  1. Do you ever get my +6 Soleil? I’m on your friends list from an earlier gauntlet.
  2. Team feathers wins again!! Picking the weaker team is basically a no-lose strategy in this game. I had hours upon hours of multiplier rounds on Team Lissa, and still managed to get winning feathers. Poor saps on Team Tharja get low scores and no win feathers. This is truly the most ridiculous and unfair game mode in FEH.
  3. Legit, that’s exactly what I did last hour, didn’t play at all. It’s refreshing for the multiplier to be denied an upset, like with Shanna.
  4. Victory, and covered in the glory that is denying the BS multiplier an upset.
  5. I think I’ve gotten it figured out. First two rounds - pick the underdog, burn all flags at 6.5 multiplier or above. Third round - may not be a clear underdog (see current VG), use your flags 4.0+, the numbers can get so big that even at 1% multipliers are not a sure thing. I followed this and am currently at cumulative rank 94. I don’t think there will be enough multiplier rounds left to knock me out of the top 1000, but we’ll see.
  6. I didn’t want to whine that much about the multiplier this time, but it’s so annoying that multipliers happen when many people are or are headed to sleep. I’m staying up to see if Tharja can get one more multiplier, but have to give it up after that.
  7. Risky to hold onto too many flags. Last gauntlet I went into the last round ranked in the two hundreds. Waiting until the second day like I did the previous two rounds was a disaster. Very few multipliers. I wound up having to dump 1000+ flags on non-multiplier games.
  8. Tharja pulled out a win, no doubt superior numbers for two hours was enough.
  9. I think it's a better way to give free orbs.
  10. I prefer the Echoes version myself. I just think it really fits Celica and her initial team of mages.
  11. Well I said I was leaving but I wanted to respond to this point. Before the multiplier, the point of playing on a less popular team was that you were competing against your own team moreso than the other team. Your efforts compared to your teammates earned you rewards. It was a way to show your devotion to your chosen character. That was the point of playing. Who won only had 500 feathers on the line, while being the #1-1000 Chrom fan or whoever, gave you a lot more rewards.
  12. Seriously, was that warranted? Do you deny that it is better to pick a character that most people won't? That has been true for at least the last two gauntlets. It has nothing to do with upsets. In fact, even if Shanna lost, which I expected, it would have been better to play on the 'losing' team. Playing like that is lucrative, but mercenary. Better in my opinion for people to be able to play on their favorite's team and that team win if it wins, and lose if it loses. But I see there's little appetite for that here. So, back to reddit and the inevitable memes this win will generate. Good night all.
  13. First, I don't know that the majority cared either. People on the Lucina/Camilla bandwagon probably weren't going to go out of their way to explain how happy they were their waifu was crushing the competition. Second, before the multiplier, the game rewarded earning all your flags and playing as much as possible for your team. It also didn't punish you that much for playing on your favorite's team. It was all in good fun. Now? Now, it's really not sensible to play on a popular character's team. After this amazing triple upset, and I'll admit it is amazing, it's just a plain sucker's bet. You can play less and get more, much more. All my salt got used up with Lyn and it gave me high blood pressure. Since then, I've been playing for feathers. And doing well. I just wish we had a different game mode because this one depends on the vast majority of players continuing to proceed under the delusion that this is still a popularity contest, while the people here and in other parts of the community know better.
  14. Actually, I didn't. I was perfectly happy with it being a popularity contest. I never understood why people got bent out of shape about a popularity contest being won by the most popular character. My objection to the VG now is that you are given incentives to pick the character you are pretty sure will be the LEAST popular because that maximizes feather gains. That's just silly. Ryoma was my favorite character in this gauntlet, but I didn't even bother because I knew win or lose, his team would have few multipliers and it would have meant few feathers. I picked Shanna and rode her unpopularity to a massive haul of feathers. I would have gotten more if I had played the earlier multiplies in this round better, but if this game mode comes back next month, I will have further enhanced my strategy.
  15. How salty can you be for winning three times in a row and coming away with a massive haul of feathers? But I like fair games, maybe you don't. I don't care either way.
  16. But it is, in fact, rigged. The multiplier is something that no individual player has any meaningful control over and it creates perverse incentives to maximize rewards. The multiplier is the very definition of rigging a game. What else do you call giving one team more points because they are losing? While I don't think it's worth getting that mad about, I also don't think there's anything positive that comes from the VG.
  17. I was on Team Shanna and this was anything but fair. This thing is so unfair it might as well not even be called a game.
  18. Well given their track record, they will lower the threshold to give the multiplier for being 0.1 percent (0.001) ahead. Or heck, maybe they will create a blue shell so that randomly you just lose, lol. I seriously can't believe the team I chose specifically because I thought she would lose, won. And gave her team high cumulative ranks too. This is the silliest game mode I've ever seen.
  19. Really just need a new game mode. Whole game at this point is about trying to game the multiplier. Rooting for your favorite character is a fool's errand. VG is really the worst game mode and I hope they get rid of it. This VG proved that they've ran out of ideas for this anyway.
  20. Yup, I need to get that as well. The numbers get too big in the final round and you can't easily predict when multipliers occur. I should have burned some flags earlier. Oh well, I haven't been all that motivated to promote any unit anyway.
  21. So far, Takumi just isn't earning that fast. I'm thinking it will take at least another hour or two. Takumi could do this just right though and trigger a multiplier for Shanna in the second to last hour and hopefully getting the last one.
  22. Nice to know I'm not the only one sitting on all these flags. Sigh... I was in the top 200 at the start of the round.
  23. I have 102 unique 5 stars right now. The pokedex is filling up nicely. F2P by the way, unless you count the several hundred dollars I've spent on the game, but besides that completely F2P.
  24. We probably will get something like this in the future. Most likely on a new character though. I don't necessarily see the problem so long as they keep most skill available for skill inheritance and dump extra stat points in the defensive stats. So let's say Morgan gets added with this: Mjolnir: Attack +3; If Attack is >1 of the opponent special cooldown charge +1; if special activates by attacking unit attacks twice (special does not activate twice) Rally Spectrum: Grants adjacent unit +3 to Atk/Spd/Def/Res Felblood Ignis: Grants 50% Attack as bonus damage; if unit's attack >5 of the opponent, opponent is instantly defeated (Can only be inherited by those of Fell lineage) A: Deathblow 3 B: Recovery - heal 15 HP every other turn C: Valor 3 - If unit survives all units receive 2x SP HP: 35 Attack: 35 Speed: 35 Defense: 30 Res: 20 So this would, if I did it right, have Morgan as a trainee for stat purposes with absurdly powerful skills. However, if all but Mjolnir is inheritable, then we should be OK. Even if Felblood Ignis can only go to Morgan's mom/dad, that's a decent way, I think to improve a launch unit. I guess I see this as a great opportunity for the game to keep it fresh so long as the developers power CREEP instead of lurching forward.
