  1. I don't see any reason why you can't play both!  I'm trying not to be too biased, since Xenoblade is my favorite game, but it's always exciting to play a new game as it comes out.  I'm getting my copy in the mail Friday, but I'm still going to continue playing through Persona 5 Royal at the same time.  Just alternate to whichever one you feel like playing whenever you sit down to play!

Pretty much all the non-student characters, thanks to the optional battles being such a fun way to bring them up to speed, and because attacking monsters several levels lower than the recommended number adds a nice challenge to the game without having to play on Maddening.

I mean, Catherine is pretty amazing and Maneula has a good spell list.  Shamir's not too bad, but Hanneman and Alois are definitely a bit lacking compared to a lot of the students you have.

I think I axed the correct post.  If someone's stuff is missing, and shouldn't be, please let me know!

Yes!  Thank you so much.  My internet was just acting up and I accidentally double posted.

No one's really "bad" in Path of Radiance, except maybe Sothe since he can't promote

I'd say that Sothe could be considered bad.  He's amazing at the beginning of the game, but he falls off pretty quickly, and gets stuck because of the promotion you mentioned.  Even during Endgame, he can't do much.  I still like him, though, so I try and always use him.

Ehh...Well, bases>Growths, and as much as I like growth units, she essentially joins at the same time as Cormag, who is probably the best flier in the game, at least on Ephraim route. On Eirika's, she's much more competent due to lack of competition, (I've never found Vanessa to be very good, actually.) although her starting equipment is horrendous.

No, you're right.  I think that (not counting Syrene) she's definitely the worst of the three fliers you get, but being the worst of the fliers is still pretty good.  I always use her over Vanessa anyways, because I have personal beef with Vanessa.

    • Dart? Is he bad?

I'd argue that Dart's biggest weakness is his promotion item.  You get the Ocean Seal about 5 or 6 chapters after you get Dart, and even then it's really tempting to sell the Ocean Seal for the huge amount of 25k gold.

    Sophia;
Granted, is her starting chapter she can't do anything beside digging for treasures. And then the next chapter requires the biggest ton of babying you've ever seen. But the outcome is great, she has plenty of speed to cancel out her awful con, and flux deals plenty of damage. Lots of work for not much reward, but I like it.

I've never actually used Sophia, but I love her character and design.  Recently, I've been using Kast to stream myself playing iron man runs to a few of my friends, while calling them on my phone at the same time.  I'm just finishing up an FE8 randomized iron man, and I'm thinking FE6 might be next.  Maybe I'll take a shot at using her this time around!

Yeah, this.  Ashe's Strengths are really good, allowing him to take advantage of some of the best classes and skills in the game.  Axes make it easy for him to go into Brigand and get Death Blow, and then from there he can become a Wyvern Lord pretty easily thanks to his Budding Talent in Lances.  On top of that, he still has good Bow rank, Bows being arguably one of the best weapon types in the game thanks to the availability of Close Counter.  He's far from the best unit in the game or anything, but I think he deserves a bit more credit than he gets.

Other people say she's bad, but personally I think Astrid is pretty damn great in Radiant Dawn.

I think she's definitely not as bad as people give her trouble for.  One of her biggest weaknesses is ironically Paragon, and how tempting it is to throw it on another one of your already good units.  I always try and use her, though.

    FE8  on a no tower/ruins run:

    • Ewan
    • Marisa
    • Amelia
    • Ross
    • Knoll
    • Tana

Oh yeah, I forgot about all the trainees!  I love Ewan in particular, but Amelia and Ross are always fun to use too.  I personally don't think Tana's that bad, though.  She's usually not as good as Vanessa, but there's never really any reason to not just use both of them.

  6. The title says it all!  What are some FE units that you know and acknowledge aren't very good, but still love to use?

For me, there are definitely a few.  My favorite character in the series, Nino, is obviously not a very good unit, but I always end up trying to use her.  The same goes for Ilyana in both FE9 and FE10, even though she's not really awful as much as overshadowed.  I always make an effort to use Tailtiu in FE4 too, because I think Wrath is just such a fun skill to use in that game.  The more I write this list, the more I realize I just like using bad mage girls...  What about you guys?

  7. I'll give my opinions on some of these!

    Spoiler

Helswath - Even though it obviously doesn't happen in FE4, it would be pretty cool to see Lex with the Helswath.  Chances are that Langbart will get it, if anybody.

Yewfelle - I think Brigid will probably get it first.  Faval is possible, but FEH has a huge preference towards pretty women.  Chances are, Brigid would sell better than Faval.

Beo Sword - Either Beowulf or Dermott.  I'm not sure who would get in the game first, neither of them are super popular characters, at least to my knowledge.

Aureola - I originally thought Athos would get Forblaze, but with Lilina getting it he has a chance of Aureola.  I wouldn't be surprised if he got some type of "Elder Forblaze" or even "Blazing Forblaze", as silly as it sounds.

Rienfleche - I was surprised that Rath didn't get this, so I've theorized that Louise might.  I hope it's one of those brave weapons that give -2 Spd, referring to it's mistaken description saying that "it can strike consecutively".

Double Bow - It's gotta be Shinon.  Like, who else would use it?  Rolf?  Nah.  Shinon's gotta have the Double Bow.

Baselard - With Sothe getting Peshkatz, I'd have to guess either Volke or Heather would get Baselard.  If I had to choose between the two, Volke is probably more likely, and I think the guy deserves it.

Matrona - As much as I don't really want it, I'm sure that we'll eventually get a Legendary Micaiah, and chances are she'll be a staff unit with Matrona.  And on top of that, I bet they'll find a way to still make it effective against armors and cavalry units.

Pursuer - I know it won't happen, but getting Pursuer as a Setsuna refine would be so cool.  I can't think of anyone else that would really use it, besides maybe Reina?

Spear of Assal - My man Seteth better get this one.  I can't think of any other good candidates besides him.

Master Axe/Lance - I think that Xavier or even Hannibal would be a good candidate for either of these!

  8. I had this Ashera idea laying around for awhile, so I thought I'd throw it out there.  Also, with Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition coming out soon, I thought I'd make some Xenoblade builds!  Enjoy!

    Mythic Hero: Ashera

    Spoiler

Ashera, Goddess of Order (R Tome Armor)

Light Blessing: HP +5, Def +5

Weapon: Judgement (14 Mt, Unit can counterattack regardless of foe's range.  If the number of allies within 3 spaces (excluding unit) is ≥ 3, grants Def +20 during combat, but after combat, if unit attacked, deals 10 damage to allies within 3 spaces.)
    Asisst: N/A
    Special: Glacies

    A Slot: Def/Res Bond 4
B Slot: Mantle (At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 50%, inflicts special cooldown charge -1 on foe per attack.  (Only highest value applied.  Does not stack.)  At the start of every second turn, restores 10 HP.  (Skill cannot be inherited.))
C Slot: Breath of Life 4 (After combat, if unit attacked, restores 10 HP to allies within 2 spaces.)

    HP: 57
    ATK: 40 (54)
    SPD: 16
    DEF: 18
    RES: 38
    BST: 169

If we have Yune, we need Ashera!  And here she is, generally designed to balance out Yune as an opposite.  Red tome, armored, and Light Mythic.  I tried to base Judgement off of how her boss fight worked in Radiant Dawn, where you had to defeat her surrounding allies before you could really hurt her, as her surrounding allies take 10 damage and protect her.  Her weapon originally only worked if she had 3 allies within 2 spaces, but I thought it would be too weak and buffed it to 3.  Judgement gives her +20 Def, similarly to how Flora's weapon does, so she has even defenses of 38/38 without sacrificing her other stats.  She comes with Def/Res Bond 4, in order to increase her bulk to a very respectable 45/45.  She has a personal skill in Mantle, which is just basically a better version of Guard combined with Renewal.  I made this before Special Fighter came out, so it's not as good as it was when I first came up with it, but I still think it's fitting, and it's good for a more budget build.  She then also has Breath of Life 4, which is a huge buff.  It abandons the need to initiate combat, and now reaches 2 spaces to heal for 10 HP.  With correct positioning, she can heal off the damage that her own weapon does to her allies.

    Shulk

    Spoiler

Shulk, Wielder of the Monado (Sword Infantry)

Weapon: Monado (16 Mt, Accelerates special trigger (-1 cooldown count).  Effective against armored foes.  In combat against an armored foe grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res +5 and neutralizes effects that prevent unit's follow-up attacks.)
    Asisst: N/A
Special: Vision (5 CD, Reduces damage from foe's attack by 100%.  (Skill cannot be inherited.))

A Slot: Sparrow Breath (If foe imitates combat, grants Atk/Spd +3 during combat and Special cooldown charge +1 per attack.  (Only highest value applied.  Does not stack.)
    B Slot: Special Spiral 3
    C Slot: Infantry Breath 3

    HP: 48
    ATK: 39 (55)
    SPD: 40
    DEF: 27
    RES: 19
    BST: 173

With Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition right on the horizons, I thought I'd make some FEH builds for an unlikely but dream-worthy crossover!  Shulk's entire build is focused around two things: Slaying armors (mechon) and activating his vision.  His personal weapon, the Monado, accelerates his special and gives him big buffs against armored units.  His personal special is Vision, a 5 cooldown defensive special (4 with the Monado) that negates 100% of damage, allowing him to effectively dodge an attack.  The rest of his kit is based around triggering that special, with Special Spiral knocking it down to 2 cooldown after he's activated it once, and then Sparrow Breath (a simple combination of Fierce and Darting Breath) allowing him to trigger it quickly again.  His C Slot, Infantry Breath, is based off of his abilities to use Monado Enchant to buff his allies, as well as using his own visions to help them out.  He's got a pretty offensive statline, but his naturally high speed makes him a good user of Close Call or Repel, and with his Vision, he makes a surprisingly good tank.

    Melia

    Spoiler

Melia, High Entia Princess (Colorless Tome Infantry)

Weapon: Elemental Discharge (14 Mt, Grant Atk +3.  If Special triggers before combat, grants special cooldown count -3 after combat.  If Special is ready, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res +3 to allies within 2 spaces during combat.)
Asisst: Ardent Sacrifice+ (Heals adjacent ally 15 HP. and neutralizes negative status effects (preventing counterattacks, restricting movement, etc.) that last through ally's next action.  Unit loses 15 HP (but cannot reach 0 this way).
    Special: Blazing Light

    A Slot: N/A
    B Slot: Lull Spd/Res 3
C Slot: Shadow Stitch (At start of turn, restricts foes' movement to 1 space in cardinal directions with Res < unit's Res through their next actions.  (Skill cannot be inherited.))

    HP: 38
    ATK: 37 (54)
    SPD: 38
    DEF: 18
    RES: 31
    BST: 163

Being my favorite Xenoblade character, once I got start on making Shulk I knew she needed to be next.  I struggled with her build a lot, thanks to her incredibly unique and diverse playstyle.  I eventually settled on a colorless tome, with them being all the rage recently, as well as giving her a build based around special spamming.  It may not be the most unique of builds, but it really fits how she works in Xenoblade.  In Xenoblade, Melia chooses different elements to buff her and her allies, and then gets rid of those buffs in exchange for big bursts of elemental damage.  This is a similar idea, where she uses different elements (different AOE specials) to get repeated burst damage, while buffing her allies at the same time.  She also comes with Ardent Sacrifice+, which mostly just represents how much the poor girl got shafted by the story.  Lull Spd/Res 3 is just a great tool, as well as one that most AOE nukes can't ever run.  She comes with a personal C slot as well, Shadow Stitch, which effectively is just "Movement Ploy".  It's a powerful skill, but her Res isn't the highest, so I don't think it's all too broken.  Overall, her uniqueness as a colorless tome and AOE nuke make her very powerful.

    Sharla

    Spoiler

Sharla, Colony 6 Medic (Green Bow Infantry)

Weapon: Gadolt's Rifle (14 Mt, Grants Spd +3.  Effective against flying foes.  Calculates damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res.  If unit's HP ≥ 50%, grants Atk +7 during combat.)
Asisst: Heal Bullet (Rng 2, Restores HP = 75% of Atk.  (Minimum of 8 HP.)  (Skill cannot be inherited.))
Special: Heal Round (3 CD, Boosts damage by 40% of unit's Def.  Restores 15 HP to unit and all allies after combat.  (Healing does not stack if triggered more than once per combat. HP restored to allies even if unit's HP reaches 0.)  (Skill cannot be inherited.))

    A Slot: Atk/Def Form 3
    B Slot: N/A
    C Slot: Fortify Def 4

    HP: 42
    ATK: 37 (51)
    SPD: 32 (35)
    DEF: 33
    RES: 24
    BST: 168

Despite her role as a bow unit, Sharla is meant to be a healer through and through.  Her non-inheritable Assist and Special are both meant to push her as a support unit.  Heal Bullet is just basically a stronger version of Physic+, healing based off of 75% of her Atk rather than 50%.  Heal Round is very similar to Young Merric's Righteous Wind, healing 15 HP to everybody after combat if it triggers.  Her weapon is an ether rifle, effective against flying foes and calculating damage based off the foe's lower defensive stat.  It also gives her a great +7 attack as long as she is above half health, which shouldn't be too hard thanks to her special.  Her adaptive damage, attack boost, and good attack make her a pretty good unit at OHKOing fliers and other blue and green foes.  The rest of her kit is just meant to buff her and her allies.  She's surprisingly tanky in Xenoblade, which is why I decided to give her good Def.

  9. Hey y'all!  Today is my 18th birthday and I'm a bit bummed to be stuck inside because of quarantine.  Really missing all of my friends.  Who else here has had a quarantine birthday?  Any tips on how to make the most out of it?  Thanks a bunch 🙂

If you want stories with a lot of mysteries then I'd highly recommend the Zero Escape series. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero_Escape

Yeah, this.  All three games are good, but the first one, 999, is my personal favorite of the three.  They're a mixture of visual novel and point and click puzzle games, and they're a ton of fun.  The characters are pretty much all likable, the dialogue is funny, and it's really engaging.  There are multiple endings to each game, and each ending helps you put together a piece of the overall puzzle, until you can figure out how to achieve the true ending.

Another good game for mysteries and stuff to discover is Hollow Knight.  It's a platformer with a lot of focus on combat, so if you don't like that maybe stay away.  But if you're willing to give it a shot, I think that the story and lore to that game is fascinating.  None of it is flat out handed to you, and there are all sorts of tablets and hidden NPCs around the world for you to discover and put together the story.

  11. FE4 is my favorite game and I really encourage going into it as blind as possible for the best experience.  I'm actually in the midst of writing an FE4 guide, which is currently at about 70 pages in length, so if you have any specific questions, I'd (or anyone else on this forum I'm sure) would be happy to answer them.  I'll try to give some basic advice without going too into detail, though.  Mounted units are really good because of large map size.  You can and probably should use every unit, since you can deploy as many as you'd like.  There is no trading, only selling and rebuying, so make sure the right units are getting item drops.  Those are just the basics, but most of all have fun.  FE4 is an extremely fun game, and it's strange mechanics may make it seem daunting, but it's not too bad when you get the hang of things.  I hope you enjoy FE4!

  12. Welcome!  It's great to have new people.  I hope you enjoy your time here!

Eirika is far from my favorite, but she has a sacred (stones) place in my heart, since SS was my first FE game!

  13. I'd say it also depends on the game.  Some games start out harder because of more limited resources and untrained units, but others get harder because of how difficulty ramps up.  As a general rule of thumb though, good bases are better than good growths.  Assuming said Fighter is level 1, that 10% extra growth will only contribute an extra 3.9 speed on average, and that's only if you level that fighter up to their maximum level.  3.9 (or 4 we'll say, for the sake of the argument) is obviously more than 2, but in context I think it's not as good.  Having 2 extra speed right out the gate is better than eventually having 4 extra speed, by the end of the game.

  14. The title says it all!  I'm curious to hear about some of your favorite video games.  I love hearing about games that people really have passion for, and maybe I'll find a new game to play over quarantine in this thread.  For starters, I'll talk about some of my own favorite games!

Xenoblade Chronicles: Xenoblade is probably my favorite video game of all time.  I adore basically everything about the game, and it holds a lot of nostalgia for me.  The gameplay is fun and fluid, and the story and cast are amazing.  Playing through the game, I always found something that I could be doing, never getting bored.  I've poured countless hours into the game, even 100% completing it through a New Game+ file.  Needless to say, I'm extremely excited for Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive edition, which comes out on the Nintendo Switch on May 29th (just two days after my birthday!).  If you've never played it and like big JRPGs like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, then I'd definitely suggest picking it up next week!

Hollow Knight: Hollow Knight is a gorgeous, atmospheric metroid-vania that I can't stop playing.  The gameplay is just difficult enough that it scratches my itch to torture myself, but I never felt that the game was unfair when playing through it.  The entire game is hand-drawn, and every single area feels unique and immersive.  The story is subtle, yet gripping, and rarely does the game interrupt your gameplay with long conversations or cutscenes.  On top of that, the game is only $15, available on PC, Xbox, Switch, and more.  Despite the ridiculously low price, the game has just as much content as any other $60 triple A game, and comes with 4 free DLC packs.  It;s a great value for an even greater game.

Celeste: Celeste, in a lot of ways, is very similar to Hollow Knight for me.  It's another platformer indie game, but has an entirely different vibe and energy than Hollow Knight.  Rather than the combat that Hollow Knight focuses on, Celeste is entirely about its platforming.  It's difficult, yet gratifying, and the longer you play the more interesting your movement options become.  It also tells a simple, yet touching story about anxiety and accepting yourself.  The graphics take on an 8-bit, classic style, and look beautiful.  On top of that, I'd have to say its soundtrack, by Lena Raine, is one of the best I've ever heard.  It's only $20, but I'd only suggest it to those who really enjoy a challenge or platformers.  Once you get the hang of the game, it's not too difficult, but for those who don't have interest in platformers I don't think it would appeal.

Those are just some of my favorites, but I won't go on for too long!  I might add more later, but for now I just want to hear everyone else's favorites.

  15. As an avid played of both Fire Emblem and MTG, I think this is a really sick idea.  An FE game with an Innistrad or Castlevania feel to it is such a cool concept, and opens up for a lot of opportunities that other FE games haven't explored.  New enemy types, classes, and weapon types are just some of those things.  I also love your idea on having a "Stress Meter", as it fits the theme really well.  I'm also a big fan of the stamina mechanic in general.  I would love if somehow an angel could get incorporated into the story, either as an enemy type or even a playable character, just like in actual Innistrad.  A playable Angel class could be pretty cool, with a flying unit who wields Lances and Holy Magic.

Anyways, I'd play this game in a heartbeat.

  16. @ciphertul

Boy do I have suggestions,  Starting off, if you like romance and comedy, then I think Kaguya-Sama: Love is War would be perfect.  It was mentioned earlier in this thread, but it's just so good that I had to suggest it again.  It strikes the perfect balance between comedy and endearing, good romance.  The second season is currently airing, and every episode is even better than the last.  Another fantastic option is Hyouka.  It's a little more subtly romantic than a lot of other shows, and the romantic aspect isn't the focus of the show, but it does tell a very sweet story, and is beautiful to boot.  It's funny, sweet, and enjoyable watch!

Now I've just gotta throw in my favorite manga for the hell of it.  Houseki no Kuni, or Land of the Lustrous is by far my favorite manga, and the anime is just as amazing.  It's tough to explain what it is without going into detail, but it's more of an action show than anything.  It only has one season, but that season is a really good watch.  Something notable about it is that it's entirely 3D animated, but manages to use that to its advantage, going full minutes without any cuts or interruptions during action sequences.  The colors and textures of the show are just absolutely breathtaking, and it goes without saying that the story is a gripping one.  It may not seem like your cup of tea, but I'd definitely suggest giving it a shot!  I think it went way under the radar when it aired, and deserves a lot more credit.

    Have fun watching some anime!

  17. Xenoblade Chronicles and Fire Emblem would be cool!  Xenoblade is, if not favorite, one of my favorite video games of all time, and obviously by being here I love Fire Emblem.  Though Awakening is far from my favorite FE game, I think the cast would be interesting when paired with the Xenoblade cast.  Both Shulk and Lucina's entire characters revolve around the concept of changing the future and challenging the fate you were given.  The two of them could have some interesting interactions together.

As for gameplay, I think it would be really cool to see Shulk and co. as FE units.  A lot of them fill in pretty stereotypical RPG classes, but have uniqueness about them.  For instance, Melia is obviously a mage, but her entire gimmick in Xenoblade is that depending on what element of magic she is using, she provides different buffs to her allies.  Seeing Melia has a mage in FE that can equip different tomes to give her surrounding allies buffs to their different stats would be really cool!  Likewise, Reyn is your tanky unit, who can withstand a lot of damage, and his gimmick is that he can draw the enemy's attention from your squishier allies.  Reyn in FE could be a fighter or armor knight, with some kind of ability that allows him to draw the AI's attention to him over other units.

  18. Hands down Seliph, as both a character and unit.  Don't wanna spoil anything for the rare person who doesn't know some of the major events in Genealogy of the Holy War, but I think that the motivation and conviction his character has resonates with the player so much.  You want Seliph to win just as much as he does, and you can understand and sympathize with his actions.  Seliph is the hero that Jugdral desperately needs, and he steps up to that task.  You get to watch Seliph grow into the type of man that Sigurd is, and I think watching that journey is incredible.

In terms of gameplay, Seliph is just ridiculously good and fun to use.  Inheriting the Silver Sword (which will probably have 50 kills by then) means that he can just carve through enemies with criticals, and I tend to also always inherit the Paragon Band to allow for quick growth.  Seliph will be promoted in no time, giving him access to a mount and even better stats.  And not too long after that, he'll get hold of the Tyrfing: A 30 Might sword that gives him +10 Skill, +10 Speed, and +20 Resistance.

    Seliph is the man.

  19. I think the best advice for this would to be to, as you said in your own post, just keep playing!  When it comes to Fire Emblem, gauging "good play" isn't the easiest thing in the world, because it's not about beating the game, but how you do it.  No one is just naturally good at Fire Emblem, it takes a lot of play time to build up knowledge and instinct.  I was absolutely horrible at the game when I started, even struggling with Sacred Stones (which is often considered the easiest title in the series), but now that I've played the series for years and played almost every game in the franchise, I find myself playing a lot faster and naturally.  Heck, even if you're given everything you need to know, it's difficult to use it without enough experience.  So as much as it might be kind of a cop-out answer, I'd say just keep playing the game (and other games in the series if you want to just get better at FE in general!).

Another good way to improve your own skill is to give yourself self imposed challenges.  Maybe you play through the game once normally, and then replay it using entirely different characters.  That should help you slowly figure out which units are better than others, and why certain strengths or utilities may be more important than some others.  One way that I tend to play a lot is an 'Iron Man' run, where you can't reset your game, even if one of your units dies.  This may not be the best type of play through for you right now, but I think that once you get to a point where you get more confident in yourself and your play style, it's a really interesting way to play the game.  Iron Man runs really help teach you to play more carefully and spend more time analyzing situations, as well as teaching you to use every tool and character you have available to you.

Other than all that, I'd like to stress that you should make sure you're still having fun!  It doesn't matter if you become the best player in the world if you don't enjoy playing anymore.  If improving and pushing yourself further makes the game more fun for you, that's fantastic, that's exactly how I am!  But if you find yourself trying too hard to play optimally and not enjoying it, make sure to take a step back and find what you really enjoy about Fire Emblem.

  20. A summer banner featuring some of the Leonster folk!  Tbh the Jugdral characters deserve a break.  Let them have fun, IS!

Weapon: Tropical Gáe Bolg (16 Mt, Grants Def +3.  At start of combat, if unit's Def > foe's Def, reduces foe's Atk/Def by 50% of difference between stats during combat.  (Calculates reduction before combat.  Maximum penalty of -8.))

With Quan and Ethlyn, I wanted them to be a lance infantry, but I didn't want them to be an exact replica of Duo Ephraim and Lyon.  I decided to make them more defensive than offensive, hence the Duo Skill giving DC and the Tropical Gáe Bolg reducing Atk.  I chose an effect similar to the picnic weapons for the Tropical Gáe Bolg because I think that it's a really cool effect that only got used a little bit.  I also wanted to make the weapon themes of this banner Lull skills and debuffing enemies, so I thought it fit.  Looking over his stats, I may have made him a bit too min-maxed, but I think it's okay.

    Leif

    Spoiler

    Leif, Coastal Unifier (Staff Infantry)

Weapon: Pearl Staff+ (12 Mt, At start of turn,  grants special cooldown count -1 to ally with the highest Atk.  (Excludes unit.))
    Asisst: Physic+
    Special: Earthwind Balm+

    A Slot: HP/Atk 3 (Grants HP +6, Atk +4.)
    B Slot: N/A
    C Slot: Infantry Pulse 3

    HP: 46 (52)
    ATK: 37 (53)
    SPD: 21
    DEF: 33
    RES: 24
    BST: 161

I wanted to make Leif a healer because of his ability to wield staves after promotion in FE4 as well as I felt it suited his character, as the 'Unifier of Thracia'.  The Pearl Staff is a staff decorated with shells, with an oyster at the top that opens up to reveal a glimmering pearl whenever Leif heals another unit.  I designed his kit off of special acceleration because I thought it would be pretty unique and useful to have a staff that can give that QP effect to any unit, no matter their movement type.  Units like Ares who rely on specials, but cannot get Infantry Pulse appreciate the effect.  His A slot is just a better stat buffing skill, which I figured would be fine considering how inflated A slots have become.  HP +6 and Atk +4 should be fine if we have A slots that are giving Atk/Spd +7.  His stats are pretty generic for a healer, with his Atk being the only thing thats notably high.

    Nanna

    Spoiler

Nanna, Nordian Flower (G Tome Flier)

Weapon: Floral Volleyball+ (12 Mt, Inflicts Spd/Res -3 on foe and neutralizes foe's bonuses to Spd/Res (from skills like Fortify, Rally, etc.) during combat.)
    Asisst: Rally Up Res+
    Special: N/A

A Slot: Swift Impact (If unit initiates combat, grants Spd +7, Res +10 during combat and foe cannot make a follow-up attack.)
    B Slot: Mystic Boost 3
    C Slot: N/A

    HP: 38
    ATK: 35 (47)
    SPD: 38
    DEF: 15
    RES: 29
    BST: 155

Nanna is atop Pegasus, because....  I thought the game could use more good green flying units, I guess?  Her weapon is a magic volleyball that she spikes towards her enemies.  It also happens to give her Lull Spd/Res 3, which is great for her, since flying units cannot inherit Lull skills naturally.  She also comes with Swift Impact, a Res based version of the 'Steady Impact' that Eliwood and Roy's Blazing Durandal Refine gives.  This skill, in combination with her Mystic Boost, helps her take down dragons without being too threatened.  Mystic Boost also heals her after combat, meant as a nod to her Earth Sword in both FE4 and FE5.

    Altena

    Spoiler

    Altena, Luminous Flame (Sword Flier)

Weapon: Tiki Torch+ (14 Mt, Inflicts Atk/Def -3 on foe and neutralizes foe's bonuses to Atk/Def (from skills like Fortify, Rally, etc.) during combat.)
    Asisst: Rally Atk/Spd+
    Special: N/A

    A Slot: Death Blow 4
    B Slot: Spd/Def Ruse 3
    C Slot: Joint Hone Atk

    HP: 43
    ATK: 40 (54)
    SPD: 32
    DEF: 32
    RES: 20
    BST: 167

Altena rides in battle wielding a flaming tiki torch - no, not that Tiki.  Just like with Nanna, she appreciates her weapon giving her the Lull Atk/Def effect, one she would not be able to obtain otherwise.  Her kit is based around debuffing the enemies with her weapon and B slot, and then using her high Atk and Death Blow 4 to try and one shot them.  Her stats, however, are pretty balanced, and allow for more build options if you'd prefer to stray away from the one-shot playstyle.

    Finn (Tempest Trials Unit)

    Spoiler

Finn, Relaxed Retainer (B Bow Flier)

Weapon: Crabclaw Cannon+ (12 Mt, Inflicts Spd/Def -3 on foe and neutralizes foe's bonuses to Spd/Def (from skills like Fortify, Rally, etc.) during combat.)
    Asisst: N/A
    Special: Moonbow

    A Slot: Spd/Def Form 3 (At 5 Stars)
B Slot: Aerobatics (At 4 Stars)
    C Slot: N/A

    HP: 39
    ATK: 36 (48)
    SPD: 34
    DEF: 29
    RES: 20
    BST: 158

You can't have Leonster without the best retainer in the series.  Finn is a Blue Bow Flier, a pretty unique type of unit.  Funny enough, the only other unit in the game with that typing is another summer unit, in Summer Lyn.  While Finn probably isn't as good as her, he's definitely a lot more available, being easily merged through Heroic Grails.  His weapon follows the theme of the others, giving him Lull Spd/Def.  He also brings Spd/Def Form 3 at 5 stars, a skill that is new and not easily obtained, but also not unrealistically valuable.  Aerobatics is a very solid skill that a lot of units run in Aether Raids and other modes, so I think it's a good skill for him to fodder at 4 stars.  His base stats aren't the craziest, but he has just enough Atk and Spd, as well as Def, that he can run a few different successful builds.

Those are some pretty interesting builds. How come you gave Marianne Abraxas when she doesn't learn it in 3Hs? I'm guessing because Aura already exists in the game. I was thinking of something like this:

      Reveal hidden contents

    Marianne

    Sword Cavalier

Weapon: Blutgang. Grants Res +3. Effective against Cavalry/Beast. Unit targets the lower of foe's Def/Res. If unit's Res > foe's Res +3, unit can counterattack regardless of foe's range and neutralizes effects that prevent unit's counterattack.
    Asisst:
    Special: Iceberg

A Slot: Beast's Crest - Neutralizes unit's cavalry weakness. If unit is alone or only adjacent to Cavalry/Flying allies, grants unit +6 Atk/Res during combat.
    B Slot: Lull Def/Res
    C Slot: Ward Cavalry

    HP: 36
    ATK: 33
    SPD: 35
    DEF: 20

Yeah, it's a combination of a couple things.  I originally gave her Blutgang, but then I figured I'd save that for her post-timeskip version.  And as you said, Aura's already a tome, and I couldn't think of anyone else in 3H who would use Abraxas in FEH, so I just gave it to her.  It's a weird choice, but I might change it down the line.

  22. Some Three Houses units I came up with!

    Marianne

    Spoiler

Marianne, Cursed Blood (B Tome Flier)

    Asisst: Ardent Sacrifice
    Special: Miracle

    A Slot: Mirror Impact
