  1. In Thabes Labyrinth I made like, 1000 silver marks on my first go. I was pretty lucky of course, but I seem to usually make around 500 otherwise. As for gold marks, there's a fountain room on the 8th floor I believe and there's a 1/6 chance of a gold mark dropping if you cut the grass. (Only 3 coins will drop. Exit the room then re-enter and 2 will drop, then 1, then none.)

Also you should always be able to get at least 1 gold mark via converting silver marks.

So it's suddenly not a right thing to do just because that guy is your father. (Also that Rudolf isn't really evil, but Alm's change has more to do with the "father" thing.)

Well Alm found out that he's not really Mycen's nephew and that he doesn't really have any family besides Rudolf, soooooo I can kind of understand lol. I feel like it's a fairly human reaction.

  3. I feel the same way about everything you said. I really do love this game and wouldn't mind more like it at all. It definitely helps if you like more traditional JRPG games, as I do.

Echoes nails everything for me, and it love the maps and enemies everyone complains about. It's been a blast since I started.

Same here. Honestly nothing bothered me except for the pronunciation of "Mila" which I got used to and "Archanea" which I refuse to accept lmao. I also wish that 1% was the minimum growth for RES but what can you do. Last complaint would be I wish we could either A. get more pitchforks or B. have any class other than Dread Fighter able to reclass to villager, at least for post game.

For a regular team coming out of postgame, it's extremely unfair, but it becomes beatable once your endgame units reach about level 17 on a promote asap run.

Oh, I don't doubt that at all. Grinding is most definitely required for a normal playthrough.

Though might I ask, why do most people promote ASAP? I mean, I know you get those stat increases, but I feel like it'd be better just to wait anyways due to the potential of other stat gains/more stat gains. Or is it more for class abilities and movement increases? Or am I just weird lol.

  5. I don't think it's "literal BS" but it does get difficult. I pretty much waited to promote my units until they were level 20 and I did grind to level 12-20 on my third-tier classed characters, so it wasn't the worse thing in the world. Honestly, waiting to promote was the best decision I could've made lmao.

If you want a tank unit, just do the dreadfighter-villager loop on your mercenary characters. I maxed out HP, ATK, SKL, SPD and DEF on my Saber doing that lol. It certainly helps. Pretty much as long as you're prepared, it's not that bad. Do mind your characters with low HP and Def/Res though.

I'm playing on Hard/Classic and so far the only game over I've gotten was from a 4% crit on my Celica by a red dragon lol. In other words, bad luck.

  6. Well, Kliff and Luthier get Saggitae at level 15, even though mages promote at level 12. I don't believe they get that spell in their Sage class so I'd hold off on it. Also Delthea gets Ragnorak at level 18, so I'd hold off on promoting her until then as well. Boey gets Excalibur at level 18 as a Mage. I think that's it for characters who get spells on levels past their promote level.

I personally waited to promote so I could get those stat gains. Definitely was worth doing for the postgame lol.

EDIT: I may be incorrect, but I don't think these characters get those listed spells if they promote immediately. If I'm wrong about this feel free to correct me.

And like I already said, their endings don't change regardless if either of them die. This is especially true if Genny dies, since Saber still takes in said "stunning" wife with no issues. Also, the support thing I mentioned is actually significant, because every character gets passive supports with literally everyone that they might be somewhat related to or would communicate with (Celica and all the Ram Village kids), with the sole exception of Jesse and Kamui.

I said in my first post that this was a more obvious implication in Gaiden because her ending only says she falls in love with someone unlikely, not that she married them. This was changed in Echoes so you know. It does seem a lot less likely.

Again, my argument really only holds stock in Gaiden, not Echoes.

Anyways, about the supports thing, I still think it makes sense because since she doesn't support with them or passive support, it truly makes it surprising lol.

I really could care less if anyone believes in this. I mean, it's not canon lol. Oh, I would like to note that in Gaiden, they didn't have official ages and let's be honest, Saber looked like an edgy child with an eye-patch.

Saber could be Genny's father (at least age-wise and hair color it makes sense, and Saber did play around as seen in his support with Jesse, but nothing solid really, just my headcanon).

Estranged blood relatives that meet for the first time as adults often fall victim to genetic sexual attraction (yay Fire Emblem).

I'm going to hell for this

    lmao I love it.

They have no support convo or passive, and their endings don't change regardless if either one of them die, so it's really just conjecture. Not to say it's extremely unlikely, just not to be taken as anything remotely canon.

It's to do with the endings. in Gaiden, Genny's ending went like this; "Though no one could have possibly dreamed of it happening, it's said that she fell in love with one of her companions. Who in the world could that person be? Her only answer is a smile." versus her Echoes ending which goes like this; "After falling in a most unlikely love, Genny wed a man no one would ever expect. As for whom she married, exactly, no one can say—whenever her friends asked, she replied only with a smile and an enigmatic laugh."

So going off of Gaiden's ending, you know it's someone who was in the party and it's someone you wouldn't really see her being with - maybe a mercenary? (Also noting the fact that they don't have any supports and what not, it makes even more sense because that truly is surprising lmao)

For Saber's ending, the original Gaiden was really bare-bones so I won't quote that, but here's his Echoes ending; "Along with Jesse, Saber helped build the foundation for a new kingdom of, and for, mercenaries. He continued working as a sellsword for years to come and aided the One Kingdom on many occasions—always with his stunning bride by his side."

So basically, this is what it boils down to. Every other character's ending who ends up married has no implication of it being a party member. Furthermore, none of them use adjectives like "stunning" to describe their partners except for Saber. It's unusual (Though not impossible) for specific adjectives like this to be used to describe misc. unknown characters (aka the partners that other characters end up marrying). Not only that, but Saber and Genny have the most vague details about their partners as nothing about them is said besides Genny's love being surprising/towards a companion and the whole "stunning" thing. As these are the only characters to have such endings, it can be implied that they end up together. Also if I recall correctly, most other character endings say that *insert character name here* marries either a villager or a blacksmith and whatnot, listing an actual occupation or specifically saying they married a generic villager. Anyways, it just seems odd to have these details and tid-bits and not assume they're related somehow.

I mean, this isn't a "Confirmed 100% canon" thing, but just an implication. Take it with a grain of salt, but I can see it true. If you have any input to give go ahead. This is just how I interpreted everything.

EDIT: When you write an essay regarding an unpopular ship just to try to show that it holds stock. Bring on the judgement lmao.

Celica is half his age and Genny is even younger, like why?

But it's implied that Genny and Saber end up together. It's less of a ship and more of a probably-canon sorta thing. xD I mean, if Genny likes her some older men then you know what? I say go for it gurl. Chase your red-haired 30+ dreams.

If you'd like me to explain where/how it's implied, that's fine. (Genny's implication of being with Saber is more noticeable and makes a little more sense in Gaiden - I'm just assuming it's supposed to be interpreted the same in Echoes)

Anyways as far as shipping people goes? I never really thought about it.

For many many years, I've asked for a more realistic Fire Emblem, never had I known that it was sitting under my nose this entire time. Every map was refreshing for me. Instead of most fire emblem games where I wondered who messed with the paint terrain tool, I saw large flat plains, fortresses that made sense, which had choke points that were designed to funnel the attackers into an easily engaged group, while the archers pelted them with arrows. The fortresses were designed to take any advantage away from you and put it into the defenders, just like in reality. I loved every minute of that. The deserts, being some of my most hated maps in the series for being a slow slog through an expansive area turned into some of my favorites. The desert fortress with Wolff being one of my favorite maps in the entire game.

This is pretty much how I felt on the maps. That and they all looked like very nice maps to me. The terrain, the textures, etc. etc. were all quite lovely and helped me to enjoy them even more. I really liked how natural they felt.

  11. I think they overdid it with her just a little bit, but otherwise I didn't mind much. What bugged me was how she was a bit unfair to her party in regards to her saying that they wouldn't understand and what-not, especially after all they went through and how Saber commented on how it seems like she doesn't trust them with Celica being all like, "I totes trust you bb." But yeah, I pretty much agree with what emperor said.

  12. I didn't really have any problems, playing on Hard!Classic. I didn't even think about using invoke which probably hurt me, but what can you do? lol.

Anyways, what I did was kill off all the other bosses along with the cantor before I even attempted Duma, as I knew I'd get wrecked. So when they were killed, I sent Alm in to attack with Sonya and Delthea following. After Alm attacked, if he got hit I used Genny and Faye to physic him, otherwise I ended my turn. When Duma attacked, he only went for Alm. If he landed a hit then I'd use Delthea and Sonya to heal him. But again, if I actually invoked then it would've been a lot easier. Regardless I won in the end. Halla.

As far as his healing went, he never healed 40 HP for me... so can't help you there.

  13. I think it's worth it. I've thoroughly enjoyed my experience so far. I currently have around 48 hours (give-or-take) and I'm on the final act, which I think is a pretty fair amount of time. (Then again I'm kinda slow so lol)

The story is great, the presentation is great, the voice acting is great and the music is amazing. As far as map design, I like it because sometimes I like the simple designs, even if others don't. I also enjoy the gameplay quite a bit, but that's just me. Though I must say, act 5 did have 2 of my favorite maps. I really enjoyed them a lot...

I'd say it was worth the $40 and I'd definitely recommend it. (Plus it seems like you can do some interesting challenge playthroughs as far as replay-ability is concerned - that and some achievements can only be obtained if you did certain things by the time you finish the main story.)
