  1. True haha~ I'll say one last thing, then leave it be (sorry to drag this out--the intent at this point is to attempt to clear up what I mean ._.; I don't believe I've done a good job, my apologies). It's not clear if she does or doesn't. The game's super vague about that, as far as I've seen/can recall. And that's assuming it's a Revelations run. Otherwise, moot point. Yes, but this was more in-reference to how if the only change that happened is if Azura can share the information versus if she's unable (like in a regular Revelations run, because the plot curse is still there). Sadly, given how the plot worked, it's shoulda-woulda-coulda. *shrug* She should've, but we don't know for sure if it ever happened or not. We only know what we're told/can see. And, from what we've seen, she hadn't acted yet. Yup! Right here's where I pulled it from: http://fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/Rainbow_Sage_(Revelation)/Script Should she be withholding that information? No. But that's more of how her character is--mysterious. For the sake of being it, at times. Thus why the fact she said nothing in Conquest 15 makes no sense...unless she was aware of the information learned from the Rainbow Sage in Revelations, and had to come up with something new to act as a bandaid. But, we're not clear if she knew that information or not. Assuming Azura could freely discuss this topic, it makes more sense (to me) that she would've gone to Mikoto, Ryoma, and Takumi first. Corrin's importance wouldn't matter until them holding the Yato comes into play...and, by then, like I mentioned before, her time was crunched. As you noted, as well. The very one. Again, she may've felt saying something was moot given how Takumi wants you dead at this point, so going after the big evil's not going to happen, but that's speculation/inference rather than something directly stated. I'm sorry, I really wasn't clear about this... :'D You're absolutely correct--there is absolutely no in-game reason for her to not try if the curse is gone. Heck, even WITH it, she should've tried harder!! I do agree with your point--she should've just said something. But no matter what we think or feel about it, so long as the game is set up the way it is, Azura's input doesn't matter. What matters is the decision Corrin--you--makes. What I guess my point is, is that the plot is tied to this mechanic. Azura's ability to share is tied directly to the fact she can only reveal as much or as little as she can based on what we, the players, choose. Let's say Azura can talk about Valla freely. Let's say in Chapters 4-5, she tells Corrin everything. Laments to them, cries to them, begs them for help because she's tried for years and no one else will listen, there's so little time, and she feels so helpless. She's done everything she, by herself, can. If, at the start of Chapter 6, Corrin is so angry at Garon for what happened in Chapter 5 they're blinded by rage and side with Hoshido to take him down, her talking has done nothing. This is more of what I was getting at: so long as the game has its mechanic of having Corrin make that decision in Chapter 6, her talking doesn't change anything because Corrin/the player has decided Garon needs to die more than going to Valla. Now, I understand this would be an absolutely ridiculous decision to make. I understand it would make Corrin an even bigger fool than you could possibly believe. But, the option of not listening to Azura still causes the route split, regardless of whether or not she's been allowed to speak. Unless, of course, we entirely rewrite the plot. Which is an entirely different matter...possibly what you were getting at. If so, I'm sorry for realizing that sooner. ...I hope that made sense. :'D I've rewritten this five times in the hopes it makes even a little bit of sense.
  2. It was more of me inferring than anything, given how she said in Revelations 19 that she'd learned everything from her mother, but I can't say with 100% certainty...she wasn't in the scene where Corrin learned that knowledge from the Rainbow Sage. I may have to check out the earlier chapters for her reactions, as well.
  3. I don't mean to imply Azura knows nothing; I'm well aware she's the person who holds all the knowledge and truth needed to ending the problem once and for all. Without Azura's knowledge and work toward getting everyone where they need to be, there is no proper ending to it, because the cycle of war/misery will just repeat, and she definitely knows it. I'm sorry that wasn't clearer in my earlier responses. For the bolded, the problem is, the story is framed that way, and Corrin is the make or break of what she can do. The Yato is the missing piece to, well, creating peace. Corrin now is wielding the magical weapon that can be strong enough to end it all so long as it plus the other four Sacred Weapons come together. She didn't realize that'd be Corrin until the end of Chapter 5 (heck, no one knew until then). Meaning she has a very short window of opportunity to talk to Corrin (on a battlefield, no less). So, when Corrin, the protagonist, is in the middle of Xander and Ryoma's conversation, that's her only real chance to see the situation and assess what to do. Thus my initial hesitation about your point. Azura's a cautious character and she knows the true end can't be done without all five Sacred Weapons. Corrin, just from plot, is the "key" to bringing them together (which is ridiculous in and of itself, and just paints Corrin in this "heroic" light for just existing). If Corrin isn't on board, based on how the plot works, she's powerless. No matter how much she tries (and she has made effort, as minimal as it was, in Birthright 18 and...sort of in Conquest 15--which I give her a lot of flack for), she can't do anything unless the Yato wielder (Corrin) is willing to bring everyone together. Thus requiring Corrin to not favor one side over the other or to be willing/able to convince both sides to work together. A valid point! I mean, though, we don't really know what Corrin thinks/feels about the situation, since they're meant to be more...blank.
  4. Perhaps I thought about this incorrectly, and thus missed what you were saying. If so, my apologies. I thought of it as such: Chapter 6 begins where Azura manages to mention wanting to show the ravine for answers. Xander and Ryoma are skeptical, and still keep fighting/bickering. The game could, in theory, still split. But now Corrin is aware of the "hey let's not pick a side". They still have the option to ignore Azura, as well, and join one side or the other. Would it be wise? Probably not, but the whole thing circles back to Corrin having the final say in the matter. The issue is the way Chapter 6 is framed, really...it's all about Corrin. Additionally, Corrin can be persuaded to take a clearly ominous and glowing sword with little effort because "daddy dearest" gave it to them; jumping into a ravine doesn't seem like too much of a stretch for what Corrin, as a character, would do. Felicia/Jakob jumping in is based on what Corrin wants to do, not what they think/feel about the matter. Now, if Corrin was like, "No way lady," it doesn't matter. If Corrin won't go in, she's in the same situation as before. Thus nothing changes/develops. Which, again, frames Corrin's choice as more important than her knowledge.
  5. I agree to a point. Her silence definitely is the main reason for the route split, but there's a really big problem...are Xander and Ryoma willing to listen to her? These are the two who hold the highest amount of power in the fractions you'd need to work with. They seem to only be willing listen to Corrin, and even then that's not a guarantee... I can't say for Camilla, since we're given little backstory for her outside of a few details, but I don't believe Leo knew about it. I believe his S-Support with f!Corrin confirms that he'd just learned about it fairly recently. Unless...he'd learned before the story and...that begs too many questions and makes me cringe a little...
  6. Neither. As much as I know I'd love the people who raised me to the point where I'd consider them my family (thus not wanting to betray them), I'm not naive enough to decide to return to the place where this madman king is...after he just tried to murder me, and successfully slaughtered a whole bunch of innocent Hoshidans and their queen (who also happened to be my mom). I'd really want both sides to work with me toward the greater good for both countries, honestly...
  7. I love Camilla, but I understand why people don't like her...the game didn't help flesh her out and explain her behavior properly, so a lot of my fondness toward her comes from reading between the lines/headcanon more than game-included context...plus all the fanservice u-g-h. Unit: Gunter. Just. Gunter, your STATS...you're not even usable in Birthright at ALL. You come back in Chapter 15 of Conquest. You lose out on your ability to support in Revelations. Just. Just why. Though, Nyx is a close second given how dang frail she is, and how she can barely hit the broad side of a barn. Even if she can, it takes some investment to get her to do any real damage output. By then, she's probably being outshined by either Odin, Ophelia (if someone has her), or Leo. I'm trying to use her in Revelations but I'm terrified to let her be in proximity of ANYTHING for EP. Portrayal: Oof. Oh boy. This is a doozy because I have some feelings about which characters are not portrayed well. FIRST THE DISHONORABLE MENTIONS: Xander (Are you kidding me buddy you're the crown prince and you're THIS delusional about your father's condition/country's situation??). Ryoma ("Brb guys I need to waltz off to help with this NOHRIAN rebellion instead of taking my responsibilities of soon-to-be-crowned king seriously...also DID YOU ALL KNOW NOHR SUFFERS FROM FAMINE I DID NOT LEARN THIS DURING MY TIME HERE. IN NOHR. WITH THE NOHRIANS."). Every Corrinsexual except Scarlet and Flora ("Hello I'm a potentially interesting character with my own motivations, struggles, and experiences but none of that is important since I can only support the super appealing avatar, and thus my thoughts and feelings about many situations aren't relevant past my initial introduction since no one really talks about me existing"). The villains ("MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! We're so evil >:)!!"). For real now, the first (err, I guess third place?) would be Peri. Oof. Peri. Given what I'd heard about Peri from people who'd been playing the Japanese version, I knew IS hadn't...handled her tactfully. I'm not going to say too much about her, since my reasons for finding her portrayal to be so terrible have been discussed previously in the thread. The only thing I will say that I find disgusting is that at least two of her S Supports entirely excuse her behavior for the sake of "I love you/I'm attracted to you so it's okay that you act like this at the end of the day, even though I normally would be disgusted by these actions". Just...no. No, no, no. Second, Corrin. Ah, yes. Dear, naive Corrin with an oddly inhuman aptitude to pick up any skill at a rapid pace. The true prince(ss) of Hoshido that was kidnapped at a young age and locked away in Nohr. Who also apparently the entire universe bows and caters to? Aside from the extreme favoritism of the universe, and how no one ever blames their inability to properly handle many situations, I have other issues with Corrin. Corrin, for SOME reason, is both the Lord and Strategist of this game. That's ridiculous as it is...but then there's their support with Leo. You don't even get Leo until Chapter 14 in Conquest and 17 in Revelations. And yet, in the B Support, Leo comments Corrin's strategies will get people killed. Yet, in ALL routes, Corrin is the one leading armies. Corrin. Who Leo, a brilliant strategist, comments is garbage at coming up with strategies to keep a lot of people alive. Leads. The armies. Mmkay, gaaaame... Not to mention is apparently a walking, talking embodiment of sex appeal because eveeeeryone wants to get a slice of Corrin (I understand this is an issue more with the marriage mechanic than Corrin, but when you have units that have no other POINT than to get in their pants...we have a problem). Not to mention, Corrin's character is meant to be so nice but there were instances I found them...really mean? Odin's support in-particular and Felicia's C-Support are just...Corrin stop this immediately and go pick up a book on social etiquette you're hurting feelings, and your apologies seem half-hearted at BEST when you continuously make the same mistakes with multiple people. Last, Azura. When I first saw Azura's design, I was struck. She was beautiful and enchanting and I wanted--no, NEEDED--to know more about her. Who was she? Why did the trailers show two costumes for her? Was she a double agent? Did she betray one of the kingdoms?! I had to know! And then Fates came out and she became known as the walking (and sometimes, singing) plot device with an even more baffling ability to make terrible decisions than Corrin. Just...how? She only tells the cast (mainly Corrin) about anything helpful when the plot allows for it. She's mysterious more for the sake of it than any form of credibility that there are certain things you can't discuss unless at the right time/place. I mean, you're a DANCER. You can't dance for Corrin to convey what you need to? Perhaps this is a worldbuilding fault, but it reflects poorly on Azura all the same. Her ability to notice details is, again, dictated only by plot convenience (I'm specifically eying Conquest Chapter 13 and calling bs)...which makes her intelligence and awareness to the situations around her spotty at best. Her detached responses to absolutely everything (with few exceptions) made it hard for me to like her character, and even when the game was trying to explain why she reacted/felt the way she did...I just really couldn't look past how Azura's potential went out with the ocean's gray waves. ...I'm sorry that was so long...if you read all that, thank you. :'D
  8. ...Oops I didn't! Sorry! For Chapter 20, here's my intended roster (ugh having to LOOK at this map again makes me want to cry I hate Fuga's Nonsense Whirlwind Ride): F!Corrin (Luna): Nohr Noble, LV 8 Azura: Songstress, LV 25 Silas: Paladin, LV 1 Jakob: Butler, LV 21 Gunter: Great Knight, LV 13 (solely there as Jakob's pairup buddy) Xander: Paladin, LV 7 Laslow: Hero, LV 1 Camilla: Malig Knight, LV 12 Niles: Bow Knight, LV 3 Leo: Dark Knight, LV 7 Odin: Dark Mage, LV 6 (solely pairup for Leo...could never feed him any kills ._. I want Leo's magic higher rather than +Speed with Selena, though I may consider this) Elise: Troubadour, LV 17 (I keep trying to feed her healing EXP yet I'm clearly failing at that :'D) Effie: General, LV 3 (this is due to me being stubborn, really...I love Effie and wanted to take her throughout the entire thing) Selena: Mercenary, LV 10 (solely pairup fodder...thinking for either Effie or Camilla...now maybe Leo) @Levant Mir Celestia Sorry, I accidentally sent it too soon...edited it!
  9. Since you mentioned not looking into the multiplayer aspects too thoroughly, here are a couple other points of interest (that I'll, hopefully, explain well): Your "My Castle" area gets two resources (four in a Revelations file) - one for food, and one for gems (one food and gem come from Nohr, and the other two from Hoshido). Each food and gem corresponds to a different stat. Click on them in the little menu, and it should state which helps what. Food is used in the Mess Hall, buys a few accessories, and/or to feeds Lilith. Certain characters make really good meals, which can be used for one-time bonuses (so, for example, let's say you're going into a chapter that you've attempted a few times and have been struggling with...you can get a meal at the Mess Hall, which will have it benefit your units, and the stat increase will apply for that chapter; once you clear that chapter, the bonus will disappear). But, in order to make the meals, you need to gather many resources. You can get random ones from talking to members of your army...but, a more surefire way is to visit other people's castles. This also applies to gems, but gems are used either to either buy accessories (which just help with My Castle functions and change your units' looks...yes, even in gameplay) or to fortify/improve your weapons. I'm not too sure how much you've utilized these features already, so forgive me if this explanation's been unneeded... Also, when you visit someone else's Castle, you can buy items at various shops, gather resources (as previously mentioned), and trade accessories with their avatar. Doing so multiple times will eventually create a "Bond Unit". Bond Units are randomly generated, based on both avatars' looks (I found the only exception is, generally, the body type will be the opposite of the avatar you've made the Bond Unit with), secondary classes, and currently equipped skills. Their personal skills are also randomized, so you can have some really unique units for your army! Although I'm not too sure if you'd want to utilize them in your playthroughs... To properly skill hunt, you challenge their avatar and fight in THEIR Castle with no restrictions...win the battle and you can either buy a skill or recruit a single character to fight in your army; you can buy multiple skills off these Einherjar, but their price will be doubled vs. buying it from someone's Castle individually. The more times you do this, the better rewards you get. You get some based on how many people you've visited/battled, as well as how many people have visited/battled you. Definitely try to get some My Castle codes to help out with that, if you're interested in reaching the 10,000 mark (which is the highest, but some of the most popular My Castles have waaaaaay more than that). If your gold's low and/or you want multiple units/skills from a person's Castle, you'll need to visit another 20 Castles in order for the game to allow you to visit that Castle again (that, or wait 24 hours real time). Ummm...I think I've covered everything? I hope this all made sense to you!
  10. Hello and greetings! :D Oh, now I'm double excited to check it out (been trying to get back on track with a couple things, so I haven't just yet...I will once I settle down and have some time, though)! I usually like to play on higher difficulties if possible, but thank you for letting me know that! That's good to keep in mind. I agree with you - I think Awakening's Lunatic is okay, too. The biggest challenge boils down to the first five chapters. Specifically, for me, Chapters 1 and 2. I definitely knew to keep those Rescue staves for Conquest Lunatic :'D I have to check what else I have at my disposal, too, but I'm only on Chapter 20 so I'm not quite ready to worry about it yet. I've also found that keeping most units in Attack Stance is way more helpful, too! Awakening, as you've noted, requires pair up. I still think that it's a pain to have certain things boil down to RNG, but I'm sure there are ways to overcome that. Also, thank you for the luck-filled wishes!
  11. You're welcome! Ah, thank you~ I think that each person should give something a chance before judging it, you know? It's totally fine that you have a less critical viewpoint--it let's you see things in your own way! And appreciate them as such, too. And each person's likes and dislikes make up a lot of it, too! I hope I enjoy it, as well! And, thank you! I'm actually loading up Fates for the first time in a while to see where I'm at. Eep. XD Your luck-filled wishes are very appreciated/needed!
  12. Thank you! I'm glad you like the username~ I like yours too! It's clever! :D Ohhhh, yes...I've noticed the so-so things about Fates...definitely still fun, though! I think I kiiiiiinda messed up a teeny tiny bit on the planning department for Fates...but hopefully I'll be able to push through! I do plan on talking to the forum and asking questions (I keep absently just looking around...forgetting I have, in fact, made an account until a bit later haha). The GBA ones I've heard are pretty popular, so I definitely plan to look into them~ I'll check into the GameCube ones and Shadow Dragon, too! I mean, just because they're not popular within the fandom as a whole doesn't mean I won't enjoy it, you know? :D Thank you once again! I'll definitely enjoy it here!
  13. Thank you! :D And, it seems a lot of people like the GBA games; seems those shall be where I look to next! And, thank you again for the luck-filled wishes...I'm definitely going to need that. Got to chapter 20 of Conquest, stared at it for a minute, tried once, and stepped away because it's ridiculous. And, I'm already loving the community! Everyone's so nice haha! ;;
  14. Hi! Ah, well, initially, I was referring to a different artist entirely (am I allowed to link to someone else's account?)...but, I do draw, too. I recently switched computers and need to wait for a couple hardware pieces before I can return to drawing. I have a couple Fire Emblem-related pieces in the works...so I'll get working on those once I'm all set up again! I definitely am feeling the weight of my fate when playing through Conquest. :'D I find my struggle isn't necessarily in terms of thinking/strategy, but I think some essential characters (Xander I'm looking at you) didn't get growths where I needed them. Thus making tanking/defending a lot more difficult... >:T I also only planned on playing through Conquest one time via a lunatic run (just to say I did it), since the story is painful in multiple senses of the word. But, we'll see how I feel after I manage to crawl through this first go-through. I only am considering getting the kids for my Revelations run. All my pairs are ready for S-rank, but then I pause and just begin to...not...feel the urge to? I'm not sure if it's because I want to fill my log book first, or if it's because I don't want to use the kids at all. I enjoyed the addition of the child units in Awakening, but am finding no real desire for them in Fates. Is that strange? :'D Thank you! I'm already loving it here~! Hello! I definitely plan on talking to people in that forum for some guidance...maybe even if just for motivational reasons? :'D I'll look into Sacred Stones next, then! Thank you! Thank you! And, I think that was perfectly fine! :D
  15. Hello, everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I've been a fan of Fire Emblem since ~2014; an artist I admire started to upload Awakening-related art, and it inspired me to pick the game up. I've played through Awakening a few times (on both normal and hard difficulties), and am currently (and slowly) working on a lunatic run...which inspired me to name my f!Robin "Luna" (thus the username :'D). Since then, I've started slowly (extremely, EXTREMELY slowly) working on completing Fates' three versions on lunatic (help me Conquest is a nightmare). Since then, I've looked into (but haven't played) Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn...I've been meaning to look into other games, as well, but haven't been able to figure out which game to look into. I've been browsing the forums since Fates was released in the west, and have been extremely busy (read: shy), and kept putting off doing so properly. But, here I am now! I'm...not too sure what else to say? Ihopethiswasokay? I can't wait to get to talk with all of you! Thank you for reading!
