1. Right in the childhood. I was 14 years old playing Brave Fencer Musashi. I was just finished congratulating myself for completing the steam-puzzle-tower-thing, and realized I was late for a date. Adding my own favorites to this list? Man.. so many to choose from. Megalovania and Dancing Mad are both undoubtedly on this list somewhere, so I'll skip those in favor of another game that ate hundreds of hours of my life. Crypt of the Necrodancer, a rhythm-themed turn-based roguelike with simple rules. Endlessly fun, and the soundtrack is just stellar.
2. Kaden's adorable (My husbando this run). Fox > wolf. I hate Velouria. Easiest vote I've ever had to make :3
3. In terms of difficulty, Conquest was a 9, Birthright was a 1, and Revelation was a 2. Both of the latter weren't very difficult, but I did enjoy Revelation much more than Birthright.
4. +DEF/-SKL, +DEF/-LCK, +DEF/-SPD are the ones I'd pick. -LCK will tap your damage, and get you another luck statue. -SPD is good for a Knight talent. Wary Fighter is awesome on units that can't get a second hit. I'd avoid +MAG, as you won't get two hits, meaning each point is only half as effective as it would be in nearly every other situation. +RES is fine, if you really really like RES more than DEF, but remember, +DEF also improves your RES stat.
5. Hinokopter's doable. All three units have massive speed, and Azama comes with a physic (Wane Festal). Only drawback is that your only source of magic damage is Hinoka's 12 MAG Bolt Lance, forcing you to save a dragon vein for Effie.
6. Haven't done Leo yet, but Elise is markedly easier than Xander and Camilla.
7. Elise was super easy. Effie is OP and physic staff. Camilla I did six or seven times before giving up on. Halfway through Xander now, and I think I got it in the bag.
8. Chapter 17, conquest/hard, the labyrinth of caltrops. After carefully distributing exp to my weaker units, made difficult by the omnipresence of 2-range units, collecting the chests, evading a 28% chance to kill Nina (Don't care of it's low. Still scary), and Midori-ing a handful of gold bars from profiteer, I'm finally at the boss chamber. "How can I possibly take advantage of this?" I ask myself. "I could probably give the killing blow to a weaker unit and diversify my ranks!" I respond to myself. "Stop talking to yourself! People will think you're crazy!" My sister shouts. "Mind your own business!" I snap back. "I wasn't talking to you!" She responds. The room's set up such that you cannot clear the caltrops without standing in range of the boss, and the three units inside the room won't come out. Well, I have a singer for that! Aren't I clever!? Nina goes in. Nina clears the trap. Azura sings her out. Midori and MU run in to clear the left samurai, leaving only the boss and the right samurai alive, with all my units out of range, and Midori/MU blocking the entrance. "Pff. Easy." I end turn. The right samurai says, "Oh. we have guests!" and decides it's time to get off his couch. Whatever. I can handle a couple hits. He moves one panel south of the boss. He targets Azura. The singer I used to get Nina out of there. "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SNAP!" "It should be fine, right? She's like level 30, and both units would have to connect at 51% and 46% to kill her! That's like 23%! I should be TOTES fine!" *hurk* *reset* *DS hurled across room* *rageface* *Find DS and apologize* *fumefume* This would have been totally preventable if I just paired Azura up with someone before going in in the first place. Stupid mistakes OP.
9. Rally Spectrum is a skill from the Grandmaster class, which is not obtainable in the main game. As such, you cannot purchase it. Same goes for Galeforce, Warp, and Rally Movement.
10. Finding patterns in things, optimizing things, referential functions, and statistics. http://imgur.com/RVdE4ZG This one was my brainchild. All ten pages in that workbook are loaded down with numbers and formulas like the one in view. I was developing an intensely customizable game where you could develop a mech unit from scratch (Armored Core meets Front Mission), and build a pilot from scratch as well, using an allotment of points. We had some steam going for this one for a bit, but the person I had in charge of programming may have fudged on his resume a little bit, and he seemed more interested in "helping" me "fix" the game mechanics than actually coming up with a working alpha. Last modified: Sat, September 26, 2009. I don't think I'll ever finish this, but I don't have the heart to delete it, either. But I digress. I do excel sheets like this for damn near everything that could possibly call for one. -A hit/miss page for Fire Emblem Fates, which I posted the results of in the regression project. -A success/fail/results ratio page for intensifying elixirs used in Silkroad Online (A game I strongly recommend against) -A results sheet for the ship battling minigame in Mugen Souls, which turned out to be much more helpful than I thought it would. -Statistics for Kingdom of Loathing, which helped me get some relatively speedy runs. -A fifteen page workbook for Fire Emblem Tactics Online I updated religiously while I played. ...And those are only the ones I remember off the top of my head.
11. There is no "have to". But with Kaze's +2 skl/+3 spd, you have a few options. 1. cover his -2 str with a +str MU. Else, midori will be abusing Flame Shuriken and shining bow her whole life. 2. Ignore the str penalty and use +mag with to make a speedy/skl-y mage. (-0 mag), see above flame shuriken midori. 3. Amplify his spd by passing a +spd MU to midori/kana for +8 spd cap. kekeke. Double ALL THE THINGS. 4. Amplify his skl by passing a +skl MU to Midori/Kana for +7 skl cap. Yo dawg, I herd u liek proc'ing Astra.
12. As a female, you can marry anyone and still have access to every child unit.
13. I managed to snag Mint on FEPlanet, and people referred to me by that name no matter how many name changes I went through. ..Or are you referring to my real-life, boring, un-special name that doesn't even have an alternative spelling, like all the Rylies, Coltons, Gennyfirs, Taryns, and Raycheals of the world?
14. Any boon (except +LCK) works. Any bane (except -SPD) works. If you don't want to miss kids playing as a male, you're forced to marry either a Corrinsexual (Unit that has no S-rank outside of avatar) or a child (second-gen unit)

hi!

Lunatic hardcore elitist here. I speak for every elitist ever when I say, "Welcome! We love you!" ..And not because it gives us validation for our own existence, either! Srsly, though. Welcome to the cool kids' club.
16. It would have to be +str. I noticed a distinct lack of damage on my ninja run. That said, I'm currently enjoying my Revelation run. I used +DEF in Awakening, so I'll probably try +DEF/-SPD/Knight in my next run.
17. I was helping the root admin with balancing and the like, but he accepted a few too many helpers' input. He eventually became overwhelmed. This, in addition to GPX+ generating significant income, and outside games like Left 4 Dead 2, brought on a period of the site being ignored, which eventually led to him just ditching the site. He left it in the hands of people I personally disliked. So, the root admin I liked left, some of my favorite people left, and the people in charge are people I personally dislike. This was a recipe for disaster. Sad thing, too. This was the closest thing to a balanced Fire Emblem online experience I've seen. Yeah. As mentioned above, I don't have a negative opinion of Sacred Stones. Cute is power, and L'Arachel has the power. <3 <3
18. Finished birthright. I just hated it. "Imma ditch the family I've been with my whole life because that's what the people viewing would do!" was bad, but seriously. The pointless deaths and plot twists turned me off.
19. Of course. Rhapsody is to Fire Emblem as Go-Fish is to Chess. I did not enjoy Rhapsody because it challenged my intellect and forced me to think "How am I going to beat this boss?"; I enjoyed it because Cornet was a fourteen year old girl enlisting an army of puppets in order to save a prince she had the hots for. A hilarious reversal of the typical knight-princess-knave archetype. Undertale had this going on, too. Sans is awesome. Megalovania is SUPER awesome. I enjoy very few games that are difficult for the sake of being difficult. I beat "I Wanna Be the Guy", and broke the SDA record for Mega Man 3 speed run, but I enjoy the cute factor much more than anything else.
20. I like the idea of having the kids in the game, but it feels really tropey. Despite the rest of this post, I really enjoy the concept of generating more units for your army in this fashion. Dragon Quest V was one of my favorite games, as it was the first in which my whole party was husband, wife, and the kids. I'll accept that FE has turned into a fanfiction/visual novel/dating simulator/SRPG Conception, but I would really prefer if the way it was implemented was more sound. In Phantasy Star III, the characters got hitched, had a kid, and the kid was played for the second act of the game. In Fates, it was the hyperbolic time chamber. Sure, they had to find a way to shoehorn 'em in, I guess, but it's intensely unbelievable. Not in the "Oh, a poptart baby is fine, but a Deus Ex Machinegun is not?" way, but rather, in the "wouldn't you want to be with your child and see him/her grow up? You really just dumped him off on a nanny and somehow they have unfaltering love for the parent that's seen them.. what? Four times in 14 years?" way. If we're to believe that Corrin would ever select Nohr over Hoshido, due to the feelings he has for his family that is not related by blood, how could you expect the child units, every single one without fail, to ditch the family that raised them when biological-dad comes back and says, "Time to come with me, sweetie."?
21. Bookmark this thread. In six years, it's gonna be a collector's item. Online name: Mint Real name: Bridget DoB: 1983 Favourite FE Game: Blazing Sword. Tossup between this and Sacred Stones. I don't care much about the "zomg difficulty" or low turncount runs or anything like that, even though I *do* enjoy self-imposed challenges, such as my megaman 3 speed run, Lunatic+ In awakening, Hardcore Terraria, or Nightmare difficulty in Doom II. My favorite anything depends almost wholly on how much I like the cast. In this case, it was Florina vs L'Arachel. Favourite Game (other than FE): Phantom Brave. Marona is HNNNNGGGG! Or perhaps Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure? Cornet is adorable. La Pucelle: Tactics is great, too. (Noticing a trend?) Favourite FE Character: Florina Least Favourite game: DOTA, anything by Compile Heart, Hyperdimension Neptunia Sports: Well, I *teach* gymnastics and ballet, but I never did either, myself. Online friends: Good one. Favourite music: Peppy J-Pop, Classical, Baroque, Video game remixes Favourite artist/band: Hatsune Miku, IOSYS, Antonio Vivaldi Favourite song: Viva Happy! Country: Murica MSN/Yahoo/AIM: Can't even remember. Hobbies: Video games, number porn, making excel spreadsheets for games as I play them Good Point: I will never lie to you. I will know something is true before telling you it's true. Bad Point: Exceedingly weak to cute things. I will give games/movies/etc. more of a chance to redeem itself if the characters are cute. I will ignore/mute/block people without telling them if they do/say something that shows they have no intention of being my friend. Anything else? Played FETO (Fire Emblem Tactics Online) in FEPlanet.net, and wasn't too shabby at it.
22. The levels seem like they just threw darts and hoped for the best. Specifically, Elise's join stage. Level 7? That's just rude. Fortunately, the stages are much easier than conquest's, with the tradeoff of being significantly more time consuming in order to complete safely/distribute exp effectively. For example, that ice stage where you meet up with Zola. Is is even possible to lose that stage? I took six lagging units, and found out Hana was blessed, giving me a great unit for later use.
23. In my Hard/Conquest run, I went with Mage, +DEF/-STR. I thought it was going to be like Awakening, where I started out able to use swords and tomes. Didn't even find out about heart seals until after chapter 10. Lolwhoops. In Lunatic/Conquest, I went with Nina, +SPD/-SKL. Ninjas suck. Will not be doing that again. Can't remember what I did for birthright. I plowed through that story in a couple hours. No regret, either, because seriously. I hated that story. Presently in Revelation/Lunatic. +SPD/-SKL, married Kaden (-4 SKL, +7 SPD on Selkie/Kana. kekeke), and swordmaster for vantage.
24. I can brute a couple hundred more. Is 75 the only anomaly, or is there a range I can look for (such as 75-79)? Finding castles with exact hit rates is a chore.
25. You look like you're way more into this than I am. I'll post my stuff here. Do what you can with it. All data is gathered by hand in online MyCastle battles. Low stat units with a collection of weapons with varying hit rates and Gamble/Certain Blow allows me to get a wide variety of hit rates while dealing zero damage. Some of the top ranked (BP) maps have castles perfect for testing, including the one titled "Grind", and the one that has all 24 resource points. All tests done from player side, NOT enemy side. -- Charlotte + Frying Pan + Certain Blow 94% hit rate displayed. 99.34% with Average 2RN (True Hit). 272/274 hit. 99.27%. One eighth of the misses expected from 1RN Silas + Bottle 82% hit rate displayed. 93.7% with Average 2RN (True Hit). 184/200 hit. 92% Half the misses expected from 1RN. (expected 36, actual 16) About what was expected for True Hit. (expected 13, actual 16) 67% hit rate displayed. 78.55% with Average 2RN (True Hit). 171/200 hit. 85.5%. 44% of the misses expected from 1RN (expected: 66, actual 29) 67% the misses expected from True Hit (expected: 43, actual 29) **Anomaly/Luck? Test a 60%, 50% later. Kana + Dragonstone 23% hit rate displayed. 10.81% with Average 2RN (True Hit). 36/170 hit. 21.17% (Go figure, dragon fang procs on a unit with 11 skill during 3 of the hits) 92% of the hits expected from 1RN Twice as many hits as expected for True Hit. Silas + Raider Naginata 9% hit rate displayed. 1.71% with Average 2RN (True Hit). 15/200 hit. 7.5% 83% of the hits expected from 1RN. Five times as many hits as expected from True Hit -- new -- Beruka with Frying Pan, Jakob support 49% hit rate displayed. 48.51% with Average 2RN (True Hit) 104/200 hit. 52% 107% of the expected hits from 2RN. 106% of the expected hits from 1RN. Right in line with both 1RN and 2RN. This should help rule out some new system that either benefits the player, enemy, or simply increases hit rate overall. -- Jakob with Steel Dagger, Beruka support (Instantly regret this, due to debuff animation appearing every combat) 63% hit rate displayed. 72.99% with Average 2 RN (True Hit) 141/200 hit. 70.5% 109% of the expected misses from 2RN. 79% of the expected misses from 1RN. -- Beruka with Hand Axe + Jakob Support 36% hit rate displayed. 26.28% with average 2RN (True Hit) 70/200 hit. 35% 97% of the expected hits from 1RN. 133% of the expected hits from 2RN -- All performed by player. (based on previous assumption that it was either Average 2RN or 1RN. Not taking 3A+B into account) 94% - Definitely True Hit 82% - Very likely True Hit 67% - Anomaly. Higher than True Hit. Much higher than 1RN 63% - Likely True Hit 49% - In line with both 1RN and True Hit 35% - Very likely 1RN 23% - Very likely 1RN 9% - Definitely 1RN Needs testing: -Does the enemy get this same treatment? Theory: 2RN is used for all hit rates over 50%. 1RN is used for all hit rates under 50%.
