To add to why I like Elise (I was thinking about it and I feel like my previous response did not give enough information.) I think the big two points of why I like her is her loyalty and her childishness. Considering how easy it is for everyone in the story to turn against you if you don't pick them it's nice to have someone who is ok with your decision. I haven't played Revelations so I don't know if she changes in that but in Birthright especially by the end she wants to help you out even if you oppose her father. I respect that loyalty. Furthermore being childish is fun. It makes Elise lots of fun. And fun is good! :D Fair enough. I don't have the most experience with her because of my perceptions of her driving her off. I can only attest to what I've seen in the main game so far. When I get to the point of unlocking more supports with her (that'll be when I relationship grind in Revalations) I'll be able to see more of these depths if they are there. That said what parts of her personality does she want to change? Is it a "I want to be less shy?" type of change?

While I criticize Sakura for her shyness it's not shyness I hate. Personally I'm shy and I can understand the experience of being shy. The problem is when that shyness and that reservedness is used as a tool to make the character bland and use that shyness as either justification or pandering to those who like reserved girls. I don't mind shyness when it's one of many traits that a character has. But when it's the only trait, it gets really annoying.

I like some of the kids characters and I'm fine with the idea of kid characters. Pairing up parents to make a unique kid is fun... That said the implementation of it was weak. The Deeprealms make no sense what-so-ever. Personally I liked the concept and implementation in Awakening but here it just feels forced and illogical. Because I like the mechanic itself I'm not complaining but I'd rather have it be done intelligently instead of like this. Also I'd like to add some of the mechanics of the kids are weird. They force too much onto the kids due to parental choices. It would be nicer if the kids couldn't potentially clash with their flavor text due to their parents. (The biggest example of this being Arthur's kid Percy, who has a terrible luck stat cap despite being very lucky in flavor text. )

Elise by so much. I don't like Sakura at all. She's bland and her only notable point is how shy she is. She seems like one of those shy sues who are so shy and can't do anything wrong. I find it really annoying. Elise on the other hand is a very fun character. I admire how much she cares for those around her and the MC. I like her role in Birthright as well. Also she makes for a good unit.

Heh I just got my Elise! Ophelia. I sure hope she plays well. She certainly leads to a good magic stat. Her other bases are alright too it seems.

I've played All Of Birthright and I'm on chapter 18 of Conquest so here are my opinions to that point: Birthright: Conquest:

Why? If you don't want to deal with all the romance and such then don't marry them. That said limiting doesn't sound fun either. I like seeing all the possibilities for characters to interact with each other. It's fun :3 (although it ends up making me grind for supports a LOT)

To go back on topic I think the top two characters I dislike the most so far (That being only having played through Birthright for the most part) for me are Xander and Sakura. Xander not for his attitudes when facing against him but how he interacted with the family in general. Personally I just wasn't very fond of it really. Sakura is such a bland boring character. It's another case of a character who's too pure of heart to ever do anything wrong. Perish the thought of the writers actually trying to make her have flaws. Ugh > >

So far playing through most of Birthright Rinkah is my favorite. Cloesly followed by Oboro and Kaden. They're all so cute >W<
