  1. That people shouldn't be overly pedantic about this. Some units are just better than other units and complaining about that using a player derived set of rules is unreasonable. Ayra and Sigurd are awesome units, but they just join a large and growing group of units that are powerful. Honestly this whole "controversy" is rather silly to me. I have Ayra and Sigurd but I blew through those developer maps with the same base team I've been using for months.
  2. Again, that's reverse engineering how the game works and making reasonable inferences as to the rules. You say that's how the game works. But Ayra shows that the game no longer works that way. My point is that the developers are not bound in any way by what dataminers have deduced through their work. Unless you can show where the developers have stated that these are the rules they choose to be bound by in perpetuity, then it is unreasonable to hold the devs to what at best is a past practice. The developers have the right to change, modify, or break the game in any way they wish. There are no RULES to be broken. There are only theoretical constraints that have been proven inoperable.
  3. That's a fan site. Do you have a developer statement or source that confirms that methodology? My point was that everyone has convinced themselves that there are 'rules' in place to be broken. When, to my knowledge, the developers have never announced any such constraints on their behavior.
  4. Consider this: Sigurd and Ayra are sword units. It is well understood that sword units are at a distinct disadvantage in this meta. Someone even put up a meme on the Reddit of Robin still being an effective counter to these units (even if Robin v Sigurd is a snooze fest). This doesn't even get to Reinhardt. Perhaps IS is recognizing that for new reds to be viable they need a bit of a boost to make them viable. Power creep isn't always a bad thing.
  5. I think that the un-inheritable skills provide a means to give a character an individual identity and a reason for use instead of a dispenser for skills.
  6. Question: I've seen a lot of people make reference to some variation of "there are defined rules for BST." What is the basis for that statement? To the best of my knowledge, IS has never explicitly provided ground rules that bind their conduct in this manner. It seems that many people make inferences, perhaps reasonable inferences, based on available facts. But those inferences aren't rules. Of course, I could be wrong. So could someone point me to where there is a defined rubric for determining the stats of units? Because otherwise I can't see where the basis for some of these complaints lie.
  7. I've been quiet about this because I don't want Ice Dragon or someone else to come after me, but I have been secretly rooting for our silly dragon even while being on the other team. First two time Champion, I didn't think she had it in her, but if her team keeps going like they have she will be.
  8. Nonsense, being salty is the most entertaining part of the VG.
  9. Beep's comment was that the art is unpopular, which it is. I agree it fits the character, but being good in a art criticism sense has nothing to do with whether the masses like it.
  10. That and let's face it, her summer version is gorgeous. IMO one of the best, if not the best character art. As you say, her regular form is just a regular old dragon.
  11. I definitely made a mistake switching to Ninian. I caught that last multiplier twice, thank goodness, but unless I can burn these flags on 1-2 more multiplier rounds, I'll probably fall out of the cumulative top 1000. I think next gauntlet, best strategy might be to wait until mid-day on the first day of the round before picking a team. You want your team to be subjected to maximum pwnage (do we still say pwn?) so you can be assured those sweet 6-7.5x multipliers.
  12. I feel like I've made a terrible mistake. I thought the finals would be a back and forth with multipliers and so went Ninian. But Corrin is being beat hard. Much harder than I would have expected. I wonder if Ninian players are spamming flags now?

  14. I didn't see that as intended to increase difficulty. The Embla's Ward was to enforce the "turns to defend" rule. The point of those maps aren't to nuke everything down and dip, which in a game that has rapidly devolved into ORKO strategies and characters is welcome.
  15. I just wanted to add to this. A unit having a skill like Iote's shield creates an opportunity cost for that unit, in that they don't have another A skill that is more generally applicable. Which is an opportunity for the opponent to exploit.
  16. Hax! You must have gotten the super secret 7500x multiplier.
  17. I got just what I expected out of Team Corrin, 1.2 million points. That all the winning I need.

  19. Well Corrin is down by 300 million, he needs to earn about 500-700 million to trigger a bonus. But it's possible he won't overshoot. I swear if he wins, the memes will be too much to handle.
  20. If Ninian can give Corrin the bonus next hour, he should overshoot and give her the last hour bonus. But it's also possible he would build just enough of a lead to deny Ninian a bonus. Then it's anyone's game I guess.
  21. I hope not, I'm on team MCorrin, but dude doing a double upset into the finals is just wrong, even though I can't help but secretly giggle at the idea of the Corrin Battle of the Sexes.
  22. Not sure if you still need some Team MCorrin help, but I have Inigo set up: code 9955024635
