  1. Anankos is still alive in Birthright and Conquest, but Heirs of Fate states that he is sealed away within Valla (somehow, it's not explained when this happened) and it's suggested that without a proxy (Garon/Takumi/Gunter) he can't really do anything on his own unless the seal is broken. In addition, he's much weaker outside Valla so he can't attack Hoshido and Nohr directly. Azura seems fairly confident that the world is at peace after Birthright and Conquest, since Anankos is still stuck in Valla and Hoshido and Nohr can probably fight off any soldiers he sends at them.

Of course, one version of Anankos does break free from his seal, but ultimately he's defeated and everything is restored to how it was before.

  2. So four days ago I summoned again and got Cain (4*), Beruka (4*), Draug (4*), Fae (4*), and Henry (3*). This is a better pull than usual, and now I have every weapon type represented (except for a red breath user).

Two days ago I was less lucky and ended up with Robin (3*), Niles (3*), Cecilia (3*), Chrom (4*), and Lissa (4*), with all except Robin being repeats. The repeats ended being fused with the ones I already had. The extra SP was appreciated, though!

I don't think I'm motivated enough to get another 20 orbs before the focus ends, so I'll call it quits for now. I was hoping for one of the focus characters (or any 5*, for that matter), but I suppose I'll get my chance, another day. Maybe I'll horde until someone I like gets a focus, or when Ninian is added...

  3. Technically, a "voice" is a sound produced in a person's larynx so I don't think it's something that can be interviewed.

Thanks for posting this! I read this a few days ago and I planned to share it here, but I... never did. Thank you for making up for my procrastination.

Ms. Strober really is great. Out of curiosity I decided to look into her performance as Esmeraude and she sounds nothing like Azura. OHHHHHHH-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho!

  4. So I spent 40 orbs immediately after the focus changed, and...

    The first summoning:

    The second summoning:

These summonings were worse than usual (and I'm not sure why the game likes giving me 3* Donnels from my only blue orb), but at least now I have a good lance user.

  5. Out-of-universe, do whatever you want because you aren't Corrin (despite what the advertisements may tell you).

In-universe, though, it's both weird and doesn't make much sense. Corrin believed Camilla and Elise (and Xander and Leo) to be their biological siblings for the majority of their life, which should've prevented any attraction from forming between them. In this case, it shouldn't matter that they're not actually related.

Corrin and Hinoka/Takumi/Sakura is also weird (but slightly less so, arguably) because the latter three always thought that Corrin was their actual sibling, Corrin comes to believe they're siblings, and they both fall in love before they learn they're not related. Ryoma knows but Corrin doesn't, though we don't know when Sumeragi told him about that so it's hard to tell how Ryoma's feelings developed.

Corrin/Azura is a special case because they met as adults, they initially don't know they're related, they only find out near the end of Revelation, and they live in a time period where cousin marriage is more acceptable among royalty.

  6. I'm glad Gant is getting a card, he's my favorite Ace Attorney character.

So based on what we learned for the future, my predictions are...

    • Series 10 (September) will feature Thracia 776 and Sacred Stones (which would be confirmed if Leif gets a R+X in Series 8). Though this seems too obvious so they might try something different.
    • Meanwhile, Series 11 (December) will be a "greatest hits" set with characters from every game and the OCs from Warriors (if there are any) and Heroes. Everyone in Warriors and the Choose Your Legends variants of Lyn, Ike, Roy, and Lucina will also get new cards.
    • Alternatively, Series 11 will be something else entirely and the Heroes/Warriors characters will be promos or something.

Though what they'll do after that before the Switch game is released is anyone's guess...

Cipher keeps throwing curve balls at us. It's equal parts annoying and fun.

...But because of this I'll probably be wrong.

  7. Chrom getting two SRs in one series would be unique, since (counting the different genders of Corrin as separate characters) only Azura in series 3 has received that honor before (mainly because she's associated with both Nohr and Hoshido and thus is her own counterpart, unlike most Fates characters). Maybe we'll get good king Chrom and evil king DIO Chrom.

I'm also under the impression that B08-048 (the card after the Risen) will end up being Grima. There are six Jugdral cards left after Altena's SR discounting the inevitable mascot, so I suspect that Julius and Ishtar will be among them (and someone else maybe).

Yeah, Setsuna's a hard placement, since she doesn't really personify any of the attributes of the houses, so maybe she is Gryffindor by default.

Ravenclaw just seems the "ditziest" house.

Maybe the Sorting Hat would just sort her into whatever house Hinoka is in? She doesn't fit into any other house anyway.

Since Ravenclaw has been established as being fond of eccentrics, oddballs and "imaginative" people, I think that Owain might be sorted there.

  9. If it would be helpful, here's the Pottermore welcome message for when I was sorted into Ravenclaw. I'm not sure if it's taboo to share it with non-Ravenclaws, though.

    Spoiler

Congratulations! I’m Prefect Robert Hilliard, and I’m delighted to welcome you to RAVENCLAW HOUSE. Our emblem is the eagle, which soars where others cannot climb; our house colours are blue and bronze, and our common room is found at the top of Ravenclaw Tower, behind a door with an enchanted knocker. The arched windows set into the walls of our circular common room look down at the school grounds: the lake, the Forbidden Forest, the Quidditch pitch and the Herbology gardens. No other house in the school has such stunning views.

Without wishing to boast, this is the house where the cleverest witches and wizards live. Our founder, Rowena Ravenclaw, prized learning above all else – and so do we. Unlike the other houses, who all have concealed entrances to their common rooms, we don’t need one. The door to our common room lies at the top of a tall, winding staircase. It has no handle, but an enchanted bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle. When you rap on the door, this knocker will ask you a question, and if you can answer it correctly, you are allowed in. This simple barrier has kept out everyone but Ravenclaws for nearly a thousand years.

Some first-years are scared by having to answer the eagle’s questions, but don’t worry. Ravenclaws learn quickly, and you’ll soon enjoy the challenges the door sets. It’s not unusual to find twenty people standing outside the common room door, all trying to work out the answer to the day’s question together. This is a great way to meet fellow Ravenclaws from other years, and to learn from them – although it is a bit annoying if you’ve forgotten your Quidditch robes and need to get in and out in a hurry. In fact, I’d advise you to triple-check your bag for everything you need before leaving Ravenclaw Tower.

Another cool thing about Ravenclaw is that our people are the most individual – some might even call them eccentrics. But geniuses are often out of step with ordinary folk, and unlike some other houses we could mention, we think you’ve got the right to wear what you like, believe what you want, and say what you feel. We aren’t put off by people who march to a different tune; on the contrary, we value them!

Speaking of eccentrics, you’ll like our Head of house, Professor Filius Flitwick. People often underestimate him, because he’s really tiny (we think he’s part elf, but we’ve never been rude enough to ask) and he’s got a squeaky voice, but he’s the best and most knowledgeable Charms master alive in the world today. His office door is always open to any Ravenclaw with a problem, and if you’re in a real state he’ll get out these delicious little cupcakes he keeps in a tin in his desk drawer and make them do a little dance for you. In fact, it’s worth pretending you’re in a real state just to see them jive.

Ravenclaw house has an illustrious history. Most of the greatest wizarding inventors and innovators were in our house, including Perpetua Fancourt, the inventor of the lunascope, Laverne de Montmorency, a great pioneer of love potions, and Ignatia Wildsmith, the inventor of Floo powder. Famous Ravenclaw Ministers for Magic include Millicent Bagnold, who was in power on the night that Harry Potter survived the Dark Lord’s curse, and defended the wizarding celebrations all over Britain with the words, ‘I assert our inalienable right to party'. There was also Minister Lorcan McLaird, who was a quite brilliant wizard, but preferred to communicate by puffing smoke out of the end of his wand. Well, I did say we produce eccentrics. In fact, we are also the house that gave the wizarding world Uric the Oddball, who used a jellyfish for a hat. He’s the punch line of a lot of wizarding jokes.

As for our relationship with the other three houses: well, you’ve probably heard about the Slytherins. They’re not all bad, but you’d do well to be on your guard until you know them well. They’ve got a long house tradition of doing whatever it takes to win – so watch out, especially in Quidditch matches and exams.

The Gryffindors are OK. If I had a criticism, I’d say Gryffindors tend to be show-offs. They’re also much less tolerant than we are of people who are different; in fact, they’ve been known to make jokes about Ravenclaws who have developed an interest in levitation, or the possible magical uses of troll bogies, or ovomancy, which (as you probably know) is a method of divination using eggs. Gryffindors haven’t got our intellectual curiosity, whereas we’ve got no problem if you want to spend your days and nights cracking eggs in a corner of the common room and writing down your predictions according to the way the yolks fall. In fact, you’ll probably find a few people to help you.

As for the Hufflepuffs, well, nobody could say they’re not nice people. In fact, they’re some of the nicest people in the school. Let’s just say you needn’t worry too much about them when it comes to competition at exam time.

I think that’s nearly everything. Oh yes, our house ghost is the Grey Lady. The rest of the school thinks she never speaks, but she’ll talk to Ravenclaws. She’s particularly useful if you’re lost, or you’ve mislaid something.

I’m sure you’ll have a good night. Our dormitories are in turrets off the main tower; our four-poster beds are covered in sky blue silk eiderdowns and the sound of the wind whistling around the windows is very relaxing.

And once again: well done on becoming a member of the cleverest, quirkiest and most interesting house at Hogwarts.

I don't have the messages for the other houses so it would be nice if someone else offered them.

  10. I'm not sure how to embed tweets right now, so go here to see them.

    Anyway, for the men:

    Spoiler
    1. Ike (PoR)
    2. Roy
    3. Hector
    4. Chrom
    5. Ike (RD)
    6. Marth (FE1/FE11)
    7. Ephraim
    8. Robin
    9. Takumi
    10. Leo
    11. Henry
    12. Dorcas
    13. Donnel
    14. Lon'qu
    15. Gaius
    16. Niles
    17. Marth (FE3/FE12)
    18. Joshua
    19. Eliwood
    20. Owain

    And for the ladies:

    Spoiler
    1. Lyn
    2. Lucina
    3. Tharja
    4. Camilla
    5. Corrin
    6. Eirika
    7. Cordelia
    8. Azura
    9. Micaiah
    10. Nowi
    11. Robin
    12. Tiki (Awakening)
    13. Lute
    14. Felicia
    15. Elise
    16. Mia
    17. Anna (Awakening)
    18. Nephenee
    19. Nino
    20. Sakura

Also, it seems that Lucina and Roy will get costumes in addition to Lyn and Ike.

  11. Goodness, I had no idea Ike had so many... devoted fans. No wonder he was in the top five twice.

It should be noted that since Japan is the magical land of the future (i.e. timezone differences), it's possible that other places will get the results late 2/8 instead.

  12. So I'm on a quest for good lance users. I would like Azura, but I don't think I'll get her anytime soon unless she gets a focus event or something. So how is my quest for lancers going? The answer is "of questionable quality."

On my first roll after my last post, there were no blue orbs. I didn't have any healers, so I used a colorless orb and got Azama (4*), which is good.

On my next roll, there was one blue orb. I used it and got... 3* Donnel (after getting Donnel earlier that day though a special map). Unsatisfied, I chose a red orb and got Selena (also 3*), which is better.

A few minutes ago I rolled again, and once more there were no blue orbs. I picked a green orb and got Frederick (4*) and after that a red orb (because I thought that I might get Roy or Lyn or Caeda or something) and got Fir (4*). If nothing else my luck with four stars is pretty good, and now Bartre is reunited with his daughter! At this point I might stock up on orbs instead of using them whenever I reach 20 so that I can try for blues repeatedly later.

  13. For my 2nd complete pull (and my fourth pull overall), I got Takumi (my first 5*), Olivia (3*), Bartre (3*), Gunter (4*) and female Corrin (4*). Seeing both Corrins reminisce about their families at the same time is rather amusing. Currently I only have three blue units so hopefully I can get more next round (if I'm favored by the RNG).

Is there a difference between a 5 star Focus character and a non-Focus 5 star character?

There's no gameplay difference, but focus characters have a higher rate of being summoned and thus are easier to get than non-focus 5 star characters.

1 hour ago, Magician Lugh said:

For Quests and Missions, do you only see the requirements for Hard after you've completed all of those on Normal difficulty level?

Yes, and the same applies to Lunatic missions.

  15. So even though I got the game yesterday, I waited until now to post for some reason.

My first three rolls was done as soon as I could. My first character was Sophia (3*), my second was Setsuna (also 3*), and my third was the hero of love and justice himself, Arthur! (4*) After that I realized that I wasn't doing it most efficiently since I didn't start with 20 orbs, so I stopped until I got that many.

The second time I went in there were four reds and one gray. I didn't need anymore red characters, so I only chose one red and got Stahl (3*).

After my orb count went to twenty again I started for my third time. The results were 3* Cecilia, 3* Nino, 4* Cherche, 4* male Corrin, and 4* Odin. Overall I was pretty satisfied, and I actually wanted to get Corrin unlike everyone else on this forum, probably so it helps make up for the fact that I probably won't get Azura anytime soon.

Japan's definitely getting it 7:00 am their time.

we are not, and will get it at a yet to be announced time on the 2nd.

I don't think that's an official account or a reliable source. NintendoAmerica, NintendoEurope, and FE_Heroes_Japan are definitely legitimate, so everything official will be on one of those accounts.

....y'know, looking at the frontrunners again, I realize that Cordelia's the only one on the top 10 that I don't really get the hype behind. Like... I know she was one of the top-voted females in the Awakening and all, and I get that she's pretty and talented and stuff, but like.... why.... IS she so popular....?? I don't dislike her or anything, I just don't get it.

So... I guess it'd be nice if Azura, Micaiah, f!Robin, and someone like Tiki or Lute got enough votes to bump her off the list for me personally I guess...? But I'm not really expecting Lute to be able to make up that much ground... (christ just realized that Nowi is #11 as well... that's... kind of uncomfortable knowledge haha.... ;;;; ) Man, I think Tiki is my best hope at this point. Kind of wondering if maybe I should have pulled stronger for her.... haha, well... too late at this point. =3=

I'm not entirely sure myself, but I think it's because Cordelia is pretty, nice, and has a sympathetic backstory, amongst other things like being talented but relatable and having a tsundere daughter. Other characters may have those things but that's the impression I get. Though I did marry her in my first Awakening run so maybe I'm in a position to know...?

Regardless, you still have one more day to vote, so vote for Tiki or whoever else if you really want to! Just as long as you don't vote for someone who's already in the top five twice.

Also, Azura is actually growing on me as  character as I read more of her supports. Just found Kaden and Azura and I love it! S-Support is pretty underwhelming though. But before I considered Azura to be a bland, and as previously stated an Exposition Bot.

Azura as a character actually benefits greatly from her support conversations, since they grant insight into her personality, relationships with her family and others, and why she acts as she does. You can see this thread for suggestions. Her support with Arthur in particular is highly regarded.

Xander, Ryoma, Takumi, Silas, Kaze, Jakob, Gunther compared to Hinoka, Camilla and Elise. I wonder if it was intentional and with female players in mind.

EDIT: I did think about Lilith and Felicia, but they don't seem to be obsessed with Corrin to an unhealthy extent like those characters I mentioned.

I did some research and the only character that is even vaguely obsessed with Corrin is Camilla*. Camilla has four/five supports that revolve around her relationship with Corrin (Jakob, Silas, Arthur, Ryoma, arguably Niles), but the rest of her supports don't. Jakob and Silas don't have any supports about Corrin other than the aforementioned ones with Camilla, but Corrin does have influence on their backstories (namely, Corrin is the first person to find worth in Jakob and was Silas's first friend). The rest are either Corrin's siblings or servants, so they're expected to have a strong relationship with Corrin (and none of them talk about Corrin extensively anyway).

*And Takumi in Conquest, but he's only obsessed with Corrin because his brain is on evil dragon god.

  20. General observations:

    • The art is nice.
    • Why does Corrin take up half the page? Well, aside from, you know...
    • Either Azura is camera shy or the artist didn't have enough room for her. She probably wishes that she could be with male Corrin and the Hoshidan royals instead.
    • Xander, Camilla, and Elise are upset that the manga isn't starring them. Meanwhile, Leo is wondering why he has to be the star of a manga that he didn't ask for. He's probably cursing that popularity poll.
    6 minutes ago, 0w0 said:

Assuming from the cover, it takes place during Conquest?

Given that it stars Leo, most likely.

  22. Completely disorganized thoughts:

    Spoiler
    • Happy that Azura is in the top ten.
    • Unsurprised that Lyn, Lucina, Tharja, and Camilla took the top spots. Also unsurprised that Hector placed highly.
    • Unsurprised that female Corrin is significantly higher than male Corrin.
    • Pleasantly surprised that Ephraim and Eirika are in the top ten.
    • Surprised that Xander and Ryoma aren't in the top twenty.
    • Would prefer if Ike didn't take up two slots of the top five.
    • Marth would probably place in the top three if his SD and Mystery versions were counted together.
    • I wonder how much these results will differ from the final results.
