  1. Ok so we know that Fire Emblem is TRPG series where its tactics adding role playing elements. But would you like to see a spin off where the universe of Fire Emblem is practically a huge world and it plays more of a JRPG where you have turn based combat and doing several sidequests with more dialoge and cutscenes kinda like Xenoblade style? Personally, I would like to see a spin off like that not because it can help Nintendo fill more of the RPG market but because with how the Mario RPG series are gonna be dormant from this point on after the last Paper Mario game bombed and that the Mario and Luigi series is doubtful now that Alphadream is gone, a spin off relating to Fire Emblem could atleast be nice and could fill the empty void of the Mario RPG absence to me atleast. Nintendo already has two developers who are experienced in RPG games. Monolith and to some extent, Intelligent Systems. While the latter might not have experience writing great depth stories, they can make the mechanics interesting to say the least such as adding support scenes instead of conversations or depending on who you recruit, some of the game changes etc.
  2. Oh thanks for such a good advice. I guess it's wrong to demand games from a corporate especially the one who makes only one rpg franchise..or two. I already am not getting a lot of things that I want and have come to terms of it so again, thanks for the reminder.
  3. I honestly don't see the appeal of tms. All it really is is just an idol game with singing and stage performance. And the fact that there is no English dub in this just makes the game overall niche considering that the switch version is already not developing much hype for the game and the marketing effort is lame as it is just trying to put three house costumes and some characters in heroes and that's it. Oh and that one major thing that I heard is getting removed..shocking. I have no doubt that the game will bomb whether it gets support or not and that's really sad on Nintendo's part because they are trying so hard to make this game sell but then fatlus screws it over. Lesson to learn Intelligent Systems. Never collaborate with Atlus for fire emblem spin offs and instead collaborate with tecmo koei or heck..even squenix.
  4. There are several series that have large mass appeals that are also consistent. Like dragon quest or quite easily, Mario. The thing here is unlike other devs, Nintendo rarely makes sequels of games that aren't in demand and that's because of how small the fanbase for these games are. If Fire emblem is small, then they won't develop sequels as consistently as possible.
  5. I want FE to be major on par like atleast Metroid having greatest game meme thing which is just not gonna happen because of it being in a genre that isn't major.
  6. What do you mean says who? The overall genre itself is niche and doesn't print as much money as the other main genres like Platformers, Action-Adventures and of course, other RPGs that are not tactical. Heck, Nintendo didn't see the importance of Fire Emblem until like after Awakening sold like hot cakes and even then, that was only because there weren't many RPGs released for the 3DS at the time. Only reason why Nintendo keeps focusing on Fire Emblem is because it prints them money and the fact that its one of their owned IPs that's partly RPG..something which Nintendo unlike others don't seem to focus a lot on. That is debatable as there were several TRPGs that existed before Xcom and such. Silver Ghost I believe was one and it was Fire Emblem that sort of made the genre atleast notable in Japan..atleast that is what I want to believe in. Even so, the RPGs you mentioned were adding elements of strategy which were only used in small sections. What we're talking about is a genre that relies heavily on Strategy with RPG elements to complex the mechanics.
  7. I don't have particular dislikes in maps but FE6 has many maps that make me infuriated for several reasons especially with how long the maps are in the game.
  8. Expecting a new Fire Emblem game isn't likely to happen so soon even if they reuse three house's engine mostly because the game is already as lengthy as it is. If a new Fire Emblem game is to be released, I would rather, they do ports/remakes instead and pray that its the telius games. Not because they are both on consoles that are now impossible to get but because they both feel unpolished in certain aspects particularly the graphics side. Even the developers were not satisfied with the process as PoR was only 70% completed during its time.
  9. In Japan, SRPGs are classified as Simulation RPGs due to characters interacting with one another. I doubt that X-Com is bigger than Fire Emblem especially when you consider that Fire Emblem came way earlier than X-Com but I digress. But...its really upsetting that the genre itself can't be appreciated outside of tacticians and strategists.
  10. As the main series that sticks to a genre that is arguably niche, how does it compare to the other ones in the same genre? I mean obviously, as a Nintendo IP, its major and even Nintendo acknowledges it but as a series compared to the others?
  11. The 2020 Nominees... Strategy/Simulation Game of the Year Anno 1800 Fire Emblem: Three Houses Oxygen Not Included Slay The Spire Total War: Three Kingdoms https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/2020-dice-awards-death-stranding-control-top-list-nominees-1268547 The game deserves to be won here.
  12. If you ignore the supports, then yes, she would have been as bland as a character as she would have just stopped talking at chapter 12 or something and just been silent. It doesn't matter anyways since FE6 is suppose to be an incarnation of FE1 in some ways and it did just that. having a bland cast overall with some few good characters here and there.
  13. I really don't get the hate for Eliwood either. Unlike his son who is portrayed as the perfect person in existence, Eliwood has flaws as a character and builds it up later on. If he was placed in Binding Blade instead of Blazing Blade, I would have been more tolerant for FE6.
  14. Aren't the supports actually the ones that show the depth of the characters since that is the only time you can see their background story? If so, then yes the supports do determine the overall character and that doesn't matter how well the translation was either. Had it not been for the supports, then the cast would be just as bland as the ones in FE1. OP stated that there are some good characters and yes there are but they are so few and far between and OP missed Noah..one of the cast that has something going on there.
  15. The supports in FE6 are not very deep and I said earlier that there are only few supports that are deep. What is so engaging about Wolt and Alen support? What is so great about Cecila's supports? None of them really stand out on their own because of how simple the dialogue for many of the supports are. It doesn't matter how good the cast of FE6 are because many would not really get into them. FE7 had better deep ones as it was actual slice of life dialogue that was written for each one that FE6 was begging to have even if some of them were pointless.
  16. The problem with the cast in binding blade is that the supports are not deep but simply things like Ogier frightened of Lalum for no reason or Wolt simply getting advice from Alan to keep buffing up. Nothing about the supports intrigue me like in the levels of FE7 where Wallace's supports were top notch and deep. The only times that the supports got deep is the times with LillinaxOgier, RutgerxDieck, Sophiax any of ther supports. Major times, its just the cast bragging how amazing Roy is for being a lord so young. As for enemies, Zephiel is basically a ripoff of Hardin only done slightly different.
  17. Again, that is completely IS fault for doing so. Had they released FE5 on N64 or on GBA instead, they could have done it right. No game is perfect. But that doesn't mean they can't put the effort to satisfy everyone.
  18. In my most unpopular opinion, I think Intelligent systems tends to screw things when handling Fire Emblem as a whole. One thing fixed and then caused a different issue. Next game fixed the issue but then brought another issue and so forth. So where I'm getting at FE4: Great Story, had a mess in gameplay( I don't mind it but others do) FE5: Fixed the gameplay issue by adding variety and good map design but didn't have as deep of plot as FE4. But then was released on an outdated system and bombed. And the main lord promoted very late. FE6: Made some changes to be accepted for handheld play but gave a crapton of useless units and still not improved with the late lord promotion. FE7: Made it accessible to the western market and brought back the variety that FE5 had. Still the lords promoted a bit late and the difficulty was dumbed down. FE8: Made it easy. FE9: Didn't fully complete production and the game didn't utilize the gamecube's graphical capabilities and made it easy. Arguably the best story written FE game of the bunch(can't say for myself though). FE10: Like the previous one except now the difficulty is massive for no reason. Wondered if this and the previous one had any marketing campaigns? FE11: Took what was fine on the first game and made everything a mess. Ugly graphics, dumbed down difficulty and requiring to kill units to get other units. FE12: Fixed the issues of FE11 and made it better than FE3 but then decided to not localise the game to the west. FE13: Mixed all the elements of the previous games and added casual mode at the cost of no objective variety and the starting point of the waifu syndrome. FE14: Made a complete mess of a plot by segregating it in three games resulting in only one game to be the best of the trio, made weapons unbreakable at the cost of having altered stats and made the waifu scene worse than before. FE15: Improved on FE2 and added voices. But still had bland map design. FE16: Changed the formula, improved on Fates path choice and brought many game elements from FE4 at the cost of bland map design. Graphics are somewhat great but still not amazing. Really...IS...why can't we have an FE game that has good plot, good gameplay, great graphics and good map design?
  19. Frankly, considering how this game sold so well, I honestly think that Nintendo/Intelligent Systems should do remakes of their past games since many of them have aged especially PoR which the developers have said that it was only 70% completed before release. It would be interesting to see what the remaining would have been added if the remake were to take in place. I actually thought of moving it in the three house forum but then I didn't see any topic mentioning this before I posted so I assumed that posting it on general fire emblem would have sufficed but my bad.
  20. I can't figure out how you found SMO or Botw disappointing but whatever. Three Houses did everything that fans nearly wanted but the map design. To me atleast, the story is a major improvement of Fates.
  21. Because again, it made no sense whatsoever and really it doesn't do much and that's wh 3H did not have it. The context of two characters getting married is the same nonetheless as the endings show them as paired. Older games have units marry and so do the later games when paired up. The only difference is you get a kid in Awakening and Holy war.
  22. Super Mario series(as well as its various other spinoffs like Wario land) Kirby Mega Man Sonic Pokemon Legend of Zelda Blaster Master I want to say Ys because while the series as a whole is amazing, I like Ys when it was top down and not something like now. Don't get me wrong, Ys IS a great series and I'll get into it but none of them besides the earlier ones make me want to play them again for some reason. I guess Legend of Heroes is the same. Like it a lot and want to get more into it so time will tell.
  23. For Awakening, I can understand why they would have done the marriage thing as they would want to add everything in the game considering that it was to be the last in the series. But I can't understand why that was added in Fates for some reason. Unless you play conquest, there is no reason for the marriage and kids to exist since all it does is just give you units that are just on par with your main units and adds little insentive. And yet despite that, Conquest has the best gameplay since Thracia imo which means that Intelligent Systems are more than capable of making great map designs but decided to go into the birthright route for the future series due to birthright selling well and that one had bland maps imo.
  24. Whether couples marry at the end or whether the supports allow you to do so does not matter because its the same thing. For earlier games, if you want them to get married, you'd keep them alive and really, keeping them all alive is part of the idea of Fire Emblem. Can't agree with this because Shadows of Valentia was released in a time where the Switch was ahead and that many wanted it to be ported on Switch for those extra sales. Cannot see how lack of waifus would make this game bomb.
  25. Toss out Marcus, Zealot, Thea, Yoder and Karel. Marcus and Zealot are good early on but fall fast. Thea is pointless when you already have shanna who becomes ahead of her. Yoder and Karel show up very late in the game so don't bother with them because by the time you get them, you already have units better than them. Ones I would add are Rutger, Lugh and Niime. Rutger for being the best unit early on. Lugh being rather a decent mage and Niime for being the best healer in the entire game. Of course, you can also get Clarine due to her having a horse and I guess...Cecila?
