  1. ¬¬ no... I don't like dismount because I never have a Lancer user when I need (yes I hate using armored units =_=')

They could improve it by making the dismounted character revert to the weapon with the highest skill level.

  2. I hardly think it'd be a reuse, considering few other mugs were, if any. That, and that green-haired pink-clothed woman also appeared in the two games, if memory serves.

There were alot of portrait reuses in the famicom Fire Emblems so its hard to tell. Wasn't Zeke was in a relationship with a woman called Teeta rather then Niena.

  3. If it helps they brought out The Complete artbook with art of the fe2 charries though the art isn't the best. It would be awesome to get a remake/translation somewhere, even if only on the VC or something.

There were some gaiden characters left out however.

  4. It's going to suck if they pass up a remake of Gaiden as well--I liked that game, and the Chinese remake included a few weird features including criticals upon a button :[

They could have a remake of Gaiden in Shin Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Ken if they don't include the second book. It would be awesome if a gaiden character made a playable in the remake of FE1, then they'd be even with Paola, Est, and Katua.

  5. It's almost a given they will, if only because much of the series in infancy had, quite honestly, some of the most basic and weirdest art styles around, especially compared to their more modern arts.

The Card game art is pretty high quality but I agree with you on the manual art.

  6. If Gameplay > Art, then Marth's shield would have to do something. Having Marth have a shield increases the strength of an already powerful character by letting him block projectiles. And if the arguement of 'the shield doesn't have to block projectiles' shows up again lemme point at the "Gameplay > Art" statement.

The only way to put the Shield in would be as a taunt, which if they did would get you to ask why it wasn't constantly on his person, and the others to ask why they Ganondorf'd his shield. There is no winning with anyone.

He'd use in his blocking animation just not to block arrows, like Link in Smash bros 64 and as I said it would power up the Falchion in his attack animations. Besides even if it did block arrows its not like thats a game breaking ability.

If you don't believe about the shield being important watch this.

  7. Gameplay>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>art

Marth has the Fire Emblem shield throughout the whole nes game, and get its after beating the second map in Fire Emblem 3 book 2.

People who play Fire Emblem DS will start wonder why the shield is absent and in the Smash bros Series if it stays absent for the next installment. Honestly why are you so opposed to the shield? Marth looks awesome with the thing, and it really goes with the Falchion. It would be an awesome addition and with no minuses.

  8. His cape is in all his arts, without exception. I think the same is true of Falcon's gun (but I'm not an F-Zero fan). Having a shield on your arm that does nothing is an added piece of coding for nothing. That with it doing nothing doesn't make sense. Shields block things, to have a shield that doesn't block things is like having a sword that doesn't cut. Why bother just to please what, two people, and just tick off everyone else. "Why did they add a Shield to Marth in Brawl, then have it not block any attacks? That's stupid." would be an arguement I'd agree with.

Also, by the way, comments have been made about why does Falcon have a gun he doesn't use. Similar to why Ganondorf has a taunt involving the Sword of Sages.

He'd use in his shield animation just not to block arrows, like Link in Smash bros 64 and as I said it would power up the Falchion in his attack. It would please basically everyone who'd played Fire Emblem 3 as it's an enormous part of the game, and no one except you seems to have a problem with it.

For those who haven't played, heres an example of its importance. MASSIVE SPOILERS

  9. Lord Knight of Barrel Roll: Technically that's the official art of Marth for FE3:Book 2.

You're right, the mechanical nature of FE games does not allow for shields to protect from arrows unless you happen to be a Pegasus rider. However, Brawl isn't Fire Emblem in Brawl they try to have things make sense. Why give Marth a shield that does nothing? You're complaining about an item being missing then wish to add it without it doing anything. The Shield must do something for the game makers to add it in as anything more than a Ganondorf taunt.

His cape does nothing as does Captain Falcon's gun which is always in its holster. They are both still in the game. They could use it in his taunts or add it to an existing move. For example it's power could make the Falchion flash when it strikes.

  10. okay first you just pissed me off bub

second if anyone of those two is from knockoff land is Ike, because Marth came first. In Fire Emblem and Smash, hell Marth might as well be one of the reasons why FE is still around

I don't agree with that logic and I'm well aware Marth came at least 8 years before Ike when Shouzou Kaga still worked for Nintendo.

  11. You know how messed up it'd of been if Marth had a handshield to block projectiles like Link and Toon Link? Ike is also following his FE9 look before promotion yet has Ragnell (which he can only get after promoting to Lord). The primary reason for these changes are to use the best known appearance along with their most powerful weapon. Excluding the Fire Emblem Shield detail his outfit is just his standard outfit with more details.

The Fire Emblem shield didn't protect from arrows in his own series why should it work like that in Smash bros. The game itself mentions in the second half that the Fire Emblem with the Falchion is Marth's most powerful weapon

This is how Marth should have looked in Smash.

  12. Also that would make Marth a similar look to Link (minus the projectiles and stance)

Also the Fire Emblem isn't just the shield and most NA players consider the FE either the heirloom of Bern, or the Medalion of Fe 9, and 10

You could make the same argument that his lack of a shield make him too much like Ike.

  13. Well... if you look at the covers of FE1 and 3, he has the sword without the shield. This also goes for a few pieces of art involving Marth. The Fire Emblem, while in every game, varies in importance as much as Cid and Moogles do in FF series titles. To those that haven't played FE1/3 the shield isn't important.

Is it irony that now I'm going to use the official arts of Marth as explanation as to the emblem used in Melee/Brawl? Look at the cover art of FE3. The only thing close to an Emblem for the game is the Falchion behind the name of the game.

    FE2: Sword and Shield

    FE3: Falchion

FE4: Sword (that looks like Falchion)

    FE5: Family Crest-style Shield

    FE6: Sword of Seals

    FE7: Durandal and Armads

    FE8: Dragoncrest thing

FE9+10: Okay, this time its the Fire Emblem...

Of the 9 games with Emblems behind/with the name, we 5 of them with Weapon Emblems. Technically there is a pair of Swords in the FE5 emblem too, but I'm not counting it.

The Fire Emblem shield not being important, have you played the second half of Fire Emblem 3. Heck the games title screen even shows the Fire Emblem when you start the game. That thing is one of the instrumental parts of the plot. Marth's goal in the game was to complete the Fire Emblem and it was mentioned he couldn't defeat Mediuth without it. At the end it was the Fire Emblem shield that was said to have defeated Mediuth not the Falchion. This is the namesake of the series we're talking about not some random accessory.
