit...

  9. if you get resire her accuracy leaves something to be desired so tanking with it isn't always the safest, but it's nice being able to have a unit ORKO the armours in chapter 7, She's basically useless in chapter 6 and chapter 8 though, then she's gone by chapter 10. She show up to goon the final boss. I'll give her a 3/10 for being slightly more useful than Deirdre, but still not that useful overall.

The armor knight group in Chapter 8 can be trivialized with her and Nosferatu. I did it myself and it works like a charm ^^

  10. Badass McMustache Paladin of awesome (that was cheesy...) got a rating of 7.65/10 after 17 votes! I have nothing else to say...

It's now time for the third fixed character out of the five that comes in this chapter. I'm of course talking about the eleventh hour final boss nuke, Julia!

    Class: Shaman (Level 1)
Holy Blood: Major Naga, Minor Fala
    Personal Skills: Pursuit, Continue, Nihil

    Class Skills: None
    Stats:
    24 HP (95%)
    0 Strength (10%)
    11 Magic (100%)
    8 Skill (20%)
    11 Speed (30%)
    3 Defense (10%)
    14 Resistance (50%)
    5 Luck (30%)

My thoughts: She plays the exact role as Seliph in my eyes: being like their parents, but with a twist. That's fitting, since they are siblings after all :P
Anyway, Julia is basically Deirdre, but... well, less horrible. For starters, she has much more availabity, being here for s big part of Chapter 6 and the 3 chapters afterwards. Also, unlike her mother, she can access a much better tome than Aura, the Nosferatu. Not only is it lighter, it also doesn't have that much less might, can give your HP back and, most imprtantly, negates the ever so annoying Great Shield skill! It really is a great tome, and one that she'll proudly use whenever she'll reach combat. And, for the third reason, she has slightly better combat abilities than her mother, being a bit faster, having more Magic, and slightly more defensive powers, so there's at least that. Also, let's not forget her AMAZING promotion bonuses, which includes +5 Skill, +7 Magic and +8 Speed! How can I say no to that?
Although she IS much better than Deirdre, Julia still has some of the flaws of her. While it's not as much of a problem here, the Nosferatu is still relavively heavy, so despite her higher Speed, she'll still have trouble to double swords users and maybe some lance users. And she's still a 5-movement foot-unit, which makes using her a bit tricky. However, there's still staves for her to spam in order to gain EXP easily, and well, she'll need those EXP...
...because a very specific event will make her unusable for Chapter 10 and pretty much 85% of the Final Chapter. However, at the end of it, she'll rejoin you with two new things: her mother's Circlet (which grants Renewal and Prayer) and the BEST WEAPON IN THE GAME or maybe in the series in term of stats, the Book of Naga. 30 Might, gives +20 to Skill, Speed, Defense and Resistance AND negates the nastly Loptyr effect of Julius? Yes, please. So essentially, she brings with her the only fast and easy way of beating the final boss, which is VERY appreciated! ^^

So yeah, Julia is still pretty flawed, but she IS much more important than Deirdre, so I'll give her a 7.5/10, just because she can easily defeat Julius. Besides, I found her to be very pretty :3

  11. G1 Oifey for best squire 100/10 underappreciated character of the game.

Actually, Oifey and child Shanan both show up on the map at the end of Chapter 5 where they flee to Issach, do they have any dummy stat sheets for that? I'm curious now...

Hey, you did changed your profile pic after all! Nice! ^^

But no, they don't have any stats for Gen 1, they're just map sprites, and that's it.

  12. Our boi R- oh wait, wrong lord. *ahem* Our lord Seliph kicked off the 2nd gen with a still very impressive rating of 9.36/10 after 18 votes, that is probably explained by his unpromoted beginning. But he's still awesome. :3

Now, for our second ''fixed'' character, it's time for the one that was badass enough to start his won archetype - and was looking cool doing it - the one and only Oifey!

    Class: Paladin (Level 15)
    Holy Blood: None
    Personal Skills: Pursuit, Critical

    Class Skills: None
    Stats:
    40 HP (100%)
    16 Strength (40%)
    9 Magic (5%)
    17 Skill (50%)
    16 Speed (30%)
    17 Defense (30%)
    8 Resistance (10%)
    8 Luck (40%)

My thoughts: Like I said, Oifey was the first badass who started his archetype of the same name: the prepromotes who act like crutch characters at the start, but have good enough bases and growth rates to stay relevant through the whole adventure. And, well, that's way Oifey is! He joins with good enough bases stats and solid growths all-around (except subpar Res, but that's to be expected), probably the best starting equipment you could give him for his role (Armorslayer and Javelin), which makes him perfect for getting rid of those annoying bow armors and doing distant damage to tougher enemies. Thanks to said growth rates, his very good skillset of Pursuit/Critical and the sole fact of being a Paladin, this guy will most likely still be competent when he others will catch up to him, especially if you give lots of weapons (including Magic Swords and effective weapons). But, the sad thing is that he'll be far outclassed in a no-sub run, because of their better stats and avalanche of skills, so that's kind of sad.
Still, I do really like him, both as a unit and as a character and his mustache really helps, too! so for filling his role perfectly and still being good enough at the end of Julius's reign, I'll give Oifey a 8/10, especially for his utility in a substitute run. I can sense it even if I never did one. :P

  13. The Skinship they added to Fates to only remove it from US. I don't see the point in skinship. I don't need weebotaku pandering waifu stuff in my SRPGs. At the same time, why remove something you put in?

The Gen 2 units in Fates. Genealogy made sense due to being 17 years later, Awakening got a pass from me because time travel. Fates just has you jerk off in a jar of pickled eggs and throw it in a hyperbolic time chamber, set to bake at 350 degrees for a half hour, grab the pod baby, and conscript them. It came off as a lazy attempt to market off of Awakening's Gen 2 success.

The FE 9/10 voice acting, especially Mist. "Ike look, up there!" Was that really the best take?

Most of the unit's looks in Awakening and the lack of them changing color to match the unit. I don't like seeing Gregor as a Hero dress in blue when he wears a light green as a Merc.

Lack of backstory or lore for the countries and continents in both Fates and Awakening. Awakening was better than Fates when it came to it's lore, but it came off as a quick sentence instead of the paragraphs or conversations between units that we use to get. Fates is like The Room where things happen and you have to accept they did and move on. Even funnier realizing Iago looks like Tommy Wiseau. Oh hai Corrin.

I've heard that there was fan backlash to Thracia 776 making Fury/Lewyn cannon, I just think that it was only the Holsety!Arthur people wanted to have Holsety on wheels in Thracia 776.

Beautiful! ^^ (Can I add this to my profile description?)

Besides that, I sort of have a mixed opinion about child units in Fates. Yes, on one hand, its excuse for the concept being brought back is completely stupid and doesn't make any sense either (and was also explained in just 15 seconds, which is very lazy). But, at the same time, I'm glad that the child units aren't as devastatingly strong as in FE13, because unlike in Awakening, that doesn't make the first gen units completely obsolete. If you compare the stats of parents and kids in FE13, you'll notice that the kids will outclass their parents in every way possible, thanks to their ABSURD base stats. Thankfully, those are heavily nerfed in Fates, so they aren't as broken as in Awakening, which probably why the game is a bit harder - at least, I think it's harder -.
