  1. Odd. I shipped Elise and Odin for the supports. They're very sweet imo. I haven't seen much of this yet because of how I pair. But I did do Charlotte and Leo so I could have blond Forrest. It felt more like them using each other than anything close to love.
  2. And then the stats cap! But really I've only bee training up to level 20/20 and I've had lots of capping. Not even with the special modifiers either.
  3. IT's not just Revalations. The pacing of all the fates games are poor.
  4. Scarlet. But since that's impossible it doesn't really matter. Besides Shiro shouldn't be anywhere besides the BENCH. That said if you really want to use Shiro think of a plan that accents what you want from him. If you want him to be tanky find someone with defense and such. That said most likely you probably won't screw him up too hard no matter who you pick so if other pairings matter it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
  5. All of the royal's (including Corrin) personal skills are really good. Also Soleil. Her personal skill is great. (wow if you put Female Corrin behind Soleil you can get +10 hit +4 damage and -4 damage taken. That's pretty nice~) (It's also one of the easiest skills to set up by far x3 )
  6. ..wut You do know those two statements make very little sense together right? Usually the characters easiest to know all about are those that are 2-Dimensional. Because you see what they're about and BOOM you got it! I pick Takumi personally. He looks a lot cuter, he's a lot more relate-able, and I like his personality more. I don't really like cold intellectual types.
  7. I'm not done with the game and a couple of characters I haven't seen enough of but I'll give it a shot. Bold are for the characters I like quite a bit. Aqua color is for the winner of the group. Corrin(m) vs Corrin(f) (avatar): For me it's a difference of night and day. I do not like male Corrin at all. His design is terrible and makes a game filled with princes with special weapons. Female Corrin is decent and puts balance in the genders and looks better. I don't like he but I like her a lot more than male Corrin. Kana(m) vs Kana(f) (avatar child): I don't like either really. But I'll say girl cause she looks cuter. Felicia vs Jakob vs Flora (maid/butler): Flora has the most development and has an interesting personality unlike full moe-gimmick Felicia and rude Jakob. Ironically considering what I expect from maids Flora's design is actually lackluster and much of my like for her is all personality. Silas vs Sophie vs Xander vs Gunter vs Seigbert vs Peri (cavalier/great knight): These groups for me are oddly placed. There are some that I dislike all of and others I like all of. Which is mainly due to the classes. If only the classes were more diversely spread. But they're not which means my game has no Paladians. (But no shortage of other beasts). I pick Gunter solely due to his wonderful level-up growths. Yes really that's the farthest I could care about any of these. Also Peri is terrible. Hinoka vs Shigure vs Caeldori vs Subaki vs Reina (pegasus/kinshii): Hinoka is awesome. I really like how she strives to be self-susfissent, rather than rely on her retainers like the other nobles can do. The rest of them don't appeal to me. Reina is also terrible. Takumi vs Kiragi vs Setsuna (archer): I like Takumi, he's an interesting character and I can feel his insecurities. Setsuna is a nice joke and nothing more. I don't like Kiragi. While I could like his optimist view, when it's coupled with the love of hunting it rubs me the wrong way. It's like there are many joys in life but the thing that's going to give you all these joy and move you is killing animals? He may not be as upfront about it as Reina and Peri (And isn't hunting humans luckily).. but I don't like it. Maybe some of his supports help him out. (Same with Peri. Reina gets very few supports and the bit of it I've read only dug her deeper.) Niles vs Nina vs Shura (outlaw): I like Niles and Nina. I mainly picked Niles because I know him better. Forrest vs Elise vs Dwyver (trabadour): Elise is a beast. But really she's awesome. I love her loyality to those close to her and I love how she wants to make peace. I also like the childishness. Really acting childish is fun, I love it myself. I also really like Forrest and the message he sends. But he can't beat Elise. She's the beast.;3 Sakura vs Mitama vs Azama (cleric): Mitama is cute and her personality is humorous enough. I'm not a big Sakura fan. Her personality seems a bit too mary sueish to me at times. Also her name... I think that's probably half the problem with her character. Azama is a jerk. Saizo vs Kagero vs Kaze vs Asugi (ninja): Kagero is chill. I like her art. Strange art ftw. Kaze is a cool dude. Asugi is a terrible clone that never should have been made, and Saizo gives me no reason to like him. Midori vs Mozu vs Yukimura vs Azura (etc group): SMOKE WEED EVERYDAY Fuga vs Ryoma vs Hinata vs Hana vs Hisame (swordmasters): Hana is awesome, I like her devotion and the messages she's trying to send. Hinata is also likeable too. He's sorta an idiot but it's cute. Rhajat vs Hayato vs Orochi vs Izana (mages): Another group I can't care about. Well Orochi is fine. Rhajat is another terrible clone and Hayato is annoying. If I have to hear him say, "I'm a grown man" one more time I will beat him up and then send him to high school so he can be called a middle schooler by the high school populous. Seriously shut up about it already. Odin vs Nyx vs Ophelia (dark mages): Odin is awesome. Seriously he does what he wants and what he enjoys and he makes himself into the hero that he wants to be. That's really respectable. And it's awesomely funny too! Ophelia is the same but she doesn't have as much of the charm as Odin does. Probably just because of how Odin Odin is. That said she is cuter though. Arthur vs Charlotte vs Rinkah (axe users): Rinkah is the best. Percy vs Beruka vs Camilla vs Scarlet (wyverns): And here is a category where there's no wrong choice. (Well actually there is and his name is Percy. (Well he's not unlikeable but the other wvyerns are more so likeable)) Sometimes Beruka's emotionlessness seems to be more depression than anything. And that itself draws me to her. IT's the same thing with Camilla but in different ways. Camilla is very mysterious and sometimes one wonders if she smothers so much because of her own pain. Scarlet is an awesome rebel who not only can lead people but also has a cool sense of style. Oboro vs Shiro (lancers): This is even more night and day. Oboro is one of the best characters, one of the most developed and interesting characters in the game. I love how she can be a great fighter, a loyal retainer and yet have an interest in fashion. IT's a good example of a character having girly interests without being shoved into GIRLY FIGHTER. No, she's a girl who happens to fight and have girly interests. It's the type of writing sorely missing. Shiro on the other hand seems like a punk, and not the likeable kind either. He seems like the kind of punk who RUNS UP TO A OBVIOUSLY MUCH STRONGER THAN HIM HERO AND GETS HIMSELF KILLED BECAUSE HE HAS NO BRAINS. And yes I hold that against him. I hold it against him very much. Effie vs Benny vs Ignatius (knights): I don't like any of these but at least Benny seems sweet. Sadly I am a shallow bunny :< Soliel vs Lazlow vs Selena (mercenaries): Here is the opposite problem. Too many cool mercenaries. (Although there are more impacted classes... You'll see.) I like them all really. Not a ton but enough. Really they're all cool. Kaden vs Selkie vs Veloruia vs Keaton (shifters): And here we go. The class grouping that has like all the best characters. Yes I know I'm baised. Kaden is just too cute though. I love his sillehness, his niceness and his vainness. He's so obsessed with pretty things, and himself and himself being pretty that it's just so adorable and like ;w; They're all adorable. Selkie's playfulness. Velouria's design and her loner charm. Keaton's tsundereness. My rev team is going to be filled with shape shifters. What fun. Marth vs Ike vs Lucina vs Robin vs Anna (amiibo/dlc): Eh I don't have the dlc so I can't care too much. But... I like Anna so her. (Although I like them all.)
  8. Personally I don't mind Salis. He's a cool dude and I like the childhood friends thing. I do also find him too judgemental though. His biggest problem is his hair though. Ick.
  9. Here are my suggestions: - What Gender should he/she be? Girl. Always Girl. - What asset/flaw/talent should he/she have? +Res -Str Maid - What character should he/she marry/S support with? Hayoto C: But really I'd like to suggest a high skill build. Maybe Swordsmaster, Sniper, or NInja Then buy up a bunch of skilly skills (You'll get Dragons Fang naturally. Can buy Astra, Rend Heaven and others.) Then watch the skills activate.
  10. But with how hard Chapter 10 was I don't think it was a bad idea to try necessarily. If Corrin wasn't Corrin it'd probably mean a won battle.
  11. Second the 2nd gen characters aren't as good as the first gen ones but there are some cool kids. I'd say my favorites are Velouria, Soliel, Selkie, Forrest and Ophelia. Maybe Nina too but I didn't get to know her that well yet (Although that's sorta true with all of the 2nd gen units.) My least favorites are Asugi (the most pointless character in this whole game. Seriously why is he here?), Shiro (because he's such a idiot. His behavior on his recruit chapter makes it very hard to like him. How can you possibly be so stupid as to run into certain death?), Kana (Does absolutely nothing but pine over his mother the whole time. It gets really annoying.), and Rhajat (another pointless character. I liked Tharja but Rhajat is just... bad. (And we didn't need another Tharja anyway))
  12. There are a lot of bad PS really. Personally I'd vote for Kana's just because it forces him to be in the Nohr/Hishido Noble class, and ick. Other lame situational ones like Mitama, Selena, and others are really bad too.
  13. When I played Conquest I skipped Seigbert, Ignatius, Shigue, Dwyer, and Sophie (the last 3 cause I got them on Birthright) due to not wanting to spend that much time on it. Personally I'd skip Asugi (Saizo) or Rhajat (Hayoto). They're both pretty boring Awakening clones imo. Caeldori is too but for some reason I find her more tolerable.
  14. Anything that isn't a gimmick. Gimmicks are the best.
  15. Here's the ones I would personally nominate: Birthright 24 Conquest 10 Conquest 25 Conquest 28 Shiro's Prologue Nina's Prologue (Holy crap that level was hard. I'm surprised I see no one else complaining about it. It's really hard to catch up with all of those thieves.) Revelations 6 Revelations 12 (Not that hard but REALLY annoying. A really poorly designed map.) And of course Castle Invasion 2 and Castle Invasion 3. Ugh.
  16. I haven't played enough of fates to really know that many supports (especially since I want to grind for romantic ones when I get Revelations). But I know some, so here are some of my favorites: Odin - Elise: This is probably my favorite so far. I really like how her response to Odin's Odinness is to be like, "Cool! Can I join in?" It's really heartwarming because it feels like it's something easy to make fun of or put down because it's weird. So to have someone not only not poke fun at it but ask to join in is really awesome. Almost All Of Oboro's supports: Oboro gets a lot of development and gets to show a lot of her different sides during it. So it's really cool. I'd say her supports with Takumi, Kaden, and Hinata are my favorites. The one with Takumi shows her feelings as well as her love of tailoring, the one with Hinata shows her more immature side which is cool to see, and the one with Kaden shows the two bonding in something Oboro enjoys even if KAden isn't that good at it. Idk It was sweet to me. Almost All of Kaden's supports: Kaden is great. That said I tend to enjoy his interactions with others due to his curiosity in what others are doing. He builds up natural chemistry easily. Jakob - Mozu / Jakob - Azura: It's nice to see Jakob not being a jerk sometimes. They were sweet imo. Orochi-Azama: I'm not too fond of either of these two but I did enjoy the troll wars between them. Beruka-Camilla: Beruka and Camilla are both interesting and confusing characters. The two of them show parts of their relationships in this support and I find it a curious read. I do wish it went farther though. Beruka-Selena: I like the sort of realizations they had in the support. It made sense to me at least, and it was interesting to see them fleshed out in the ways they were similar/different Also idk if this counts but I really like the romantic lines between Kaden and Corrin in the Private Quarters. It shows how vain and yet loving he is. Also as an additive note, I don't understand why everyone seems to love Saizo's supports. I didn't care that much for most of them. That said I don't really like Saizo much so that'll color things. I did like his supports with Mozu and Setsuna though.
  17. I agree on this. I was looking forward to the support chain to see more of their backstory and such but it never really came. It's just a wasted opportunity. There was more to learn about the two of them D: Don't worry. Azama/Orochi is a pretty good ship in the game. It's great because Orochi trolls Azama back. Since they're both sorta trolls it actually does work between them imo.
  18. I've seen Oboro and Hinata's support be brought up here quite a bit and to offer a point of dissent I think it's a pretty good support. Yes they are fawning over Takumi some but they are his retainers. Not only that but it shows how they are as his retainers. Just as Effie and Arthur in their support show their sheer dedication to Elise, Oboro and Hinata show theirs in their support. However because they are two different sets of characters they come off different. Hinata can be pretty immature at times and in this support it also shows some of Oboro's immature side as well. (which actually is really nice to see because she acts a lot more mature in other support convos, it gives her even more depth.) It kinda gives their retainerness it's own characteristic, a sorta friendly take-shots at each other and act sorta immature way. Sure Takumi love may be part of the core of it, but even if you ignore it, it does show quite a bit about the two characters.
  19. For myself I don't have any general rules. I try to limit myself in what I get though. Even though in myCastle you can recruit way OP characters if you get to them I won't because that's not very fun. That said I tend to change around some rules that I play by depending on the game or how I feel. Sometimes I don't use the stat boosters. I play in a way that no one should die, however I usually play on casual and save state spam. Save States are wonderful. That said I have one general rule I try to follow as much as possible because this to me is what makes me enjoy the game the most: Use only units I like. Ryoma and Xander may be OP but that doesn't means I'm going to use them unless I have to. If I have the options the characters I like should always go first even if they're weak. (As long as they're actually useable (And most are)). It gets tricky with the difficulty of Conquest as well as the issues when you train up someone and then realize you don't actually like them that much (Sorry Effie.), but in general I use the characters I like. That's what makes the game for me. To use only the best characters instead of the ones I like would be cheating. It's the same thing in Pokemon. I don't care if Exp.Share in Gen VI is really good. It helps me train all my weak unevolved Pokemon. I don't care if I have to grind if it allows me to beat the game with the team I want (in both FE and Pokemon). That is the rule I follow. Above all don't betray myself and the characters I like. :3
  20. Most certainly I want Priestests and Shrine Maidens as well as Maids and Butlers back. I love these classes! >W< Besides that, the Oni Savage line is pretty cool although I find the Oni Chiefian to be a bit much (design wise). Blacksmith is cool. I like the Malig Knight idea but I wish there was a better backstory for it. I don't really like the idea that it's a zombie dragon.
  21. This is one of my biggest gripes as well. Why do all the male nobles get special weapons, and none of the female nobles do? It's stupid. It's also one large part of the reason why I heavily prefer Corrin to be a girl. At least that way one girl can get a special weapon instead of it being only the guys.
  22. While Birthright did use the FE often used trope of underdog nation vs. big bad nation in a way it made it feel more acceptable to me. No it wasn't new, or interesting, but it's a type of underdog trumps evil that I'm used to and that in some manner is enjoyable. It made it easily to go along with Birthright's story even if it wasn't that good. That said I'm really not fond of the unnecessary deaths that were written into the story. Kaze's in Birthright is probably the worst of the Birthright ones (the worst one I've seen so far is Lilith in Conquest. That was just pure BS.), as it makes very little sense, and only serves to shove in a mechanic that shouldn't have been in there.
  23. It probably depends on the field and how many enemies you can get rid of. If it's just one or two enemies likely you can stick someone like Beruka or Valourie and have them tank hits. It also depends on the type of units you have. The main details I think are important is pay attention to how many can hit you and make sure to keep the defense in front. Also high avoid is good too.
  24. Hmmm it depends on the game I think. On Birthright I mixed around more but usually I needed the guard to tank on some of the maps. (chapters 24 and 25 come to mind), while I'm not that far on Conquest (just did Chapter 22) I've been doing a lot more Attack Stancing. In fact I found I did more Attack Stances more later in the game on both files. I think I'm too prone to try to pair up two characters together to support grind in the early game.
