  1. So what the heck is this thread, anyway? There's no way I'm going to read nearly 20,000 pages of posts.
  2. Ah, I thought it might be something like that. Thanks for everyone's input!
  3. I've been playing FE2, and I've noticed that one of my biggest difficulties is in determining who gets which weapon or item. At my point in the game, Cellica's party has left the map, but Alm's party is still there, and I gave them the Silver Bow and Silver Lance. (Cellica's party gets much more powerful weapons that Alm's, I think.) I guess in general, weapons are best used to round out units with low attack strength. On the other hand, a powerful weapons may just be wasted if it's used on a weak character. Who do you usually give your items to?
  4. I've been looking at the various growth rate charts on the site, and something's caught my attention. Growth rates for Defense tend to be lower than those for other stats. Naturally, this phenomenon doesn't tend to occur in games with high stat caps, such as Radiant Dawn, but nonetheless, it still happens. It makes more sense in the low-cap games like FE3 and FE5, but even in the GBA games, defense growths rarely go over 30%. Anything above that tends to belong to characters like Knights, which naturally have high defense. Does anyone know why this is? I guess it makes sense that the game would be dull if characters couldn't deal any damage, but I don't see how DEF growth has such a big effect. Maybe I just can't connect the stats to the gameplay. Anyone want to hazard a guess?
  5. So yeah, I didn't actually read the thread, but here's my two cents. LTCing is something I think players do to challenge themselves. It's kind of like speed runs--they enjoy the added challenge. As for me, I haven't even beaten all the games, so while I may do LTC in the future, I'm not going to do so yet. I'm just not good enough at the games yet. Also, while I take some pleasure in capping stats, I don't do 20/20s, just because it's impractical most of the time.
  6. Don't forget to call the main character Serlis.
  7. dondon, I am absolutely loving these responses. Please continue derailing the thread. tl;dr
  8. One more thing: although this probably won't happen this time around, make sure the item shop music plays correctly. Right now the music just stays the same (which isn't a catastrophe, but still).
  9. You know, I wouldn't mind the difference in Gonzales's levels if it weren't for the fact that his stats stayed the same. Also, in my experience, Hero Crests seem to be in high demand in this game. EDIT: By the way, you may wish to look into this game's translation patch. It's on the site, in the "General" section. Use google for instructions on how to apply it. It's written at a 5th grade level, more or less, but it's 99% functional.
  10. Hi all! Quick question. In the skills section of Thracia 776 on this site, it says that the Charge/Duel skill starts another round of combat "if user's Attack Speed and HP are greater than the enemy's." Does this mean the user's Max HP, or the user's current HP? I'm on chapter 13, and I want to try and prevent Selphina from getting doubled by ballistae.
  11. Sorry about that--I misread your post. I thought you said "eirucariba" didn't sound like "aircalibur," not "alacalibur." And you're right, the two sound nothing alike, which is why I think the name should be kept.
  12. Thanks for everyone's help! So if I understand this right, aside from TRS and Berwick Saga, FE4 is the only FE game that allows for negative attack speed. All the others just make it equal to zero.
  13. Ah, I see. Is it possible to have negative AS in any other game?
  14. Hello, all. I noticed some unusual goings-on in the series. In FE4, Azel's attack speed at base is 0 due to his 12-weight Fire tome. Most enemy bandits also have 0 attack speed because of their 18-weight axes. However, Azel still double-attacks them, which would seem to indicate that the game is treating Azel's attack speed as higher. I can only think this is due to it registering negative attack speeds for the Pursuit calculation. In FE3, however, two characters with 0 attack speed will each get only one attack. The info screens will also list "AS" as 0. The same thing happens in Thracia 776. My question is, is it possible in any of the FE games to have negative attack speed? If so, does this value apply to the calculation for a character's Avoid stat? If not, how does the Pursuit calculation work for two characters with 0 AS?
  15. Will this be rated anytime soon? I'd like to see this completed, but I'd prefer not to take over it myself...
  16. Does anyone else think this thread should be stickied? Or will irtikliwT just make another one?
  17. Hi everyone. I decided to change my display name. I used to be known as Gaggle of Geese. I decided to change my name to Dalsin. Just wanted to make sure no one was confused!
  18. I don't want to necropost, but this is the only good place to put this. Irtikliwt, I've been playing through this gem again, and I found two errors in the script, both at the beginning of chapter 2. In the first screenshot, Sigurd says "I can't get you involved it this," instead of "in this." In the second, Eve says "in good conscious." The proper expression is "in good conscience." I don't know when you plan to update the patch next, but I just wanted to alert you to these so you could include them in your future changes.
  19. As requested, here's the file! Thanks for the help, Celice! fire_emblem_blank_transfer_unlocked.zip
  20. SF won't let me post it as an attachment, and I don't have a Gamefaqs account. I also refuse to get a Gamefaqs account, because I don't want anything to do with the community. I could post a Rapidshare if you want. It would expire after a while, but I could always re-upload.
  21. Hello, everyone! My attempt at a workaround using savestates didn't work. However, I tried using VBA-M with Dolphin, and found success! It was difficult doing this on a laptop, of all things, but now I've unlocked the bonus items on my own save file! Furthermore, I have also made a save file with NO progress on it, but that has the transfer content. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to post it here, but if anyone wants it, and knows of a way I can get it to them, I'd be happy to.
  22. Hey. I just started playing FE4 Binary, and I've got a question that's really eating at me. I know that weapon weight is now offset by Strength/2. What happens if a character's strength is an odd number? Is the resulting number rounded up or down? Or is it not rounded at all?
  23. That's because you don't understand how the Japanese transliterate things. EDIT: Disregard that. I misread the previous comment.
