  1. Yeah, I wouldn't put much thought into your IQ result. It's pretty debatable how accurate it, and it definitely is a poor estimator of happiness or success. One of my friends got a 4.0 at Caltech and scored absurdly high on the IQ test, but after going to Grad School for a year, dropped out due to alcoholism. He's now bumming around drinking fourties and vodka all day...

  2. There's a small community on reddit that I frequent where people write one paragraph stories. I've become quite fond of it, as it allows for something quick to churn out and the weekly themes are good inspirations.

It's September, and the carnival has wandered through the town once again. The tents sprung up overnight, the large flickering signs read descriptions of the fantastic. An elderly couple walked around, musing at the sights and sounds of the festive campground. A dimly lit sign with the words, "Will Trade Youth For Equal Treasures" caught their eyes, the alluring message cast lights within their souls once more. The woman walked in first, apprehensive but excited. It was but 5 minutes, and she came back, colour back in her cheeks and black streaks once again in her hair. "Twenty years in exchange for my piano skill!" she exclaimed to her husband, a pang of regret hidden in her voice. The man hobbled in as fast he could, his legs nearly giving way as he stumbled over the rocky ground. Ten long minutes later, he came out, his cheeks slim and body lean, gruff chin stubble and deep blue eyes, at least forty years gone. "What did you give up, dear?" his wife asked incredulously. To which he simply responded, "Who are you?"

The sword remained in a large stone in the middle of the town, the engraved golden panel above it flashing its heavily embellished message about destined king, one who would bring peace and glory to the Rhuneland once more. Iant was a smallish boy, his skinny, bony arms always made him the butt of jokes among the village bullies. He himself had never met his parents, but his aunt and uncle owned the tavern, and he grew up with the casks of heavy wine that never seemed to make him stronger, salted meat that left him thirsty, and stale bread that was harder than rock. And so when the Dark Knights came riding into the town that night with their skull-like helmets and black maces crushing the futile resistance of farmers, Iant knew what he had to do. It was simply his destiny. And he rushed into the town square, his hand eagerly homing in on the worn out hilt, the blade sliding out from its stone sheath. He could feel the energy flowing through his arms, and with a brave yell he charged at the Dark Knights. And the ceremonial sword, its edge dulled by age, barely chipped the armor of the attackers as Iant was trampled under their cruel hooves.
He dangled with his four limbs outstretched over the pit of glowing green acid, the rope secured tightly around his waist. A large steam engine whistled nearby, and the evil laughter echoed through the vast interior of the clock tower. "Not so cocky now, eh, Mr. Private Investigator?" it taunted. The man rummaged through his pockets for something that could jam the gear that lowered him with deliberate jerks. Screwdriver, gun, wrench, they were all stripped from him during the ambush. His eyes brightened. His emergency money. He fumbled into his inner coat pocket for the large silver coin that he stored there.

Elsewhere in the chaotic city, a beggar bought a loaf of bread with a coin a hurried man had given him earlier today.

Slightly related aside, I have a couple more ambitious projects that's I do on and off, should I put them in a separate topic or right here?

  3. I don't get why you make an account about 1 month ago, and now decide to introduce yourself.

I was too busy lurkin' but finally decided to start actually posting!

Since it seems a lot of people are interested in the writings part of the introduction, here's some really short stories I wrote while back (they are one paragraph long, a format that I've come to enjoy) that I'm personally quite like. A small sample, if you will!

edit: posted to a topic: http://serenesforest...showtopic=24668

  4. Hey y'all

I like complaining and pretty people. So FE is pretty much the perfect series for me! I've actually been lurking for quite awhile, but with AWN devoid of life for the past month, I've decided to roll over to another favourite franchise's forums...

Other games I enjoy are Advance Wars and Pokemon. Ace Attorney is also awesome.

Favourite characters: Percieval, Dieck, Echidna, Pent, Hector, Harken, Seth, Ephraim, IkexElincia, Mia, Nailah among others.

I enjoy writing a lot (usually sci-fi or urban fantasy), and may post a couple thingies here and there. Dark humor is <3

  5. Epic Win:

Micaiah at level 19 with maxed speed

Nolan at level 20 with maxed defense, including an 8 stat up. (That means he got defense on EVERY level up, btw)

No BEXP abuse or items used... Honestly, I have no idea how this happened.

    Epic Fail:

Leonardo missing a 91% hit... which caused Laura to die the next turn.

Leonardo getting hit by a 35%, which killed him.
