  1. If you're going to excuse the class due to hard mode advantages, that's not really justifying the use of class at all. If they weren't fun to use on normal, then they won't be fun to use in hard mode either since you're prone to making use of units with hard mode bonuses anyways in which case, only Shin and Klein would be worth using. Argue how worthy Shin would still end up being bowlocked because in the end, players want units whom they can rely on and since managing snipers is infuriating for most people, why stick with them when there are so many variables that you get? And no, I've never used a Sniper but like I said, upon looking at the class and managing to beat them thanks to Ninjas and others, its all eh to me. And honestly, when other classes have too many advantages over the sniper class, i'd wonder why pick the sniper even if they can ignore debuffs? I don't care about your enemy or player phase argument when the enemies are pathetically weak in the GBA games that you really don't have to use your basic units and can straight off use prepromotes or just buff any unit whether in FE7 or 8. My point is that why should I ever bother to train Rebecca who will take a long time to get any better and is locked to 2 range when I can use better units like Raven who not only has great bases but can literally do more damage than her due to using better weapon types? Even Louise can't be on par with Harken at that matter. And really, that's also the problem that FE6 has as well. They generally suck and Shin's an exception eventhough he's not a sniper because he has a horse and anything with a horse is good on my book. Its really from Echoes onwards that Snipers are actually worthwhile classes to consider usiing because they are balanced better. Not this stupid 2 range lock crap. You're arguement doesn't matter here because Shin is a nomad and not a sniper. And the only reason he can kill reliably isn't because of him being just bowlocked but rather because of all the things you claim he doesn't need truly needs as maps in FE6 are long? But I'm done here.
  2. The only reason Shin is good is because he has a horse which Wolt and others would wish they had. And Shin and Sue are far more usable due to them being able to 1-2 range attack so what are you getting at here? If shin were to be 2-range only just like other units even with a horse, I somehow doubt anyone would want to use him over better units. By exclusive, I meant exclusive in one game alone. If Mozu weren't in Conquest for whatever reason, you most probably would not be able to get the class. Just because you can get them in the other game doesn't mean that the class isn't exclusive to the specific region its from. Not getting enough snipers actually is kinda bad because then it serves as a niche rather than something you would like to try. But even then, they are still nowhere near threatening as Ninjas, Heroes and Swordmasters who have too many advantages over them. And no. The reason Snipers are worse in the GBA games is because of low weapon effectiveness and the general weak enemies. And while FE6 has tons of wyvern riders and tempts you to like get a bunch of snipers, do you honestly need them when you consider that you get better units at that point? Not to mention that there are ways to bypass those chapters that have fliers. At the end though, its only from echoes onwards that snipers are actually more appreciated than before simply because they can hit beyond their usual range which none of the other classes can do.
  3. Uh..yes the class itself is exclusive in birthright. It exists as a Hoshido class exclusive and the fact that Mozu herself can be a sniper because of that alone proves it. The only way to obtain the sniper class is if you use waifu for other members to get the class. That part including the fragility make it less of a reason for others to use snipers. And what do you mean by player phrase anyways? More turns for the player? It doesn't matter anyways since you can't get enough snipers, you're forced to literally rely on other classes. And the point here is that again, if snipers weren't improved in Echoes, they'd be either something of their niche or practically worthless. Right..and I suppose that excuse can be used for the snipers during the GBA era?
  4. That still doesn't matter in the end when you have the excuse that they can't hit within one range unless you get the mini bow I think? And on top of that, its exclusive to birthright so unless you rely on waifu, you're stuck with one sniper in the whole of conquest. Why would I waste time with that crap when Conquest gives you units that have more advantages than snipers. Its only from Echoes onwards that make snipers far better due to them being able to hit more than just two range and that they can hit one range as well.
  5. And besides that, you have mages and druids that can sweep them out easily. You don't even need to sweep out a large portion of them since you can bypass most of them and by then, you get units that can sweep them out. There are still several other classes that outweigh snipers simply because of their merits being fat bettar than snipers. As you said, fragility is something a sniper doesn't want to have when dealing with mages or fliers. Snipers aren't something that you'd want to use unless you have maps that have fliers. And even then, you have mages and mercenaries who can dish them out pretty easily.
  6. If its one thing that I'm greatful about Gaiden/Echoes is that Snipers are very useful compared to all entries before 3H. Had FE2 not showed up, Snipers would be the same worthless class like how its always been.
  7. Well its not like you'd listen to them the whole time considering that its short. Anyways, there are songs that you'll like and songs that you won't and music for that is subjective. I personally however find this to be a major improvement from Fates which just lacked the charisma.
  8. Woah now. I mean music is subjective but if you want Fire Emblem soundtrack that's below average, Fates has that in store. Three Houses has amazing quality music on par with Awakening.
  9. I would not say best in the series since the maps are generally long and some have padding problems as well. Especially chapter 21 where the map itself isn't bad but the enemy placements are.
  10. So it makes sense to cancel a card game that's inexpensive to produce despite Nintendo alreadly stating that Fire Emblem is their major IP?
  11. IS deciding to quit the Cipher card game is the worst decision they ever made. Yeah sure, its region exclusive but that's exactly why they should instead locaise the card games to the west and see where it goes. You don't see Gamefreak or Nintendo shutting down the Pokemon trading card game do you?
  12. With the rumors going about on Nintendo planning to do remasters of classic Super Mario games, that' be a blessing if IS could do the same for FE games. I mean can anyone honestly tell me that you can easily get Radiant Dawn and Path of Radiance in less than 40$ in great condition?
  13. I said that not every support has to have it and if it had, it would ruin the social life of characters and social life is part of what makes Fire Emblem special. But I digress...
  14. What isn't true? The cars thing or the character arc thing? Because if its the latter, I have no idea that characters could develop within the story unless its the main lords. My guess to this is people state the Fire Emblem is a waifu game type meme and all the strategy is removed or gone which is blatantley false because Fire Emblem has always had tactical elements and the RNG alone proves that. If you look at FE Conquests, it has the best map design of the whole bunch and the other objectives that are present from previous games are also there. But really though, FE always had romance in the end whether it was minor or not. The waifu meme doesn't even make the series look bad.
  15. What do you mean by character arcs? The only time you ever see characterization in most FE games is via support conversations. If you're bringing in preference over this argument, that doesn't make sense. Cars are built with going from distance to distance so of course you're gonna want to care about what fuel to use. However that logic can't apply here because support conversations can be anything. They don't always have to have world building conversation at all. Doing that ruins the social life that the cast would want to have.
  16. I was referring to the world building aspect. The plot itself does that just fine. There's no need for large support conversations to do just that. So then why bother wanting conversations to bring about world building instead of just conversations? If FE6 already explained enough world building with just the main story, there's no reason for the support conversations to do that. Criticising supports because of not having world building or not mentioning specific things about world building is just unfair when the conversation was not meant to have that in the first place. But I digress...
  17. man...why'd you have to spoil that part? Oh well, i guess it was obvious since I already did the Edlegard route like you mentioned... Since this is a question topic..one thing got into me. Is it apparent that many of the maps are repeated until it comes to near end of each route? So far from the two routes that I've played, many of the map layouts are repeated.
  18. The overall plot of each FE game pretty much tells you the worlds in the game so there is very little needed for the characters to have supports about world building. What does the character mentioning some parts of the world have anything to do with good conversations? That's all just the character background as far as I can tell.
  19. I don't see how characters talking about the world outside them actually makes it better writing. At best, it makes one wonder their identity which can lead to good writing? Wallace doesn't really talk much about his times serving his king and yet, his conversations are simply amazing because of how he went out puzzling Lyn or refusing orders even if it was not a Knight's way to do it. And Three Houses actually has a lot of supports that don't talk much about the world building as you state either. So what's the idea here? Last I checked, you unlock this one chapter that can only be on hard mode unless if I'm not mistaken. And there's a huge difference between Hector and Eliwood campaigns that its doubtful if they can ever be on a single campaign. My point is that more incentive needs to be there to play harder difficulties than just making enemies harder.
  20. Well its better than just replacing stronger enemies or buffing enemies instead of doing something else. The way FE7 is done is what I like best. Hector mode doesn't just add tougher enemies, but rather, some of the maps have units change their positions and what not to make it look different. Sure, adding new chapters may not be everyone's cup of tea but its better than doing the same thing all over with just a harder difficulty. Radiant dawn does this well as the harder the difficulty, the different the things are especially the dialogue. But I don't get it though...many FE games tend to focus on just that or am i missing something?
  21. The issue I have with harder difficulties is that they don't do much besides either adding stonger enemies or replacing tougher enemies instead and some small tidbits here and there. If they could do something like adding an exclusive chapter like how FE7 did, there would be a reason to do so but apparently not anymore. What do you mean by world building?
  22. Fire Emblem should from this point just add one or two difficulty options.
